Okay I’ve been thinking about this and I have a theory.

I think purity of intent is what allows demons to kill angels.

Think about it. It’s NEVER happened before Carmila acted to save her girls. Demons are typically pretty shitty and selfish so it would make sense that it’s never happened on accident and surely some upstart powerful Overlords have tried in the past to take on the angels and failed, otherwise why would they just have an absolute no-engagement policy that only Velvette (the youngest overlord) doesn’t understand.

By the look of the trailer and how things look in the first four episodes, the season is closing out with a big battle with the Exterminators. A big battle containing the Hazbin Hotel gang who have all recently learned how to trust and protect each other.
