German* food poll but we have meatless options

A while ago everyone did those regional food polls and i wanted to do one back then but forgot... anyway. If you don't eat meat the options can be very limited in (traditional) restaurants around here. I wanted to do one with dishes that don't typically contain meat or can at least be easily adapted. Also yes this is kind of based on both my personal tastes and experiences so it's biased towards southern food, lmao. If you're vegan please just pretend it's a vegan version it's almost impossible to find options otherwise

*yes some of these are technically considered to be from Austria or France but they're still incredibly common in the regions near the border.

earlier in my script (which is not Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar), Antony refers to Dolabella as one of his ‘dogs of war’ when talking to Cassius (which IS a reference to Shakespeare’s JC), and it comes back around after Cicero writes to Cassius and informs him of Trebonius’ fate

While these things were taking place at Rome, Cassius and Brutus were collecting troops and money, and Trebonius, governor of the province of Asia, was fortifying his towns for them. [...] Trebonius, who was captured in bed, told his captors to lead the way to Dolabella, saying that he was willing to follow them. One of the centurions answered him facetiously, "Go where you please, but you must leave your head behind here, for we are ordered to bring your head, not yourself." So. I love this. The way Yuri snickers at Flynn showing his real self. The way he, without hesitation, says "yeah" to the idea that he would die in Flynn's place.

But the most important part of this entire thing, which was changed in the dub, is how Yuri specifically jokes that Flynn is trying to abandon him, and Flynn returns and tells Don he had no intention of abandoning Yuri.

Yuri does not hear this. Flynn knows that. But Flynn uses the exact same term Yuri used earlier, as if it's his answer to Yuri and saying no, I would never abandon you.

For reference:

Personally I just... love the weight of it. How Flynn will say something about Yuri that Yuri won't hear, but he still speaks it out into existence because it's how he really feels.

Just because Yuri won't hear it doesn't mean he won't say it, and in a way that's even more powerful. He's not looking for the credit of saying it. He's not looking to be recognized for saying it. He's not only expressing how he feels about Yuri somewhere that Yuri himself will hear him.

They're just his real, honest feelings, and he'll admit them even if Yuri's not within earshot.

#my personal highlights for this week are - well. most of them tbh.#the Saturday one is new and I don't think I've done 30 minutes with Isa before? that's exciting.#I'm also really looking forwards to the Victoria's Secret Angel one. I've been meaning to try those videos for SO long and never did #so this is my excuse to finally do it! <3 I'm excited. If it's too hard I'll most likely add it again a few times #like the waist shimmy vid! I thought I might add it in the evening during the second half of the week whenever I feel like it #we'll see how often I really end up doing it hah.#but I also wanted to add something new so I put a new one on Tuesday. exciting!!!#I really liked Lottie's energy - I tried her for the first time last week and liked it a lot! she explains things very well imo.#I'm excited about Wednesday's stretching one in particular because i've been MEANING to add more stretching to my routine #and oooooh I'm pumped for Sunday again!!! sorry if this is random but you have such a good grasp on anatomy and proportions in your art!! any tips on how that you’d be willing to share?

Thank you!! My anatomy is far from perfect, but I'm always willing to share what I've learned :)

Here are some things that really help me when I work out proportions

Break things down into basic shapes

I always start with the same basic shapes when I sketch out a pose: head, chest, hips, shoulders, elbows, knees, hands, and feet. They're framework for figuring out how the body is moving. I also use a few reference points when I place things--for example, the elbow should always line up with the waist and the wrist should always line up with the crotch.

these simple shapes also help me when I need to put them into perspective for a more complicated pose like these

I'll admit I'm really bad at this. I don't often use references for my doodles even though i really really should (i'm just lazy). But it genuinely helps! My art improved tenfold after I took a life drawing class.

There are lots of stock photo resources (like adorkastock) that make great practice. If you're trying to focus on anatomy, then I would stick to photo references--studying different art styles can be very useful, but not if you're trying to master the basics.

slight caveat with references though--it's fine to copy a source closely if its just for personal practice, but if you're going to be posting it anywhere, make sure that a) you have permission to post it and b) you credit them properly. Art theft isn't cool, even for learning!

Don't shy away from the challenging parts

A common mistake I see from beginning artists is avoiding the hard bits--hiding the hands behind the back for example. No shame, I used to do it too, but it really does no favors in improving your art. Do it bad! Then compare it to a reference, figure out why it doesn't look right, and try again.

Practice practice practice

Everyone says this, and it can be frustrating, but a lot of this stuff really just comes from doing it over and over and over again. I've been drawing for over a decade, and only now am I somewhat happy with how my art looks (and even then, not always lol!) The human body is complicated, and it takes a while to figure out how it works. Be patient, and give yourself the time to improve :)
