In-Depth Rant About Possible Scamster Relationship Timelines Because They Plague Me
okay so! Scamster relationship timeline has been something I’ve tried to puzzle out since episode 23 dropped because the everything about it was so absurdly captivating and Anthony just dropped it and gave us nothing. So originally (and I think I’ve talked abt this before) I had perceived the timeline thusly:
we know for a fact they are together in the flashback in Alright which based on Anthony’s description of the teens most likely takes place a couple of years after s1 bc the kiddads are all still teens. I think 3 years is a reasonable estimate bc if you see the oldest kiddad in s1 as being max 14, that would leave them at 17. I’d say minimum two years and maximum five. Now, there is no way of knowing how long the two of them have been together by the time this flashback is occurring. I think it may be reasonable to assume that it’s relatively new as we know Morgan was still with Jodie in the finale and presumably had to experience some amount of time being together with him to want to leave him. Additionally, the way they talk to each other gives very much “honeymoon phase” energy, not that that’s concrete evidence, but still. Now with the information we were operating under for a large portion of s2, (probably up until episode 45ish if I remember correctly) scam and Jodie were Hermie’s parents, and scam left Jodie pretty immediately after Hermie was born. Working under that assumption, and the long held assumption that Hermie was 15, this would place them as having been in a relationship for about five to seven years (s2 takes place 25 years after season one, meaning Hermie (if he was actually 15) would’ve been born 10 years after season one and if they had been dating starting anywhere from three to five years after season one, there’s the math) WHICH IS A BIG NUMBER. And for a while that was crazy to me, that plagued me right I thought about that all the time.
AND THEN
AND THEN Anthony Burch dropped a piece of information that SHATTERED MY WORLDVIEW. Hermie the unworthy is not a person (or demon scam creature) he’s just a scam and he’s AT MOST like three years old. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE SCAMSTER TIMELINE!!! Here’s the thing. There is nothing Anthony Burch can say that will fully retcon Hermie in my mind as not Jodie’s son. It comes up so much, Jodie sees him that way, literally claims he was “scammed out of a son”, Hermie and Taylor are referred to as related multiple times, there’s nothing you can do to retcon that. Therefore, despite being a creation of scam, Hermie is still technically Jodie’s son. What do I mean by that? Personally, I like to think that whilst creating Hermie, scam knew that it takes two parents to make a child and thus pulled “dna” (I assume it’s like magic bc neither of them are human) from both himself and Jodie, either because that was the last long running relationship he was in, or because it was the funniest option. This, I think, leaves us with two possible options for the scamster timeline.
Original scamster timeline is correct/they broke up sometime earlier, but then three years pre-canon scam likely decided it would be fun to make a kid but didn’t want to deal with baby stuff so he pulled stuff from himself and Jodie to make like a 12 year old and then when he got bored of it not only did he implant fake memories into both hermie and his adoptive parents, but also within Jodie, making him believe that they had a son together 12 years ago but scam ran away with him, breaking up with Jodie in the process
scam and Jodie had actually been together for almost 20 years straight and Jodie was aware of, and maybe even excited about, the kid scam was making, but then scam just immediately whisked him away, implanting him within a mortal family. The reason I say they stayed together instead of breaking up and getting back together is the way jodie talks abt it, it seems as though he was blindsided by scam leaving him. This is obviously the less likely (ha!) option, but I think definitely still a possibility
n e ways, I’ve most definitely considered this in far more depth than either Anthony Burch or Jimmy Wong have, but there is something deeply wrong with me and they plague me.et me know if you have further thoughts or evidence suggesting a more canonical scamster timeline.

Loki Season 2 Episode 5 “Science/Fiction” Thoughts and Theories
If you have not seen this episode of Loki, then please look away right now. I really like this episode and you should get a chance to watch it.
I really liked this episode of Loki, or as I call it “Tom Hiddleston’s audition to be the The Doctor from Doctor Who”. The way he recruits Mobius in this episode literally reminded me of how the Ninth Doctor recruited Rose Tyler in first series. It is so nice to see what everybody’s life was like outside of the TVA. I like how different everyone was. Although, I would say OB being a science fiction writer who is also a physicist isn’t really that different from who he was in the TVA. It was really sad when he came out of the time portal to reveal to everyone that it’s been 19 months and his wife had left him and he lost his job. Loki literally just ruined this man’s life. It’s nice to see Hunter B-15 as a pediatrician; it’s not that different from her caring self in the TVA but when we first saw her in the show, this was not what I would imagine her real life was. Casey shocked me the most since he was a criminal in his timeline; the Casey we know in the TVA is completely opposite to his real-life counterpart. I love that Mobius was a salesman who sells jet skis. That would explain why he has this obsession with them. Although, that begs the question of: do the TVA members know some bits of their lives? Because Mobius has this obsession with Jet skis, the same way he kind of does with his real-life counterpart.
I loved Loki and Sylvie’s conversation in the bar. I think it gets to the point of who Loki is and what he’s been wanting since we met him in Thor. He just wants to be with his friends. Loki, as a character, has always wanted to find a place where he belonged and a place where people would accept him. In the first Thor, we see Loki betray Asgard because he finds out he’s a frost giant. He feels othered by this revelation and he feels betrayed by the people he thought was his people. We even see that in the end of Thor: Ragnarok, where he helps the Asgardians escape Asgard. Sure, he’s doing it to help them but some part of him also just wants to be the hero that gets all this adoration and glory. We also see it in last season’s episode 5 “Journey Into Mystery”, when Loki is talking to the older Loki, who survives the attack of Thanos during Infinity War, the older Loki talks about how he was captured by the TVA because he wanted to come find his brother to see if Thor missed him or if anybody else did. Loki is this kind of sad character that inside this conqueror, malice, and superiority exterior, just wants to find a place to belong. He found that in the TVA. He found a place where he knew for a fact that he’s just this small being in this vast multiverse and there are things he can’t conquer, so he’s finally able to go back to what he truly wants, which is a place to belong and some friends to go along with it.
THEORY:
You know when this season first started, I didn’t even think they would go to the Loki is the God of Stories route but after this episode, it seems more likely that that is what they’re going to do with him. If I remember correctly, just a few years ago, Loki was reborn as the God of Stories, which made him a being of immense power. Not only does he know that he’s in a comic (I’m pretty sure it was in that God of Stories run that he found out) but he can also warp/ change what ever reality he is on; he can make every story he tells into reality. Now, I don’t know how much of that the MCU is going to adapt or to put on Loki but if he does become the God of Stories then he literally can change the marvel landscape immediately. You know how there are rumors that Marvel has plans to change Jonathan Majors as Kang and to maybe bring the old Avengers back? Well, this is one way they can do it if they want.
I’m not saying that Loki will definitely be the God of Stories by the end of this season. Although, him having to figure out whether time slipping’s rules are a matter of Science or Fiction, then ultimately figuring out that it’s a matter of fiction kind of points directly to this God of Stories route. Although, I think his powers would be nerfed a bit where he can only change reality by time slipping to the past and changing the reality through that point. That’s why in the first episode of this season, OB can remember his interaction with Loki perfectly because his new time slipping powers made it so that OB wouldn’t forget.
What did you guys think of this episode? Was there something that I forgot or maybe got wrong? I’d love to know. I haven’t read that God of Stories Loki in a while, so I might be getting something wrong with that, so feel free to add more if you want. If I remember correctly as well, Loki ends up telling Deadpool that he’s in a comic at some point, but I’m not sure when that happened. Anyways, have a good day/night and thanks for reading.

