i like basically every ship with ethan! it mostly depends on the mood im in, but if im being honest, mithan, winterfield, and wintersberg gets frustrating to think about because they all dont treat ethan well canonically... lethan is fun because they have never met and i can make my own assumptions!

i used to like wintersberg the most and i still do like it, i just have expanded my horizons to other ships as well...., its mostly like a punchline to me though. they have the funniest potential which is why a majority of their posts is just joke comics. i do not like how people try to erase how karl is arrogant and egotistical tho. thats like removing the flavor.... the way karl acts is just very funny to me, hes so lame in a good way and i like how everytime he talks to ethan it sounds like hes twirling his hair and kicking his feet. canonically speaking, karl was very much in the wrong for trying to use rose and not elaborating and i will die on this hill. ethan is not in the wrong for being disgusted and angry that karl would ever try and propose that in the deal. karl is very arrogant so when ethan says no to him it makes him mad and he tries to use fear to get ethan to take his deal (kicking his chair and warning him) i like karl, i like how messed up and arrogant he is but i dislike how people try to portray him as a nice guy. however, in a AU where everythings the same except he doesnt try to use rose i do enjoy the dynamic they could have, especially if the teamed up (not with the deal where they use rose. ethan wouldnt agree unless karl never involved rose in the first place). karl is just a very entertaining character and i like him a lot, hes funny and his personality can be extremely hilarious

mia and ethan is pretty tragic and thinking about it too much makes me a bit sad, imo in a reality where ethan survives re8, he needs to divorce mia. im not saying ethan needs to hate mia and never talk to her again i just dont think they should be so intimate together because of her behavior... please do not take this as anti mia. they loved each other dearly but it wasnt healthy. their relationship was kept afloat by lies and mia doesnt change even though she deals with the consequences of her own actions in re7. she actively tries to hide her past from ethan and is mostly focused on trying to move on and have a normal life even if ethan will have to live the rest of his life in the dark.

she loves her family so much, shes very afraid of them leaving her so she hides all the bad things in the hopes that they wont leave. its selfish, its human, its real, her character is so amazing and i love her. she doesnt learn from re7 and hides important information from ethan again. i geniunly think they should have gotten divorced after re8 if ethan had survived. its tragic and its sad but they love each other so much. it sad because they both geniunly love rose so much but they themselves shouldnt be together. its just sad to think about it. whenever i draw them it usually takes place before re7. they should have divorced on good terms and shared custody of rose.........

ethan and chris is also frustrating to think about... chris is a major jerk in re8, whenever i draw it, its under a unspoken AU that chris did not behave the way he did in re8. his weird behavior in re8 is probably for a meta reason imo. capcom wanted to set up a twist villian so they make chris very vague and unesscarily cruel. while its frustrating that they turned chris into a jerk for the sake of a twist, it still happens in canon and i will forever roll my eyes whenever i see him on screen. he did what he thought was best but imo, execution matters more than the intentions. same applies to mia. they both did things that hurt ethan because they thought it would be the best but in the end they just hurt ethan.

all the ships ive discussed with people ethan has met canonically just makes it look like i dont even like the ships... LOL ... ethan just has horrible luck with the people he meets i guess... but i do enjoy the ships and drawing them, but again all of them come with the canon baggage that ends up making me sad because everyone treats ethan poorly whether they had good intentions or not

which is why leon and ethan is the most fun to draw without getting stressed... LOL... they have never met but just drawing what i think their dynamic would be like is very fun.

a short drabble about Leon as your bf because I love this man. pure sfw and comfort!! just mention of mental health struggles and a self harm mention in one of the sentences, just a mention but i’m saying it just in case.

Leon would be the sweetest type of lover. Like actually. yeah he may be distant and all, but he loves you, and he tries to make sure you know it. always hugging you, comforting you, kissing you. it’s the little things. he notices everything— he always pays attention to your face, body talk.

Leon is so comforting in general. this man gives the best hugs and it’s canon (confirmed by me i am capcom). his arms just wrap around you, covering you like a warm blanket on a winter night. he likes sitting with you in silence, not talking about anything in particular but being with you. like a cat, in some ways. he wants your attention and affection, but he’s also reversed and won’t show it besides the subtle signs. he loves rocking you back and forth in a soothing motion, whispering sweet words in your ear.

