Erotic films. They are almost as old as the cinema itself. Nevertheless, it is still taboo to talk about its evolution, its importance within the cinema's history, and its link with the political, cultural and social context of its time. This series of blog posts aims to explore through 4 films, the rises and falls of erotic cinema

The 1969-1984 period is considered as the Golden Age of Porn. Firstly, we need to clarify the difference between erotic and pornographic cinema.

A bit of historical context. The end of the Sixties is a period of big social contestation of the social order. May 68 in France or the Woodstock Festival in the US are examples of events promoting the liberation of society in general but also of what is moral or not and sexuality. But it is also a period of disruption in the erotic cinema production. Indeed, due to the lack of legislation and attracted by possible profits, the limit between erotism and pornography will be less evident to perceive.

In legal terms, a pornographic film must respect three criteria, according to the French State Council. Firstly, of course, the presence of non-simulated sexual scenes. In erotic movies, sexuality will be more focused on suggestion. Then, an esthetic criteria, even if it is based on the subjectivity of the person judging the movie. An erotic film will be more likely to seek an esthetic and artistic aim in its scenario and image. Finally, a moral criteria, with the content of the movie and the director's intention. The Genevois Report explains: “Is pornographic, the film which presents to the public, without aesthetic research and with a provocative crudeness, scenes of sexual life and in particular scenes of mating.” This judgement depends on the person’s assessment and own subjectivity.

In the 70s, mainstream and popular French cinema used a lot of codes from erotic cinema. along with movies such as On aura tout vu by Georges Lautner (1976), Going Places (1974) and Calmos (1976) by Bertrand Blier or the cartoon Tarzoon: Shame of the Jungle by Picha and Boris Szulzinger (1975), I will put on focus on the movie Cookies directed by Joël Séria. Henri Serin, played by Jean-Pierre Marielle, has a basic and unhappy life. Addicted to women’s buttocks, he quits his umbrella salesman job to become a painter specialised in butts paintings. His movie received a good critical reception and was described for instance as wily, picturesque, spontaneous or naturalist, showing a true author gaze.

In the pornographic field and crossing the Atlantic, one of the most famous movies from this period is Behind the Green Door by Artie & Jim Mitchell. It is both one of the first hardcore films widely released and the first feature-length heterosexual hardcore pornography film to include an interracial sex scene in the United States. His main actress, Marilyn Chambers, became after her role a mainstream actress. On the critical side, Roger Ebert from The Chicago Sun-Times made a bad review of Behind the Green Door deploring its goal of "proving how dirty it was"

This proliferation of erotic and more particularly pornographic movies triggered a general outcry. In France, the 31st of October 1975 law put in place the X classification, with an obligation of diffusion in specialised cinemas, a value-added tax increased by 20%, and a suppression of every automatic support by public funding. In the US, The Supreme Court's 1973 Miller v. California decision redefined the notion of obscenity and allowed local judges to seize and destroy prints of films considered to violate local community standards. Behind the Green Door was impacted by this decision and banned in New York, California, Colorado, and Georgia.

Our final blog post will bring us to the contemporary production of erotic movies production with a double movement of a progressive ban of erotic movies from movie theatres and an explosion of pornographic videos on tapes and with the boom of the Internet. It is more and more difficult to show a difference between the terms erotism and pornography, but it has also become a tremendous business, at least for the porno industry, with an annual income from 5 to 100 billion dollars

Doubt: Part One

Pairing: Spencer Reid x Female!Reader

Author’s Note: I do not own anything from Criminal Minds. All credit goes to their respective owners. If there is any warnings that exceed the normal death/kills from the show, I will list them. If you’ve seen the show, then it’s the same level of angst unless otherwise stated

It's a good day.

It's a good fucking day because you are a new woman. You passed your evaluation with flying colors, your birthday had come and passed, and you got a therapist to help you overcome the trauma associated with Hannah and your past. Does a part of you wish she was still here? Yes. You know that she is doing a good job, and she's been keeping up with you periodically to tell you she is doing okay.

She is thriving, and it's not with you.

You're ready to get back to your normal life, and that includes being with and loving Spencer Reid. You two had just passed your two-year mark of dating, and you couldn't be happier about that. You have a good feeling about all of this and what better way to celebrate that than going to work and taking down the bad guys.