Headcanon game!
Thanks for the ask!!! Just prefacing this saying that I’m a relatively very new FNAF (the videos games, I don’t know much of anything about the book universe) fan! These are just random ideas I have :)
🐻❔Mrs. Emily- Ohh boy this is a character I honestly don’t have a ton of headcanons for yet! I didn’t even think of a name for girly. BUT I once saw somebody use the name ‘Hazel’ for Mrs. Emily and I like that one a lot!! Hmm I can’t explain why, but I totally headcanon Henry as gay LOL right, so my HC is that…he’s in denial for some time about this, gets with a woman, and said woman ends up getting pregnant. Because of this, getting married feels like an obligation to them, I guess. But I HC that the two separated a few years later because Henry was very unhappy and he knew that he wasn’t making his wife happy either. I TOTALLY HC that leading up to the divorce, he’d tell his wife (I guess I’m calling her Hazel now!) that he’d “be at work late” when in reality he was at the bar drinking with William after work and venting about how nervous and unhappy he was…ummmmmmmmm Mr. Emilyyyyy lying like that is not good !!! :( he did not feel good about it tho. Honestly I feel like she got the vibe that he didn’t like the ladies. I HC that after the divorce they’re not on bad terms, it’s just a little awkward. Idk! My headcanon is that Henry loved Charlie more than anything in the world, and hey, Hazel was happy that he was a very loving father to her. There’s that at least lmaooo
❓Sammy Emily: AHHhhhh I’m gonna be so real with you, I got nothin :( I’m so sorry Sammy I’m sure you’re a wonderful kiddo- but I’m like, a person who knows absolutely nothing about the books 😅 when I was like formulating my own interpretation/understanding of fnaf’s lore and characters from the video games I totally didn’t know that Sammy existed so to lowkey just. Retconned him unknowingly so ahh SORRY, SAMMY :’0
🎭Charlie Emily: CHARLIEEE ohhh I love her! I randomly headcanon that she was about 7-ish when she died, but honest to god that is just the first random age that popped into my head. I feel like she’s a rough-n-tough little kid, like a little tomboy. She LOVES being outside, she looooves exploring, she loves being independent and doesn’t understand why she can’t just go exploring alone all the time!! (We later see what happens when she um. Wanted to explore alone at night one time. I’m so sad ). Type of kid to collect rocks and bugs and enjoys playing in the mud and. Man I feel like she either played baseball or soccer. Idk, I just feel like she would
I LOVE to think that she’s fascinated by her dad’s robots! Whenever she gets to go to the workshop with him, she’s fuckin trilled. She peaks her head up over the big desk and just watches with stars in her eyes :’) Henry picking her up and letting her get a closer look at the animatronics-
“Pretty cool, huh kiddo?”
“Uhh YEAHH!!!”
Charlie loves to make people laugh, especially her dad! She loves both of her parents, of course, but she’s a daddy’s girl at heart. Her dad is cool because he lets her eat pizza for breakfast and they stay up late watching movies on the weekends.
I feel like she’s besties with Elizabeth, I just am obsessed with this idea. She likes Evan but they don’t talk a lot, since I feel like Evan was a pretty quiet kiddo. She really likes Mike tho, she views him like her cool older “cousin” :)
Her favorite color in the whole wide world of GREEN. She probably begs her dad to paint her bedroom green. Since I feel like she’s such an outdoorsy kid, maybe green reminds her of nature!
AhhhHh mannnnn. I need a good timeline AU because I love this kiddo. Charlie you’re a real one, sorry your dad’s best friend was a freak

The end of TR was sad for Koko and Inupi??
Spoiler from chapter 278
I’m not sure if I’m just a lunatic, if i’m right, if i’m obsessed by Kokonoi and Inui, or all options above, but something that screamed in my mind during all chapters after the 277 was:
Man, their ending wasn’t as good as everyone else’s.
Let me explain...
I really love this friendship - althought I shipp them as a couple -, and something that anyone can’t deny, even if you are a really fan of, is that their backstory are full of problems and complicated situations. Every step after the fire turned in a fucking and messy problem, Koko and Inupi probably had some heavy mental issues after this trauma.
Inupi’s unhealthy mind wasn’t shown much, in fact, it really seems Koko’s pain was the greatest and Inupi’s not so much. Kokonoi is my fav character, but man, makes me sad how underrrated Inupi’s pain at losing his sister is, for real. Maybe because Inupi got over Akane’s loss? Not sure, but anyway, that’s sad.
Right, so why do I say that the ending of Tokyo Revengers is sad for my beloved boys?
Thinking about the growth of their friendship, probably they weren’t very open for complicated dialogues and all that stuff, and I belive that they only started to be very clear about that after Koko enters Tenjiku, and Inupi brought up his sister’s name and this friendship began to turn out to be a real chaos.
Tumblr media
And after that, seemed like everything Koko did for Inupi was just for Akane. I’m not gonna deny, really had this “I see your sister in you” stuff; that’s one of the reasons that a lot of people dislike this shipp btw.
Coming back, the moment that all Kokoinu lovers are devoted for, is the “Let’s fall into hell together” scene.
Tumblr media
It only existed because Koko was on Kantou Manji Gang, and this gang only existed because Mikey created it! In the newest timeline, Mikey have no reasons to create this gang, and more, not even the Tenjiku gang!
Everything started to be right when the confession arrived.
Tumblr media
Thinking about how the things needed to get really intense for this moment to finally arrive, in the current timeline, they didn’t go through all this emotional confessional and Koko didn’t have that realization.
So they are not that happy, and I think that both hearts still really heavy for the not confession arc.
I'm not saying it was a bad ending, but it could have been a lighter ending for their backstory and traumas, because honestly I don't think in the new timeline they had that moment of saying out loud about their insecurities
And more, in the official character book 2, is writed that Koko hates money - this blog explains better why Koko and Inui new info -, so... See that in the end Koko is making money again, makes me sad.
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie, Kokonoi is hot as hell here.
The only thing that makes my heart more peaceful is the fact that Inupi is with long and beautiful hair in this timeline. Not only aesthetically, but probably there’s some deep meaning in this haircut - where every timeline that Inupi feels comfortable in not show a manly appearance, to avoid Koko to remember his sister's silhouette, he let his hair long -
Tumblr media
He’s so beautiful with this hairstyle
Other POV is that in the new timeline the fire never happened - that's why Inupi have no scars -, but there's no canon proof - at least not that I saw - that can prove it, so I sometimes can't really just accept that everything just ended perfectly.
Akane wasn't shown, so that's one more reason why I can't just say that everything is completely fine. I would love to see her alive and, in the end, create a new scenario where nothing has happened to my pretty boys.
I do love this ideia but at the same time I can't just accept that they are this happy after the reset.

