Solar Return Observations💋❤️🌹

💋This year I have a Virgo Ascendant in my solar return along with 2 Venus returns and Ive been so much more health/beauty focused. Like I care more about myself and am trying to break bad habits that I made in 2023. Im also alot more driven in sports/goals and back when I had this in 2020 I was also into skincare and makeup alot too and was into running and working out. I feel like the year you get a virgo ascendant for your solar return is the year to cleanse bad habits that youve made in the previous year its like a chance to start new.

💋The year you have Uranus in the 11th house is most likely a year where you will lose friends but will also get the chance to make new ones. I had Uranus and North Node in my 11th house last year and my 3 year long friend who claimed we were “besties” backstabbed me and cut me off with no explanation BUT I also found a friendgroup who are here to stay and am incredibely blessed to have met them. This was a year where my view on society and people changed significantly but i feel it was for the better.

💋Last year I had Sun and Pluto in the 8th house along with Moon and Mars in the 12th. I struggled really bad with my mental health(also a Gemini Rising) and my whole personality shifted from these experiences. From January my grandma almost died of cancer, I faced unrequited love, bullying from “friends”, losing friends, and overall felt pressure from school. I was just sensitive to what people said about me and let little things bother me and now that Im looking back none of it was a big deal but I dont know in the moment it affected me way too much. It made me realize that you cant ever really put your faith in people and that you need to trust and respect yourself the most. That you cant be attached to people and your faith should be put in god (atleast thats what I think). Most of the pain came from lowself esteem and I do believe that these placements made me grow a thicker skin and to become more independant. Im a completely different person now and while I did lose my innocence to the world I feel that I can survive on my own now. I guess I just grew a backbone which im really thankful for.

💋Everything that happened last year (like growth transformation death) is all related to the 8th house which is where gemini is in my natal so also keep that in mind where your solar ascendant falls in your natal.

💋This year I have a Moon in Libra in the 1st house and a Virgo Lilith exactly conjunct my ascendant and Ive been getting so much praise from woman its weird? Weirdly guys have been liking my instagram stories and when I posted on my birthday so many people came and viewed my story who dont even follow me. I also feel more pretty and empowered this year and Ive been trying to figure out how I want to present myself more. Compared to last year I feel like I am more upfront with my feelings. I feel like this year I might not struggle as much since im a Libra Ascendant and my solar return is Virgo and almost aligns with my natal chart.

💋My sadness and pain from my 2023 solar return actually really did last until my birthday aka my 2024 return😭 So keep in note that solar returns will remain effective until your next birthday.

💋I have Pluto, Mars, Sun, Vertex, Mercury, and POF, all in the 5th house this year and Im really hoping I can finally meet someone to date for the first time but so far its manifested as being more interested in hobbies/ having fun. Im not complaining tho I actually have been so much happier and I havent cried that much at all from this new Solar Return. I will say I feel like having Pluto in the 5th house will make your view change a bit on relationships. I lost feelings for my 3 year crush and I also feel like its impossible for me to properly catch feelings now. I dont know its like I broke the cycle of infatuting crushes and am way more realistic when it comes to love. Part of it is probably just me getting older but I think thats a good thing. I dont expect love like the movies anymore but i just want something REAL.

shifting tip?

something that really helped me through my reality shifting journey is the mindset change I've had.

I got into shifting in mid-2021, I started trying in late 2021 and gave up in late 2022. for more than a year, I completely cut off shifting from my life. then, earlier this year, in January, I re-got into it. I've tried to shift last night for the first time since January. and damn, I was closer than I ever was in 2021-2022. I actually almost shifted unintentionally last Saturday too. that's what motivated me even more.

now the thing is, since January I've tried learning more about shifting than I already did, I also started learning about manifesting, the void state and the law of assumption. and I started following many shifter creators that ACTUALLY helped me. I built another type of relationship with reality shifting, as I said in a previous post a much healthier one. now I actually know what I'm doing and I'm fully conscious about my dr and I honestly feel more connected to it than I ever was before. back in 2021 I just thought about shifting as something so hard and difficult to achieve and almost impossible, I used to try literally every night, and honestly the creators used to put so much pressure on the viewers with those "don't move while you're trying to shift", "you need a method to shift", "you have to drink 9294992 litres of water per day to shift" kinda stuff.

now I've acknowledged that shifting is easy. it's literally the easiest thing to exist and we're all master shifters.

the tip that helped me the most is

don't put your DR on a pedestal.

imagine there is a tall building.

let's say you are on the 1st floor.

most shifters tend to put their dr on a pedestal, meaning they see their dr on the top floor of the building.

by doing that, you basically see your dr as something "hard to get to", something almost unachievable.

instead, try to put your cr and your dr on the same level. you'll understand you're already in your dr, you can shift there whenever you want to, and shifting will become even easier than it already is.

of course this is not compulsory to successfully shift, but yeah it helped me A LOT and it changed my mindset so much so I hope it can help you too!