Leon loves forehead kisses. he loves kissing your pretty face, holding hands without a word. he loves when you cover his face with kisses, it’s his favourite thing.

Leon is the type of person to kiss your self harm scars if you have them. he doesn’t even have to ask to understand. he knows. and that’s okay — he doesn’t comment on them, just kisses your scars and tries to make you feel validated.

my headcanon is that leon did at least try sh once in his life. there’s no way he didn’t at least think of it.

Leon who is grateful for your existence. you saved him. thanks to you, he started smiling again. it’s still just that small smile of his, but it appears more often and only around you.

Leon who would give everything to you because you’re his everything. he doesn’t want anything or anyone else because he has you — his dear, his angel, his beloved person.

-He is DEAD and has GHOST POWERS. He can TIME TRAVEL. He has a LOVING CAT DAD as his OWNER and the only family they have left is EACH OTHER. I would go into detail but that would involve spoiling the best mystery game ever written. You should play Ghost Trick. This stupid cat has not left my brain in months. He's haunting me. Which is fitting because he is a ghost. Did I mention he's a ghost cat what is cooler than a ghost cat.

-most special little guy in the world. hes HUGE spoilers for the game btw but um. yea <3

-Because [REDACTED] is the true Schroeder’s cat, he is both dead and alive at the same time and has really cool ghost powers. Also, he can’t read!

-If you haven’t played Ghost Trick, I tragically cannot tell you the spoilers, but this cat is sweet and determined and got a sad man through some rough times.

Judge - Unproductive Fun Time - 2008 - White cat:

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE ENTIRE GAME-- BE WARNED

-His only family is his brother, who he watched as a bird came out of his mouth and revealed his brother was long dead and the bird was puppeteering his corpse around. While you fight the bird the only thing he can say is calling out his brothers name.

-after you kill the bird he stays at the rooftop where it happened and calls out his brothers name (with real sad cat meows) and says the meowing at his lungs fullest line in the original post. he isnt seen again until the very end of the game

-At the end of the game he reappears to berate you (the player) for helping the batter kill eveyone else in the world, and you can choose to side with him and kill the batter. All his special attacks are named after neck, spine, and brain injurys (Anyurysm rupture, Staggering sclerosis, ect)

-with your help he can easily kill the batter with three of his special attacks.

-after you kill the batter he is seen roaming the now empty world, seeming being one of three(?) people left in existance

And here we are again… RE9 theory

It's time for another theory! I'll be writing these right up until the release of RE9, so apologies if you're tired of speculation. I had a theory about this Wesker concept once before, but it came out too vague + I tied the concept to RE4R, but it never made it into the game. So here's a new theory that has captured my brain.

What if, this concept never belonged to re4r? What if it showed up in early development of re9? Let me explain.

Imagine that Wesker is alive in re9. You can imagine the importance of keeping such a news secret, because it is quite a shocking information for fans. If this is the main intrigue in re9, the game would lose it if information about Wesker leaked to the public. If you were the designers and developers, you wouldn't let such news get out of the organization any way. So, put yourself in the shoes of a Capcom employee? Let's move on.

Suddenly such an important detail is leaked by Wesker's voice actor and your intrigue risks becoming public, the game will lose half of its interest without keeping Wesker a secret. You, as a developer\designer need to solve something, somehow fix the situation so that no one will know about the return of this character in the new game.

Then you make a GENIAL decision, setting your sights on re4r, which is in the middle of development. You decide to add this Wesker design to re4r to ward off all suspicion and get out of the disadvantage. Well done, you succeeded in fooling the fandom, now everyone is convinced that this concept was originally made for re4r.

It would seem that everything is fine, no one will know the truth until the re9 release happens, but… Wesker's concept never showed up in re4r. That image is not inside the game or in the concept book. We, the players, are left to assume that this concept was trivially not intended for re4r.

