#I want to talk about Vince's Lore!

I finally sat down and played Reed's path in Phantom Liberty and HOLY shit. Spoilers below the cut just in case köahsdföahdsf

MAN. I was like, 95% unspoilered for everything, the only things I knew was: you gotta fight against Kurt, there is a scene in So Mi's apartment, some Cynosure fuckery, and I had seen gifs of So Mi in the core at the end (and deducted HM. she isn't looking to good, I feel like this is an ending where she dies).

But so so so many things came unexpected and got me so damn good!! I had fun fighting against Kurt, his little knife-throwing sequences (though I still wouldve loved a peaceful solution more than this XD a third path where you side with him or sth like that). I did not expect that we'd be fucking with MaxTac alsködhfasf that little bit was so fun, from setting up to having to fight them (though I also really struggled with that at first, rightfully so xDD).

The level design of the Cynosure was amaaaazing, the creepy horror vibes, the voices the jumpscares aödshfasf I loved that so much. I was not at all prepared for the Cerberus mech, that was mean af xD But so fun, gameplay-wise, so creepy, too. I ate up the lore of the place (and how insane that something like this exists under NC - and how much more similar shit must exist as well for other corporations??).

How the apartment sequence was done blew my whole mind, the transition between the bunker and the apartment, the little flashbacks, and how everything slowly crumbled and fell apart. I love that you can hug So Mi ;___; and man, I was crying so much at the end, the pain... but the only thing that felt right in that moment was killing her and giving her her freedom, and it was so raw and gentle and horrible all at the same time (also V's reaction was ;____; aaaahhh my boy).

I loved that we got a chance to shit-talk Myers XD And that, after all that in the end, Reed may finally find his freedom too and get away from the FIA for good!! I was adskhföasf so feral about his and Vince's parallels again, losing everything and being forced to start over. I loved his line that went like "thanks to you I have a choice now, something I haven't had in a long time". And man, I hope he uses his chance to get as far away from Myers and Washington and all that crap as he can, while he still can (just how that whole experience has deterred Vince from wanting to go back to Arasaka for good xD).

Overall though, I gotta say. I felt like the villain the whole time xD From betraying So Mi (still so obsessed that the options are called "Betray XYZ", not "Side with XYZ" which I've seen much more commonly in games with choices - It's a small detail but it makes such a difference in tone!!), to chasing her down all along it always felt wrong xD I'm glad at least towards the end there were some dialogue options that went away from the patronizing "we just wanna safe you" and "this is all for your best", and felt more human again.

So, for Vince's canon, if he goes through with PL from start to finish, he would rather betray Reed - and in return be betrayed by So Mi in the end aöshdajshf but yeah. Immersion and story-wise, her path felt more true to what he would do, even though I liked the outcome for Reed a lot in this. (and I guess that's really where the main difference lies in the end in all the choices, who gets to live and have their freedom in the end, and how much V is willing to sacrifice).

Also, since I went down the path of not handing So Mi over this time and not unlocking the new ending, instead I got new Mr. Blue-Eyes headcanons material O.O aksdfahsöf highly recommend looting the Cerberus mech and crafting the Cyberdeck in the "Unknown Number" related quest after the credits, in case you always wanted two more or less creepy talking constructs in your head xD

Lost Running With Scissors Games

Hey, girlie, don't mind me sliding into your Tumblr. Just here to share some interesting lost media with you.

Now if you follow me or lurk around on my blog, the chances of you being a fellow Postal enjoyer are high. Can't blame you, it's a good games series that I'm most definitely normal about. Yup, very normal about this game. But I'm not here to talk about Postal (for once in my life). I'm actually here to share some lost Running With Scissors media with you.

Yep, RWS has some lost media. I was looking around the Lost Media Wiki to see if Postal had any lost media and found this. It's called Guardian and Flesh & Wire, cancelled shooters that were developed by Running with Scissors and would've been published by Ripcord Games. For those who may not know, Ripcord Games published the first Postal game.