Full JJK Theory (Newest spoilers)
Look at my last post for context!
No because I thought about it more and you guys…I might actually be cooking.
Im pulling out a whole family tree and timeline for you all.
Timeline
We now know that Kenjaku is OLDER than Sukuna and had his ability at the time that Sukuna was in the womb to extract Jin’s soul.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now; I don’t know how Kenjaku does it or how it works because yall im rusty on my knowledge and everything, but Kenjaku had to (or most likely) there when this happened. So what if,
He IS Sukuna’s mother? Bro is a brain parasite, they appear as human; a female specifically, and got this goal of theirs. It became an obsession and finds a man. Has twins, one eats the others so Kenjaku keeps the soul, holds onto it.
Kenjaku leaves Sukuna when he was young to plan or whatever. Sukuna gets sealed (idk how to explain it) with the fingers.
Now that was a thousand years ago in the modern time. Kenjaku was secretly working up the family of Itadori. Once Kenjaku becomes Wasuke’s mother and has him, they leave when he is young as well. Wasuke’s life becomes bitter, meets his wife.
The wife is Kenjaku, meaning the stitches are there. Then, Kenjaku takes Jin’s soul, becomes pregnant. Has Jin, then leaves after some time.
We’re now where you’ll see a pattern I think will be shown later on. The mothers and wives, are always leaving, disappearing, or dying. And when it comes to being a mother to Itadori members, they are leaving before they would really remember them.
This is because when they see the stitches, they aren’t like “wait, my mom had these” because Kenjaku will come back as their lovers with the stitches.
This might be why Wasuke is like “something’s wrong but I can’t put my finger on it.” When he meets Kaori. His wife had the stitches. Kaori now has the stitches. But he doesn’t know what’s going on so he doesn’t have proof.
Jin is just happy that he has his wife back. Kenjaku has Yuji. Kenjaku as Kaori and Jin are now both out of the picture so Jin doesn’t see the possible future as stop Yuji. Wasuke would just be seen has a crazy old man by the time he catches on.
You’re probably wondering, what is Kenjaku doing between the times that they aren’t in the Itadori life? Going between other families (I would suggest the Kamo family I suppose or another one completely) to go into hiding. He can’t go around as Itadori mothers and wives after disappearing. It’s suspicious
Family tree
Now originally in my first post, I explained the family tree like this image right here
Tumblr media
Kenjaku having twins (being Sukuna and Jin), one eating the other, skipping over Wasuke’s parents, saying that Wasuke’s wife is Kenjaku who gives birth to Jin before becoming Jin’s wife and having Yuji.
Which let a plot hole because Wasuke looks related to Sukuna by looks just like Jin and Yuji.
But we can bring this pattern to Wasuke’s parents. Kenjaku could have been Wasuke’s mother who “mysteriously dies or disappears” which could start a main cause in his bitter life. Long before he could really remember her himself.
He meets his wife, who is Kenjaku and has Jin. Also “mysteriously dies or disappears” like his mother. This could explain why Wasuke was so suspicious of Kaori when she appears because if Kenjaku was his wife, that means the stitches were there. Seeing Kaori with similar or the same stitches would make him go on a spiral, but not having enough to prove what’s suspicious exactly.
Here is a slightly more detailed version of the family tree
Tumblr media
Kenjaku would have more control as a woman when it comes to birth so I would assume that Kenjaku during these times decided to be female for this part of the plan. There seems to be a pattern when it comes to wives and mothers in this family.
Kenjaku and Kenjaku’s plan
We know that Kenjaku’s plan has relations with all of humans and curses living as one or whatever. I’m not going to explain that I’ll give myself a headache. But how did this obsession start? Long before Sukuna’s existence. Kenjaku has had this plan for over a thousand years.
With the theory of Kenjaku, a curse in a human body with a human man, made Sukuna. Someone who is human but has the capabilities like curses. And this obsession, this plan, Kenjaku starts the plan. Knowing that Sukuna is the one who can achieve this plan, Kenjaku waits to make the perfect vessel that can live while Sukuna is using them as a vessel. Yuji Itadori.
And for those who say that Kenjaku didn’t have a concrete idea with Yuji and his parents, it can be either Kenjaku lied or this is the somewhat more solid part of the plan.
But I think it was a lie. Reasons is because what would’ve happened if Kenjaku told the ones around them about Yuji being related to Sukuna? Who knows- it could’ve ruined the plan entirely. So they keep it a secret.
But I want to point out that Kenjaku’s plan feels like we haven’t seen all of the hard work put into it. If it’s a thousand years old plan, there’s a LOT of steps that has been taken place. Kenjaku hasn’t taken that many that we’ve seen. And I think because it’s now a more stand and watch, fix a few things here and there. Because the hard work to get to that point has already been done. Which was the ENTIRE Itadori family.
So my theory is

Note
Ive been thiking a little about some things:
1.- I dont remember if one of the Rules of Prismo's Wishroom was that you have to arrive on your own to get a wish or you could be invited, but even if thats the case they could still have Farmworld's Enchiridion (because here there is no backstabbing that ends with the book destroyed) to open a portal so Simon gets his wish the right way.
2.- Talking about Farmworld, I cant imagine how Finn, who has been living with a magical snow mom for a couple of months/years by now, would react to seeing a magical ice version of himself in Crossover.
3.- Continuing with Farmworld, we assume that both that and the regular timeline advance at the same time, so if they go into the multiversal adventure with Finn still being a Teenager, that would mean that Farmworld Finn would also be a Teenager when they arrive. But that could open another story, maybe they find him after his parents and brother died/left for some reason and he is on his own with normal Jake and Bartram, maybe when he meets his future wife AKA Huntress Wizard.
4.- If you think about it regular Marceline its indeed stronger than the Star we saw on canon because while the Star has the powers of all the Vampire Council, Marceline has that +VK pure vampire soul. Also idea, this Star was raised by The Empress instead of the VK, because she was the one who wanted to create an Empire on Stakes and in this AU maybe she trained Marceline to take down VK and get the throne. Also that opens the chance to have Betty saying "Empress! You're a bad Mother!"
answering in sections again:
1. I don’t think it’s ever specified if you have to arrive naturally or if you can be invited when it comes to making a wish — the only rule I remember (and there may be others that I forgot, so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong) is that you can only have one wish per person. as far as I know, Magic Simon should be able to make his wish when he’s first invited to the wish cube in order to explain the Snow Queen situation. however, if you do have to get there naturally and you can’t be invited if you’re making a wish, he’d probably just tell Finn, Jake, and Marceline what he was doing so they could help him collect the jewels and open the portal with their own enchiridion.
2. Finn would probably be very weirded out by Ice Finn, and it would also make him consider the whole Snow Queen situation even more. He sees this version of himself who’s absolutely destroyed by the crown, and then he turns around and sees his mom, who’s just… kinda senile and obsessed with her husband. I feel like that’s gotta mess him up, to know that the crown that made Betty obsess over Simon, also turned Finn into a monster in a different reality. if he talks to Snow Betty about it later, she’ll probably be able to explain the way the crown corrupts and what she was like at the start, as well as Ice Finn’s motivations for doing what he’s doing (because it’s not purely malicious, Ice Finn clearly talks about keeping everyone safe with his ice and trying to protect them), but that will be have to come later since they’re pretty busy avoiding the interdimensional cops when the two Finns meet.
3. you are right, and I actually didn’t consider that before, but I definitely should have. in that case, Farmworld Finn probably still has his wife (could be Huntress Wizard, Phoebe, or even Rosalinen from the Puhoy episode) and might have already had Jay, maybe? but probably none of the either children, and Jay would still be a baby, as would Little Destiny. I think Magic Simon and Snow Betty & co would probably still follow someone out to the crater, but in this case it’s more likely to be Farmworld Finn showing them that the crown is already destroyed, at which point they find the Jewel and decide to use it to find another version of the crown, and then Scarab shows up and they gotta book it real fast. Magic Simon may be way more powerful than he has any right to be, but nobody wants to risk him or anyone else getting put in one of those eggs if Scarab manages to hit them at the right moment. Farmworld Finn runs as soon as Scarab arrives, specifically because the Ooo gang told him to and because Magic Simon immediately started having a wizard showdown, and Farmworld Finn ain’t getting involved in wiz biz.
4. you’re RIGHT, she IS! and you’re also right about the Empress probably being the one to take a front role in raising her, because it seems like the VK is definitely following Empress’s plans here. Snow Betty would definitely yell at her and probably chuck a rock at her head, which I doubt would do anything but it would certainly make Snow Betty feel better. Marceline and the Star also get to have a showdown while Vampworld Bonnie watches and realises that maybe perhaps she has a bit of a crush on this alternate Marceline. just a small one. maybe actually a really big one. regardless, I think that VK is still the one with the crown and is ‘in charge’ of the empire, but he’s a little senile and it’s really Empress pulling the strings and mildly grooming the Star as her replacement if she or VK ever falls.