To confirm this theory, I'll ask you to pay attention to a few details - the face (1), the hair (2) and the hand (3). 1. The face, to be honest, could be anything on these concepts, because they are made sometimes before the studio finds the right actor to give the appearance to the character. But I'm left wondering if his face here is taken from re5 and yet looks much older. If this was for re4r, wouldn't Wesker look younger? 2. His hairstyle deviates a lot from the usual style that every game has. Capcom couldn't change Wesker's hairstyle for the REMAKE of the game, because it's an important part of it. Changing his hairstyle is tantamount to removing his sunglasses. But that kind of hair is acceptable for a new game. I assume this is how his new style was planned for the future in which he is alive (?). If you've ever seen the "early" versions of re4r, you probably know that in them Wesker has that exact weird hairstyle, which Leon also has in the "hero" skin. I believe that when Capcom added the "hero" hairstyle to Wesker, they were trying to make him look even more like the concept to minimize information leaks among the staff.

3. In none of the games did Wesker suffer an arm injury. In Code Veronica, his hand was set on fire, but the wound is not serious and Wesker is able to heal his wounds in SECONDS. It doesn't make sense to emphasize his wound for a Code Veronica concept. It also doesn't make sense to do a wound for re4r, because in the original Wesker never left his chair at all, and in the remake he didn't get into any serious fights. This wound is something new that hasn't happened yet, but one day will. In all the games, Wesker heals any injuries quickly, but at the end of re5 he took too much damage, so he probably lost some of his strength, causing him to keep his wounds for a long time.

That's the kind of thoughts that visit me when I see this image but don't see it inside re4r. If it's a "discarded" concept, it too should appear officially, like Ada's concept for re8 that was never added to the game.

Did Ethan play the piano?

There are a bunch of little hints scattered through these games about Ethan's character. He seems to have a love for the retro ‒ at least, his drawer is full of jazz CDs and he drives a 1971 Dodge Challenger. As Rose notes, he's clearly a wine drinker. And he may have played he piano.

I don't want to overstate the hints RE7&8 give us on that last part. Resident Evil is, after all, a universe where apparently being able to bang out a full sonata at a moment's notice is just a basic life skill for anyone who might want to infiltrate a suspicious facility (though just jamming a few bars of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star may also do in a pinch).

There's a piano in the Winters' home, but then, maybe Mia's the one who plays, or maybe the BSAA set them up in an already-furnished house ‒ who knows? You can't actually interact with it as Ethan, nor does Rose comment on it. But Rose does wonder out loud if her Dad played any instruments (after he jokes about whether baby Rose banging her spoon to the Miss D. record suggests she's going to grow up to be a musician) ‒ and that at least primes you to notice that piano, if you hadn't already.

There are also two different pianos you can interact with in the Baker property ‒ one in the guest room, which will slam shut if Ethan reaches for the keys, and a second in Lucas' room that merely prompts the message 'it's broken'.

It's not until Dimitrescu's castle that Ethan himself finally gets to make like all those other Resi heros, and bash out a quick solo to open a mini door in the piano, in which you'll find a key that will open another door... look, you've heard this one before.

There's an argument to be had whether any of the puzzle solutions in a video game like RE should be taken as truly diegetic. But if nothing else, this does at least suggest Ethan can read sheet music. Here's the asset for the sheet, by the way (and again with the bit you actually play highlighted). You can hear someone play the full song ("Sogno" ‒ which means 'Dream' in Italian ‒ by Francesco Paolo Tosti) here.

There's even a version with lyrics, though I doubt they necessarily meant much to whoever picked this piece for the game: more likely it was chosen for being a song with a very simple treble clef (so the player doesn't have to do too much work to solve the 'puzzle') but a much more complicated bass (so it still sounds sophisticated when played). Regardless, you can hear it sung here.

There's also one other little clue that might suggest that someone in the Winters' household has some real musical leanings: one of the CDs you can find in that drawer is titled 'Jazz Standard Theory'. Which sounds a lot more like an instructional CD than easy listening (though they're certainly not winning any prizes for those other titles).

Actually, while we're talking Ethan's CD collection, here's the asset for that Miss D & the Pallboys CD too! Surprisingly, it has a back as well, suggesting that at some point you might have been able to pick it up and examine it. The text is all pretty illegible, however.

(I've talked before about the theory that 'Miss D' is actually Lady Dimitrescu, but if you want the short version ‒ given that she's not from the village and is 'descended from a fallen noble', this one's surprisingly plausible!)