(Here's the logo for Flesh & Wire. There hasn't been one found for Guardian at the moment)

Due to how controversial Postal was, Ripcord had told RWS that if they wanted to continue working together, they would need to ditch the idea of making a Postal sequel and make a new IP. Since Ripcord owned the license of Postal at the time, RWS weren't able to break off and make a sequel. There were two games proposed but got rejected

We're gonna follow the wiki and start with Guardian. I'm gonna put direct quotes for what the gameplay/story is about.

"The story would revolve around Rakk, a fighter who joins the Umbreks to stop the Nullids who are about to "have earthlings for breakfast." According to the lore, the Umbreks were oppressed by the technology advanced Nullids and killing and indigenous species became a real taboo for them. It's unknown if the developers planned to implement this in the game. If true, it's possible that, Unlike Postal, killing them would punish the player. You would've started off with a core set of moves including a traditional Umbrek weapon called an Arraka, As the game goes on, you acquire new skills through genetic assimilation, a process consisting of the ability for Umbreks to absorb the minds of the Nullids. The absorbed skills would simply disappear after a certain time. Excessive use could cause the protagonist's mind to change for the rest of the game."

Guardian was announced at E3 1998. It was meant to be RWS second title.

According to Vince Desi, the game was to use motion capture and was all about "flesh and wire". It was originally a third-person shooter that was to use 3D characters and real life background that were digitized, and multiple camera angles, dynamic lighting, and special effects. It was planned to be released on PC in 1999 and have a DVD version that would have better graphics.

Now for Flesh & Wire. Again, I'll be quoting the Lost Media Wiki for the gameplay/story.

"Unlike, Guardian, Flesh & Wire would've centered around a sleazy cop name Angus. One morning, he woke up to see his city being engulfed by a bio-ship named Nulloid. Not only that, but he also found a blob-like creature devouring his legs. Rather than calling a doctor, he came to the realization the he could control the blob and use it for good. From there on, you would've moved around levels, utilizing special abilities and solved puzzles, such as creating either a ladder to reach high places, a bungee to get down or even a shield to protect yourself from enemies. It bears many similarities to the 1989's A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia, a game developed by Imagineering for the NES. Unlike that game however, Flesh & Wire was a far-less family friendly and featured grotesque monster designs. You could carry weapons such as a gatling cannon, an electric gun and poison gas, to which you could even combine to make even more powerful weapons. The game would also encourage players to collect as much material as possible to increase the amoeba's size and speed, and would even lose some of its mass the more the player moves."

The animation for Flesh & Wire would be done in rotoscoping live martial arts students. The movements would be recorded on synchronized digital cameras set at 90 degrees apart from each other. They were to be digitized and loaded onto Softimage 3D, an animation software, and to be used as reference for the animators to use. Randy Briley, the studio's art team leader, came up with the idea pf building the levels of the games using miniature layout, using scraps of PVC pipes, copper tubing, old VCRs, and other items that were glued and painted. This was done to save money and resources. The results were successful.

The game was announced in March 1999. It would've been RWS' first game released on console

That same year, Panasonic Interactive Media, Ripcord's parent company, announced their closure. The senior management team at Panasonic made a deal to acquire Ripcord and make it an independent company. RWS announced that they would still continue working on Flesh & Wire on their own and that they'd support Ripcord's new team. But then Ripcord drooped their support for Flesh & Wire. RWS had spent $1.5 million into Flesh & Wire and had planned to released it in the next year, but they were unable to find any publishers that would support the project which had ultimately led to the cancellation of Flesh & Wire.

Here's some of the concept art from the Wiki. Both these games would've been really cool to see. It's sad that they weren't able to come to fruition though. Hopefully, we can find more out about these games.

THAT IS NOT HOW THE LEGEND GOES. Ok before the modern Bloody Mary, a young women would walk up the stairs with a candle, backwards while holding a mirror. When she looks in the mirror she’s either see a face of her husband, OR a skull of the Grimm Reaper. In modern day, people turn off the lights and say her name with or without a candle. In modern time Mary is seen a a demon, witch, ghost (friendly or not) or covered in blood. The victims usually end up having their eyes scratched out, strangled, or having their blood drained out or souls stolen.

