Spring-Lock Failure And Death: An Analysis

Quick Disclaimer: Lotta descriptions of gore in here. Also I have like a single semester in Anatomy, I'm not an expert, this is more of a writing drabble for my own reference if anything. But Scott Cawthon probably has done less research than me so I’m inclined to speak my truth.

ALSO BECAUSE I'M PETTY (¬_¬ ) When I say "spring-lock failure", the spring-locks themselves are not the cause of death. The cause of death is getting a robot endoskelton, previously held back with spring-locks and gravity, embedded in your flesh. Spring-locks are just the locking mechanism. This mix-up has bothered me for years.

*this was written before the FNaF movie btw. Been in draft since January 25th, 2021. It’s a fun time capsule*

The problems being violently crushed by robot parts cause:

To start, lets discuss bones. Considering the force it takes the crack bone is about 4000 newton's of force, at least the weight of of five standard pickup trucks, its unlikely any bones were actually broken within the process of the spring-lock failure.

However, that is only when supporting weight, and the suit pieces were unwound so rapidly in a way that they aimed for specific pieces in the bone, therefore it would do more harm because it might do more damage to one specific spot, and gravity working in tandem might be able to crush the rest of them. Still, that would only be enough to crack or damage the bone, so most would still be intact.

Depending on how many individual springlocks holding back individual suit pieces there were, it is very possible the combined amount of damage to the bones resulted in multiple fractures. If not, the metal bits could have embedded themselves into his bones, as bones are quite dense, and the sudden force might've gotten them stuck, but not enough to break the bone as a whole. Hence why Springtrap's got those weird little metal things embedded in his body n stuff.

(Yes. Yes I know about the bite of ‘83. For the sake of this discussion we are assuming that was an astronomical failure on a small child with brittle bones, Crying Child Georg is an outlier adn should not be counted. Also I don’t think his skull was entirely crushed but thats a different subject.)

Okay, but how did it kill him?:

Regardless of whether Willy actually got crushed like a grape in a juice press, he would've died of severe blood loss and multiple vital organs being punctured, and would've gone into like four different kinds of shock. Severe blood loss takes about five minutes to drain most of your blood to a deadly level, and that's if he's lucky, seeing as it's more likely his lungs and heart were some of the first thing to be punctured.

The lungs and heart are delicate, and those being damaged would've cause him to go into circulatory shock, which drains your blood faster and causes there to be a loss of oxygen, which could've caused serious brain damage had he actually managed to survive. The heart can take a bit of damage after being punctured, but the blood would've pooled around it and negate it's ability to pump blood. The lungs being punctured would've caused the air being held to flood the area around the lung, causing them to collapse and make breathing painful and increasing difficult. And either of these things will lead to next issue: Oxygen towards the brain.

Studies show the brain can only go four minutes without oxygen, but that's in controlled medical environment, so it's likely the brain would go much faster, especially if the endo parts managed to puncture the skull. Most farm animals take ten seconds to complete brain death.

But like, did it hurt?:

Yes.

It would've been excruciatingly painful for about the two seconds where he was still conscious, but couldn't have lasted more than a minute or two, and that's being generous. It is only through ghost shenanigans and pure annoying willpower his pain is prolonged.

TL;DR: William probably immediately passed out after that cutscene faded to black in FNaF 3 and then died of blood loss. On the plus side, those like three seconds he was still conscious would've been filled with excruciating pain, and depending on how much you want him to suffer and if you pull supernatural shenanigans, you can headcanon that period of time as long as you want.

Timeline of my relationship with Bruno 🥹💚

December 25th 2021 ~ My first time watching the film with my family. I instantly fell inlove with him but still didn’t fully know his story or what the film was about due to the chaos of my family being around & distracting me from the movie 😂

January 10th 2022 ~ After not being able to get Bruno out of my head, I finally had a day to myself & snuggled up with blankets to watch the film properly 🥹💚 It was rewatching this moment below that made me really fall for him:

February 2022 ~ This is the first point I started imagining him more in this world, by my side 🥹💚 London!

March 2022 ~ Our first wedding - married him on a whim in a very funny ceremony that I’d love to draw one day 😂 It was just me, Bruno, one witness & a very old priest 🤭

2022 ~ This time was mainly spent imagining my Bruno was still in the walls before the fall of Casita! Mainly as I think it’s what I needed for comfort at the time. To have a safe place & person to hide away & trauma bond with 💚 Of course I’d also imagine him by my side here too!