So I have some THOUGHTS about episode 9 now that I finally was able to watch it, so I’m gonna ramble on about them below the readmore
- The brief flashback to Knives and Vash playing the piano together was interesting, not only in that it means both of them are fairly talented on the instrument, but also because it means the song that Knives has been playing in the times we’ve seen him has been only one-half of the full thing perhaps? I’m sure there’s something quite symbolic about it and how it pertains to the brothers being so interconnected, so I wonder how that might show up later 🤔
- Though I would have preferred to get some more depth to Knives via the scenes with Tesla (since that both showcases the stark difference between their viewpoints and establishes a really good reason for Knives to fear/hate humans so much) I did like that we got to see a direct act that shows the audience just how little the common population thinks of plants as anything more than tools
- “We’ve hit the production limit. They put too great a load on the plants, it cut them off from the higher dimension. They can’t maintain their bodies.” <- I have no clue what the hell that’s supposed to mean but, as the person becoming known in this fandom as the feral plant headcanon-er, I am VERY interested to see if they’ll ever elaborate on that since the manga/first anime never did. *shakes the Stampede series* LET ME KNOW THE SECRETS OF THE INTER-DIMENSIONAL ALIENS
- The ‘Last Run’ scene in general was fairly disturbing, but I know that was the point in order to hit home how Knives so far has interacted with humans (the mental pain had to be horrible, given how bad the distress of a single plant had affected Vash)—but who was the man he was with? Was that supposed to be Conrad? Has Knives already started up his cult?
- Even though Knives totally murdered some dudes, he sure did look cool while doing it
- “Outside of human control, plants use up all their energy in one burst and die.” / “So you bought into that nonsense… No matter how comfortable, chains are still chains.” 🫣
- WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON WITH VASH’S ARM
- “Is that… a gate?” WILL SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT AT SOME POINT THANK YOU
- I find it interesting how Vash losing his arm was not from the direct influence of Knives—either his Angel Arm doesn’t exist, or its a wildly different kind of power. Either way, Knives having to make a split-second decision to remove his brother’s arm in order to keep that ‘gate’ (looks like a black hole to me tbh) from swallowing up everything is a really neat twist on intention.
- I saw a post recently joking about Knives being utterly obsessed with his brother and I thought it was hyperbole. I SEE THAT IT IN FACT ISNT. Knives you are a lonely fucker I swear to god.
- Last episode I was so confused on the timeline and was worried that they had shortened the time between the flashbacks to the present day—and I’m super happy to be wrong! Putting Luida and Bradley in cryosleep in order to prolonged their lives was a very creative way to keep those characters interacting with Vash.
- Meryl being SO surprised and impressed by flowers really hit home that they straight up DON’T exist on Noman’s Land…. which, jesus, that was a surprise. I assumed at best sickly little potted plants might have existed, but none? Very interesting…
- Roberto being pessimistic is really hitting home that I know he’s going to die soon and will likely be replaced with Milly in the following seasons. I really enjoy the way his character pairs with Meryl’s energy and positive realism 😭
- Ngl Zazie the Beast is lightly growing on me, mostly as a neat antagonist since they represent the native species on Noman’s Land before anyone else arrived. Wonder if their alliance will alter at any point…
- “Outside of human control, plants use up all their energy in one burst and die.” / “So you bought into that nonsense… No matter how comfortable, chains are still chains.” 🫣
- Totally thought Luida was going to die either by Vash (accidentally) or Knives (purposefully).

"I’m not fully convinced that JK wants to be working this hard tbh. He loves being on stage, but with some of his latest performances, his energy is different. I don’t know how to explain it, but those that can see it, see it.“
Same feeling here. I’ve been disappointed by most of his recent performances - the fact that I don’t vibe with Seven and even less with 3D surely does not help but still, he does not seem to be that much into it imo. The interviews around the singles were a bit boring, but I find the songs boring anyway so I don’t know why I expected more..He did say recently he doesn’t have as much energy as he used to. I think he’s working hard right now, I hope he’s not burning himself out. I just can’t help but wonder if it’s truly what he wanted or if he wants to prove something, to us fans but also to himself. Which is fine but I just hope he’s not pushing himself too much to prove us something, he has already shown how great of an artist he is. His schedule is crazy these days…
Honestly I’m also disappointed, I was expecting him to be credited at least for one song. I hope it was his choices, if he’s happy with how things went then it’s all good but imo it would have been smarter to go for less songs, like a mini album, but more involvement from his part even if minimal. The collabs, the overhype and Scooter involvement killed my curiosity, it’s like those beautiful cakes you see at the baker but then it doesn’t taste much - it’s not like you won’t eat it, but it’s not as good as it looked like it would be… dumb parallel maybe sorry. I’m sure I’ll like some songs but I’m not expecting much.He was lacking inspiration it’s pretty clear now, and it’s not a shame I absolutely don’t blame him, but I guess he felt pressured to release something big but somehow I don’t feel the connection. I just hope he’s doing okay.
The interview that Bang PD did a couple days ago is linked here: https://x.com/daily_jkupdate/status/1712671267667705932?s=46&t=qPnJMLyaHtW8TW1s2gwVIg
Because these are the facts. We aren’t toxic stans for wanting more or wishing this rollout was different. I’m not a toxic stan for wishing that JK wouldn’t have been pressured to do an album at all, because I don’t think he wanted to, and in this interview, Bang PD even said that JK wasn’t sure about releasing an album. But Bang PD let 🛴 get involved and I’m sure he knows JK’s star power and pushed him into doing a couple songs and then an album. And like I mentioned before, I could see the members producing a solo album before MS (besides Jin who had to enlist right away because of his age) as part of their contract. That left JK with no time to fulfill that because he hadn’t come up with any solid songs on his own.
Western interviews are always awkward. For everyone involved. I think JK did a great job persevering considering he was on his own, but I’m sure he wasn’t too thrilled or comfortable doing it. I’m a music lover, so the songs weren’t my cup of tea either. Seven was catchier and the clean version was more tolerable. But yeah, I’m not a toxic stan or a bad JK fan for not being obsessed with Seven or 3D. I’m hoping that I like some of the songs on Golden and that JK connects with them. Because we know he puts his heart and soul into songs that mean something to him. Re: him recording Letter.
I’m not disappointed because I wasn’t expecting it. JK quite literally told us on lives he hadn’t been working on any music. So, considering the fast timeline, I’m not surprised he had nothing still since it comes out in a few weeks. The collabs and the overhype from 🛴 both suck but I’m hoping that we get some solid JK solo tracks too the ones without features.
I also hope he’s doing okay. I empathize with his position. I love him as a human. But I’m not a mindless robot that burns myself out streaming songs I don’t like all in the name of fandom either. Hopefully, I’ll like some of the songs, and I’ll listen to those. Thanks for sharing your opinions.