The only folklore I can find that resembles steals souls via sex is a Succubus. But they can’t hurt or drain their victims when they have sex.

He started opening his eyes, feeling mild but still noticeable pain, he looked at his hands, covered in roasted flesh and showing bones. Vincent caressed himself on the face, and the rest of his body, all of it, was just burnt flesh and uncovered bones

"My body... It's all ruined... and painful" He muttered, "And it itches... It itches sooo much..."

He tumbled as he tried to get up, just a pathetic void of roasted flesh. He scratched all around his body, but there was a specific spot itching the most, he reached his hand were it was, in a side of his neck, he remembered that moment...

"This is where Rody stabbed me..." Vincent scratched faster, "It itches, it itches so much it hurts... But it won't stop, no matter how much I scratch it, how hard I try..."

He was standing in the middle of a sketchy background, basically nowhere, talking to himself, being just a mere lost soul in nothingness.

"My life, my bistro, my dreams... All gone, all got ruined because of him... If only he didn't know, if only he complied, but no! All he cared is for that damn girl!

...You disappoint me so much, Rody"

But in a strange glance of the void, he slowly turned as he felt there was someone else nearby. He turned to see another voidy soul like him, but it was a shady looking Manon, she was red void with a single, creepy eye open, with tears dropping across her face, and the marking, the markings she had when she got cut up...

"Ah... Manon" Vince stepped back a bit, "So, we meet again, huh?"

Manon kept staring at him, without making a single movement

"Well, if that's the revenge you wanted, then you got it! Your precious ex-boyfriend saved a life that was long gone... It's just that pathetic, isn't it?"

She didn't reply, just standing there

"Well, now he's out there, probably lost in the city, because all he cared for is no longer there, just disappeared, just like all my dreams and ambitions! Are you happy with that!?"

Manon kept staring at him, Vincent just felt something snap inside him

"I tried so hard to get there! I did all my best to overcome my own limits! I tried to wipe off the fact I couldn't taste ANYTHING just to accomplish my dream! My life! All of that taken away by a mere person that only cared about his girlfriend more than anything in the world! How could you dump him!? How could you leave him over someone like me!? I wish I had someone to love me the way he loved you! But I never got it, because I was too focused on my dream, my ambition, my obsession! And to get over that day I lost my sense of taste... That's all you wanted to hear? All my woes and how pathetic I've become?"

Seeing no response from her, he groaned

"I wanted my taste back, I wanted to see what 'cooking with love' felt... But it didn't happen, and now it never will! Ironic, isn't it? I will not feel or taste anything but demise in this limbo where I'm at, with you.."

He looked back at Manon, "You know what? Fine, take the revenge you want to do! Torture me as much as you please! I do not deserve forgiveness for what I've done and what I was about to do, because it was ALL for NOTHING!"

It was at that moment he saw Manon take a step forward, "I forgive you", she replied

"Eh, what was that?" Vincent tilted his head

"I forgive you... Because you will not harm Rody anymore, nor anybody else... I do not mind what you've done to me... But"

She stepped closer to Vincent, whom didn't take steps back anymore, her red eye looking straight at his, he knew it was more dead serious...

"Your actions still have consequences..."

Vincent mildly closed his eye, "What else might happen? I am nothing but ashes and burnt flesh now..."

"You will not hurt Rody in any way, or I will know..."

The two ghosts stood there in the sketchy void, with tension surrounding in their staring contest.

"I will not let you harm him anymore."

I'm slowly starting to compile tidbits of lore for Vince. He's been around since Vaye came into being, but I never took as much time to flesh him out as I have for her.

Rambles under the cut.

His backstory is still the same.

His parents were Nomads and close friends with Vaye's parents. (If you didn't know they aren't blood siblings, now you do.) The kids grew up together even before his folks and her mom died. So adopting Vince was a no-brainer for her dad.

Vince is 31 at the start of Vaye's canon 2077 timeline.

He's always been the quiet one. The observer. The guy everyone thinks is well adjusted and just vibing but really it's that he's good at hiding his issues.

