Daisy anon requested for a cockles analysis so here is one:
misha says that he had a dream of maison having a poop explosion. the story is quite adorable if you forego the poop exploding and being on the walls and everywhere. he says he doesn't know how to refer to "poop explosion" in italian and jensen says that it's a "blow out".
anyway, the interesting thing about his narration is when he says "the amazing thing about the dream is that i woke up and i was like *gasps* awww *looks at jensen and jensen's expression is like look at this sap* i miss her" and misha barely finishes saying "i miss her" before jensen repeats "i miss her" with the exact same expression misha had while saying it. like sir, were you there to witness it?
after jensen says that it gets awkward between them and they can't even look at each other. misha tries to say something but jensen interrupts by saying "misha shared me with that...he shared that with me..." the last part is inaudible but it sounds like he says "he shared that with me after he woke up."
so if misha shared that story with you after he woke up and you knew the exact expression he had on his face does that mean that the two of you were asleep right next to him or?? like what are you saying mr. jensen ross ackles?
the way misha looks at jensen after he utters those words is like, sweetheart are you crazy or what? i shared you with what now?
to redeem himself for almost getting caught revealing that he actually shares a bed/sleeping quarters with his co-star he says "i'm gonna just hang out" and sits down. misha also takes a seat and they move on to talking about how as a parent, your kids' poop doesn't bother you.
my take away from this is that yes, jensen was there when misha woke up, whether they were in bed together or wherever misha was sleeping at that moment, jensen was there with him and he listened to misha bemoan missing mais and that's how he knew about it. the fact that he got tongue tied while telling us about the story, which was not his story to tell anyway, is proof that they were together in a not so innocent situation when it happened. to make it even juicier it's the fact that he got tongue tied after the “he shared me” bit. if it was all innocent misspeaking why did he get all awkward about it? and why did he feel the need to add that part when no one asked him? i mean misha could've easily said, as they often do, "i was telling jensen the other day of this dream i had about maison" in that context if jensen had interjected, i wouldn't have batted an eye but the fact that he inserted himself in the story of his own volition, gets tongue tied and then they both get awkward is very telling and cocklesy in and of itself.
and there you have it, the day jensen involuntary revealed that he sleeps next to misha and knows about all his dreams.
Regarding the May timeline, I don't recall seeing that Gen and JDM were ever at the same convention in May of 2015. I saw that JDM was at Aslyum 14 in May and reports about him leaving early have to do with his dog being put down. https://www.fangirlquest.com/events/asylum-14-supernatural-cast/
All I've ever heard about an argument at an overseas con was Gen and Jensen at JIB in 2016. (Though I can't find any links with those reports.)
Jared, Jensen, JDM, and Gen were at the same Aslyum con (X). Here's a video of Gen doing Jared's hair into a manbun during his panel (X). There were no reported argument between Gen and Jensen at Jibcon 2016. The arguments fans overheard at Aslyum 2015 were speculated to be between Gen and Jensen but couldn't say for sure.
Well tbh around 2015 or something I stopped following Supernatural and a bit ater that I only occasionally still checked in on what was going on with both Jensen and Misha. After the 15 x 18 finale, I was a bit more active again and followed at least some actors' news, as well as the whole "jivorce" thing, but mostly through people memeing and content accidentally making it on my Twitter timeline (I stopped using Tumblr, or just checked it really occasonally!).
I'd say that I now still check in on Jensen and Misha, at least when any big stuff happens, and I still consider myself a Cockles truther, at least in some sort of a poly way - it's interesting to see how the dynamics have changed throughout the years. It seems to me that in recent years J&D became much more vocal about their love for Misha - something that "warms the cockles of my heart" quite a lot.
I also have been updated more or less on the whole fiasco with D*niela and JIBcon, it sucks that it ended this way bc Rome was "their special thing" and it won't be the same anywhere else, but with the way that woman has been acting, it's probably for the best.
What else would you like to know dear anon?? :)) I got into a bunch of other fandoms in between as can be seen from my very occasional postings, but Cockles is definitely something I still kind of silently follow and have at least mostly fond memories of (the same can't be said about the show tho :p). But all in all, I made quite a few friends through that fandom, and I still keep in touch with a number of them, so that's th fondest memoriy I'll ever have in regards to SPN! :))
It's not the first time that Jared has not attended Jibcon. It happened already in 2013 and 2015. The convention won't be canceled just because he won't be here. Of course, there will have to be some changes, but as for Jensen and Misha, their panel, and everything else, it will all stay the same. Don’t worry guys, it's gonna be good! If this is your first time experiencing Jibcon, get ready. The best is yet to come!!!