1st line: Michkov #39 - Couturier #14 - Foerster #71

Maksim Konstantinov / Len Redkoles / Jason Mowry (header image: Eliot J. Schechter)

Michkov on the first line is the only non-controversial choice here. It was hard to pick between Couturier and Frost, particularly since I believe that Michkov and Frost are going to work really well together this upcoming season. However, I think it's more than likely they want to pair Michkov with a more experienced player, particularly one like Sean Couturier, who is strong on faceoffs - can get Michkov the puck off the faceoff! - and a good defensive forward. Speaking of defensive forwards, I put one of the top defensive wingers in the NHL this season, Tyson Foerster, on the other wing. Foerster is a RW but since the Flyers seem to have completely done away with GAFing about what position wing their forwards play, I put him here and, in this post, will not GAF about L/RW either.

I think Foerster and Konecny would be the only two wingers the Flyers would consider opposite Michkov right now. Konecny for his own strong offensive upside was definitely a plus, but I went with Foerster because I think making sure that their two best defensive forwards are balancing out Michkov's high offense will be a high priority for Tortorella. Foerster also plays a pretty physical game where I don't believe Michkov does...? Someone correct me if I'm wrong there. I think that this top line is a well-balanced line between a vet, a strong winger, and a superstar.

Matvei Michkov, 19-22--41, 47 GP for HK Sochi

Sean Couturier, 11-27--38, 74 GP

Tyson Foerster, 20-13--33, 77 GP

2nd line: Konecny #11 - Frost #48 - Tippett #74

Len Redkoles / Len Redkoles / Dustin Satloff

Purely offensive line. Total fun. Morgan Frost's defensive play is very good, but he's a playmaker at heart and I would love to see this line get some time this season. I do eventually envision Frost and Michkov on a line regularly, as I think (as do many others) Frost's creativity will work well with Michkov's, but as far as opening night goes, I can't see them putting Frost and Michkov together too early.

Otherwise, these three would be fun to watch. In the 23-24 season Konecny assisted on 10 of Tippett's 28 goals, and 8 of Frost's 13 goals were assisted on by one of these two. All three were particularly productive during the Flyers' more dominant period in December 2023 and January 2024.

Travis Konecny, 33-35--68, 76 GP

Morgan Frost, 13-28--41, 71 GP

Owen Tippett, 28-25--53, 78 GP

3rd line: Brink #10 - Laughton #21 - Farabee #86

Randy Litzinger / Len Redkoles / Len Redkoles

Something of a double-veteran presence on this line for Brink, who, while he has NHL experience, spent a multitude of games last year playing for the Phantoms and watching from the press box at the behest of Tortorella. Farabee had a career year in 2023-24 but it didn't seem like it after he went long stretches of time without a goal, and Scott Laughton, the unofficial Flyers locker room DJ, had a much maligned 23-24 season. Not that this is SamuelErssonUpdates's Line for Lost Flyers, but it's a line of guys who you'd love to see do even better. Hoping that each of them move up the lineup at some point in the season, but on opening night this would be a safe bet.

Bobby Brink, 11-12--23, 57 GP

Scott Laughton, 13-26--39, 82 GP

Joel Farabee, 22-28--50, 82 GP

4th line: Cates #27 - Poehling #25 - Hathaway #19

Rich Graessle / Dustin Satloff / Jason Mowry

The easiest decision of the bunch, the Ph(C) line was one of the most cohesive and regular of last season. A solid 4th line of three guys that scored a little and hit a lot, (thank you, Garnet Hathaway) all three are signed to short-term contracts in Philly. It would, however, be nice to see Ryan Poehling Do The Thing again, and if he potentially moves up the lineup this year, maybe we'll see a burst in production from him.

Noah Cates, 6-12--18, 59 GP

Ryan Poehling, 11-17--28, 77 GP

Garnet Hathaway, 7-10--17, 82 GP

Defense

In general, all of these defensive pairings have been pretty well established; they were generally paired together last year, and the Flyers org shows no signs of switching them up unless something surprising happens.

1st pairing: Sanheim #6 - York #8

Len Redkoles / Len Redkoles

These two were the top defensive pairing last year, and they'll be our top defensive pairing this year. York played 82 games and had an average ice time of 22:37 per game; in one stunner of a game against the Canes, he played a whopping 29:01. Sanheim, meanwhile, logged 30% more assists than ever before in his career. These two will be back at it on your TV screen on October 11, I guarantee it.

Travis Sanheim: 10-34--44, 81 GP

Cam York: 10-20--30, 82 GP

2nd pairing: Seeler #24 - Drysdale #9

Jason Mowry / Len Redkoles

Generally considered to be the pairing on which Tortorella will have Drysdale, Seeler's defensive defense will be a solid counterpoint to Drysdale's offensive defense. Literally everyone in the world wants to see Drysdale do well on the Flyers – a healthy, more veteran player like Nick Seeler is probably the best option to round out his play.

3rd pairing: Zamula #5 - Johnson #77

With the return of Rasmus Ristolainen still unclear, and having seen none of the Flyers' prospects in the preseason, this is my current projected 3rd pairing. Both Zamula and Johnson re-signed short-term deals with the Flyers this offseason, and while Johnson will most likely remain a 7th d-man to be rotated in and out of the lineup, if Zamula makes the team out of camp I expect to see him as a regular fixture on the blue line.

