Hello friends! Thanks for your patience with my lack of writing lately. I'm hoping to get back in the swing of things soon. I'll probably keep lurking and trying to slowly add things to my queue for now.

I'm changing jobs soon-ish (in the next month or so because I have to go through a million background checks which is gonna take FOREVER) because my current job is totally ruining me at the moment and my boss has been ego tripping. Don't get me started. But new jobs is less hours and I'll have summers off so!!

Also my grandma died in November and the grief has been a mess of a thing because she was just my favorite all around. I think I'm finally starting to sort of feel like a person again.

Taking a break from datamining to do. more datamining but slightly to the left in that I'm trying to find where all the sfx went. In the meantime I have found every little voice clip in the game which includes like 3 straight minutes of varied "oof"s and "URGHH!!"s from all the characters but ALSO Avlora's many incredible voice lines.

Sixteen

The moon is full tonight, cascading over their makeshift blanket laid out in the back of Tyler’s truck bed parked on the hill that overlooks the cemetery. While it’s not the most comfortable arrangement in the world, Buck wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. His entire body is still crackling with electricity, a pleasant buzz that only comes when he’s doing something he’s not supposed to. Sneaking out of his bedroom and down the lattice to meet Tyler down the road makes something sizzle and pop in his blood. He can imagine how furious his parents would be if they found out. How worried that their only son would partake in late night drinking and trespassing.  

“Are you trying out for the team this year?” Tyler asks after a few moments of comfortable silence.

“Depends.” Buck says with a frown, shrugging his shoulders.

“Is it your parents or grades?” Tyler’s voice softens as he traces the lip of the bottle with his thumb.

“Both.” Buck lets out a self-deprecating laugh. “But it’s not my fault Mr. Harris hates me.”

“No,” Tyler hums in agreement, “it’s not. He’s a grade A dick and he doesn’t understand that everyone learns differently.”

Buck blinks up at Tyler with wide, wide eyes. He doesn’t think he’s heard anyone come to his defense before when it came to school. He’s not stupid, he loves to learn, but paying attention and sitting still aren’t things he’s good at, especially if the material isn’t even remotely interesting. He hyper fixates on the less important things which makes taking tests difficult. He knows Tyler has trouble reading. Dyslexia Tyler had told him unashamedly one day when they were working on homework together. Buck wished he knew what was wrong with him, but his parents hadn’t seemed to care too much as long as he was passing.

Mega Man 10 features a triad of playable characters— Mega Man, Proto Man, and Bass. Unlike the former two, Mega Man 10 was Bass's first 8-Bit outing (Not counting his very minor cameo in Mega Man 9), and his faux NES sprite is... off. It's not a bad sprite by any means, but his color palette and posture being much too close to Rock's never quite sat right with me.

But what would Bass look like in my spriting style? Well... here's your answer! ✨

Mud

Michael, at this point still just a poochyena, pushed his nose through the soft mud, searching for trapped ground type pokemon. Michael and Brandy were helping out Hoenn’s desert ranger base, and had been called in to do some environmental maintenance after a trainer battle went a little too far. The trainer’s swampert had flooded the normally dry, arid area, creating an sudden patch of quicksand. The local pokemon, who were evolved to survive in dry climates, suddenly found themselves trapped and waterlogged.

With Michael’s keen sense of smell the duo was able to save…most of the pokemon from drowning. The trainer, of course, had long since left the scene without so much as a passing thought for the consequences of what they had done. As far as Brandy could tell, consequences were not a thing trainers worried about – that’s what rangers seemed to be for.