Vince took a shine to the medical field young and never wavered from it. I consider him the group's field medic to a degree. He may not be carrying around an emergency kit but his apartment is as close to a clinic as you can get without having all the fancy equipment. He's training under Viktor to be a ripperdoc one day (and he eventually does take over Vik's clinic when the old man retires - no, we aren't looking at PL endings here). He considered Trauma Team for a while but ultimately decided he didn't want to be bound to helping only the upper echelon with their fancy trauma cards. Why should he dedicate his life to helping the people who shit on his?

On that note: he's staunchly anti-corp just like Vaye.

He comes off as prickly and detached at first; often considered cold, blunt, and a stick in the mud. It's all armor. He keeps himself guarded. It allows him to keep a distance between his work and his feelings, and he also just does not care what people think of him. He's very much an actions over words kinda of guy. Don't talk about it if you aren't going to back it up.

Outside of ripper training, he earns income via street fights and the occasional smash and grab gig.

Fighting is both income and "free therapy" for him. In the same vein as Gil, Vince likes the adrenaline rush. And it doesn't hurt that it helps him stay fit.

When it comes to merc work, he tends to avoid hit jobs. He would rather help sabotage someone or steal valuables. It's not that he has qualms about taking lives, he doesn't, it's that he's of the mindset that doing so rarely pushes anything toward a resolution. Kill one roach, one more will take it's place mentality. That said, if someone gets in his way during a gig and poses a risk to the operation, he won't hesitate to remove the problem. He's very good at boiling things down to equations. Turning people and situations into a game of odds allows him that detachment he so prefers.

Beneath the crunchy outside, though, he's all heart.

He cares deeply. Maybe too much sometimes. And getting him to show that can be like pulling teeth.

Vince does not open up easily. He's like a shelter dog.

You have to earn his trust over time before he'll show his vulnerable parts and if you break that trust, especially early on, it's incredibly difficult to get it back. He is not a three strikes you're out man, he's a two if you're lucky.

Combat style:

Brute force. Vince thrives up close and personal with his enemies.

He can manage a modicum of stealth, but he's not out there using throwing knives or silenced anything.

He likes shotguns and revolvers. Power weapons > Tech weapons > Smart weapons.

He can't netrun but he does have a nugget of techie know-how and can hack his way past most locks. That's where it ends though.

He has a reputation with fixers for being ruthless. Ironic for someone they also enlist to patch up their solos from time to time.

Regarding his cyberware (bear with me this is all loose and not following canon anything really):

In game, he's got the mantis blades but that's really just for aesthetics. His forearms/wrists/hands are actually chipped with hydraulics. Think impact wrenches in his arms (ugga dugga).

To compensate for that, his rotator cuffs/shoulder sockets are reinforced with synth tendons and buffers.

EMP threading on the right side of his face feeds into his Kiroshis for more in-depth scans. He used to have threading on both sides, but the implant on the left was damaged in a nasty scuffle while on a job in his younger years and he opted to just have it removed.

He has synth-lungs specifically meant to filter not only NC's nasty air, but also a slew of aerosolized chemicals such as anesthetic agents and toxins (like gas grenades).

His other basic chrome includes: reinforced joints, a biomonitor, standard holo and interface ports, synthetic intercostal webbing (the muscles between your ribs), and an inner-ear gyroscope because he got tired of having motion sickness in cars or on the metro (yes, baby boy gets upset tummy).

it was very slow!

perri was EXTREMELY closeted. hardcore in denial, dated multiple girls in the past, yknow. so he was really scared. all of the relationships hed been in prior we’re toxic and he got taken advantage of, he’s a chronic people pleaser.

vince was also hesitant. he didn’t want to fall for anyone because he was trying to focus on work and school, his future.

but they both fell regardless.

it was baby steps, slowly getting comfortable around eachother. first just as friends, then trying to ignore the tension, but eventually they had their first kiss in perris car after a late night talk. perri cried because he was so conflicted about the fact that he liked it, that he enjoyed kissing someone for the first time, and that it was a boy.

but it for easier, again, baby steps.

when the became “official”, there was no “do you want to be my boyfriend”, it was actually just perri finally admitting out loud that he was gay. both of them laying on perri’s bed after kissing for a while, perri on vince’s chest, and after some silence, perri goes “hey vince?” // “hm?” // “i think… i think i’m gay” // “yeah?” // “yeah.”

and vince kisses his forehead and goes “proud of you. i love you yknow that” // “i love you too”

and that spoken admission is what kinda sets it i. stone! they had technically been dating for a while but vince was letting perri take his time and come to terms with thing at his own pace.