I don't know what anyone wants me to say here. this could not more clearly be my fucking guy. the blog is named after him. I am not taking questions at this ti- Stats? Buckle up, fuckers. I love stats and I'm incapable of being objective.

Sam Ersson is tied for the 4th-most winningest rookie goalie in Flyers history. At 24 years old, he has 5 shutouts in 63 career GP; the goalie he replaced had 6 shutouts in 227 GP. He had 4 this season alone, tying Igor Shesterkin (55 GP) and Pyotr Kochetkov (42 GP). With 23 wins in 51 GP, he won more games than Linus Ullmark (22 W in 40 GP), Alex Lyon (21 W in 44 GP), Tristan Jarry (19 W in 51 GP), and tied Jarry (29 years old with 8 seasons of NHL experience) and Thatcher Demko (28 years old with 7 seasons of NHL experience) for games played on the season. He had a 19-game streak of 3 GA or less where he went 12-4-2 (with one game where he entered in relief) and was one of the best goalies in shootouts in the league. In shootouts, only 4 goalies stopped more shots than him, yet he had a better shootout save percentage than all of them.

He had an .890 save percentage on the season. I don't care. The Flyers played 37 games from January 18th to the end of the season. Ersson played 32 of them, most of them with a backup that wasn't NHL caliber (Cal Petersen - sent down; Felix Sandstrom - sent down and traded in the offseason) or not ready to play in the NHL yet (Ivan Fedotov). Ersson was playing 86% of the Flyers' games at this point; for reference, the top 5 most played goalies in the league played:

Saros, 28 years old, 64 GP; 78% of NSH GP

Georgiev, 27 years old, 63 GP; 77% of COL GP

Hellebuyck, 30 years old, 60 GP; 73% of WPG GP

Skinner, 25 years old, 59 GP; 72% of EDM GP

Bobrovsky, 35 years old, 58 GP; 71% of FLA GP

So to recap, rookie Sam Ersson was starting games at a higher rate than 5 goalies that made the playoffs, including one that won the Stanley Cup, one that went to the Cup finals, and one that won the Vezina trophy. Forgive me if I don't take his .890 save percentage as the word of God and the final statement on his goaltending.

He's the starter next year. Tortorella and Briere have already made it clear; Ersson is their guy. Fortunately, he likes that.

Ivan Fedotov should be fun to watch this season. He was phenomenal in the KHL for years, and hopefully will be able to bring that this season with more time to get settled in the area, the team, and in his gear. Like Ersson, his stats on the Flyers tell nothing of the full story, and next season will be a better showing of his capabilities between the pipes.

so my newest fic is.... a post apocalypse mer au!

ehehe!!! :3c i mentioned it in some of the author notes of claw at the stars and im soooo excited to actually finish chapter 1 of it!!! its only like. 30% done so far bc im playing video games non-stop on my writing break but im chugging along xD

the basic summary is that after a meteor strikes the earth (again), humanity has had to rapidly evolve to survive the harsh conditions of rising sea levels and much harsher temperatures. (id elaborate more on some science and biology stuff ive been brainstorming too but that's SPOILERS </3) more under the cut!

long story short, theres evolved people and creatures evolved from people on land and merfolk evolved from people in the sea! plus theres new languages thanks to evolving and changing vocal chords! (reallyyyy i just wanna get wacky with humanoid designs xD can you tell i like doing that yet???)

as for the fic, here's a quick summary of the very basic plot :3

a few decades after this meteor hits, the daycare attendant wakes up from an emergency shutdown in the ruins of the pizzaplex. with no telling of how many years its been, they have to pick up the pieces of where they left off and navigate this new world. with the help of y/n (dats YOU!!!), a mer who ended up on land, they slowly get their bearings and try to settle in to their new life, scrounging for parts to repair themselves in the overgrown remains of cities.

y/n has never even thought about going on land, but of course, the one time they do they have to drag around a robot that doesn't even understand what they're saying. sun and moon, meanwhile, latch onto you like a lost puppy as they try their best to learn the new language and figure out what you keep signaling to them.

(why were you on land? can't say! since, well, it would be spoilers...)

theres gonna be tons and tons of fluff and mystery and adventure and romance and LOREEEEE! all the tropes im obsessed with! and of course vanessa is here too because i love herrrr :3

anyways, i cant share toooo much besides the basic summary since i love being vague and mysterious hehehe but! im nearly done with the first chapter :3 it will likely be out sometime in january, IF not january 1st! im super motivated :3c

DISCORD TIMESTAMPS TUTORIAL

discord has a feature that allows you to use universal timestamps in any channel in any server, and even in dms!

the main benefit for roleplayers and roleplay admins is that this simple bit of code will show people any given time in their timezone and preferred format, according to how their device/application is configured. this eliminates the need for messy timezone conversions when posting about upcoming events, opening dates, etc. (no more 4PM EST / 9 PM GMT / 6AM JST (oh wait, but now we've crossed midnight so what day is that?)... it gets confusing really fast, daylight savings can throw the whole thing off, and furthermore the date "5th march" might be shown in different formats depending on where you are in the world. is 5/3 in may or march to you? see... time is chaos)

this little bit of code allows you to bypass all that and just show people the time and date in the way that they want to see it to avoid confusion - you can even use it to do live countdowns!

under the cut you'll find a full tutorial and explanation. don't worry it's not complicated, it's only two steps long - you don't need to be good at coding or anything!

discord uses UNIX TIMESTAMPS. unix is a form of universal time, presented as a 10 digit number - i won't get too nerdy about it here, but essentially it is the number of seconds that have passed since january 1st, 1970, 00:00 (UTC).

sidenote if you've ever wondered why excel timestamp codes change before and after this date, this is why! again, i'm just nerding out here but it's a fun little tidbit i think.