Someone's been murdering college students on a campus in Flagstaff, Arizona, so that's where your team is headed to now. You didn't have time to talk about it at the BAU, so you spent the entire flight talking about it. One thing you noticed about the team is that they were ready to move on and to do what they need to do for the team.

However, Gideon is completely different.

His energy is all off. He's not the same man as he was before because Frank killed the love of his life (presumably). He's more distant and distracted, and only you can see it. Maybe the other team has an inkling that Gideon isn't okay, but you know for sure he isn't. But it's not like you're going to go up to him and ask him about it. He won't tell you.

So, all you can do besides trying to be there for Gideon when he needs it is to work the case. The detective on the case is meeting you at the airport so he can escort you to the campus himself.

"Jim Griffith," he introduces himself as soon as your team leaves the jet.

"Hi. Jennifer Jareau. Thanks for meeting us here," she says nicely.

"Thanks for taking us on so quickly."

"Yeah. The faster we get here, the faster we can help stave off panic."

"I hear that," Jim scoffs.

"What can you tell us about the university?" Spencer asks.

"It's small and tight-knit. Dorms are still single-sex. This place draws people from all over the county, but the students are mostly the arty type."

"Have you increased uniform presence on campus?" Derek wonders.

"Yeah. Doubled it."

"Any other measures?"

"I got security shuttles running twenty-four/seven, and as of tonight, I've imposed a ten o'clock curfew."

"We need a corner of your precinct so we can set up shop."

"You got it. You need to get to the hotel first?"

"No. Spree killings in a confined area are a race. He's racing to kill as many as he can. We're racing to stop him," Gideon says bluntly and gets into the cars waiting for them.

You heard the man, there's no time for stopping. The cars immediately take you to the campus where the recent young woman was murdered. Of course, other students are gathering around to see what happened, but police and campus security made it so that your team would have some space to do your job.

The body is still on the ground when you arrive, and you take note of how her arms are placed over her chest in a criss-cross style. That's a classic sign of remorse because the killer is trying to preserve some dignity for the girls by making it seem like they are at peace after death. The young woman has her mace out as if she was going to use it, but never did.

"I've got men at every exit point on campus," Jim explains.

"She had her mace out, but she didn't use it? Plus, it's well lit. He's not afraid of being seen," JJ observes.

"How often do the shuttles run?"

"Every ten minutes."

"Were all the other victims posed like this with their arms crossed?" you ask.

"Yeah. Why?"

"It's a classic sign of remorse. The unsub kills the victim, then immediately feels bad about it, so he poses them like this so they'll rest in peace."

"You can tell that just by the arms?"

"That's why you called us here, right? To build a psychological profile of your killer?"

"Yeah, I did," Jim nods.

"How long will it take your men to clear the scene?" Gideon wonders.

"A few hours."

"Lucky there's a curfew, otherwise there'd be a mob scene," JJ comments quietly.

"Have Hotch set up at the precinct. We'll run everything through him. By the time this campus wakes up, I want a handle on this."

Everyone split up to do different jobs the next day, and you and Spencer got the job of reassuring the girls of the university about the dangers of being alone at night. You've gathered all of them in the lobby of one of the dorms. Some don't believe this is happening, some are too in shock about what happened, and just a few are actually bored. Still, this meeting needs to happen.

"I spoke to Amy's parents. Funeral services will be held on Sunday in Chicago. They're arriving later today to bring her home. They asked me to let you know that they will be staying downtown at the Mainline Hotel. If any of you would like to visit or pay your respects, they'd like you to feel free to do so," you announce.

"How did you all let this happen?" A girl suddenly blurts.

"Katie."

"What? Everybody is thinking it. You're the FBI, the campus is crawling with police, and she gets murdered waiting for the security shuttle."

"That's not helpful," the dorm advisor says.

"Actually, it is," Spencer speaks up. "The fact that your friend was killed in such a well-lit area with a police presence indicates that the killer is most likely part of this campus. He's not an outsider. He's someone who wouldn't raise an alarm with the police or potential victims."

"You should also be aware that the three victims were brunettes. At this point, we do consider it an intentional pattern," you warn cautiously.

Most of the brunettes clutch their hair in worry. You know they are immediately deciding to dye their hair.

"So, tell me, how am I supposed to keep these women safe?" the DA asks.

