Avatrice is the best intentional slowburn wlw ship out there (you can’t change my mind). I will fight for them and Warrior Nun always for several reasons:

1) this representation is the kind we’ve been missing for decades (at the very least)

2) the team behind the show has shown that they’re willing to fight with us

3) this fandom is willing to take the time to fight passionately without blaming anyone but the people actually responsible - the network that didn’t promote the show and cancelled it despite good numbers

4) this show helped so many people (especially people like me who have struggled to reconcile their religion and their sexuality)

5) this show is female led and tells a story where the main storyline isn’t the women fighting for leadership positions or being catty unnecessarily

6) I love found family stories bc so many people can relate to them. We all find people who complete us and have our back no matter what and they aren’t always the people society says should do that

7) this show is genuinely just good. I’m studying film/communications rn and this show has all the components of the best ensemble shows:

a) strong and diverse characters who are not one dimensional or stereotypical (diverse in terms of race but also much more: personality, aspirations, paradigms, backgrounds, etc.)

b) conflict within the main group but also outside of it that play off of each other without being the same thing

c) major character development that is logical and well paced

d) realistic dialogue. It’s scripted but the jokes land when they’re supposed to and fall flat when they’re supposed to

e) the relationships (romantic and otherwise) are realistically complex and fluctuate

f) relatable characters and storylines (Ava exploring her newfound freedom recklessly, the girls all struggling with loss and change and Ava’s attempts to fit into that puzzle without replacing Shannon, Bea’s struggle with her sexuality, Camila’s need to prove herself and show her growth, Lilith’s thirst for validation, Mother Superion’s closed off nature because of loss, Mary’s stubborn fearlessness, Jillian’s loss of her son not once but twice, etc.)

g) natural chemistry between actors that shows onscreen

This show has done what so many have found impossible; It has balanced dozens of categories of expectations - that so many shows and movies don’t even attempt - and it has executed them all flawlessly.

I would like to thank the cast and crew for their amazing work. From one filmmaker/actor to many many more: thank you. This isn’t easy, but you did it, and you’re willing to do it again for us.

thinking about wayne and eddie going on an annual fishing trip (like thee Munson Men Annual Fishing Trip™️) just like a little weekend away. and the first one is coming up after eddie and steve starts dating. over breakfast eddie jokingly complains about having to go and tries to get out of it. but wayne is used to his dramatics so he just gives hmms when appropriate because eddie’s whole spiel never got him out of it before and he tells eddie that.

steve watches the whole exchange with amusement when wayne asks if he’s looking forward to it. and he’s like ??? because he assumed it was just a wayne and eddie thing. and wayne is like i just told eddie all munsons must go can’t get out of it kid.

steve gets flustered and is internally is like oh??? all munsons,,,

or like after the trip a neighbor asks wayne if they caught anything and he pulls out his wallet to show a picture they took on the trip. wayne passes it with ‘here’s a picture of my boys’ and to steve’s surprise it’s a picture of both him and eddie with their biggest catch.

and just idk wayne casually accepting steve into their family and throwing steve off guard with it.

rough art tips to learn and then break at your leisure.

the distance between your eyes is roughly one eye. the corners of your mouth dont extend past the middle of each eye. ears are roughly in the middle of the tip of the nose and the eyebrow. the eyes are in the very centre of the head. the neck is just a Little slimmer than the width of the head (varies with fat distribution, but fat tends to build up under the chin). hair is easier to draw when you plot out the hairline and then where it parts. leaving appropriate distance on the side of the face (cheekbone area and back to ear) contributes to making characters look more realistic/hot as hell. i dont know specific tips for that so use reference. an amazing reference/study site is lineofaction.com . if you think of the face in planes it makes it easier to construct (look up tutorials). if you draw a spiral like a tornado it can help you figure out awkward perspective for extended limbs (look up foreshortening coil technique). tangent lines are when two lines intersect and cause visual confusion (when it looks like a line that defines an arm is part of the line that defines a building, for example) and avoiding them makes your art way easier to comprehend. quick trick to good composition: choose a focal point (where you want your viewer to focus), detail that area the most, and make sure various elements of the piece are pointing to that focal point. you can use colours to contrast hue, saturation, and brightness and make certain elements of your drawing stand out. drawing in greyscale can help you figure out values. using black in a piece isn't illegal but you should know what you're doing when you do use it- it desaturates a piece and if used as a shading colour can desaturate and dull whatever youre shading too. if you use almost-black lineart and then add black to darken the very darkest areas it will do a lot to add some nice depth. the tip of your thumb ends just above the start of your index finger- your thumb also has two knuckles and all your other fingers have three. if you see an artist doing something you like (the way they draw noses or eyes or hair or anything else) you can try to copy that and see if you want to incorporate it in your style <- this is ENCOURAGED and how a lot of us learned and developed our styles. there are ways to add wrinkles to faces and bodies without making the character look a million years old, you just have to keep experimenting with it. The smile wrinkles around your muzzle dont connect to your mouth or to your nose; there should be a small space in between smile or nose and the wrinkle line. eyes when viewed in profile are like < aka a little triangle shape. think of the pupil like a disk and apply foreshortening to it (it looks like a line when seen from the side instead of a full round dot). subtle gradients can add a LOT to a piece. texture can also add a LOT. look up Tommy Arnold's work (his murderbot pieces are some of my FAVOURITE) and zoom in. find those random little circles he added and try to figure out why he added them there. light bounces. there's lots of way light bounces. sometimes it even spreads through the skin. i do not know these light tricks yet but i want you to know that they exist. draw a circle to indicate hand placement, draw a straight line between that circle and the shoulder, and then (normally at a right angle) draw a straight line on top of that line to find the placement of the elbow. elbows are normally placed Just above the hip when standing and your arm is at rest. there are no bad colour combos if you're brave enough about it, just fuck with the saturation and brightness until it works. keep playing. try new things. add your own tips to this post if you want or even expand on some ive mentioned here. good luck go ham etc

Brought up in the book, actually! He taught Peglar how to read while they were on their Beagle voyage and when they came home, he sought Bridgens out again for more lessons. At some point after finding him again, Peglar made the first move on him.
