Its 4 something am and I woke up to my notifications saying it's them Kevin loving hoursTM in swing. Yay the boy! Ever think about how difficult it would be for him once Strexcorp is "gone"? He would probably need some help from his mate to remember that it's ok to sit down a bit longer. It's ok to sleep in sometimes it's not going to end the world if you relax a bit. we've talked about his mate having these problems but Kevin was at strex longer yeah? He probably came out with some problems too

Oh, he came out with a plethora of issues, he’s a smorgasbord of emotional abuse and self-harming quirks that would leave just about any therapist both insanely interested and insanely horrified for his lingering mental state. He has trust issues, authority issues, a huge amount of self-loathing and is likely on the spectrum of having DID (dissociative identity disorder).

These issues are deep-seated into Kevin’s psyche, far deeper than what can be fixed in days, months or even years. It will take a lot of support and understanding for him to have any hope of getting to a level of mental health that’s stable. 

It’s more than just comforting him in spending his personal time in less-than-productive ways in the perspective of the defunct company. It’s about helping him through panic attacks when a trigger word threw him back into the heart of StrexCorp ‘re-education’, it’s about soothing him through night terrors that make sleep nearly impossible without the medication they forced him to take, it’s about being patient when he treats the world around him with untrusting aggression because he’s so used to his entire world being filled with desperate and starving people.

The lack of StrexCorp in his life proves almost to be as traumatic as when the company was in it, if only because Kevin had built himself around everything he was forced to be. Productive. Smiling. Happy. It’s hard to settle into a normal life when you had lived for years in one that is anything but (and abused to think it is). He tries to heal--oh, how hard the man really tries--but it’s not something that’s going to heal passively. 

It’s gonna take a lot of work, patience, love and understanding. There’ll be plenty of setbacks and a lot of remission into old habits, but Kevin will eventually find a normal life for himself--certainly one with people who care about him.
