Babel Spoilers!!!
Been thinking a lot about Letty Price and her inability to comprehend how the act of Robin, Victoire and Ramy standing up and joining a resistance against Babel was so integral to their identities and experiences as POC and scholars in Britain.
How could they hate and do this to a nation that gave them so much? That gave them literature and translation, education and funding and the ability to expand their minds. How could they turn their backs on that?
She could not conceive that they had been given these opportunities, but at every turn they were disrespected and mistreated for who they were. Given rewards and treats and opportunities with the consolation that yes “you are lesser than” but don’t worry we can beat the ethnic out of you. And to hang that over you, it is only natural to form a twisted sense of self-worth contingent on the whily and abusive whims of their oppressor. The constant need to prove that they were worthy of acknowledgment, of this position. The anger and twisted gratuity for the opportunity, but injustice in being used for their minds and their abilities by an empire refusing to acknowledge them as humans, let alone equals. Stolen bodies and stolen lands.
And Letty, her only framework of suffering was the coddling of a girl in an upperclass white family and the restrictions of conservative social constructs. That while hindering and discouraging, were not a question of life and death or of humanity, but of simple opportunity and intelligence. And looking through these eyes, how could she comprehend such a thing?

Had a bit of a “regression” this past week where I had stumbled upon and subsequently ripped open an old wound.
I’m always trying to shed my grudges, but their claws are sunk pretty deeply nonetheless. Between the gaslighting and the casual disregard, it’s hard to find any closure. I have to make my own.
I broke my carbon pencil 3 times, at which point I had to call it quits.

Never watched this show but I’m noticing a pattern here.
I knew Netflix were fucking DUMB but this is insane.
Inside Job, Dead End, 1899, Warrior Nun, now this, they cancel everything as soon as it’s getting started.
Why even bother.
It’s a disgraceful practice borne out of an endless and immediate desire for more fucking money,
For fuckness’ sake!
Feel free to reblog this.

decided that in my own personal canon, Santiago’s maker looked similar to Louis, simply because Ben Daniels stated that Santiago was very likely in love with his maker. and wouldn’t it be some kind of torture to fall in love with the man who murdered your first vampiric love? to then watch him fall in love with another, who bears an eerie resemblance to that first love? to be witness to something tender and affectionate blooming, every moment a memory of how none of those you’ve adored have ever wanted you back? it would be agony. it would be torture. god, you would just hate them to pieces, loathing even as you loved them. and you wouldn’t know peace - not until the whole pack of them learnt the horror of love, just as you have.

lets take a moment to sob over joel fucking kiviranta, who scored a goal and had two assists last night to make him the avs first star of the game. i am not too embarrassed to admit that i let out the most embarrassing sound of my life before full on sobbing for five minutes after watching him come out on the ice and do the first star interview. the number of times i heard them say on the stream last night that he’s “such a hard worker” and “knows his role and plays it to perfection” and to see this. it makes me so happy for him. he deserves this. he deserves everything.

I’m glad that changes are being made for future shows at the venue but the catalyst for them shouldn’t have been someone losing their life. Concerts are supposed to be a fun and safe time for fans and you shouldn’t feel like you’re risking your health and possibly life to attend. The venue’s negligence and greed prevented so many people from receiving something as basic and necessary as water and resulted in heartbreak for Ana’s family and friends. This tragedy was preventable had the venue chosen common sense and basic humanity over the sake of profits.

Will always be mad that Vin Diesel’s character in the 2001 hit classic ‘The Fast and The Furious’ (plus all 10 of the sequels) was named Dominic, instead of just. Still being Vin Diesel