SO... how do you use it?

STEP ONE

first of all you need to get your 10 digit number. you can just google "unix timestamp generator" for this but i will recommend THIS ONE HERE. (thank you to our lord and savior dans tools)

you'll be presented with a page that looks like this - all you need to do is change the date and time to whatever you want. if you're using this to set the time of an event, make sure you set this time to whenever you want your event to start IN YOUR OWN TIMEZONE. this tool automatically updates based on your machine's local time, so this is important. it also makes it super easy, absolutely no time conversions required from you.

so now copy that 10 digit number, that's your unix timestamp. you've done the hardest part.

STEP TWO

now all you need to do is put this into discord. below you'll find a table of outputs. all you need to do is pick how you want your timestamp to appear and use that code (the input column) with the 10 digit number you just generated

here's an example of how it looks (this is using the Long date/time function)

note: whether it comes out as 12 hour or 24 hour depends on how you have your computer/phone configured. it uses your local settings so no need to worry about date order confusion or anything like that!

Ok ok guys so a lot has happened in the past couple of days.

So, on the 17th January, Fandroid came back!!! Woohoo!!! 🥳

And that’s amazing, right? It is!! 😆 But something fishy happened…

So, today, I found out that apparently both Fandroid and Melody joined the Roblox Game: ‘Starving Artist’.

And obviously, they made some art! But it was kinda ominous, like Mandela Catalogue kinda ominous… (Credits to kronderflopping._ on TikTok for the images):

Now, although you might see nothing in these, I do see something. Let’s go over it:

So, the 1st Picture kind of looks like a Gas Mask.

What were Gas Masks originally used for? To keep toxic chemicals out of you during the war. Fandroid mentioned something about “coming back from the war”. Although people usually say that jokingly after leaving their Social Media Account for a long time, I think in this case Fandroid might be serious. (As in the Character, not Griff himself).

The 2nd Painting has Secret Messages.

Now, this is where it gets very ominous. Obviously, as you can see, this is a sign for help. With what, I might not be sure. Maybe Fandroid is still fighting a “war”, just not a physical one. The ‘us’ in ‘Save Us’ is most probably referring to both Fandroid and Melody, but maybe ‘Us’ could be referring to more than 2 people.

The 3rd Painting looks like a Human.

Sure, this is already creepy, but what’s more creepy is this looks similar to another theory about Fandroid. Ever heard of the Theory where Fandroid could be a human child in a robot’s body? Yeah, this painting of a human looks extremely similar to the fanon human child design. That, or it’s a painting of Griff, or it’s just a random human.

There’s another Painting; it has another secret message.

Now, this gives me major ‘about to introduce a villain’ vibes, or it’s actually Fandroid assuring his fans that he’s there. Or, it’s something else that is saying it’s there. The “Static” kind of looks like Static on a TV. Fandroid’s head is similar to a TV.

And if you thought that was creepy, wait until you see this.

After the Paintings were made, the human painting was pulled up, and this happened:

I’m gonna be honest: I’m not 100% sure what this means. In the first image, it looks a bit like some hands were drawn on, and the eyes have been slashed out with red. Maybe it represents the person drawn went blind? Or something else which I don’t know how to put into words…

The 2nd Image has been scribbled over with red. Maybe that says the person in the image got killed/erased?

The 3rd image has some sort of character drawn ontop of the red scribbles. That could be a New Character, or the thing that killed/erased the person, or maybe it’s the enemy Fandroid is ‘fighting’ with?

And that’s not all, look what what Fandroid and Melody said…

“We are trying to get back.” This sentence feels extremely important. Maybe they aren’t back from this ‘War’, or maybe they are and a new one has started.

“Please don’t forget.” Either this is extremely lore-important, or maybe Fandroid is saying that he hopes we won’t forget him and Melody. That, or something is about to happen that could either kill or erase both of them. (I really hope that doesn’t mean Griff’s gonna deactivate the account…)

And that’s my Theory. Either I have Cracked The Code, Cracked part of it, or I’m insane.

Maybe this is New Lore to a new start of the Fandroid Legacy, or maybe this is a way to put Fandroid to bed and to deactivate the account. (Please don’t be the second one…)

To celebrate our new name, we will be holding 2 events in early 2024:

1. A fanart event, tentatively titled “We Love Jancy,” will run from February 11-14. Yes, we are ending the event on Valentine’s Day… it is Jancy, after all. 🥰

(Artists: more info, including prompts, coming soon!)