Mad Men: gorgeous cinematography, flawless character drama, wrapped up in the overromanticized vibes of the 60s and corporate america. im forever impressed by how good the visual storytelling is. like these characters rarely talk of their feelings, you can barely rely on the dialogues themselves. it’s all in the subtle character actions. i know it gets slow sometimes but it’s worth it for the ride. esp for those who ever worked for an ad agency lol. like man i really thought i was changing the world one poster design at a time.

oooh thank you!! i'll be honest, i don't know much about the krakens beyond the booktok drama (which was ridiculous, i felt so bad for the team) and the fact vince dunn lowkey scares me (no hate to him, but he just does for some reason)🤠but i would love to know more!!

don't think i've talked about the period of pule's life between verica disappearing and him getting turned into a nidus, so

so he sends vince a helminth sample to analyse, right. and he fuckin Disappears, the house is infested as all hell when authorities find it, and basically, pule assumes he's just caused the death of his best friend. tragedy.

then verica gets on the case, interrogates pule about the details, and then never contacts him again. he assumes she's ghosted him or worse. and he also feels slightly at fault for this one.

he wouldn't think to blame the government - verica didn't share her findings with him, mostly because she was very focused on finding information and had very little time between Her Finding The Information and the Government Finding Her. so pule literally has no idea what happened.

he knows that two is a coincidence and three is a pattern, but he gets into his own head about it - starts blaming himself, etc. eventually, he's losing focus on his work very badly because he doesn't sleep or eat as much as he should, and there is something Niggling at him that what he assumes is So Wrong, and there's a fucking warframe that some asshole researcher named Octavia after his friend running around, and eventually, he doubles down on his belief in the governments integrity, he cracks a little bit and he volunteers for the warframe project. (would like to stress that even towards the researchers working on it, the consequences of becoming a warframe aren't entirely clear. government keeping secrets etc)

in vince's embarrassing helminth visits, pule remarks that vince's fashion sense saved him, and verica says that she "looks like she did on stage, just more", and i want to deliberately lean into this more - warframe abilities and appearance are determined at time of getting helminth'd, by taking and exaggerating the psyche and expertises of the warframe. verica's good at music and had a sick stage costume, and when she imagined herself, she saw herself as that - so that's what she became. vince had a decently classy sense of fashion & wardrobe, so that got exaggerated into permanent coat tails and a top hat.

for what he couldn't help but think he caused to happen to his friends, pule felt a bit like an asshole. helminth exaggerated this and made him look like a monster.

he works through it, eventually - transference therapy still has an effect, someone who's with you so much of the day and can see into your deepest doubts if you let them, deeper than you could articulate with words, can absolutely help you gain some new insights into what bothers you. (it's just that children probably shouldn't be in charge of it, but i've said that before) (pule's case might actually force my hand a little bit and say that tenno can do this even before the warframe gains back their memories. just a little bit of subconscious emotion fuckery, one doubt at a time) (actually this makes a lot of sense already. all warframes in my lore who were active with tenno during the old war are confident and know themselves - kali, pule, verica, bruiser, sufford. it's just vince who's the outlier in that he has no idea what's going on, and now i can explain that with the lore of he never had a tenno! woohoo!)

Titus telling Stardust he needs to get some and then he won't be so obsessed with being evil is so funny, but the timing of it happening like a month after Seth is gone is very good

Very sad that we never got to see they payoff to the beautiful thing that was happening between Stardust and Cesaro but this Stardust and Titus story line has been very cute

Random Tsumitsu aus!