Hilariously, a love for jazz might just be one thing Ethan has in common with the Bakers, given you can find some records lying around the rec room upstairs.

Mind you, even RE2R managed to work a jazz festival flyer into this one puzzle solution...

Does someone in the team at Capcom have a thing for Jazz? Evidence is starting to stack up...

But getting back to our original topic, does Ethan play the piano? You can make a case either way, as the game never tells us explicitly. But there's enough here to point that way that I'd like to think he does, anyhow.

Which only makes the implications of this so much more tragic.

one of the biggest mistakes capcom has ever made was literally not making ada wong bisexual. she deserves a big badass woman at her side, joining her and letting ada do whatever she wants, cause she knows eventually ada will always come back to her. which brings me to the second part of my thought:

"And who is this exactly?"

Leon turns around, startled to watch you come close. He didn't even notice you before, so focused that he was on Ada. You wear a spandex dark suit that shows off all your curves. You don't look too excited to see him, crossing your arms, somewhat bored.

"Leon Kennedy. The one I told you about, from Raccoon City."

"Oh, I see."

You analyze Leon up and down, a smile on your lips. Ada has told you all about him, and you want Leon to know. Leon tries to ignore the small stupid pain in his heart as you approach them, the heels in your boots loud against the floor. He ignores the pain again as Ada seems to gravitate at your side, you two sharing a secret look and smile. It was like seeing a secret side from Ada: Leon had never seen her eyes glow like that or that soft smile on her lips. Like she was in love.

It shouldn't hurt as much, but it did.

"I thought Ada Wong worked alone," Leon's voice has a tiny hint of sourness. Or jealousy. Your smile got bigger, sighing.

"It seems there are many things you don't know about her, Kennedy."

You leave the room before he can answer, too bored with this overall conversation. Ada watches you leave, discreetly looking at your ass.

"Your girlfriend doesn't seem to like me," Ada smiles because she knows exactly what he means about the word girlfriend.

"Well. My girlfriend doesn't react very well to the good guys. See you later, Leon."

Ada smiles one more time before joining you. Leon was a somewhat forgotten thought since Ada met you. You were vibrant, ready to meet her snarky comments, and unafraid to cross the lines. Ada would never admit she fell in love, but she didn't have to. Not to you. You see it in her eyes as soon as she joins you.

"Ready?"

"As ready as I can be."

Here’s my little tiny exploration of Luis’ character because it is my god-given duty to pull him apart and analyse him

• Ok so first off………. THE OPENING SCENE??????????? Oh my god there’s S O MUCH TO TALK ABT. Yes Luis dancing is hot as SHIT but also???????? He was about to get TORTURED and MURDERED and he STILL decided to have fun with it and do a lil dance?????? That’s so!!!!!!!!!! He wants to live out his fantasies right until the end!!!!! He truly does think his confidence can get him anywhere!!!!!!! And then when the dance ends he’s READY TO FISTFIGHT THE MONKS?????? NO WEAPONS HES FULLY ABIUT TO GO FISTFIGHT THEM???? He KNOWS it’s a loosing battle but he’s gonna fight tooth and nail to the very end!!!!!!!!!!!

• Also when he turns to face the person who was also dying in the cell and says “this next dance is for you brother” and we get a close up of his face……….. god it hurts to know that that was a person. Somebody who was beautiful in their own right and maybe even somebody who meant something to Luis. Even in the face of death Luis sees the beauty in it ARGHGAGWHSGSB

• Also also I’m sure SOMEBODY could find meaning behind the Flamenco (somebody more knowledgeable in Spanish culture than me) but I’ve heard some people say it symbolises capture and death???? CAPCOM HOW DARE YOU HURT ME SO

Fully Charged has IMO the coolest incarnation of Light. he's an absolute hunky bear of a man, he can throw down hand-to-hand with robots himself, he's an actually-present father figure who looks after his children. like, not just father in the metaphorical sense, as in he spawned Suna Light from his loins and so had to have had sex with a lucky-ass woman (potentially multiple times).

i'm sorry you saw me and your mom fighting, sunshine, but she's got a long way to go before she can take on the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. now let both of us get back to training, please.

there's a lot to hate about Fully Charged, but Light ain't one of them.

and then there's Dr. Emilia Right from the pachislot, whom is the actual daughter of Dr. Ligh--pardon, Dr. RIGHT, which means at some point once again, Lright got down with someone and had a lot of fun with them.

