Is it to late to say that the X-Men have essentially lost any humanity they had?

So, like, X-Force Beast is a raving fucking lunatic, and I don't feel it's out of character for him to spout this kind of rhetoric - in his reinvention of himself as the necessary bastard for Krakoa, in his process of becoming a born again, hardline mutant rights 'champion,' I feel like it makes sense that he'd be very aggressive about being seen to be a separatist from humankind. It makes 'sense' from a security viewpoint, and it means less emotional ties to potential vulnerabilities, such as old friends, old colleagues - his parents.

That being said, I also do it because I want to remind everyone that Krakoa is very much a dystopia, no matter how pretty the palm trees are and how idyllic the life seems, and there is some fucked up shit that just crept in there. Every single time I heard a character say, oh, that's so human of you, or some variation on that theme, I wanted to start punching the X-Men in the head because fuck you.

But in a good way, to be fair, like, in the way that you hear an obvious cultist say a culty thing and you're like, wow, bro, you're in a fucking cult, maybe you should un-cult yourself before you wreck yourself.

I also feel like it bears pointing out that a lot of the X-Men did NOT do that - people like Jubilee, for instance, whose kid Shogo is just a straight up human, and I very much fuckin' doubt that Jean-Paul Beaubier got away with that kind of shit in his household. And as time went on, I think a good few of them stopped chugging the Kool-Aid and started to realise, hey, did we just become the baddies?

Like, that's the thrust of why Scott and Jean restart the X-Men proper after the team was disbanded, was that feeling of, we need to go out there and save people because regardless of what people can tell us about who or what we are, every mutant had human family that they cared for or loved at some point. Scott's parents were both human, as were Jean's. Hank's parents were two of the loveliest humans you could ever meet. Even Magneto had Anya Eisenhardt.

Most of the X-Men are still very, very human, regardless of how much they might want to occasionally pretend otherwise - hell, you could even point out that the 'least' human among them, people like Magik, aren't even inhuman because of their mutant gifts necessarily, but because of entirely OTHER things that happened to them to change the way they are (though, granted, in Illyana's case, it was at least partly related to her gifts, but you know what I mean).

If not for the Hellfire Gala Massacre, I'm pretty sure a big contingent of people, led by Scott and Jean, were going to plan a breakaway from the Quiet Council led structure of Krakoa and form a new government, or at least push for a reformation of society that was less. Gross. Which means it'll be interesting to see what bearing those trajectories have on what comes after the Fall of X arc is done.

The Fool

upright: innocence, free spirit, new beginnings, potential. reversed: being taken advantage of, inconsideration.

Another tarot card edit, this time for Aspen. They're my glamour bard / archfey warlock who was Pied Piper'd into the feywild as a child. During their untold years there, they learned bardic magic and made a warlock pact with Fin (as in "the end"), the god of death, who lives in the feywild.

Eventually, Fin had use for Aspen on the material plane, so he sent them there. They appeared in the middle of an aspen grove with absolutely zero memories. When someone came across them and asked for their name, they panicked and said the name of the trees that surrounded them.

Aspen is utterly unaware that they even are a warlock, believing all of their magic to be bardic in nature. Fin guides Aspen's actions through a "broken" compass that they wear around their neck, believing it to be their lucky charm. In reality it is a talisman of their warlock pact.

Given those tidbits, it's pretty obvious why I chose the fool as Aspen's card. Not only are does their personality and actions fit that of the fool (innocence, a free spirit), but their story does too (new beginnings, being taken advantage of).

The visual of Fin controlling Aspen's actions through the use of marionette strings has long lived in my head, and I'm so glad I was able to finally pull it off!! I will admit that in terms of framing and composition, this is one of my favorite renders I've ever done.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to give people a heads up that over the next little while, I will be posting content from my session with @yourgigglebugmaya and @sptfrtkl

I will be releasing a story time soon, but I wanted to preface that my session with my two lovely friends wasn't entirely SFW. I know a lot of strictly SFW blogs follow me, so I completely understand if you do not want to see or interact with my content. I will also not be offended if you unfollow me or block me because you do not want to see this specific content on your page.

At first I was worried about this, because I care a lot about what people think of me, especially being somewhat new to a community like this. I also didn't realize how explorative I wanted to be until this session. Coming into this community, tickling was always a platonic, playful thing for me. It still is platonic and playful, don't get me wrong, but I realized this weekend that I became comfortable experimenting with different techniques and tools.

