I've been working on combining the Gravity Falls art style with my own to improve my fan art. have a Dipper and Mabel!

#I'm actually quite proud of these they turned out a lot better than I was expecting #the Mabel sweater was initially inspired by a jacket I saw when I was zoning in the Walmart kid's section the other day #it had some definite nineties influence and looked a lot like something Mabel would wear #but as I drew it it ended up looking nothing like the actual reference and just became its own thing lol. I like this one I made up better #it was very important to me to preserve Dipper's perpetual stressed expression.#I also constantly looked like I was suffering from an ulcer at 12. I had anxiety. it's been pointed out on here before that a lot of terf arguments are actually rooted in sexist idealology that feminists fought and died to unnormalise decades ago and that's its own kettle of fish but one thing i also find very frustrating about this so called 'radical' feminism is that it's so... defeatist? like the moment you categorically label an entire section of society as Bad and Inherently Evil then there's also the implication that nothing can be done about it, and it completely takes all accountability away. saying all men are evil is just another way of saying boys will be boys. he raped her because he's a man. he hit her because he's a man. he didn't listen because he's a man - it's almost offensively oversimplified. there's no point trying to fix this issue in society because men are just Like That, okay! so now what? it's not like they're going anywhere, so you just accept that 50% of the population are evil and will forever treat you terribly and there's nothing to be done about it bc they're biologically predisposed to it? like is that fr the argument here? you're soooo radical for that

#this is coming from someone who used to very genuinely be a misandrist #ironically it was only when i started actually analysing my own feminism that i got MORE confrontational with men #and started respecting my boundaries a lot better BECAUSE i started holding them accountable again #like when men treat me like shit nowadays i dont just write it off as 'what did you expect? he's a man' i get MAD about it #because i EXPECT BETTER FROM THEM even if it's just tiny shit women have to deal with daily #i hold them to just as high a standard as im held to and i make them take accountability when they dont meet that #and whether you realise it or not even on a subconscious level the MOMENT you black-and-white blanket statement all men as bad #you stop holding them accountable.#like it is literally just boys will be boys. do terfs seriously not realise they're sending feminism BACKWARDS #like if a girl came to me with her trauma and people - other girls no less - tried to comfort her with 'yeah all men are evil'#id be fucking furious. like no he did that because he was a piece of shit that had it normalised to him that women arent to be respected #dont you dare let him off the hook with something as simple and uncritical as 'he's a man'#i promise you men like that will MUCH prefer a blanket statement such as 'all men are as bad as each other'#than actually being point blank told they're an abuser or a rapist. because being lumped together is comfortable and even empowering #wheras isolating their behaviour with words that are Bad and Ugly (LIKE 'rapist') is not comfortable at all and has heavy connotations #idk i dont think radical feminism is always bad on its own it can be v liberating. just terfs and misandrists that i have a problem with #dropping this post in a piranha tank and closing tumblr knowing im gonna have some thirty year old karen yelling at me within 5 mins #i probably wont respond to any terf comments bc they literally mentally exhaust me with their stupidity #but that also depends on my mood and ability to keep my mouth shut LMFAO we shall see

That ended exactly how I expected it to and, as expected, I am entirely neutral on it. Wasn't a satisfying ending or a super hype ending or anything like that, literally just the ending that may as well have happened. Not a single thing surprised me that whole conclusion, it felt unfortunately predictable. You can tell he's excited for it's end though so I'm happy for Horikoshi regardless, hope he can get proper rest now.