Another Spuffy scene from my story that i will be posting in a few days.
After spending a while with Willow Buffy has travelled back to her house, wanting to check on how Spike is doing and also wanting to see how her mother is.
“Mom? Spike?” Buffy calls as she walks into the house.
“Fraid you only got me, Luv,” Spike comments from the living room. “Your Mum had to head to the gallery,” Spike explains.
“Right,” Buffy says as she sits down on the arm of the couch. “Aren’t you normally asleep this time of day?” Buffy asks curious.
“I wanted to watch passions,” Spike explains.
“Right, your obsession with that weird show,” Buffy remembers. “It just finished, right?” Buffy asks, glancing over at the clock and having a look at the time.
“Yeah,” Spike says, giving Buffy a pondering look. “I don’t suppose you’ll be able to tell me what happens next, would ya?” Spike asks curious.
“Sorry, I always tunned out when you and Mom talked about it,” Buffy explains, knowing that because he watched a lot of it with Spike Giles might remember, but she also knows it would be best not to mention him right now.
“Right,” Spike responds, looking amused. “What about you, Slayer? What did you get up to today?” Spike asks, surprising himself by actually being curious.
“I spent the day with Willow,” Buffy explains and as she does Spike realises something.
“You’re worried about her, about what she’s gonna do,” Spike realises.
“Yeah,” Buffy confirms. “The Willow of this time doesn’t know how powerful she is, what’s she’s capable of, and at the moment she’s in pain,” Buffy explains.
“She’s going to do something, isn’t she, something you’re worried about, soon,” Spike realises.
“In a few days,” Buffy confirms. “She’s going to cast a spell so powerful that it draws the attention of D’Hoffryn,” Buffy explains, and she can tell that Spike is impressed by that. “I spent the day with her today trying to gage the state she is in, and I just kept finding myself thinking back on something I was told before I came here,” Buffy admits, finding it easy to talk to Spike just like she always has.
“And what was that, Luv?” Spike asks curious.
“I was told that it might not be as simple as I though tot make changes,” Buffy admits. “The way you were treated once you got to Giles’s, that was easy, that was me and Giles making things right, as the others fell into place, but what’s coming…. It’s not going to be easy,” Buffy admits. “If know one thing it’s that Willow is impossible to predict, impossible to control, or change her mind once she’s decided to do something, and I can’t help but wonder…” Buffy starts to say.
“If she’s going to do what she did in your timeline no matter what you do,” Spike finishes and Buffy nods.
“I’m worried, Spike. I look at her and I see what she does in the future, who she becomes, the last time…. I just don’t know what to do,” Buffy admits.
“What you do is you let go of all that,” Spike tells her.
“I don’t know….” Buffy starts to say.
“You try,” Spike tells her. “The issues, the pian, and betrayal I can see behind your eyes, the Willow of this time hasn’t don’t that yet, right now she is only your best friend,” Spike explains. “I not saying you forget what she does, I assume that’s not possible, but instead you give her support, and let go of everything else you’re feeling; maybe by doing that you can change things,” Spike suggests.
“I…. thanks Spike,” Buffy responds, realising that Spike’s understanding of people didn’t come from his soul but from who he is deep inside.
“Glad I could help,” Spike responds, and the two of them drift into a comfortable silence, a silence that is broken after about a minute by the phone ringing, and Buffy walks over to the phone and answers it.
“Hello,” Buffy says, and she pauses as the person on the other end speaks. “Sure, sounds fun, see you there,” Buffy says before hanging up and turning to Spike. “Feel like coming to the Bronze?” Buffy asks curious.
“What your pals have something to say about that?” Spike asks.
“Yeah, but I don’t really care,” Buffy admits. “This is something I can change, and making sure my friends realise they don’t get to make decisions about my life, and who I spend time with, is something I’m gonna make sure to,” Buffy explains. “So, you want to come help me make a point?” Buffy asks curious.
“Sure, sounds fun,” Spike says with a smirk, reconciling a maturity about Buffy which he assumes is from her coming from eleven years in the future.

Reconstruction of the reset timeline (ch. 277)
Premise: I’m not really convinced about this reset route, but at the same time the chapter was quite moving. However, I’m worried about some characters relationships, mainly Takemichi & Chifuyu, Takemichi & Naoto, Inupi & Koko.
1998: Takemichi and Mikey both time leaped, decide to stay in the past (well, Takemichi can’t go back to the future even if he wants) and so they became childhood friends. Their mission is to create a future where everyone is happy
In this timeline:
Takemichi somehow befriends Kisaki (Takemichi didn’t save Hina? Or he went to meet Kisaki before that event and became his friend? Nevertheless, Kisaki seems to be a good person now)
Mikey still met Draken, their relationship didn’t change
Mikey and Sanzu are still close (it seems that Sanzu wasn’t a founding member because he didn’t like gangs - probably he joined Toman when his memories where rewritten - his relationship with Mikey change a bit because of the scars, but since Sanzu cared a lot for Mikey in the original timeline, he decide to join Toman)
Kazutora didn’t kill Shinichiro and didn’t went to juvie (he probably received more help from his friends and didn’t need to steal the bike to make Mikey happy)
Baji still met Chifuyu (Probably Chifuyu helped Baji with studying or doing homework instead of writing the letter for Kazutora)
Sanzu and Senju don’t have a strained relationship (since Takemichi became their childhood friend too, he probably helped them get along)
Takemichi became a founding member of Toman
So, Toman still exist. Not founding Toman could have been the safest way to create the best future. On the other hand, Takemichi wanted to save everyone* and some thing are not possible without Toman.
*Everyone include: Shinichiro, Baji, Emma, Izana, Kakucho, Mucho and Kisaki. But it’s suspicious that Hina wasn’t mentioned.
Still, if Toman is founded in 2003 like in the original timeline, what did Takemichi and Mikey do between 1998 and 2003? If their plan is to not change history drastically, then okay.
But with the time they have, they could have help Izana before he found Tenjiku (just an example).
Avoid Kisaki plan
Since Kisaki is not a bad guy anymore, 8/3 and Valhalla never happened. However, Kisaki still met Hanma.
I think that Hanma was a member of a rival gang and Kisaki managed to make him join Toman. Kisaki is not crazy anymore, but he is still smart and know how to manipulate people.
10 generation Black Dragons: Taiju, Inupi and Koko
Shiba siblings situation couldn’t be avoided: Taiju began his abusing after their mother died from illness when all the siblings were very young. At the time, Taiju has his own “values”, but he changed after confronting Takemichi.
But the question is, why Taiju still became the leader of the 10th generation?
We know that Izana (8th generation) corrupted the Black Dragons. Shion (9th generation) followed Izana footstep, this lead to the foundation of Toman (because BD attacked Kazutora).
Taiju became the new leader after Inupi invited him. But, in this timeline many noticed that Inupi didn’t have his scar. I have always supposed that no one except for Koko knew that Inupi had a sister. But, maybe Inupi told Takemichi about his family after they were beaten by Mucho (it makes sense).
But the question remain. If Inupi and Koko never shared the trauma of Akane’s death, how did they end up in a gang?
Let’s suppose that Akane didn’t die. This means that Koko never became obsessed with money. Inupi probably still met Shinichiro at the bike shop and came to admire him a lot, making him want to join a gang.
But I can’t explain why Koko followed him (maybe he moved on his childhood crush for Akane and realized that Inupi is more important).
Then, somehow Taiju became involved. The Christmas arc happened in a similar way, but instead of leaving his family, Taiju decide to stay a redeem himself (?).
Tenjiku
So, even if saving Akane from the fire is possible (for example, preventing Inupi and Akane to go back home that day with some excuse - the house still burns, but with nobody inside), avoiding a car incident is quite impossible. This means that Kakucho’s family still died and Kakucho ended in an orphanage where he meets Izana.
The question here is: what lead Izana to create Tenjiku?
“Tenjiku” is the name of the kingdom Izana and Kakucho wanted to create. It wasn’t suppose to be a gang. Also, Tenjiku never existed until the timeline where Kisaki was kicked out from Toman. Also, in the previous timeline, Izana was too depressed for Shinichiro’s death until he met Kisaki.
But in this timeline, Shinichiro didn’t die. But the fact that he hide the truth from Izana didn’t changed. And it didn’t change the fact that Izana was envious of Mikey.
So, Izana still corrupt the 8th generation of Black Dragons and then retired. In the meantime, Toman rise in power after absorbing Black Dragons and this lead Izana to form Tenjiku just to defeat Mikey’s gang (?).
The battle probably happened similar to Kantou Incident (without Kisaki bringing a gun). In the end, Mikey succeed in “saving” Izana and since Shinichiro isn’t dead in this timeline, the two could reconcile.
Eventually, Tenjiku merged into Toman.
Note: I think that the characters are a little more stable in this timeline because the curse doesn’t existed. In my theory, the curse Shinichiro brings because of time leaping had a major impact on Mikey, but affected Izana too awaking the worst side of him. (Reference)
Toman still disbanded in 2006 and 11 years time skip + someone wedding
Well, it’s suspicious that Hina wasn’t mentioned when Takemichi listed all the people he wanted to save. I fear that “someone wedding” will be between Hina and a totally unknown person.
P.S. If this is an happy ending for everyone, where are Takeomi, Benkei and Waka? I’m also suspicious about Takeomi. He was introduced in Bonten, but he wasn’t even present in the last battle.
Also, I’m curious about South. Since Tenjiku merged in Toman, South couldn’t recruit them in his gang. Did he never create a gang or he became the new criminal boss in the future?
What if this happy ending is just a dream? Otherwise, Takemichi really sacrificed a lot for this ending. Not only he died 3 times, he also gave up his relationship with Naoto, Chifuyu, Draken, Inupi, Mitsuya, Hakkai, Senju. They are still friends, but it’s not the same.