I'm tired of censoring myself. It's what I've done for years as I hid my love for tickling from the outside world. I finally feel like myself and I don't want to be afraid to post content that means a lot to me because it will offend some people.

This doesn't mean that all of my original content will be NSFW going forward, I'm just putting out a warning just to be 100% safe that the SFW blogs that follow me know what to avoid. Posts will be tagged as well.

So I (25afab, with autism and adhd [sorry if redundant it felt needed]) am 5'7" and 160lbs and have issues with remembering to eat leftovers and have a small appetite bc of my meds so I keep some easy snacks around to eat instead of a meal (usually breakfast).

Crackers with cheese and Greek yogurt are the healthy snacks; single serving pringles and cheezits are the unhealthy ones. I will eat one of the healthy ones and one of the unhealthy ones. (I don't know if it's relevant info but these are less than 300 calorie ordeals)

I'm still eating 1-2 meals outside of the snacks. If my husband is working it's one, if he isn't it's two. I'm not gaining or losing weight nor am I just eating them because I'm bored.

I'm usually only hungry between doses of my medication (for example right after waking up I'm ravenous). On days he does work this isnt a problem because then I can just eat my snacks, walk the dog and go about my day; but on days he doesn't is the issue.

It has happend a few times that I've woken up at 8-9am eaten one of my "breakfasts" and walked the dog. Then my husband and I make food at 10-11am and he gets frustrated at me for not being hungry(I take the medication that messes with my appitite at 10am 2pm and 6pm every day). I will eat about half of my food, put it in the fridge for later and then forget about it because it is a never ending cycle with me forgetting.

So AITA for forgetting breakfast/lunch/brunch making with my husband multiple times and forgetting leftovers and for having a small appetite?

(I understand if I am, if you have any solutions I am very open to them)

okay so ive had this idea bouncing around in the back of my brain for a couple months now, but i haven't been able to think of how to make a post about it. so yall are just getting a big text post of my thoughts.

so i've always been a "Lyra and Kris coexist and are friends" truther, but ive had the idea of the reason they coexist and are in the same universe is because Kris is a Faller (or something akin to that) as GSC and HGSS are two separate timelines.

essentially Kris manages to accidentally no clip through reality due to the bugginess of the OG gen 2 games and finds herself in an alternate version of reality. everything seems petty close to the world she remembers but things are... different. new locations she has never seen before like the pokeathalon and the GTS in goldenrod, people like Morty and Pryce having changes in appearance and hardest for her of all the fact that no one seems to recognize her.

Gold, or rather Ethan he tells her his name is, says that he's never met her in his life but that he's always pumped to make friends with another strong trainer. Eusine can't seem to remember her either but is very excited to meet someone else who's passionate about Suicune. Her parents, well they have a daughter who's very much not her. Lyra doesn't look like her, she doesn't act like her, they don't even really have a ton of hobbies in common. Not even her parents remember her.

this is obviously a lot for her to take in at first but the people around her are kind even if they don't remember her and they help her get the hang of the weird situation she's found herself in. she even ends up becoming pretty good friends with Lyra after a while even if it's kinda weird at first. at current she's working as Professor Elm's assistant with hopes of eventually being able to figure out what exactly got her into this situation.

I had a dream that I was reading discourse posts on tumblr about Scott Smajor... because he was being too good a storyteller.

I had no idea, in the dream, what was going on in the Empires storyline (which is mostly true, I've not kept up with a lot this season) but I was reading a post that started with this meme:

And was followed people sharing a thumbnail from a MythicalSausage video where he was doing something completely un-story-related with the caption "How you know everyone else is done and just waiting for Scott to finish".

From there it devolved into a wormhole of reblogs (which I followed in that inescapable hamster-in-a-wheel cycle of a really unrestful daze) of people either defending Scott's storytelling or ragging on about how he was holding the rest of the server captive (yeah. captive) in order to finish his story.

But the worst part was that no matter what reblog I clicked on, no one would actually say what story Scott was trying to tell and it was incredibly frustrating but dream-me never thought to actually like. go to youtube and catch up on videos.

there is no moral to this story it's just ridiculous that my sleeping brain a) is browsing dream-world-tumblr, b) manufactured discourse to make it more interesting, and c) was realistic enough to make sure I never fully understood the discourse enough to have an opinion on it.