And…

2. Once our fanart event has ended, we will start our month long artist/writer collab! Meaning, we want to see all the fics inspired by the amazing fanart from our “We Love Jancy” event. We’d like to pair up writers with artists so they can create a joint masterpiece (fanart and fic). The artists can be as hands-on or as hands-off as they’d like in the process. They can say anything from “Write whatever you want!” to specifying rating guidelines, setting, etc. The only thing we ask is that the fics are Jancy centric.

We would like fics completed by March 20th as that’s the first day of Spring (new beginnings) and s5 will be bringing us new Jancy! So that gives writers a little over a month to write their fics… fics can be any length but we ask that they are at least a Drabble (100 words).

Fic writers, both new and experienced: Please be thinking about participating and sharing your talent! More info on this event will be coming soon…

Artists, as I said above, you can be as involved as you want… it’s up to you! We just ask permission to repost your art (with credit) for this event only. You can obviously also choose not to participate, ofc.

1. I first got into fanart through the Sonic The Hedgehog series, I'd look up renders and try to draw them on paper. What drew me to the fandom was seeing other peoples drawings/interpretations of the characters I liked.

2. The fandoms I’ve made fanart for are: Sonic The Hedgehog, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Undertale, Steven Universe, South Park, Attack On Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, Haikyuu!!, Seraph Of The End, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Yuri!!! On Ice, My Hero Academia, Hamilton, Heathers, Ben 10, The Dragon Prince, Miraculous Ladybug, The Legend Of Zelda, Ace Attorney, Stranger Things (there's probably more but these are the ones I can remember) I don’t do fanart for a lot of these fandoms anymore but sometimes I’ll do redraws of the old fanart for the sake of comparing my progress.

3. I’m not going to do ALL the fandoms but some of my favourite characters to draw overall are Chat Noir (Miraculous), Keith Kogane and Princess Allura (Voltron), Link (Zelda), Godot and Mia Fey (Ace Attorney), Rayla and Aaravos (The Dragon Prince) Armin Arlert and Mikasa Ackerman (Attack On Titan) and, of course, Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers (Stranger Things)

4. My muse characters are pretty much the ones listed above, I always have to sneak my favourites in lmao

5. If I absolutely *have* to get a character in I always find a way to add them into the background or do a separate doodle with said character

The rules of it are pretty simple. At the bottom of this post, I’ve got a BINGO board that is loaded with different tropes, genres, settings and ‘must includes’ that you will use to create a story. I’ve picked these because they’re my personal faves, and they’re choices that I’ve seen in many stories on here. And since the holidays are now officially upon us, I figured I’d get us in the spirit with some fesitve choices.

If you’ve not played BINGO before, you need to either fill in 4 squares across or down (I’d shy away from going diagonal because there isn’t all 4 criteria present…4 corners is an option though) and then use those 4 choices in one story. Remember…ALL 4 must be included to get BINGO!

Important: you’ll notice a * at the end of the box that says Christmas Morning/Christmas Eve. I’ve included that in case you wanted to use that line of choices but would rather use New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Morning instead, OR if you want to use that line of choices, but the character you want to write it with doesn’t celebrate Christmas…or you personally don’t celebrate Christmas.

An example of a possible combination for a fic would be: ‘we’re just friends’, ‘a holiday party’, ‘fluff’, ‘must include: a kiss’ … just in case anyone was confused.

Writing Stats - Quarter 1, 2024

I've always wanted to track how much I write every day. It's my favorite thing about Nanowrimo and Camp Nano is the tracking and seeing my progress in numbers rather than pages. Last December, @sparkstar-trash and I decided to do a mini Nano between the two of us from December 11th to January 14th. It was kind of a success, kind of a fail on both ends, but it did spark (no pun intended) a love for this spreadsheet I had made.

All that to say, I've been keeping track of my writing stats this year and decided that I would do updates every three months (mostly for myself so it doesn't overwhelm me in the end) to see how things change.

Below the cut, you can see everything and how I kept track of things!

I'm participating/participated in quite a few events this year so far. This first quarter, I've been working on: Steddie Love Month, Stobin Month, Steddie Omegaverse Valentine's Day Exchange, Stranger Things Reverse Big Bang, and Stranger Things Big Bang.

I also decided to embark on a 90 Day Posting Challenge to help encourage me to write daily and to make shorter pieces. It's been really fun so far and helped me accept that not everything needs to be perfect to be fun and post. Posting started February 1st, so I'm on day 61 of the challenge today!

Thoughts:

Keeping track of my stats really motivated me to keep writing every day, even when I didn't want to. The monthly prompts and 90 Day challenge have gotten me into a really good habit of writing every day, no matter what, with smaller goals like the prompts being great starters for the fics I'm working on.

March was really tough and I lost a lot of writing time, so I'm pretty impressed I got as much as I did. Things have changed drastically in my life since I started this, which is so weird after three years of consistency, so trying to find this new balance is, well, a challenge. If it wasn't for @lady-lostmind and the Stobin Month prompts, I don't think I would have stuck with writing through my bad days like I did. And for full transparency, there are a few days where I wrote under 10 words that day, but they're still 10 more than I had and I sat down and tried to write. The intention was there, so it counts.

