So I’m the author of the Izzy might be Ed’s abuser post. It’s a take that I’m not 100% committed to because I feel like it’s possible for the writers to re-contextualize the evidence, however I do think that there’s a lot there. That being said, I am thinking about the implications of that reading given what we know about Ed’s father. Often times human beings replicate the relationships we had modeled for us in childhood and while Izzy and Ed’s relationship is not physically abusive (exempting reactive violence from Ed) I still can’t help but squint at his controlling relationship with a violent white man.

Like I’m not sure what I’m saying with this post. We don’t see a lot of Ed’s parents’ relationship so there’s not a lot of data to go on. There may or may not be parallels. But the man might have some daddy issues, i think is what I’m getting at.