How do you strike the line between spending time with pets you know are reaching the end and not obsessing over them? Our almost 10 year old Irish wolfhound cross now has a terminal condition one type of cancer or another we aren't pursuing further diagnostics because it would mean she can't go on any palliative treatment until after the diagnostics so we will never know for sure what kind, but we do know she's not well. She's still herself and her meds have already started helping a little with only a short time on them and with her appetite back she'll start doing better, but I'm finding a hard time striking a balance between obsessing over spending time with her and distancing myself prematurely to try and avoid being hurt. This is the first pet we've had that I was actually aware of her declining health our last dog just took a sudden nosedive that we couldn't logically decide to pursue treatment on because she was actively suffering so this is a new thing for me. You are the best person I could think of to come to on this as someone who has had pets who's health conditions meant you knew they were terminally ill but you didn't have any kind of timelines to look at other than what behaviour and blood work told you
I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through this. I don’t really have any magic advice. Everyone processes grief very differently and the way I do works for me, but may not work for everyone else
I don’t distance myself prematurely. Everyone is different, and if that works best for you then there’s no judgement from me. For me personally, if I did that I would end up regretting it after they actually do pass. When I get to the point that I know one of my pets only has weeks or even just days to live I do try to spend some extra time with them. Because they deserve it, but also because it’ll make me feel better after they go to know I spent that extra time with them.
There are also a lot of good resources online for how to know when it’s time, and your vet may even have some paperwork or websites they personally recommend. I know the first time I had to make that decision it was hard. I questioned whether I was doing the right thing or not. Talking through it with Doc really helped reassure me that it was not just okay to do, but also the right thing.
There will always be grief involved in euthanizing an animal, but you have to remind yourself that it is often the most humane thing we can do. I know that doesn’t make everyone feel better, but it’s always really helped me to remind myself of that. When you’re no longer able to keep your pet comfortable it is so kind to let them go so they don’t have to suffer anymore. When I’ve euthanized my pets there has obviously always been grief, but also some layer or relief to know they don’t have to suffer anymore.
Sorry if this is long and disjointed. I’m not always good at explaining things or talking through my own feelings. I hope that you can find peace in this difficult time for both yourself and your dog.
ALSO as an after thought, I do obsess. I’m not saying it’s healthy, but it is normal. I’ve been through this what feels like a million times in such a short amount of time and I still haven’t found a way to not obsess. I think to some extent it can make for good palliative care. But you also can’t let it rule your life.

rewatching season three of pretty little liars for the first time in a while and i just can’t believe how good the Toby is A plot line is. Like a lot of people really didn’t know what to believe, what with Toby glaring suspiciously in every scene. But I also think that when we actually see Toby doing A stuff, slashing Paige’s tires and attacking Hanna at her job interview, it’s so obvious how bad he is at being sneaky. He almost gets caught by Emily, drops the key, and actually gets caught by Spencer. I know a lot of people say that Toby’s explanation for joint the A team was a cop out, and to some degree I agree, but I think that the writers simply missed an opportunity to fully explain the timeline and motivations behind Toby’s actions. If they had, it would have made it one of the best (and only) cohesive plot lines in the show. And, I know that I’m totally biased because I love spoby so much, but I feel like it also was a chance for them to do something really interesting with Toby’s character.
As far as why he did it, I’ve always firmly believe after 3x08 he went looking for answers and when he found them, he found Mona. From there, I think it could have been so interesting to see what Mona potentially was blackmailing him with the join, or whether he took it upon himself to be the inside man. Either way, I think Toby got in way over his head-again, he sucked at being A.
Anyway, all this is to say: it’s been years, and i’m both still obsessed with Spencer and Toby and still bitter about their wasted potential as both individual characters and as a couple.

