Summary: Pulling off the "No Strings Attached" arrangement with his best-friend-turned-best-friend-with-benefits was easy, but when a new condition is added onto the mix, Mingyu didn't realise just how much he held onto you when you finally let go.

Hello, my darlings! Finally getting round to posting this after missing the commited date last time due to covid. But welcome!!! 🥳 This is the first story to my Snap Shoot universe! Before you get into it, let me just point a few things. This is the first time I'm ever creating a universe with interwoven stories, and while I've done SMAUs before, this is the first one I've done for SVT and the first time I'm also this adventurous about it. It's definitely very different from what I post on here but I'm having lots of fun putting it together. I know it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, this is very much a work of fiction. This is an AU. While Korea may be the assumed setting for this series, it is not explicitly defined. I'm also trying to avoid using lots of Korean cultural references (maybe except for food) such as use of honorifics like "hyung". While many of my other works refrain from over-describing oc's physical features, you may find that in this series (and universe), oc's features will inevitably be defined. You'll find that the visuals of the characters and the aesthetic of the photos/social media posts will be Korean/ Asian. It's a SMAU, so i'll have to place photos and these photos must maintain consistent. I absolutely do not mean any ill intention of being non-inclusive (I don't even fit the same aesthetic as oc).

Again, it's a work of fiction, while I want you to relate to oc, kindly also allow me breathing space to build the character. If you feel uncomfortable at any point in the series, you are very much welcome to stop/unfollow. As mentioned, this is a SMAU, but it contains several chapters which are purely written narrations. All edits (texts, social media posts, etc.) were done by me, however some photos (esp those of Y/N) are from the web, if they are yours, please let me know so that I may credit you or remove the photo. The texts are all done on light mode. Deal with it. This follows a FWB trope, expect lots of smut and suggestive content— specific smut warnings will be available in chapters where they are present, along with other necessary warnings. This series will have lots of fluff and lots of crackhead nonsense humor. I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Meet the Characters

Mingyu: Sophomore, studying Film & Photography, yn/Camie's best friend since childhood

Yn: Sophomore, studying Film & Photography with Mingyu, Mingyu's best friend since childhood. Nicknamed "Camie" by her group of friends for her highly concerning camera collection/obsession.

Seokmin: Sophomore, studying Film & Photography, same friend group as mingyu and yn, Mingyu & Wonwoo's housemate

Soonyoung: technically a year older than the 3, but currently a Sophomore with Gyu, Cam and Seokmin after shifting into their major

Wonwoo: Junior, studying Film & Photography as well, Mingyu's guy best friend and housemate in The Man Cave, a brotherly figure to OC, Soonyoung's former classmate in highschool

The Man Cave: shared house near their university where Mingyu, Wonwoo and Seokmin live, and Soonyoung often crashes.

More of a question to expand on than a detailed request, but would raph help a teacher reader grade papers?? Would he get invested in gossip on the kids??

I was zoning out and somehow thought about elementary school teacher readers, coming back to the lair with papers to grade, Donnie getting angry over the lesson plans you have to use, etc. And then, like always, raph thoughts(I am unbelievably gushy to raph x lil sweet cheery readers) Being oh so sleepy tired but still having work to do. Grading papers, getting activities printed and cut, weekly plans. I'd like to imagine he helps to get you to sleep faster, all the while listening to the venty yapping about which kids are troublemakers

Sorry this took so long. I want you to know that this started out as a simple fluffy fic, but Red disagreed. He wanted to make you smile.

I'm going to be splitting this into 4 parts (+ an epilogue) to make it easier to read because I accidentally went over the character limit in my notes app *twice*. I wasn't aware you could accidentally write a whole ass fic, but here we are. 😅

"Come on, babe, please?"

You sigh, whining, "Raph..."

"I gotta head out early, you'll be asleep by the time I get back," he pleaded. He was only working a half night, but he had to leave right at sunset and head across town, so he wouldn't be home until well after 1:00 am, and you had school in the morning.

It had been a long day, and it still wasn't over yet.

You really did like your job. The kids were great, even when they misbehaved it wasn't their fault. There were just too many of them and not enough of you. You couldn't watch everybody all the time, but you still had to try. Third grade was a lot. Especially when you were managing 27 kids (you're grateful, you have colleagues managing 40+, and it's a fucking zoo).

Still, you tried to make things fun for them. Halloween is tomorrow, and you don't want to do the traditional boring "spooky" theme. So, you've decided to teach an entire class of 8-9 year olds a little bit about applied chemistry.

