genuinely hope the radfems who actually hate men never have a son… parents have a lot of power over their children and having seen the way they talk about boys (the more extreme female supremacist ones I’m talking about here think that 4 year old boys are evil. fyi you as an adult cannot be victimized by a literal toddler… also it’s specifically this point that even made me think of this scenario) and their warped idea of the power dynamics between a mother and her child, I do not think they would treat a male child who is dependent on them well.

it’s with depression that i fear i have to say, i think for a long time (too long really), zuko doesn’t reach out to his uncle during his retirement in ba sing se, not even for the much needed guidance he could use, because he considers it part of the exhaustive list of reparations the fire nation (and he himself) owes

#zuko: he deserves peace too that’s what this is all for #and you zuko? your peace? (he doesn’t know the meaning of the word in relation to himself)#i’m sure iroh reaches out often. lots of letters #but for one zuko’s swamped and pushing himself past his own limits with his responsibilities besides #and for two he’s just as guilty about his treatment of his uncle as his treatment of the gaang if not probably moreso really #it is of course horribly misguided and i expect iroh would eventually show up on his doorstep like you IDIOT boy of mine—!#but until then. zuko is in fact being a self sacrificing and self hating idiot #i also think this is largely true to his character because he has no idea how to uphold normal and healthy relationships #obvi particularly familial #and zuko always deals in extremes when it comes to everything he does #so rather than outright cruelty and insults….he swings in the opposite direction and overcompensates….#by shutting iroh out completely #and justifying it as ‘he deserves peace and i do not’#which is completely incorrect of course on all levels #but he’s still learning and his development arc doesn’t end at the finale of book 3 #ebb and flow. like water one might even say teehee #idk if this is canon to the comics i’m not super familiar with them except for a few plot points and quotes #it just breaks my heart that zuko still doesn’t understand that it is harmful to withhold himself from people who care about him #than it is to supposedly protect them from knowing him and being close to him #he makes me so emo hes so emo i love him so much

I don’t remember much about this specific detail within the series, so I may well be wrong, but I feel like they could have done more with the whole ‘Artemis was technically a prophecy kid’ thing, instead of playing it off as an obscure almost-joke.

#like. if they were going to have to have the whole ‘Fowls and Fairies have always worked together’ thing (which I wish they didn’t really)#- then they could have also done more with the random prophecy thing? give Artemis a better reason to sacrifice himself in TLG than extreme #- guilt PLEASE because even looking back on it now I just do not like how that all was framed. Arty deserved better.#artemis fowl #idk it’s late but I’m thinking about it and while I usually prefer the main protag to not be particularly special #- Artemis is already an exceptional protagonist in many ways so him being ‘just a normal kid’ was out the window to begin with. it would #- also give the LEP a much better reason to never leave the Fowls alone (mostly talking about post-TLG here but still).

I’m just going to come out and say it I think tai lung is getting a redemption in kfp 4

#the reason really all comes down to one shot in the trailer #when the chameleon summons him through the portal and the scene is completely flooded with bright golden light #this might not seem significant but these movies actually have color symbolism that they use very consistently #basically any time a color is prominent in a shot it means something #anyways in the kfp color symbolism gold represents heroism #it’s why po is often shown with gold tinges or in gold light #also probably why tigress switches to a yellow outfit #in kfp 1 tai lung is almost always shown with blue lighting #and blue represents evil #so the fact that this movie is showing him with extremely prominent gold light is definitely alluding to a change in his morality #some people are saying he’s going to have to reluctantly team up with po to fight the chameleon and redeem himself in the process #but I actually disagree I think he’s going to already be redeemed once he appears #bc the scene in the trailer is most likely his first appearance in the movie #also it seems like they’re already doing that redemption through reluctant alliance with po and zhen #my working theory is that tai lung has been reflecting on everything that happened while he’s in the spirit realm and realized…#…where he went wrong and wants to do better #I’m so normal about these movies guys