Either way, I'm really proud of myself for getting to this point, I have so many fics I'm working on or have planned and I hope the next quarter is as fulfilling as this last one has been.

Thanks to all of you who have read, liked, reblogged, kudos, commented, bookmarked, and rec'd my work. From vocal to silent readers, you've all cheerleaded me into where I am now and I'm really thankful to be in this position.

Now off to more sprints to see if I can't beat these numbers for the next quarter.

The sixth member of the Young Veins - Yon Garfias

Yonathan Garfias is a musician who worked on Take a Vacation in the studio with Rob Mathes and was the original touring bassist. However, he left the band in March 2010 and was replaced by Andy Soukal, who was the Young Veins' bassist until the announcement of the hiatus in December 2010.

Yon went on to help produce some of Jon's solo music, so there doesn't appear to be too much animosity between him and the band. He also worked with artists such as Tame Impala, Tegan and Sara, Silverchair, and Angels & Airwaves. This is his bio on Soundcloud:

Wanted to let you all know as of March 2010 i won’t be continuing in The Young Veins. It’s been a great learning experience and a very funny one as well. IF HATS COULD TALK

When Alex finds a hat on the subway, he goes to any length to find the owner despite his friends teasing him about it. Luckily for him, the owner finds him.

Alex always hated winter, especially since moving to New York City.  Although it was pretty terrible in D.C., it was even more terrible in NYC, and it made him terribly miss Texas, but his life had changed drastically when his mother had won the Presidency, and he’d chosen Georgetown for undergrad.  It meant living in a cold winter area for nearly four years before choosing law school in NYC following his Georgetown graduation. 

That… might not have been his greatest idea.  He could’ve gone to a warm climate for Law School like June did for her graduate studies (once Alex left the White House, she figured it was time for her to as well), but he didn’t have a boyfriend in California that he was eager to be with like she did.  Although, to be fair, he hasn’t really had the opportunity for much dating as the First Son, too much paperwork.  June was lucky in that regard – meeting Evan before they were First Son and First Daughter. 

Not that it matters, anyway, because he chose NYC and now, he has to deal with that. 

He rushes through the crowd with Cash, his secret service protector, following close behind him as he barely makes the subway.  He knows that Cash prefers that he uses secure cars, but he had enough of not being the normal college student at Georgetown and had insisted on doing it with law school, which meant riding the subway and being a real new yorker. 

He collapses in a seat, taking his hat off and laying it next to him, he’s relieved that something was open and closes his eyes for a minute or two.  His stop is only three stops away, so he doesn’t have long but he was running late and needs a few minutes to himself.  He doesn’t bother to notice the people around him, even as he feels a presence join him seconds after he sits and the presence leaves at the second stop. 

When he opens his eyes to get ready for the third stop, he reaches over and grabs his hat without thinking, and makes his way out of the subway station.  It’s not until he gets outside that he realizes he grabbed two hats instead of one. 

One is his – slightly holey because he should’ve replaced it by now (and no, it’s not the reason that he was so cold and not into winter, no matter what Cash says), and one that isn’t his.  It’s a soft grey hat with an H emblem on it.  The H looks vaguely particular.  Like some monogram he’d seen before, but he can’t place it.

“Cash, you didn’t see who this belongs to, did you?” Alex questions.

Cash shakes his head.  “There were so many people that it could’ve fallen off of anyone.”

Alex hums and puts it on.  “I’ll figure it out later, I’m already late enough.”

“Then, stop yammering and let’s go.”

Alex rolls his eyes but leads the way to the school.  He couldn’t miss any more classes than necessary (he already misses enough due to stuff for his mom), he’ll worry about the hat leaver later.

Despite his earlier determination to worry about the hat leaver until after classes, as he sits beside his best friend and one-time lover Liam for lunch, he finds himself staring at the hat wondering about the hat leaver. 

“You know that it can’t talk to you, right?” Liam teases.  “It’s not going to explain who it belongs to any more than I would have explained to you that us fooling around meant something.”

“Maybe if you had, I would’ve figured myself out sooner and we wouldn’t have lost a year and a half of friendship,” Alex states. 

He’d been quite oblivious and determined that fooling around with Liam hadn’t meant anything – it was totally a normal thing to do as best friends, except, you know, it wasn’t – and even though it didn’t work out with one of the staffers when he was working for his mom (however briefly) on her campaign, one kiss with another guy had certainly thrown things in perspective (especially when he insisted on talking about it) and reaching out to Liam had been one of his better ideas that resolved their issues and put them back as best friends just in time for Liam to take up graduate studies at NYU, too.

“Some things you just have to figure out for yourself, surely you’ve realized this by now.”

Alex huffs.  “I just feel like I know the person.”

“Based off a hat?”

“Well, I mean, it’s embossed – that’s gotta mean something.”

“Are you sure that it’s for a person and not like a brand name?”

“It’s not a brand name, I’m sure of it.”

“Well, then, what’s your plan?  How are you going to find one person in a sea of a million people?”