Hwidkek it’s a bit long but if you really wanna hear it-
The general plot is that there is this organization, TECT, and they do all these wacky experiments on Pokémon. It isn’t JUST eevees, but those were the only ones I cared about. The specific eevees that are important to this story are part of a project called Project EVOLVE. The plan is to make new eeveelutions, whether that be completely different typings, or just different appearances and variations of regular typings. Some were made to be strong battlers, and some housepets. Battlers were forced to fight in an arena regularly to monitor their progress. Housepets were often drugged and sedated to keep them obedient.
The end goal is to sell these new Pokémon to anyone who could buy them, but most Pokémon ended up disabled and/or undesirable, so they never got sold. The specific lab that the story takes place in has a branch specifically dedicated to failures that the company needed time to find a new purpose for now that their original purpose is no longer possible. There are a lot of Pokémon at this facility, but I’m only talking about the big ones.
I think this entire concept originated with an animal jam roleplay, which is a tad embarrassing and not really important, but a fun fact nonetheless. Also, I drew some quick doodles of the importnat characters, just so I don’t have to worry too much about describing their appearance.
The main character was a shiny Sylveon named Gemstone. She had robotic wings, and was a steal/Flying type. I can’t for the life of me explain the reasoning the scientists had behind giving her full on metal wings when the rest of her is completely organic, I just know that that was what happened. She had not been born in TECT, she was a donation (I think her trainer had been manipulated into giving her up). Nearly from birth she was trained to be good and obedient and subservient and all that. She was let outside of her cage and allowed to just freely roam the facility a lot of the time due to how brainwashed she was. She genuinely believed the pain she went through was a necessary evil and loved her captors. She thought they loved her too. She’s super toxicly positive and often keeps secrets from the rest of the cast. She’s nice and friendly but has a major superiority complex. She’s only genuinely liked 2 people ever; Poole and Pixie (and, very far into the timeline, her children, but I refuse to think about them). Gemstone has been at this TECT location longer than anybody else, and was brought up as a Battler. Those who meet Gemstone tend to like her at first, but gradually realize how brainwashed she is. Gemstone is known for her cruelty in the arena. Her owners want her to be a good battler, so she will be.
Tumblr media
Poole is a manipulative little shit who will do anything to get what he wants. He’s a grass type Umbreon, made as a battler. He hasn’t been at the location nearly as long as Gemstone has (no one has) but he’s not much younger than her. He’s obsessed with escaping and it often gets to the point where he faints from exhaustion, hunger, dehydration, etc etc. He loves Gemstone, and is constantly trying to find ways to save her. He wants her to break out of her brainwashing and run away with him (eventually, she will, but he wont survive the escape). He was defiant when he first arrived, used to a life of solitude and self government in the woods, but quickly learned that the best way to survive, and hopefully escape, is to play along. He’s a strong battler but still known to go easy on his opponents. He’s charismatic yet sharp tongued and bitter.
Tumblr media
Pixie is a fairy type Espeon. She was made to be a housepet and is sedated frequently. Eventually she learns that if she behaves sluggish while off the sedatives, then she doesnt have to be on them. She doesn’t like them. They make her brain slow and they leave her basically defenseless against anything anyone wants to do to her. So she keeps quiet and keeps her head down, only allowing herself to truly be herself late in the night when the humans aren’t listening. She values her smarts above all else. She is polite but tends to keep to herself. She’s good friends with Gemstone and Poole, and is quite fond of Ex.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Ex! He is a poison type Jolteon. You can’t really tell by his appearance, but he is. Honestly he’s one of my favorites just because of how cliche 2010’s emo bad boy he is. He was originally a failed project at another TECT facility, and now roams this one as a kind of guard dog ig? He keeps the Pokémon in line, and his bracelet somehow allows him to relay information to the scientists. They also use to to mind control him?? Don’t ask how that works. Anyway, he’s all gruff and tough and traumatized from being forced into snitching on and hurting his fellow pokemon. He doesn’t let anyone in out of fear of being hurt or hurting them accidentally. Pixie is the only person he lets himself get close to, and she inspires him to try to fight the mind control(??????) and this somehow works. He is a big contributor to how the gang escapes the facility.
Tumblr media
Next up we got Shell, the egotistical and violent water/dark vaporeon. He’s literally so angry all the time. He hates everyone. He had a brief romantic stint with Tundra, but they broke it off due to Shell’s toxic behavior. Shell has been at the facility for a very long time and has been broken in. As a battler he’s dedicated his life to just destroying one opponent after the next. He has not been given to a paying customer because he’s very human aggressive as well. Tundra was the one mon Shell ever let himself get close to, but that didn’t last, clearly. It only cemented his beliefs that he can never open up to anybody ever. He’s vaguely friendly with Poole, but they’re not close. He hates yet respects Ex. He doesn’t pretend to be anything he isn’t. He’s aggressive and violent and it makes Shell not feel so bad about himself. He’s extremely intelligent and knows a lot about TECT. He understands humans better than anyone else but refuses to share his knowledge.
Tumblr media
Next up is Tundra, the normal type glaceon! He has some serious anger issues. He is a recent addition to this TECT facility, where he is being held until they can find a use for him after his failures. Due to his abnormal biology, he’s extremely susceptible to frostbite. I can’t remember exactly why, I just know that it was important that he was susceptible to frostbite. He’s lost multiple body parts due to frostbite, and he’s always uncomfortably cold. That’s why he’s so short tempered, he’s pretty much always in pain. Tundra is much newer to the TECT facility than the others, so everybody else treats him like he’s stupid and refuses to tell him things. Knowledge is wildly gate-kept in TECT, as it’s the only valuable thing they have even remote access to, and have complete control over. This results in a lot of miscommunication, which leads to them not escaping TECT until much much later than they coudlve if everybody just talked to each other. This makes Tundra extremely angry, because he knows that everyone is keeping things from him and that if they just talked everything would be so much better. Shell was one of the only mon who explained things to Tundra, so he grew very attached to him. After he realized how toxic he was, he left him and now avoids him like the plague. He’s grown awfully close with Autumn, and after everyone escapes, they end up together.
Tumblr media
Autumn is just your standard grass type leafeon, with some odd coloration. She was made as a housepet, and is very quiet. She’s always shaking, is extremely nervous and frightful, and barely ever talks. When she does talk, she just says incredibly out of pocket shit and goes back to never speaking. Shes extremely tired all the time but tries to be nice. People forget shes there, and often let things slip around her. She knows a lot. But she doesn’t have many people to talk to. She is close with Tundra, but still isn’t very talkative. She’s more talkative around Void, due to his own extravagant personality, but she oftentimes she can’t bring herself to form words even when she wants to say them. She gets a lot better after getting away from TECT, but is obviously traumatized.
Tumblr media
Void is the youngest and newest Pokémon at TECT. He’s a fire/dark type. The black on his fur will eventually spread until it covers most or all of his body. I can’t remember if that was a birth defect or something TECT did. He is also made as a housepet. He isn’t often sedated, due to his ability to charm the staff and faculty. This makes him incredibly unpopular among other pokemon. They think he’s a suck up and hate him. He plays it off as a joke, laughs about everything and pretends he takes nothing serious. Nobody thinks he’s funny. Void is trying his best to increase communication among everyone, and his contributions to their collective knowledge are vital to everyone escaping. He’s the one who collects maps and finds clever ways to sneak around. He’s incredibly smart but because of his age and newcomer status people still don’t like him. He pretends he doesn’t mind. He does. He craves intimacy but knows he’d never receive it if he asked. Even Autumn and Tundra don’t really care for him. He was only ever a means to an end.
Tumblr media
Most of the story revolves around them looking for a way out of TECT, but there’s a lot of stuff after they get out (I’m not putting that here cuz I’ve probably rambled on enough). Idk if the similarities are apparent, but I honest to god see them everywhere. Everytime Eevee Plex is mentioned in SSEC my brain just goes “holy shit it’s TECT.” Everytime Vay says something shitty my head whispers “omg Shell moment.” These recent updates with Flame and Daisy being silly together reminds me of all those little comics I drew in the margins on my school papers way back when. Miku being all cutesy and then also being a violent lunatic (affectionate) reminds me of the way Gemstone would always go from 0 to 100 in the arena.
I do hope you don’t mind the comparisons, it’s legit so funny/fascinating/fun imo.
I read all of this when you first posted this and it’s all so INTERESTING!!! I can def see all the similarities, it’s WILD LOL, I’d love to see a full series of this or something cause it’s just so interesting!!! ALSO I LOVE YOUR DESIGNS!!! All of the characters are legit adorable (yes even Tundra and Shell) my favorite design is Pixie tho cause she’s cute, BUT I am very interested in Void’s story in particular because poor baby Q-Q I hope he gets the love he craves.