Emilia Right owns, she found a busted robot and her first priority was to make her look cute again and then to make her combat ready after that. she's got a red hair like a squirrel and put gadgets into her clothes just for the #aesthetic, potentially implying that Light went best-of-5 at EVO with Street Fighter's C. Viper.

and then there's the archie AU with LaLinde. the archie run's got a lot of good shit about it, but Dr. LaLinde was originally intended to be a darker-skinned woman with a normal introduction, and then her first appearance is The Love Interest

heart backgrounds with dr. light going AHOOGA HOOGAAW AOOOOOOO HA-CHA-CHA-CHA-CHAAAAAAAAAAAA. i'm not about to say that there can't be love interests in media or that women can't be attractive, i too enjoy a nice pair of knockers whenever i can pull myself away from being correct on the internet. but this has the subtlety of a brick hammer hitting another brick hammer with a face drawn on it. two volumes down the line, i can guarantee you they fucked. nothing may have come from it, since ken penders fucked the entire universe, but i think that just means dr. light got pretty handily fucked by extension.

megaman's got a lot of AUs and a lot of split timelines, even oftentimes within the same subseries. capcom can't write a straight timeline to save their life. someone could be holding the NES hostage, holding their dick in the cartridge slot and yelling demands at bob capcom on the phone like "you write a coherent story or i'll blow this bastard's brains out", and then bob capcom still would insist on putting in 3 extremely important characters that are relevant for maybe 2 minutes of cutscenes. and would still conflict with the lore established in Stage 69 of Area 420 in Megaman Zero 0. megaman continuity would STILL be utterly fucked beyond repair.

whether or not Light fucked has no real bearing on it, as you can see--even the fuck timeline has a lot of splits completely unbearing of the simple binary "did/did not" switch. it's a little bit more complicated than that. see, the question is not so much whether the timeline split is caused by Dr. Light having sex, but rather whether he tops, bottoms, or takes it up the ass.

"Carlos," you said. "I prepared hot water for a shower."

"Eh? Thank you." His eyes flickered between the bathroom and you. The alluring scent of cherry blossom filled the bathroom, drifting into his nostrils.

Lost in thought, Carlos' mind traveled into his tiny little fairytale, where he and his soul luxuriated in a river that bore the delicate fragrance of rose petals. A warm, romantic aura danced above his head and haunted his mind.

With your delicate finger, you reach for his tousled head, childishly delivering mischievous pats until he releases a delightful giggle. "Hey, don't touch my head like that!"

With a gentle turn, he rose and snuggled himself into the cozy cradle of your embrace, eager to smell your comforting scent and to place a kiss on your cute lips. His hands lingered around your waist, pulling you into his embrace, and his body danced gently from side to side.

"Uh, why would I need a shower?" He mused and kissed your neck. "You love me the way I am, don't you?"

You burst into laughter, playfully smacking his shoulder as you savored the cute moment.

"Why, my dear?" you said as you pinched his nose. "I must say you look cute with alluring fresh blooms of cherry blossoms, thanks to my soap!"

He gently loosened his embrace. His obsidian orbs are set solely on you, scanning your details carefully. "Oh, really? Do you love Carlos Oliveira's cherry blossom scent? How cute."

"Stop teasing me, Carlos."

Despite his weariness, he seemed to grow more handsome with every inch of space between you and him. You could still find a glimpse of his beauty in his eyes, and you couldn't lie; his eyes and smile were a reason why you loved him so much. Because with his eyes, he could record a moment with you and him.

"I love teasing you. That's my job!" He drew closer, delicately caressing your face with his nose, placing yet another sweet kiss on your jawline, and making you giggle in joy.

With a gentle smile, he said, "Okay... I'll take a shower, but before that."

He placed his arm on your waist, and with a count of three, he lifted your body so easily. A part of you wanted him to stop, but another part wanted him to tease you more and more. Because he was so adorable when he did that.

"How about you join me in a cozy bathroom and have a nice conversation in our nice bathtub? I know you would love that, sweetheart." He suggested it and playfully winked as he awaited your response.