 ⠀⠀  ⠀nakyung was born on april 1st, 2001 as nicole lee in toronto, canada. she grew up in port hope, ontario, canada with her older brother, daniel, and younger sister, ciara. her mother, angie, worked as a middle school music teacher and her father, joshua, was a construction worker.

 ⠀⠀  ⠀she became interested in music early on, her mother teaching her how to play guitar and piano as soon as she was old enough. when nakyung wanted to be a singer “just like stevie nicks” at eight-years-old, angie put her in vocal lessons.

 ⠀⠀  ⠀after being persuaded by her best friend, she joins the free ballet classes at her school with her. she starts to take dance and her vocals more seriously, finding it more fun than instruments. 

 ⠀⠀  ⠀when she’s thirteen, her parents tell her and her siblings that her mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer the year before. they wanted to wait to see if chemotherapy would help. angie had gotten laid off from her job, leaving joshua the only financial support. 

 ⠀⠀  ⠀for more financial stability and emotions support, the lee family moved from canada to south korea to stay with angie’s parents. nicole didn’t even have time to say goodbye to her friends.

 ⠀⠀  ⠀nicole, now going by nakyung, didn’t make very much friends in her new school and kept mostly to herself. she got a job under the table as a waitress to help her parents with bills, telling her family she was at a dance studio by her school.

 ⠀⠀  ⠀while working, she was scouted by pledis entertainment. despite her parents thinking it was sketchy and cult-like, she auditioned and was accepted. as her brother was going to seoul national university, she moved to seoul with him to train at pledis.

 ⠀⠀  ⠀in 2016, nakyung’s parents announced that angie was in remission. she started working as a teacher again after becoming healthier.

 ⠀⠀  ⠀nakyung was in the final line-up for pledis’ upcoming girl group, but was pulled out due to ‘not being ready’. she almost left the company until her mother convinced her to stay and become better.

 ⠀⠀  ⠀with no news of a new pledis girl group, nakyung volunteered herself to join mnet’s survival show, produce 48. she would end up placing second in the last episode and debuting in temporary girl group, IZ*ONE, in 2018.

 ⠀⠀  ⠀in 2020, nakyung’s parents announced that angie’s cancer had came back— being part of the 10-20 percentage of ovarian cancer recurrence. angie would not try chemotherapy again, wanting to be with her family and go to new zealand. due to the pandemic, the family would ultimately stay in korea and not fulfill angie’s wish.

 ⠀⠀  ⠀in 2021, her mother dies and IZ*ONE disbands. nakyung is not seen for a long time, not even by her IZ*ONE members until her OST song for kdrama ‘twenty-five twenty-one’, stardust love song, was announced. she would, again, disappear.

 ⠀⠀  ⠀in 2022, it is assumed nakyung left pledis around this time as she later joins S2 entertainment after lee haein offered her a spot in ber upcoming girl group.

͙͘͡ ★ ◞  FATHER.     joshua lee was born march 13th, 1973 in daegu, south korea as lee jaehyun. the day he turned eighteen, he left his house and moved to canada with his best friend and legally changed his name to joshua lee. he met angela park in 1994 and would go on to have three children with her. the first being daniel in 1997, nicole in 2001, and ciara in 2004. he doesn’t want to be in korea when they have to move but does it for his wife. when angie dies in 2021, he completely barricades himself in their room. one day, his number is changed and all of his belongings are gone. we never find out what happened to him but he either killed himself or changed his name again and started a new life. he is referred to as ‘dad’ or ‘deadbeat’. (non affectionately)

͙͘͡ ★ ◞  MOTHER.     angela ‘angie’ lee was born on october 29th, 1975 in jeju, south korea as park jangmi. she goes by angela or angie now because she likes the name. she was studying abroad in canada when she met joshua. in 2012, she is diagnosed with ovarian cancer. together, they decide to bare the news on their shoulders alone and decide not to tell anyone unless chemotherapy doesn’t work. it begins to work, but it’s too expensive and she’s laid off. they have to move to seoul to be near her family for help. she hates the person she is while on chemo, and turns to god in her sickness and health, even when she’s in remission in 2016. she begins working again. in 2020, the cancer come back, but angie doesn’t want to be on chemo again. she wants to be with her family, in new zealand. but then they can’t go and she dies in korea. she is referred to as ‘mom’.