About Nate and Leia: Haha, that’s alright!! My husband watched it with me last night, and he’s a freaking Jay and Leia shipper 🙄 but I love him anyway. I can see the appeal of Nate and Leia, and agree with what you’ve described. I’ve already seen a few people compare them to Eric and Jackie, and I wondered what you (and some other Eric/Jackie shippers) thought about that?
About the fast pace: Yeah, totally agree with you. It felt like storylines and relationships weren’t developed properly/naturally because everything was on this constricted timeline.
About Eric and Donna’s ages: I honestly can’t tell if the showrunners meant to make them 38 on purpose as a way to explain the kids ages (especially Jay’s, because I mean Leia can canonically exist) or if it was just a careless mistake (because, you know, they didn’t rewatch That ‘70s Show, so maybe they forgot how old their own characters were). Either way, they wouldn't have been teen parents though. Eric would either be 35 in 1995 with a turning-15 year old, meaning he was 20 when she was born (or 38 meaning he was 23 when she was born).
About Eric and Star Wars: There are others who share your opinion. 🤷‍♀️ In mine, Eric being obsessed with Star Wars was one of his most consistent characterizations throughout the original show. It is one of the things that makes Eric, ‘Eric’. Hearing him make Star Wars references to his daughter as a nerdy dad made me smile, and it sounds like he’s found fulfillment in a career (still teaching, but also incorporating Star Wars feels very Eric to me).
About Jackie and Kelso: Yeah, Kelso’s moment was much stronger than Jackie’s. Returning with “BURN!” and then his moment with Jay was really funny. Jackie’s wasn’t as funny to me, and I also wish we’d seen her with her son. Do I dare cross my fingers that they’ll return for a season 2?
About That ‘90s Show’s future: Too soon to tell yet, I think. I’m seeing a lot more positive reactions than negative ones, overall, though. And it’s the number one trending show on Netflix. Let’s see how long it stays! I totally agree that shows rarely find their footing in their first season. Let’s hope That ‘90s Show will be given a chance to keep going/trying.

Listening to Home Truths/Drowned World/Guardian of the Solar System trilogy right now. Currently finished p1-2, about halfway through p3. Here are my thoughts & some Steven Taylor stuff
I really liked the first one, it was eerie & well done & I was waiting for them to explain how Sara could be narrating this. Definitely in love with the idea of the house projecting her echo as a way to share more stories from her perspective while acknowledging her death. The ending of Drowned World was probably my favorite. Some things I’ve been noticing now:
You probably know if you’re reading this off my blog anyways that I’m obsessed with Steven & how much death occupies his run. First impressions of “Home Truths” & when Sara narrates “the first body” was oh, okay, another death in front of Steven. Obviously it wasn’t as connected to him as Katarina, Sara, Krell, or the presumed Anne, but still. I guess since I’m looking for it I’m finding it or pretending to find it.
I love episodes with “technology gone wrong” or ai over-serving it’s purpose to the point of harm - while I dislike “girl in the fireplace,” (not gonna touch that corner of fandom discourse yet lol) that’s one example, or also “Swipe Right” with 9 & River. With this story it was less technological & more magical feeling, although I can’t say for sure because I have not finished the trilogy yet. But it’s still the same concept: people subconsciously wishing things, or saying things without meaning them, and the house full of power carrying it out.
That kind of leads into the connection to Ruby Sunday/s14 themes. Sara says, the real Sara, when she was exploring the house, was perplexed. Obviously because they had found corpses, the house was unnerving, and everything was just off. But she explains she was confused & thus looking for a mystery to exist, a mystery to be solved. Because she was looking for a mystery, the house created one, and it became real. This is kind of a like which came first thing because the mystery exists because Sara subconsciously wished it, but you could say she only wished it because of the pre existing intrigue or mystery. Anyways this reminds me of a lot of people pointing out how the confusion surrounding Ruby’s mom, and the build up, the desire to know who this person was, is what made her so important. We wanted a mystery, we wanted importance, so it was conjured, even out of a regular woman.
I enjoy all of the Sara backstory we are getting and more allusions to fixed points in time because that’s such a weird area of time travel like flux vs fixed so it’s entertaining to see it tackled anywhere. The conversations between Robert & the Sara-Echo-House add a lot to this I think because it switches it up from being a lost story rehash.
Anyways here’s my Steven Taylor Death Tally (witnessed)
Katarina
Sara Kingdom
Brett Vyon
Anne Chaplet (assumed)
Krell (alternate timeline)
Dead couple in the House (sara echo)
Like all of the Gunfighters serial
Ok bye for now

Review: LAST NIGHT IN MONTREAL by Emily St. John Mandel
Emily St. John Mandel’s Station Eleven is easily one of my favourite books from last year (as it was for a great many others, it seems). Mandel’s prose is superb, and I really enjoyed her take on a post-apocalyptic landscape. Naturally, after the considerable success of that novel, Mandel’s UK publisher (Picador) has re-issued her first three novels with new covers to match the aesthetic of Station Eleven. They are, however, very different novels in terms of topic and genre. Naturally, I bought them immediately. Last Night in Montreal is the author’s debut, and I read it without even reading the synopsis (it was nice, therefore, to see that what I got out of the book aligns with that final paragraph, above). I plan to read the other two very soon. This novel is very good, and shows the beginnings of the skill and style that would be fully realized in Station Eleven.
The story is a little strange, but by no means in a bad way. It’s literary/contemporary fiction, and follows a similar structure as Station Eleven‘s: there is a main, “present-day” timeline, which throws out hints of events past. Interspersed, and almost in reverse chronological order, Mandel gives us chapters that delve back, illuminating events in certain characters’ pasts that explain some of the otherwise-bizarre and/or inexplicable decision her characters make.
The novel is a nuanced examination of obsession, and also the ways in which childhood trauma can impact lives – directly and indirectly. The characters are three-dimensional, interesting and distinct. It is filled with amusing and interesting observations about language, culture, hipsterism (a little), and the aforementioned obsession.
Here’s one example, an analogy about Quebec and its position on language, French-vs.-English:
“The Québécois are speaking French with an accent so ancient and frankly bizarre that French people from France can’t understand it. It’s like a fortress in a rising tide of English. It’ll be like research for you.”
“What do you mean, a fortress?”
“Imagine a country next to the sea,” she said, “and imagine that the water’s rising. Imagine a fortress that used to stand near the beach, but now it’s half underwater, and the water won’t stop rising no matter how they try to fight it back. Eventually, in the next century or so, it will more than likely rise over the top of the walls and overwhelm them, but for now they’re plugging the cracks and pretending it doesn’t exist and passing laws against rising water. I’m saying that French is the fortress, and English is the sea.”
And another, which is something that resonated with me on multiple levels (it’s a criticism that can be attributed to any number of situations):
“You know what bothered me about it? Everyone was supposedly committed to the pursuit of truth and beauty, or at least one of those things, but no one was actually doing anything about it, and it seemed all wrong to me. The inertia, I mean. The inertia made everything seem fraudulent. There we were, talking about art, but no one was doing anything except Lilia. She was taking pictures. She spoke four languages.”
“Five.”
“You’re counting Russian? Anyway, what I’m saying is that no one was doing anything important except her. She worked as a dishwasher, she lived cheaply, she took beautiful pictures and translated things. She never made any money off it, it was just something she did. The point is, she never talked about it. She never seemed like she was posing. She never theorized or deconstructed. She just practised her art, practised it instead of analyzing it to death, and it rendered the rest of us fraudulent…”
Last Night in Montreal has some rough edges, it perhaps meanders a little bit as the characters indulge in a fair bit of navel-gazing, and it isn’t quite as assured or polished as Station Eleven. But, it certainly shows the promise that the author would fulfill in spades. With a gut-punch of an ending, this is a novel that has stuck with me.
If you are looking for an interesting, well-written novel, then Last Night in Montreal should suit your needs. Recommended.