“I’ve got a few ideas…”

His ideas started with getting on and off at the three stations between his home and the school and visiting the lost and found.  Unfortunately, no one had come looking for a hat and as Cash pointed out, they don’t know when the hat leaver got on or off the train.  Thus, he had to go to plan B, which was to go through all of the different available brand name symbols and make sure the Liam was wrong about the damn thing and it wasn’t just a random name brand.

He asked Nora to help – who found his randomly obsessing over a hat as hilarious and tease worthy. 

“What makes you think the hat leaver even cares?” Nora questions.  “Not everyone gets so easily obsessed with things that they come across on a random subway.”

“Or maybe they’re missing their very precious hat and would appreciate my efforts to reunite them.”

“Not everyone cares a ridiculous amount about their hats – by the way, have you replaced that old ratty one you’ve been wearing yet?”

He hadn’t bothered to answer, and by the end of that endeavor, he had two thoughts: man, he has a thing for people who are assholes to him and that he really needs to control his obsessive behavior sometimes.

Now, is not one of those times.

He wasn’t giving up. He decides that maybe he could try and get on that exact train and that exact car, hoping to run into the hat leaver – even had a note attached to the hat that said, ‘Am I your hat, if so please tell me’.  

Unfortunately, wearing a hat that said that did not help whatsoever and the he did not run into the hat leaver.

All that did was get Alex (and Cash) more annoyed as various people decided to interrupt throughout the day, but definitely were not the hat leaver. 

It was not one of his better ideas.

After that, June suggested that he make a post a twitter – probably because she knew he’d get inundated with tweets back claiming that they were the hat leaver, when NONE of them could even tell him where they left the hat. 

It was a truly terrible idea, but June, Nora, Liam, and Cash all ended up laughing at him for thinking that it was all a good idea.  He knew better than to trust them. 

At the point where he was with June at some event that he’s actually supposed to speak at, he can’t help saying, “I need to figure this out.”

“You know, I doubt the hat leaver as you call them even cares about the hat.  If they’re fancy enough to have it monogrammed, they probably would’ve bought or made another one by now,” June offers.

“No, I don’t think they would’ve, but even if they did, I have to figure out who owns this hat.”

“Technically, it’s owned by you –”

“It’s borrowed by me.”

“– it’s been a week, baby bro, you’re not going to find a random person searching for their hat.  It’s yours now.”

Alex huffs but doesn’t have to time to argue because he and his hat are on for their speech.  Maybe the hat leaver would see him on the news and find a way to contact him?

He could only hope.

Alex can’t help groaning as he stands in the entrance way of the White House (he was annoyed to be here when it was halting his pursuit of the hat leaver since the odds of finding them aren’t high in D.C. when they lost the hat in NYC).  Standing outside in the freezing cold to greet the Prime Minister, Prince Henry, and Princess Beatrice just a few days before the state dinner.  It had been decided that he and June would show the Prince and Princess around D.C. as an attempt to foster a good relationship with Britain.

Considering that he and Prince Henry hadn’t exactly gotten along previously (despite the thawed ice after their near-miss with Prince Phillip’s wedding cake – they had nearly caused an international incident and been told quite frankly that they needed to find some way to be neutral to each other).  The hour spent glaring at each other in silence in one of the many rooms at the palace had only been broken by June and Princess Beatrice insisting they talk out every one of their few encounters and figure out what the problem was. 

It only took one – the first. 

Henry had been apologetic when he figured out what the problem was, and Alex had apologized for not realizing that Henry was a prick to everyone in his grief (even though that wasn’t really his fault – how was he to know?).  They had agreed to be neutral, but that didn’t mean they were friends.

In the few times since they’ve managed polite conversation, but they still didn’t interact much, and he didn’t know what he was going to do for three days while he supposedly showed him around the city. 

When he voices this thought, June, who’s standing beside him, teases, “Maybe he’ll help you search for the hat leaver?  You could go on an adventure searching for hat leaver with you.”

Alex groans.  “I need better friends.”

June just laughs as they pull up.

Alex waits and accepts a handshake from Henry, who pauses, hand still in his, and says, “Is that my hat?”

“Your hat?” Alex questions.  “What – how?  This is a hat I’ve been trying to find the owner for – for a week now, who lost it in New York City…”

 “I – er – I live in New York City now.  I lost my hat a week ago.  I think that’s it.”  Henry lets out a laugh.  “I saw your tweet, and you wearing it during your speech, but I didn’t realize until now…”

Alex takes it off as Henry lets go of his hand.  He runs his thumb over the emblem.  Now, it made sense – it’s H over the royal insignia for the British royal family.  “I can’t believe – I’ve been trying to find the hat leaver since I found it – it’s yours…”

Before Henry could respond, his mother and the Prime Minister interrupt to usher them inside and suggest that Alex and June show the Prince and Princess to their quarters.

“Henry says it’s his hat,” Alex states.  “I told you I would find them.”

“Technically, he found you,” June states.  “Are you sure that it’s your hat?  Because it would be far funnier to continue watching Alex attempt to find one person in a sea of millions just to give them back a hat.”

Alex glares at her as Beatrice laughs. 