Childhood friends to lovers au, they met when they were 4 in a park during summer, then when school started they figured out they go to the same school and hung out 24/7. They confess to each other at the same time on Valentines Day at 13 years old.

Hospital au, Tsukasa has an unknown illness and Mitsuba has a heart disease. Tsukasa is destined to die before Mitsuba but Mitsuba doesn’t want to see him go. A bunch of angst, plot twist: partner suicide. ( I love hospital romance aus, also Amane is alr dead 😬 )

This is an au I have thought about for a long while and it’s not necessarily only a Tsumitsu but I’m gonna add it. Mental hospital/Asylum au, although there are still all the paranormal themes, Tsukasa’s a supernatural and Mitsuba is an original-born supernatural, not at first but that’s a lot of lore I can’t rn. I’ll prob talk abt this au again.

Haunted house au, Tsukasa and Mitsuba are invited to a school party by Nanamine Sakura, but the host ( Sakura ) isn’t here and the house is definitely haunted. It’s a party containing only the main characters + ocs Ig and maybe not necessarily Tsumitsu only but it’s implied.

Another haunted house au, but Tsukasa is an undercover detective and Mitsuba is the person he’s secretly interrogating abt the house across the street in Mitsuba’s neighborhood that used to be his that obviously has some paranormal activity going on.

College au. Mitsuba’s waiting at the campus coffee shop for his friend Kou, but gets bored and orders a mocha latte but internally questions why the waiter kinda cute ( ‘Not as cute as me but good enough’ - Mitsu ), he has to get the waiter’s name ( He does ).

High school drama au. There’s a mini school play and Tsu and Mitsu being apart of it ( Bc they’re theater kids/apart of the theater club ), and they very coincidentally get the role of a background gay couple.

Band/band club au. Idk what to say with this one, imagine it tho.

Idol au. Mitsu’s the assistant of singers Aoi and Nene, is heading to Aoi and Nene’s place in the con but stumbled upon another hall of a very popular singer named Tsukasa who has the most beautiful singing voice and amazing outfit and is just extremely cool. Mitsuba wants to be friends with him so bad but he doesn’t think it’s his place to stand right by a popular idol.

Superhero au. Idk what to say abt this one either. Imagine.

Christmas au, secret Santa. Just imagine… ( I’m running out of ideas but this is a spam )

Fashion designer au. Tsukasa is a fashion designer working for model Mitsuba.

Beauty and Beast/Hanahaki au. Mitsuba ventures into a forest to find his missing brother but stumbles upon a castle instead, a castle with a cursed spirit in it. He later finds out in order to bring the corpse back to life, he has to get the young damaged spirit to love again. To pull the needles and patch the holes in the boy’s heart.

Dead plate au? Mitsuba’s Vincent and Tsukasa’s Rody ( I chose Mitsuba as Vince since both of them are cannibals ).

Twister, or truth of dare, or friends locking them in the closet, or nerd and popular au? ( Just put a whole bunch of cliches together )

Long long rambly headcanon post regarding my V and Kerry specifically, because I have feeeeeels XD On a meta level this time, bc some coincidences you just cannot plan out beforehand.

I know this all is gonna sound so fake, but I promise, it's not xD Also, it's maybe not as deep, but I want to write about all these things at some point in more detail too and not forget about them, so here they go for now!

I put several details into V's background way before meeting Kerry in game that ended up connecting to his life and questline in amazing ways. Mind you, I went into my first playthrough almost entirely blind. All I'd looked up at some point was the romanceable characters' names and who can romance them, because River was sending so many mixed signals xD.