You were actually really excited! You'd picked up a bunch of foam pumpkins at the dollar store, which were currently being dragged in a cart behind you. You were planning on carving them into jack o'lanterns and teaching the kids how to make elephant toothpaste to ooze out of the holes. It's was going to be the most beautiful chaos, and with any luck, a memorable experience.

There was only one problem, you'd been dealing with meetings and trainings all week and unable to actually carve the damn pumpkins. Today there was an outage in part of the building, so you had to wait two hours to use the one copier available, and by the time you walked out you had zero gas left in the tank. You wanted to go home and finish your work so you could go to bed.

You reach the top of the stairs, exiting the subway at street level. The lair is literally in the opposite direction. You look south, towards your apartment.

"Please?" He asks again, his voice softening. You haven't seen him in days and you can hear in his voice that it's taking as much of a toll on him as it is you. "I'll help you with your school shit, whatever, I just... I gotta see you. Please?"

You sigh and turn around, heading north. You miss him, too.

He meets you at the door to the elevator, and despite your exhaustion, you can't help but smile. He had that effect. Comfort, safety, peace, love... Raphael is Home. And the moment you step inside his arms all of your tension melts away. Almost.

He picks you up in his arms and squeezes you tightly, swinging you gently back and forth as he buries his nose in your hair. He breathes you in and grins, chuckling quietly as you squeeze him back and press your face against his neck.

"What're you laughing at?" you ask, suspicious. He was way more... something... than normal... you're not entirely sure what. You raise your head with your eyes narrowed.

"Nothin'," he says, kissing you sweetly, "just happy to see you." Your eyes narrow further, but this seems to satisfy you. You kick your legs and whine and he sets you down.

Picking up the crate and carrying it casually under one arm (though, to be fair, the pumpkins are made of foam), he gestures you first into the elevator and follows behind. He takes your hand pretty much immediately, "So what're we working on?"

"Pumpkins," you sigh.

He waits a beat. Then another. "Okay... You gonna give me more than that, or..." He smirks down at you, laughing. He can't help it.

"Yeah, sorry," you laugh, "rough week." You shake your head, before looking up at him, "carving, specifically."

"Shit, why didn't you say so? I could've done the whole thing for you!" He laughs as you exit the elevator into the lower garage.

Donnie's working on the truck and you wave at him as you pass by. He gives you a bright smile and your suspicion grows. He's a bit too cheery for being elbow deep in his latest mechanical mess.

You make it to the living room and start unpacking everything. Foam pumpkins, sharpies, exacto knives, "that should be everything," you say, grabbing a gourd and sitting down on the couch. You tuck your legs up under you as Raph walks by behind, leaning down to kiss you on his way to the other side.

He only has about an hour before he needs to leave, but he spends it cuddled up next to you quietly carving pumpkins, an activity which he actually enjoys. All too soon, he's called away to his duties.

With a lingering kiss that leaves you missing him already, he's gone, and you're left with... so much work.

The pumpkins are taking longer than expected, and by midnight you're still not done. Mostly because, for a teacher, you really suck at learning your lesson, and you waited until the last minute. Again. And you didn't ask your boyfriend for help once you realized it was too much. Again.

Honestly, one word and he could have had this solved for you. You look over at your annual Family Pumpkin Carving Competition entries. Raph was no longer allowed to enter the contest because it wasn't fair. But he still did one because he enjoyed it. This year, it seems, he was feeling romantic.

It was a MASSIVE pumpkin almost to your shoulder. You have no idea how he even got it down here. Inside was a small table with several electric candles, illuminating the ballroom scene from Beauty and the Beast.

You set down the half-carved jack o' lantern, and sigh heavily, rubbing your eyes. You lean back on the couch, tucking your feet under you. You're just going to shut your eyes for a few seconds. You know that people always say that and they end up just falling asleep, but you really actually mean it, you'll close your eyes for a few minutes and then get back to work.

“jj maybank’s gonna be there” y/n side eyed her, shrugging her shoulder. “So?” She acted indifferent, ginas jaw dropped. “What do you mean ‘so’?! jj freaking maybank!” She all but yelled, shaking her shoulders. “I’m over him” y/n lied pushing Gina away.

“Oh fuck off! You were literally drooling over him this morning!” Y/n sighed, playing with the ends of her hair. “Fine, I’m not over him, he’s too dreamy, but I am definitely not going to a kook party just to admire him from a far” Gina rolled her eyes flopping down onto y/n’s bed.