"Oh, Carlos, my dear, but I'm already showered." You replied with a gentle smile.

He shook his head, leaned closer, nibbled your nose, and let out a playful giggle. "No, sweetheart." 

and he continued. "Well, it isn't a harmful thing for you to shower again, right? Now, I decided to shower together with you."

Both of you shared a joyous laugh as he gracefully led you to the bathroom, where the warm water caressed you, creating a symphony of bubbles and affection. 

Note : Oh, this is my first time writing about Carlos, and I hope you love the way I write about him. It's so fun to write fluff content about Carlos, and I miss this guy so much. I hope Capcom gives him back to us.

Yes my dear, you can. I know of Bayonetta but I haven't had a chance to play it yet, so I'll write about a witch reader. I wrote this as a female reader (since you said witch) but let me know if you preferred it to be gender neutral.

Dante would be thrilled with a witch around. He's a curious man and he sure loves to understand how the supernatural works. Especially since he's seen pretty much everything, but a witch? He still has to meet one.

So when you burned a demon that was going to attack him when he wasn't looking and realized you had no weapons, he had to know how you did it.

"What was that? It almost looked like magic! Wait what?"

It took him very little time to accept that witches are real and showed you off to all his friends. Especially Nero, Lady and Trish.

Would definitely ask for the dumbest things though.

"So hey. Can you trasform this into gold? What. Bills won't pay themselves pretty lady!"

He also would ask you to use your powers to pass him the remote when he's too lazy to get up and get it.

He would be very disappointed to learn you are "just" a fighting kind of witch.

Other than that he would treat you like a normal person, he has his fair share of misfit friends so one more isn't a problem for him.

Vergil would be academically interested in your powers. Whether it be the demonic or human part of him, he would be intrigued and would want to know exactly how and why your powers work the way they do.

You met at Magoo, a shop that sells supernatural and occult books and materials you both were interested in. He noticed how you were struggling to get a book that seemed stuck between two others but, as he went to help you out, he noticed that the book started floating on its own into your hands.

He stared at you with a frown for a moment, conflicted whether to ask you about it or not. Thankfully for him, you asked if he needed anything.

"Show me that again... please"

He walked around you as if to check that there were no tricks.

"How did you do that?"

And that's how you started meeting each other trying to teach him the basics of magic and little spells.

He is so bad at it but don't tell him, he WILL get offended.

At first he only wanted to know about your magic to gain more power, but with time he realized that he enjoyed your company and the fact that you were not completely human allowed him to get out of his shell a little.

Out of the two, Vergil is probably the most interested in your magic and would even go out buying materials and books with you.

I think I read somewhere a long time ago that when Leon was captured by the US government he left out Claire (and Ada) for the most part. While being interrogated he purposefully lied and left out the part where Claire knew the exact same thing which he knew about Racoon City. What are your thoughts on this? I love how he kept her safe otherwise I truly believe that she would have had the same fate which Leon had. And I also believe that it is due time that Claire finds out about his sacrifices. He saved here once fate once in the interrogation and once again in Infinite Darkness. If you could share your thoughts on this it would be appreciated.

I think it fits with Leon's character that we know in re2, but it's still something that is hard to confirm due to the lack of information at this time in the timeline.

What we know for sure from the later games and movies is that the Government was already aware of Ada's existence and her spy work (and Wesker involvement) even before the Raccoon City incident happened.

And Claire has never seemed to hide that she's a survivor of the town's outbreak. Since we see her and Leon mentioning it to other clueless people like a senator and even the secretary of defense himself showing her the dossier they (the government) have on her.

So, if Leon shielded her and protected her from having the same fate as him, the question here is how?

Did he say her involvement is minimal? Did he lie and say she's a helpless civilian he saved and has no skills herself? Did he convince the government that he was enough and he would dedicate himself to his job in exchange for her freedom? Maybe the government itself wasn't interested in making a college teenager an agent, but used her to put Leon in check?

There are so many possibilities about how this could have happened...

But, yes, we all know that, in canon, Leon is always trying to protect Claire and it wouldn't be crazy to think that he did that right after Raccoon City as well.

And, of course, I really hope that one day Capcom shows us how Claire find out that Leon was actually protecting her at the end of Infinite Darkness 🥺