Heck, I wasn't even too excited about Kerry XD I was hell-bent on River, bc V and he hit it off so well imo, and when I looked up that River is not available to romance for masc body/ masc voice V I was so disappointed xD Thinking "urgh fine, let's see how Kerry is like then, if he's the only MLM option". I was half-expecting though to probably finish the game without playing any of the romances - wouldn't have been the first time that happend to me in a game, sometimes my OC just doesn't click with any of the characters XD

During Johnny's first flashback it didn't even fully register with me that you're actually talking to *the* Kerry there, just his younger self. I'd basically forgotten about him again until the Voodoo Boys job. And overall, the little Johnny says about him didn't intrigue me (or V on that matter) that much, beyond an "okay, noted, it's complicated with you two". Overall I was basically expecting a less funny Johnny 2.0 with Kerry, personality-wise. I was still looking forward to meeting him, because he was taking his sweet time to show up XD But otherwise I had zero expectations.

Since I didn't know the lore or world of Cyberpunk that well either, a lot of stuff I made up for V's background along the way, and it led to so many amazing coincidences in the end...

Like, Vince his half-Japanese. That I settled on while messing in the CC, filling in some gaps as I got to know the world better. His father was a huge admirer of the Arasakas, Hanako in particular, gave his life for the corp, yadayada. He wanted his family and his kid to resemble the Arasakas' grandiosity in as many ways as possible, and so amongst other things V learned how to play the piano when he was a kid. He ended up hating it, stopped playing, because it was not something he wanted to do but was forced to do, more or less. Then, what's the first thing you see walking into Kerry's mansion the first time? Front and center, big piano. Admittedly, pianos show up here and there elsewhere, but somehow at Kerry's villa it felt the most out of place for me, just how V felt like out of place snooping around there. I'd like to think that Kerry inspired him to pick it up again at some point, on his own terms this time, playing what he wanted, not what others told him. Out of the other former Samurai members he also gets along best with Nancy, and they stay in regular contact after he helped her out with her request.

Another thing, I don't even remember where you can read about it in-game - in Kerry's database entry, or in a shard? - that kinda caught me a little off guard, a "what the heck" moment, was Kerry apparently doing yoga on his patio every morning. I think one of the first things I added to Vince's background for flavor was that he did yoga for a long time, picking it up some time after starting at Arasaka (recommendation by his life coach to cope with the stress) and eventually falling out of the habit after leaving the corp, because all his routines kind of went out the window for a while there. Here I'd also like to think Kerry makes him pick it up again, bc it's some additional time they can spend together in the mornings, especially important when the rest of the day they don't get to see each other anymore, until late at night maybe.

When V and Takemura talked about their childhoods during Gimme Danger, first thing I did afterwards was drive to Charter Hill and figure out where V might have grown up, which street and building he and his family could have lived in. The building I ended up settling on turned out to be one of the first you see when you step onto the rooftop lounge of the Dark Matter with Kerry. The thought of Kerry going there during important moments in his life, and the kid that would really change everything for the better for him a few years down the road living right across the street, neither of them aware of the other... I live for shit like that. So if anything, that one settled the deal for me for good XD Not to mention that Kerry was not what I had expected in the slightest, and I mean that in the best way possible.

The more I think about it, and as I'm replaying the game, I might notice or remember even more stuff or little coincidences. But yes... they were meant for each other, from the start, without me or either of them realizing it then, and I love it XD

to clarify: I also didnt know him before the tournament. his only submission with description provided a link and also mentioned, and I quote, "he's also got banging music taste for when he's committing heinous crimes thats gotta be a bonus".

from what I've investigated, evan was introduced as the nutritional instructor from the everymanHYBRID fitness videos, but it's quickly understood the guy is unstable. plays with weapons while he talks about disturbing dreams. stares into space for periods of time. he even has a breakdown on camera.

he's called one of the slenderman guys bc its in the video where he looses the plot is when slenderman just? appears?? and he's the only one that can see him. naturally, he decides killing slenderman is the answer and chases him with a knife.

from there, evan has a change in his personality. if before he was kind of crazy and definetely unstable, now he's up the walls insane. he tries to kill slenderman again but this time with a baseball bat. even tho if the knife didnt work, clearly a bat is the answer/j. he joins the seven trials of habit which is??? unclear to me, but it seems habit (who is also a spirit) possess him. with habit in his head, he starts having conversations with thin air, kills and eats his child, kills his child's mom, among other things.

and it doesnt end there. apparently he and his friends are just the newest iterations of themselves "that have recurred throughout decades, if not centuries" according to the wiki. this is relevant bc years before all this there was another evan (a kid this time) who spoke in a trance at the same time as his adopted siblings and killed his nurse. the trance thing is something this evan the nutrition guy also has, and it appears there will continue to be new itarations of him and his friends (who also have counterparts in 1971, same name and all) until they break the Cycle in which they all except vince (one of the friends) die.

