Unfortunate but let's be real despite the claims that 1-B was doing better because they had more time for training, that only makes sense until you remember that there are allegedly months of training happening in this manga that we don't see (unless they are acknowledging in-universe that only the plot beats matter and nothing else is happening ever), the 1-B classmates are constantly running into problems because they haven't grown since the Sports Festival and assume that 1-A also has not grown since the Sports Festival.