#my characters #its so sad that all of erins character development and kindness is on paper and nothing digital to show her growth #she picks on mason for many reasons and she kinda narrows her eyes at him but its more to squint than to glare #because she watches him from a distance when hes off laughing with others #though they are united on peter being worse than mason at least they can agree no matter what peter is worse #but also masons right arm is metal and she thinks its fascinating bc theres so many high tech prosthetics #why is he using the equivalent of a trash can ? is it some weird flex to not needing advanced stuff?#and its just he was from a poor family and was born with one full arm and then a stump #and he lived a lot of his youth with just one arm so once he got a second arm (installed basically) he went cheap #since he only wanted the other arm to get better jobs cause not many people would hire him with one arm #and he never really cared much about her comments because her lil verbal pokes of #so rogers whod you piss off? the mafia? is actually nicer than stuff he heard as a kid without the fake arm #so he tells her the only reason he has a metal limb is because god knew hed be two strong if born with two arms #and shes like uh huh sure thing rogers #and yeeeeah eventually something happens where mason is injured and erin is panicking #and hes acting like its okay to die because hes a dick remember TRYING to make light of it and she gets so sad #and after hes recovering and better he feels guilty making her so sad and hes talking to her #and she says that she doesnt have a lot of friends and she didnt want to lose one of the few people she liked #and hes just oh.......................... ididntthinkthatwouldbeme #so he starts to be super friendly to her and enforcing the crush that she doesnt wanna own up to #and then she does eventually confess and mason is baffled as to since when and shes like day one? and he just #erin you have got to be kidding me you were glaring at me for months #and shes just i have bad eye sight and im shy what did you expect #he isnt super smart or super stupid hes just exceedingly average

some cute does with bigass floppy ears / very sweet waitress who called me "hon" and put the most tasty looking crepes on my table / a pair of hawks divebombing a golden eagle / a kite (the bird) / a flock of magpies / some GORGEOUS scenery / a rainbow / lovely rain sprinklings / MORE gorgeous scenery, i mean what the fuck / fields of purple/orange/red tipped bushes / a meadow of buttercup-yellow very tall grass, in which many picturesque trees stood / lots of fluffy, adorable, tasty cows / a large herd of likely-feral horses with a wonderful variety of patterns & colors / the fluffiest husky ever / the juxtaposition of cold wind through an open window + warm sunlight / the most stunning snow-coated mountain of whites and blues in the sun, wreathed in clouds / no seriously some really fucking Gorgeous scenery, i was near tears with some of it

#web weaving #sort of?#i never feel like my edits really fit #they're more like collages #anyway...me on my island with the one other tudor fan that liked AB 2021 lol #'our expectations were low but holy fuck' sounds like a lot of consternation about a pretty...solid script?#what i loved most about it was moments like the above #the ability to summarize really complex dynamics borne of circumstance #in such a way that you can believe in the world and it serves as its own 'previously on' that a miniseries inherently lacks #esp when it only covers five crucial months #tl; dr there's a lot of smugness evident in many books of this genre #when it comes to anne's attitude towards her stepdaughter #bcus she was quote proven wrong unquote; becaues mary got quote the last laugh unquote...#when really. as per the quotes i've been posting #it doesn't seem like mary's reconciliation with her father was the idyll many have made it #thus we have anne's letter #and offer. knowing that others are offering her better futures #but saying this is the best future you could have. limited time only.#and it seems the future proved her right; not wrong (at least the immediate future)#bcs while matters; had she accepted; might not've been substantially better than they were under the auspices of a 'more gentle' stepmother #it also doesn't really seem like they would have been substantially worse #anne was right that her enemy's supporters wanted her disgraced and/or dead. she was right in that they wanted elizabeth disgraced #and/or dead. she couldn't have predicted what happened to herself in the exact matter it did- mainly bcus it was unprecedented #but it seems she had a pretty clear view of what mary was doing: playing both sides. attempting to ingratiate herself to her father while #also conspiring against him. and she knew it would have been better to have her on side #(and in a more jaundiced view: have her where she could watch what she was doing; who she was seeing)#but perhaps underestimated how impossible it would be to get her there in the first place #('on side' ; that is. not at court. although probably not that either. with the conditions she demanded)#but her fears of mary were not paranoia. they seem to have been grounded in realism #and a clear view of the situation at home and abroad