“Why do you hate me?” Y/n sat huh down next to her. “Huh?! I do almost anything for you! Why can’t you do this for me?” She pouted dramatically, y/n groaned feeling bad. “Fine” she gave in. “Yeah! Let’s fucking gooo!” She jumped up, cheering. “You so won’t regret this babe!”

She regretted it the second they walked through the door. “What the fuck” she mumbled under her breath. They pushed past people making it into the giant kitchen. “What do you want?” Gina asked her, eyeing the available drinks. “Just get me a Coke” Gina nodded walking away. “Oh look, a First timer!” A voice rang from behind y/n, she turned internally groaning, Rafe Cameron.

“Hi” she nodded awkwardly, he gave his usual cocky smirk. “Hello” he leaned in, disrupting her personal space. “What are you doing here?” He tilted his head, his fingers grabbing a strand of her hair and twirling it, his breath reeked of beer. Y/n shrugged, this was uncomfortable. “leave her alone rafe” Gina returned, handing y/n her soda can, a red solo cup in her other. “Gina” Rafe’s smirked faltered. “Rafe” she sized him up, he inched back.

“Have fun” his gaze returned to y/n, before pushing past them. “He’s still so scared of you” y/n laughed, cracking open her soda. “Of course he is, I’m still the only person that has knocked him out” they cheered their drinks.

Gina had left y/n alone after her third solo cup, she was making out with some blonde in the corner and y/n sat on the couch as they passed around a joint. She grimaced, the smell strong, maybe it was better than the white powder that sat on table but the smell was terrible, she stood walking out into the backyard.

She saw the giant pool in the middle, making note to not walk too close. Rafe and topper sat at the edge of the pool. . “Yo, bro” topper tapped rafes shoulder. “There’s y/n” he whispered, watching you. “You should throw her in the pool” he laughed, his eyes bloodshot. “Bet” Rafe laughed, chugging down the last of his beer.

Y/n walked over to the snack table, disappointed she hadn’t seen jj. She munched on some pretzels, thinking about the blonde haired boy. “First timer!” Rafe yelled from behind her as he lifted her, catching her off guard. She yelped, coming to as she saw the giant pool inching closer. “No! No!” She yelled trying to free herself, rafes laughter grew, as he held her over the pool. “Please! No!” She sobbed, her hands gripping his shirt as he tried to throw her.

“Hey! What the fuck man!” another voiced boomed, she felt herself drop, the water engulfing her, her eyes closed, everything went black for a second.

She felt arms wrap around her, gasping for air as They brought her back to surface. “I got you” a voice spoke softly carrying her out of the water. “I got you” he repeated. He made sure she was okay before turning to rafe and decking him in the face, the people around gasping as he stumbled to the ground. He straddled him punching him over and over, y/n sat on the floor coughing up water as people rushed to get jj off of rafe.

jj raised his hands in surrender, his Knuckles bloody, from both their blood. He cupped y/n’s face, “let’s get you warm” he helped her up, leading her back into the house. “Y/n/n” Gina gasped as she stumbled over. “I’m okay” she sniffled, grabbing at Gina’s hand. “I’ll take you home” she slurred, jj cut in. “You’re drunk, I’ll take both of you home” Gina glared at the blonde.

“Thank you” y/n spoke, her clothes were now damp as she stepped off his truck helping jj get Gina off his truck. “Don’t mention it” he reassured. “Kiss” Gina drunkenly giggled, y/n glared at her. “Sorry she’s a different type of annoying drunk” jj just smiled, they let Gina stumble inside, leaving them alone on the porch. “Thank you” y/n repeated. “Stop thanking me, anyone would’ve done it” she shook her head. “No they wouldn’t, they would’ve laughed and left me to drown” jj shrugged, rubbing his bloody knuckles. “Those look really bad” he laughed. “I’ve had worse” she grabbed his hand, inspecting them. “We should clean them before they get infected or something” he shook his head ready to protest. She grabbed his hand pulling him inside, leading him to the bathroom in the hallway. She grabbed a small bottle of rubbing alcohol and peroxide, soaking cotton pads in them.

“This is gonna really sting” she warned grabbing his left hand. He nodded preparing for the sting, he hissed, his right hand clenched.

She cleaned both hands, placing bandages on the cuts he had. “Now we’re even” he joked with a grin, she gave a small laugh, looking up at him. “Can I ask…um” jj rubbed his neck awkwardly. “Feel free to not answer but… why didn’t you just swim?” He felt stupid. “I don’t know how” she admitted avoiding his eyes. “Oh” she nodded. “I know, I live in the obx, how do I not know how to swim” he shook his head. “I’m not judging just… surprised” she looked at him unsure.