Yeah... umm... so, does Misha make a habit of lumping his and Jensen’s kids together?
🤔😏🤷♀️
Definitely seems like it at JIB6...
When relaying he was stumped at “If you could write a children’s story, what would the moral of the story be?” Misha says that it was tricky because he’s raising immoral children. Jensen shrugs and says, “it’s true, it’s true.”
But...
This is JIB6. It’s only 2015. Arrow and Zepp wouldn’t be born for another year and a half...
But Misha says children.
Sure. It could just be a mistake. But they’ve known each other and been friends for a long time now.
However, if they’re used to collectively referring to their children together, as theirs, then it would make sense for Misha to slip up and say children.
Now... you could tell me it’s just a slip of the tongue and it doesn’t mean anything. I’m reading too much into it.
And if I didn’t have yet another example, from last year’s JIB10, maybe I’d agree that it didn’t mean anything.
(Since there is a one video limit, check the reblog for the next example!)
I’m bringing this old con panel back because yesterday in my blocking of people on my Wanek post someone plugged this in as Singer commentary on Destiel. And it’s fair. I just simply think it’s as outdated as Singer himself. And honestly, I forgot it existed because when it first made the wank rounds it was mostly focused on the Charlie death answer and how much Singer just doesn’t understand what fans were even upset about.
Watch for yourself but the context of him bringing up Destiel is whether or not maliciousness is involved in the treatment of certain characters and storylines. And while he doesn’t say the word, Singer is talking about the accusations of queerbaiting in regards to Supernatural and Destiel, and how this maliciousness simply isn’t INTENDED (whether this is relevant or not is up to you: murder vs manslaughter). Singer is on the defense here. He goes on to say there’s love between the characters (only mentioning Dean and Cas throughout his answer) but that it basically is unquantifiable and that it’s actually not their job as writers to quantify it (lmfao it literally is). But this is old. Almost four years old and a lot has changed since then. And Carver is no longer running the show with him, Dabb is.
Singer talks about Cas also being homeless in the (and God, I had to cringe through this because Misha is right beside him and Singer is talking willy nilly about homelessness and Misha has been homeless himself) sense that his home is his MISSION. Cas doesn’t think of home as a place, but rather a purpose, according to Singer’s understanding of the character anyway. Well, fast forward four seasons and Cas very much lives in the bunker now (home sweet home) and his “purpose” is still very much his family’s safety and whatever brings Dean Winchester the most peace.
And yeah. I don’t know if old fart Singer still doesn’t understand why fans were upset about Charlie’s death, why they accuse Supernatural of stringing them along in regards to their investment in Dean and Cas’ relationship, or what. So much has changed since this panel. The tone of the show has dramatically shifted (becoming more ensemble than ever), its values refined (chosen family hailed and celebrated above all), and yet, one Old God of Television still remains...
It’s like this: Singer is always constant on the show (S11 temporary step down aside), but with every new showrunning partner comes a shift in the show’s presentation. If Singer’s vision was enforced more, then the show would appear more uniformed. It’s just... not. I don’t need to understand the exact dynamic between Singer and his various co-showrunners to see this and tell you it’s a thing.
So that’s how I see things with Singer. I have no clue how much he’d fight against Destiel being more textually romantic beyond him acknowledging that it’s already ambiguous (and him being defensive as subtext being a valid storytelling option). Given how Dean and Cas’ relationship has continued to be a part of Supernatural’s compelling narrative, given how many bridges they’ve already burned and how they’ve toned down hunter romances in general, I don’t think his arguments could look very good or sound very convincing, if they are there.
Anyway, this is already on my blog somewhere. I talked about this four years ago when it happened. Singer basically confirms that at that time four years ago he and Carver intended Destiel to simply be ambiguous but that doesn’t really help us know how he sees things under Dabb, nor *exactly* how much of his ongoing will/vision vs Dabb’s goes into making Supernatural as it exists today. I’d personally argue not that much given how the show looked then as compared to now. But I’m not here to convince anyone of anything. This is simply how I feel. You can decide for yourself, but feel free not to argue about your opinion on my post if it’s drastically different than mine:
