The protagonist of KISS HER ONCE FOR ME is Ellie Oliver, an animator out of a job whose star-crossed encounter with Jack Kim-Prescott results in an unexpected webcomic hit titled “Snow Day.” When Alison Cochrun, author of THE CHARM OFFENSIVE, reached out to me to ask me to sit in Ellie’s seat and put images to Alison’s opening pages, she didn’t have to ask twice! The book is hilarious and tender, and I can’t wait for everyone else to fall in love with it this holiday season. 💕

If you had the opportunity to have some voice actors casted for your iterations of Lois, Clark, Jimmy, Connor, Lex, Livewire, Rudy, and Brainiac (Basically the superman characters you've remixed so far) who would be perfect casting for each?

OOH YES here's some fancasts for my remix:

David Corenswet as Clark Kent! This is a really hard pick for me, I'm attached to Tim Daly's STAS voice for him but if I had to pick someone younger I guess this David Corenswet guy from the upcoming film looks pretty good? At least from clips I've seen of him he's got a good voice.

Brianne Tju as Lois Liando! She's a Chinese Indonesian actress and while she's young I think she's got the range. I'd love to see her twist on Dana Delaney's STAS performance because Delaney's got a fantastic hardened sassy woman voice. Tju's voice sounds great in this interview.

Haley Tju as Lucy Lane! Brianne has a sister which is PERFECT for Lois' sister Lucy! I heard Hayley's voice in Arlo the Alligator Boy as the tiger cat character and I think she sounds neat.

Michael J Woodard as Jimmy Olsen! Similarly as Haley I heard Woodard's voice on Arlo the Alligator Boy, he's the lead there as Arlo. His voice is high energy and fun! Plus he can SING which is great because I imagine Jimmy as a jack of all trades artist and shenanigans coupled with musical numbers would be perfection.

Dave Fennoy as Lex Luthor! This is locked and loaded for me. It frustrates me that no one has seen the vision here. This is the second coming of STAS Lex but BETTER. Just!! Listen to him as Bluebeard from the Wolf Among Us. This is phenomenal, the perfect voice already exists.

Toks Olagundoye as Lena Luthor! She's voiced Martha Wayne in Batman Unburied, and Cat Grant in Reign of Supermen among many roles. She'd bring the elegance Lena would need. I love her accent,,,

Donald Glover as Conner Kent/Luthor! Granted I would love a teen that can bring what he brought to Marshall Lee on Adventure Time but that performance is the Conner energy I want.

Gr33dyjay/Jhas Ean Prescott Corbitt as Rudy Jones/Parasite! While I love the Brion James' STAS voice for Parasite, I have become attached to Gr33dyjay's take on my version of Parasite. If you can bring a performance that can make me laugh like that, you're golden. If he brought just a bit of New York accent into it, even better.

ProZD/Sungwon Cho and Ellen McLain as Brainiac! I want these two to talk interchangeably and in synchronization for Brainiac. Cho serving Brau1589 realness and McLain bringing the GlaDOS good stuff. Heaven would open its gates if we ever heard a Brainiac voice like this, I believe that.

Nicole Sullivan as Livewire! This one is so, so difficult because the original Lori Petty voice for Livewire is essentially perfection. I think future takes need to find a distinct and youtuber bombastic charismatic voice for making a potentially unlikeable character fun to watch. Sullivan famously voices Shego on Kim Possible, and I think her voice has the uniqueness and sass that could revitalize Livewire. She just needs to do a version of the accent and energy.

AJ Michalka as Kara Zor El! I know Michalka's voice as Stevonnie on Steven Universe and Catra from She-Ra. I like her performance in both, it stands out and the lil rasp in her voice adds something. That gives Kara that kind of jaded world weary but still young voice. I know I haven't drawn Supergirl yet, but I've got plans.

Thanks for this ask! While I'm not familiar with tinsel town people in general, this was like a fun scavenger hunt, haha.

We will do one category at the time. We'll start with books.

We'll decide on a winner of each category, and then whoever had the most votes, will proceed into the Final 10.

I'll calculate how many votes each woman got, so that at the end of the voting, you can see how many other women also adored your favourite ones :)

This also means that once you vote, if there's someone else you also want to see in the finals, you can reblog and let your followers know who already has enough votes, and who needs more in order to proceed. hello all and welcome to my requesting rules and guidelines post! i wanted to put this information out there in a place that was easy to access and all up-to-date to make for a fun and safe space for everyone to enjoy!

as mentioned in my about me post, i am a uni student and so there may be periods of inactivity or when my requests are closed for longer than usual, but please do not be alarmed i will be returning and your posts will be answered. so with that in mind it would be very much apprciated if you could not spam my ask box with the same request over and over again, or chasing up a request; if it has been requested it will be on my list and i will get to it so long as it does not ask something of me which i have stated i will not be writing. HOWEVER if i am active and your request did not ask me to write anything i stated in my boundaries post that i would not write and it has been a while since you sent it in there is a chance that it may have gotten lost so it is okay if you send me a message or request it again!

if requests are closed i would appreciate it if you would refrain from sending any requests in as i will not see them and they may get lost if too many are sent in when i am away. this would also make it difficult for me to get on top of posting again when i return from my breaks! when requests are open or closed will be noted in my biography!!

DEBBIE  LOOMIS:  ex-wife  to  a  cheating  husband  and  ex-mother  to  a  deceased  son  who  turned  to  murder  after  she  left  home  and  never  looked  back.  her  resentment  toward  her  failing  marriage,  grief  over  the  loss  of  her  son  and  rage  over  the  women  responsible  ( in  her  mind )  for  it  all  turned  her  down  a  path  of  serial  murder  with  one  goal  in  sight:  kill  sidney  prescott.  ( mid-40s,  cis  female,  heterosexual ).

GALE  WEATHERS:  a  local  reporter  with  unmatched  ambition  that  borderlines  on  ruthlessness.  she’s  not  particularly  well-received  among  some  of  the  woodsboro  community  due  to  her  cutthroat  nature  toward  covering  the  news  but  that  doesn’t  stop  her  from  doing  whatever  it  takes  to  get  the  facts  and  the  story.  (  28 - 50s,  cis  female,  tbd ).

KIM  POSSIBLE:  just  your  basic,  average  girl  who  just  so  happens  to  save  the  world between  cheer  practice,  babysitting  jobs,  school  and  maintaining  a  social  life.  fighting evil  day  after  day  is  no  big,  but  acing  cheer  regionals,  getting  hard-headed  teachers  off  your  back  or  securing  a  date  to  the  school  dance  can  be  so  the  drama  sometimes.  ( 15 - 18,  cis  female,  bisexual ).

Trump, Kim insults are the latest in a long line of political put-downs

North Korea’s florid insults and President Trump’s schoolyard ripostes are but the latest in a long tradition of political and diplomatic put-downs. And they are far from the most cutting.

Pyongyang has arguably done better (or worse, depending on point of view). Among U.S. presidents, it has called Lyndon B. Johnson a “living corpse,” George W. Bush a “tyrannical imbecile” and Barack Obama a “clown” and a “monkey.”

In 2009, North Korea’s foreign ministry described then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as a “funny lady” who sometimes “looks like a primary schoolgirl and sometimes a pensioner going shopping.”

Trump, however, is the first U.S. president who has answered in kind, reaching into late-20th-century pop to deride North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as “Rocket Man on a suicide mission.” Kim, or at least his translator, sent many Americans scurrying to their dictionaries by dredging up the 14th-century word “dotard” to describe the U.S. president as old and senile.

But even leaving aside the buzz-killing possibility of nuclear war, none of the current jousting reaches the level of historically clever ridicule. For that, top marks are usually given to the British.

Of the long-necked, sour-faced French leader Charles de Gaulle, Winston Churchill once said, “He looks like a female llama who has been surprised in the bath.”

Told by Lady Astor that if she were his wife she would poison his tea, Churchill responded that, if he were her husband, he would drink it.

More recently, the Labour Party politician Denis Healey famously said that debating his mumbling, Conservative counterpart Geoffrey Howe was “like being savaged by a dead sheep.” (Healey and Howe both died in 2015.) Of John Prescott, a member of his own party, Healy said, “He has the face of a man who clubs baby seals.”

The United States’ Founding Fathers were no slouches in the threatening-insult department. Thomas Jefferson is often credited with calling John Adams a “hideous hermaphroditical character, which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman.”

Adams’s partisans, on his behalf, called Jefferson “a mean-spirited, low-lived fellow, the son of a half-breed Indian squaw, sired by a Virginia mulatto father.”

During a pre-Civil War secession crisis, Trump’s favorite former president, Andrew Jackson, told his vice president, John Calhoun of South Carolina, that “if you secede from my nation, I will secede your head from your body.”

Issues of slavery and secession also led to one of the most famous incidents in Congress, when Massachusetts Republican Charles Sumner, in the spring of 1856, called Illinois Democrat Stephen Douglas a “noisesome, squat, and nameless animal.” The verbal attack resulted in Sumner being seriously beaten with a cane on the Senate floor.

Trump is sometimes compared in terms of language to Alabama governor and four-time presidential candidate George Wallace, who issued similarly blunt attacks against “pointy-headed” bureaucrats and intellectuals, “liberals” and “pinkos.”

Among the most memorable political put-downs in modern U.S. history was Sen. Lloyd Bentsen’s response to Sen. Dan Quayle (R-Ind.) in the 1988 vice-presidential debate, after Quayle defended his lack of experience by noting that he had spent as much time in Congress as John F. Kennedy had when Kennedy ran for Congress.

“I knew Jack Kennedy,” the silver-haired Texas Democrat responded. “Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you’re no Jack Kennedy.”

On the presidential side of the same race, Vice President George H.W. Bush called his Democratic opponents Bill Clinton and Al Gore “bozos.”

On the diplomatic stage, North Korea has had stiff competition from Venezuela, whose President Hugo Chávez called George W. Bush a “monkey” and, in a 2006 U.N. speech, a “devil” who trailed the stench of sulfur in his wake.

After Trump slapped sanctions this year on the repressive Venezuelan government of Nicolás Maduro, the late Chavez’s successor, Maduro warned Trump to “get your pig hands out of here.”

But Maduro, and perhaps not even Kim, can compare with Rodrigo Duterte, the president of the Philippines, who separately called both Obama and Pope Francis a “son of a whore” and the U.S. ambassador a gay “son of a bitch.”

Asked during last year’s U.S. presidential campaign to compare himself to Trump, Duterte replied: “Donald Trump is a bigot, and I am not.”