͙͘͡ ★ ◞  BROTHER.     daniel lee was born on august 15th, 1997 in toronto, canada. he grew up teasing his younger sisters, ever so mean to them during puberty but there for them when they were upset. his relationship with his parents wasn’t so great, always noting a difference in the way they brought him up compared to his sisters. when he was eighteen, he left for seoul national university in 2015 with his sister. he now works as a cyber security engineer. he is referred to as ‘daniel’, ‘danny’ or ‘dumbass’. (affectionately)

͙͘͡ ★ ◞  SISTER.     ciara lee was born on november 3rd, 2004 in ontario, canada. she grew up wanting to be everything like her sister, wanting to be around her constantly. she slightly grew up in nakyung’s shadow, but that didn’t matter to her— it just made her want to be her even more. she wants to become an idol just like her older sister— and she will. she currently lives with their aunt, sooyoung, and her girlfriend, bora, in busan, south korea. she is referred to as ‘chaeyoung’ or ‘cee’ or ‘ciara’.

͙͘͡ ★ ◞  MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER.     park seoyoung was born on january 19th, 1955 in busan, south korea. she met lee hojin in 1972 and shortly married him a few months later the same year. they would go on to have three children, one boy, two girls. in 1996, seoyoung and hojin moved to chungnam, south korea and settled there for the rest of their lives. in 2017, her health begins to decline. in 2018, she dies in her sleep peacefully. she is referred to as ‘할머니’ (halmoni).

͙͘͡ ★ ◞  MATERNAL GRANDFATHER.     park hojin was born on may 12th, 1949 in ulsan, south korea. after his father died during the korean war, his mother moved them to busan. he met seoyoung in 1972, marrying her and having three children with her. in 1996, he and seoyoung moved to chungnam. in 2001, he suffered from a heart attack. he is currently retired, but used to work as a contractor.

ok I loves this podcast!!!! So much!!! I listened to it when I was on a road trip and got through all of it in two days.

What its about:

“Do you ever really know your neighbours?

Neighbourly follows the residents of Little Street, house by house. What they do, how they interact with each other, and what skeletons are hiding in their closets. Our Narrator is definitely reliable.”

so yeah every episode is about a different house and its residents on little street and every episode is so interesting! Like I love the stories that are told they’re interesting and creepy and mysterious and I can’t wait to learn more about them! it starts kind of anthology like but once you find the plot that keeps popping up its just. So fun to follow and try to figure out.

Anyway i had so much fun listening to this show and I *highly* recommend it, please please please go check it out!!!

The Toonami Trending Rundown for the month of December 2024. The better cartoon show brought an end to 2024 by showcasing the second half of Invincible Fight Girl’s first season, among other great moments.

For the night of December 14, #Toonami trended in the USA on Twitter alongside Invincible Fight Girl, Mashle, and Blue Exorcist. A week later on the 21st, #Toonami trended in the USA alongside Invincible Fight Girl for its season finale. Meanwhile for the final Toonami Rewind on December 27, fans were able to send off the throwback block with a bang as #ToonamiRewind trended in the US.

Invincible Fight Girl’s creators are hoping to see a continuation of the show, though Cartoon Network has neither confirmed or denied if the series will be renewed or will be canceled. Hopefully a second season will be the case, but all we can do for now is to keep supporting the show, its creators, and Toonami as a whole and checking out reruns on Max and Adult Swim/Toonami and on on-demand, official digital downloads, and physical media when and if that becomes available.

Kodansha has revealed a new trailer and new information for the upcoming third season of Fire Force. Season 3 will be split into two cours, the first premiering in Japan and on Crunchyroll on April 2025, while the second premieres in January 2026.

Studio MAPPA also released some new information regarding Lazarus, including a key visual and the theme music for Shinichiro Watanabe’s newest series. The opening theme is titled Vortex by Kamasi Wasahington, while the ending theme is Lazarus by The Boo Radleys. The Japanese cast was also revealed, starring:

Adult Swim has announced that the series would be coming to Toonami this April 2025.

Unfortunately, as 2024 comes to a close, Adult Swim has decided to pull the plug on Toonami Rewind as the Friday afternoon throwback lineup will be retired come January, with said timeslots being given back to Checkered Past. No official reason was given why Toonami Rewind was canceled. Alongside potential issues with Toonami bringing in additional programming for Rewind, it is likely that Adult Swim is seeing a change in strategy with the network inking a deal with Disney to bring Family Guy back to the late-night programming block for the first time since 2021. It’s not all lost, however, as the Rewind lineup would be “merged back” into the Saturday night Toonami lineup, with Naruto starting over from the beginning starting January 11th, while Sailor Moon will return on January 25th.