Awwww thank you so much ❤!! yes it’s gonna be so sad for me too to not have my weekly live screaming sessions,, nooo this masterpiece of a story got over ;_; as they say, every good thing has to come to an end (nooooo~) so we gotta enjoy it till it lasts ;_; [I want to reread it again, but not anytime now... I need time to recover, sadly it seems I am getting increasingly upset and frustrated seeing A Certain Someone’s logic and arguments so I need some time to get over it and read again with a clearer mind; lol I generally don't get this upset over a fictional character but this guy’s character resonate a lot with someone ik ig that’s why I associate one with the other in my mind idk]

Break continues to be my favorite character which is honestly a surprise bc I tend to change my favorite midway through the series (I am not faithful shhh); Lottie and Lacie come a close second (well-written female characters tho they had not enough screen time (at least not for me, I wanted to see more of them!), they have lots of gaps and flaws I can develop on in my mind and in my fics if I ever post anything) 

The two Alices, Oz and Gil: they are my babies now I adopted them, already signed adoption papers and all 💪 (once again, a surprise bc I hardly ever care about the main characters but these four are just... made-to-be-loved how dare anyone hurt them?!?!? *looking at a Certain Someone 🔪🔪* I just wish we saw more of Alyss and her thoughts, likes, dislikes etc. before the end. Since Cheshire loved her but was dead scared of our Alice, Alyss must have craved for meat less lol) 

Fun fact: my favorite arc in Pandora Hearts still remains *drumroll* Headhunter Arc my beloved <3 

not only was it mochijun’s super self-indulgent glamorous-makeover-for-all-my-characters arc but also has some of the best cliffhangers, plot twists and lore—humpty-dumpty (this chain damn!), Fianna’s house and their eerie ritual of making contractors out of little homeless kids, the doings of Isla Yura, his cult of Jack worshippers and the Nightrays (except Elliot ofc) all gave me chills and thrills, kept me to the edge of the seat,, say, if you see, I have less live drafts for that arc, it’s because... I was so invested in the story I couldn't even bother to pause and log on to tumblr; I just had to get to the end. It was like a standalone, little whodunit+thriller story arc with Eliot as the detective/protagonist set out to investigate his family’s curse ;_; and then the final reveal of the actual criminal (Retrace 61) 😭 (something I had guessed at in the beginning from Lottie’s words but the rat is just that good at distracting us from the truth =_=)

The rest of the story is, well, do I need to explain aghfhshfg why is this story so compact and coherent and filled with so much foreshadowing right from the first panel of the Retrace 1 that it still gives me goosebumps (I was actually talking about Retrace 76/77 with my friend (no, not specifying names or giving out spoilers, she hasn’t read PH yet and I am slowly luring her in with a carrot into this rabbit hole)—kinda like: See? I think I have uncovered a huge conspiracy theory— you know the suspected immortals in our world? I think they never die but go full Benjamin Button mode back and forth! She is super interested to know more and I am waiting to cast The Question: *conspiratorial tone* Do you wanna read something with a plot like that?)

ahhhh lol I was rambling but thank you so much for sticking around with me til the end, reading my analysis and posts (most of them were my incoherent screams fgsghghsj) and for this ask! It was so sweet of you <3 <3 And although I ran out of my live drafts, I do plan on writing a lot on the other characters too (in fact, I have three posts—character analysis of sorts—about Oswald, Gil, Vince and the Baskervilles in general—in my drafts and then, a few others in plans.) I will also be screaming (and probs writing fics bc what else to do when a ship takes its roots inside your head) about my favorite ship ahem ahem, which no one but me likes 😭😭, so that too.