“I like you – older sister privileges, teasing their younger brothers.”  She winks back at Henry before asking, “Did you make him dress up in dresses when you were little, too?”

June doesn’t hesitate to confirm as Alex and Henry both yell, “Hey!” “OI!”, but it doesn’t matter because they’re both running off leaving their brothers alone and embarrassed. 

“So… you’ve been searching to return the hat?” Henry asks.  “Why?”

Alex looks down at the hat.  “Oh, uh, I don’t know, really.  It was just… I’ve had the same hat for a long time… if my hat could talk … it would basically be able to tell my life story… well, it’s winter story anyway.  And I – it just looks cared for despite its slightly weathered age, and I just thought… the person who wore it might have a connection to their hat as I do to mine.”

Henry smiles, softly at him.  “I do.  Actually.”

Alex looks up, half expecting him to be mocking Alex’s thought about hats, but he isn’t.  He seems genuine. 

“I’ll tell you my hat’s story, if you tell me yours?” he offers.

“Sounds brilliant.”

He does show Henry his quarters before they go back to Alex’s room, and share stories about their hats.  Alex’s hat is from 2010, the year his father left, and his parents divorced.  It was his last hat given to him at Christmas from his parents – jointly.  It’s dumb to hold onto it, he thinks, but somehow, Henry assures him it isn’t. 

“Sometimes, we like to hold onto the past … and this is a piece of a past that you don’t want to let go of…”

Then Henry explained the origin of his hat.  It was a gift from his father.  He had felt terrible about being away to film his Bond movies, and he taken up knitting so that he could knit each of his children something special to bring home from his filming.  It, too, came from 2010. 

So that hat did have a story behind it.  

They while away the night telling their hat stories (which are really just stories about themselves).  It was as if telling the stories from the hat’s point of view allowed them to not feel like they were bearing their souls to one another despite not really being friends. 

Well, except…

“I suppose we can call ourselves friends, now, after this, yeah?” Alex asks, as the night comes to a close.  They have places to visit tomorrow, and it’ll at least be nice to feel like it’s less of a duty and more of something fun he can do with a new friend who’s not an asshole. 

Henry pauses in his doorway.  “Perhaps we could be more?”

“More?” Alex asks, admittedly confused.

Henry leans forward and kisses him lightly, like a Prince fucking Charming, and damn, it was good.  So damn good.

They break apart, and Alex is quite stunned, but smiling.  He’d completely forgotten that Henry had come out in the last year despite the stories about his foundation and the youth center for LGBT+ in NYC (which is why he was on the subway in the first place when he lost his hat). 

“I know it would probably be a lot to date me, but if you’d like to …”

“… go out sometime?” Alex finishes.  “Yeah, I – I, uh, would.  Law school kicks my ass a lot, but uh, we have our couple of days now and uh, I would – would very much like to date you.”

“Good.”

Henry gives him another kiss, this one a bit deeper, but it’s interrupted by clapping, which jars them apart.

“Finally!” their sisters cheer, which suggests that they knew something that at least Alex didn’t, but he doesn’t find that he minds. 

“Do you mind?” Alex asks.  “We’re trying to have a private moment here.”

“In the middle of an open doorway where anyone can walk passed?” June teases.  “Yeah, real private.”

Alex rolls his eyes.  “Yeah, yeah.  Whatever, you already interrupted –”

“And now, I’m dragging my brother off for details,” Beatrice says, not waiting for a response from any of them drags Henry away by the hand.

Henry follows after her glancing back and blowing Alex a kiss with his free hand.  “Tomorrow, then.”

“Tomorrow,” Alex calls after him.

He turns back to June, who pushes him back into his room and demands, “Details, dish.”

With a stupid grin on his face, he says, “If my hat could talk…”

A year later, Alex grins as he puts his hat in the pocket of his coat as he hangs it up.  It’d only been a week since their anniversary and Henry asking him to move in together, but he couldn’t help feeling at home already. 

It’d been a world wind of a year since he’d found Henry’s hat on the subway, but every day, he’s grateful it happened.  It opened up their worlds to a different side of each other, a side that brought them together as more than acquaintances and potential friends, but to boyfriends… and it’s been perfect.

All thanks to a lost hat mishap.

Protect this kid at all costs!!

He's constantly in battle with Rose for top of the class. He loves learning and Hogwarts is very special to him. Very much a nerd.

Has had a difficult relationship with his dad after his mum passed and because of all the stuff he learned about him in school. Ultimately he loves him though and their relationship is very interesting to navigate through.

He is a very honest and open person, but absolutely despises confrontation and arguments. Therefore he tends to feel a little awkward around people bantering.

Olivia Alice Longbottom

Birthday: September 1st 2005

House: Gryffindor

GOLDEN CHILD! She was hoping to be sorted into Hufflepuff but deep down she knew she was a Gryffindor.

She very much seems like the perfect girl from the outside. She has good grades, is funny and humble.

She is very genuine person and cannot hide her true personality.

Being surrounded by her parents constantly is something she struggles with a lot, though she is not ashamed of them in the slightest.

Deep down she is very insecure about how she is perceived by others and is afraid she comes across as annoying to others.