“Is there a reason…?” She shrugged. “Uh, I don’t know… I guess I just always had a a fear of water, drowning mostly” he hummed. “That makes sense, water is not very trustworthy” she smiled. “Exactly!” He laughed, and then, They both got serious, their eyes flickering from their eyes to their lips, jj leaned in, y/n met him in the middle, initiating the kiss, her hands in his hair, his pink bandaid littered hands on her waist.

Gina stumbled into the bathroom pushing past the pair, kneeling by the toilet and vomiting. “Oh god” y/n kneeled down, holding her hair back. “Great way to cockblock me g” she mumbled under her breath. Rubbing her best friends back.

Tickletober Day 14- Lose

This has spoilers for early season 4 of the show! It has a major plot point referenced, so beware if you haven't watched that far yet!

"Mikey, if I hear ya say that one more time."

The youngest giggled, racing ahead of his brother, and leaping skillfully to the next rooftop. "Say what? I'm just stating the facts. We totally shredded Shredder!"

Raphael groaned, accelerating enough to make the jump across buildings, and charged at the orange-themed turtle. He flung himself at Mikey, latching onto the back of his shell and taking the both of them to the ground. "I warned ya-.."

Mikey screamed as he was thrown to the ground, covering his head and torso with his arms just in time to avoid being smacked face-first into the concrete. "Raph! What the shell, man!"

The elder grunted an "oops", glad that Leo and Don weren't out on patrol with them, or he'd never hear the end of it about 'safety'. He sat on his brother's legs, tugging his arms out from underneath him to pin down with his knees. "Don't act like you're Mr. Innocent ov'a here. You've had this coming ever since we beat the Shredder f'er good."

Mikey was plunged into a fit of laughter, letting out a shriek as his ribs were drilled into. Oh how he wished his shell covered the sides of him too...

"AAAHAHAAH! Buhut- Hehe lost sO BAHAAD!"

Raph huffed, digging his fingers almost roughly into the grooves of the younger's ribcage. "I know. I was there, Mike. I think ya need a lesson about losin' y'erself.."

The nunchuck-user pulled desperately on his hands, but the weight of his brother kept them pinned. He kicked his legs out, feet slapping on the roof below the two, cheek smushed against the concrete. The elder reached lower and squeezed his brother's side, smirking at the shrill laughter it elicited. "What? 'S not like I'm hurtin' ya. What're ya getting so worked up about?"

Mikey shut his eyes, shoulders bouncing from the force of his laughter. He gasped for breath, writhing underneath his big brother. "NAHAHAH- STOHOP IHIIT! hic! RAHAHAPH! STOHOP! SNRT-"

Amusement lit up the sai-user's eyes at the noise, and he pressed a little harder into the soft flesh of the younger's side. "What was that, huh? Ya tryin' ta tell me somethin'?"

Mikey's laughter went silent for a second, before coming back full force. He bucked and squirmed, trying to push his brother off of him, to no avail. "FAHAHAACK! NOHOT THEHEHEERE!" He shrieked as hands tickled at his hips, and tried to kick at the other.

"I don't give a flyin' fuck, alright? I told ya how many times to shut up, only for ya to keep yappin' about the Shredder losin'. 'Til ya decide to stop talkin', I ain't stoppin'." Mikey let out a high whine, jolting around and cackling. "IHI CAHAAN'T! SNRT- RAHAPH, IT HA- hic! TIHIHICKLES! PFAHAH!"

"Are ya gonna stop?"

"YEHEHE- OHOKAHAHAY! SNRT- OKAYOKAY IHI'LL STOHOP! IHI SWEHEHEAR!"

"Say it."

Mikey cackled, pressing himself into the hard ground as much as he could to evade the tickling. He snorted loudly, tears pricking in the corners of his eyes. Raph was definitely the roughest tickler in the family, there was no doubt about that.

"HAAH! IHI- IHI'LL STOHOHOP! I'LL STOHOHOOP! SNRT- PLEHEASE, RAHAHAPH- HEHEHELP!"

Damp eyes squinted open when the tickling didn't stop, meeting what was probably the most complacent face he'd ever seen. "Nah, this is too much fun. Sorry, little brother."

"RAHAAPH! IHI HAHAHATE YOHOUAHAH! HAHAH!"

So, the snippets you see here on tumblr are not the intended story I want to tell at all. They're the incomplete, rough draft versions of each chapter before I polish them & post them to Ao3 in the future. That's basically why I've done the bare minimum to promote or tag them, bc I'm mostly just putting them here on tumblr for fun.

Right now, I'm like 1/3 of the way through chapter 3 with the next few chapters outlined, but I want to build up at least 5 or 6 completed chapters before I start posting them to Ao3 where they'll be longer & edited. I'll also make some kind of announcement when the fic is "formally" available AKA on ao3 (tho as a heads up, I prefer locking my fics & making them for registered users only, so only people with an account will be able to access the fic in its polished state)

What program and brushes do you normally use? I love the way you color and render everything. Your art is very eatable

First off THANK YOU VERY MUCH ʕ⁠´⁠•⁠ ⁠ᴥ⁠•̥⁠`⁠ʔ♥️!!

Since the beginning of last year I've been using Procreate mainly, but my real go to program is Clip Studio Paint!

I wish I had a more fancy process with custom brushes and stuff, but I mainly work with the default brushes when I'm in Procreate:

Technical Pencil (for whatever line work I start off with + smaller details in coloring + eraser)

Flat Brush (base colors + eraser)

Rectango (this is the chaotic brush used whenever and unsparingly.... I like the texture 👍 on drawings like this it is basically built only using this brush.)

And that's my main brushes for Procreate! Anything else I use depends on the situation.... Soft Brush is good to dust colors, Technical Pen is I actually am forced to do line art, ect ect...

For Clip Studios... I think I use a lot more brushes I've accumulated from the shop and I think one of them isn't even available anymore so I'll have to check ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ (I've been on Clip there since I was like 13ish??? So it's been a long time)

It's a similar process as procreate, but I feel like I have more control over the details...

Colored pencil (default brush) (used for line work + sketching + coloring)

A marker (Aマーカー) (custom/shop) (used for blending)

커스텀 수채붓 2 (custom/shop) (coloring) unfortunately this grush was deleted by the creator which is terrifying because it is my favorite brush and I'd be ruined without itT^T

And those are the main brushes in Clip Studio!

Again thank you! the main "secret" to my rendering style is in the colors and with finding a messy enough brush (any brush you feel mimics the strokes of a real brush!) Also, don't be afraid to break your line art! In all honesty, I've gotten rid of the line art altogether when doing illustrations and just have a decent sketch, before adding and layering colors.

When it comes to colors, it's kinda a muscle memory thing you have to build up. My biggest advice, if you struggle with color picking, is to consume as much art as possible and observe how others you admire use colors and shading. That's what really helped me develop an eye for what works and what doesn't. Oh, and a fun little cheat is just fucking around with filters and opacity. This can yield some interesting results and get your brain moving when recognizing interesting color combos. And of course, always be willing to experiment with what you learn! Art is all about collecting new rules and breaking any that don't fit you :)

as of right now i think the anon could be sungjin or sunghoon’s dad, for different reasons, i think sungjin might have a somewhat inferiority complex with sunghoon, idk i feel like sungjin issues with sh run deeper than just the company, he might want to take other things from him(read as: y/n) and use whatever information jay can get to blackmail her into something? maybe? i’m not that smart bare with me pls, as for the dad i think it could be as a plan b if sunghoon doesn’t marry mc, it doesn’t seem he trusts his son a lot 💀

.. then heeseung, he’s sus af, but i don’t really have a solid theory about him, maybe he has some resentment over mc’s list, i think definitely feels less than the rest for his upbringing, at least from y/n and sunghoon but i don’t think that’s enough reason to drop that much money on jay, nor i think his crush in mc is borderline obsessive to blackmail her

yuna might be gone for now but i don’t trust her parents for some reason, yeonjun just seems like a bad friend and karina hasn’t done something to make me suspicious of her yet, gigi is on thin ice tho i need to see more of her friendship with y/n, NOW SUNOO??? he’s weird, he could easily know about yuna buying her way into yale, and also knows jay, he’s there but not really so idk he might work from the shadows? i actually don’t remember if his family has some businesses or something that might benefit from exposing mc out

Our tour started from the new year, and I saw each and every performance behind the curtains, many many times, There really a lot a lot of scenes like, I like that moment!

While thinking about various things today, Everyone as sparkling, it was like was going to cryyy🙄🫣

I got teary the momeny Nishida was singing, I conveyed this to Nishida,

her singing, and performing, brings me to tears, I think thats reallyyyy amazing