"There are security cameras being installed in virtually every corner of the campus, and that's coming out of the city's budget. It's not the school's. With the added measure, we're hoping it will scare whoever is doing this long enough for us to catch him."

The Dean wants to shut down the school, but if it is someone on campus, then he'll leave once it shuts down only to return when it opens back up. He'll definitely kill again. However, the Dean doesn't want to raise too much alarm but still keep everyone safe. So, she came to the decision to shut down the school. That's a decision you can't control, so you have to do your best to make do with what you got.

Emily is offsite with JJ looking into the cause of the death at the morgue. The latest victim, Amy, seemed to have more overkill than the rest of them. Her death was caused by a single, very forceful stab wound to the heart--one that broke the breastbone. After that, the killer lashed out at random. There are no defense wounds on Amy's body as were the first two victims. None of the victims were drugged since the toxicology reports came back negative. It's hard to think this is happening to these young girls, but you hope you can catch the man before he does it again.

You conclude the meeting after talking about what might happen next, but before you can leave with Spencer, Katie comes up to you with her other brunette friend.

"I'm sorry about before."

"I'm sorry about your friend."

"Uh, your RA told us that you guys were at the library last night. Did you see Amy there?" Spencer asks.

"We didn't go with her, but we saw her there. I thought she left before us," Katie's other friend says. "Her bag wasn't in her cubicle, or else we would have waited."

"Did you notice anyone she might have been talking to earlier?"

"Was it like her to be walking alone, even in a dangerous situation like this?" Spencer asks right after you.

"She wasn't the victim type."

It's almost impossible to pinpoint who's the most vulnerable. That's why we're trying to teach you how to best protect yourselves."

"I just mean that she was strong, and she was smart. I don't know why she didn't at least mace him," Katie sighs.

"Are a lot of girls carrying mace?" you wonder.

"Pepper spray, mace, switchblades, etc.. If you can buy it online or find it at the army-navy store, we've all bought it."

"Are you sure about who he's killing? I mean, brunettes?" Katie's friend assk, clutching her hair nervously.

"Pretty sure, yeah," you sigh. You excuse yourself and bring Spencer to the side so you can talk to him without raising an alarm. "Realistically, it'll take two or three days to empty the campus. I'm afraid that'll be our window for catching this guy."

"What do you think they'll do?"

"I heard them mention that they're installing security cameras. Most likely, they'll be functional by nightfall."

"They'll need as many men as they can on duty. If the unsub is part of campus life, he's gonna know it's about to shut down. Next few days, that's his last chance to hunt."

"Uniform presence helps, but it'd also be good to have some of their younger officers go in plainclothes, try to blend in."

"Let's head back and talk to Gideon and Hotch about this."

You and Spencer say your goodbyes because heading back to the police station where everyone else is. It seems like you two were the only ones they were waiting on. It seems like they wanted to give the profile, so you'll let them do that before you talk to Hotch and Gideon.

"We know everyone's tired and working overtime. We want to tell you how much we appreciate it," Gideon starts it off with a nice note. "We'd like to give you a rough profile of the man we're all looking for. This is someone with access. He's managed to move in a small community with a high police presence without raising suspicion which means there's a good chance that this is someone you've seen."

"This unsub has killed three women in four days. That's what we call a spree killer. Now, most likely, something has happened in the past few days to set him off," Derek says.

"That stressor probably has to do with a woman in his life who fits the same description as these young girls--wife, mother, or a girlfriend. The women he's killing, they're most likely a substitute."

"What we need you to do is look at people who are part of the campus fabric. See if anyone fits the bill--students, professors, and even support staff," Emily says.

"I'm sorry, but how are my men supposed to know about somebody's home life?" Jim, the detective, asks.

"Well, the people around him have seen him devolving. If you suspect someone on campus, talk to anyone who knows him, find out if he's recently found religion, been drinking, and even if he's been harming himself."

"He may feel emasculated. Considering the stressor and the victimology, there's a good chance that rejection is a recurring theme in his life. This unsub displays a great amount of anger, stabs his victims repeatedly, even after they're dead. Seconds later, he feels remorse. It's possible that his guilt is because his victims were in a position to trust him."

"How's that?" an officer asks.

"As we said, we think he's a part of campus life. The victims feel safe around him. He's able to get close. He's also able to kill these women without them fighting back. Not one of them has defensive wounds on their hands," you say.

"Like if they'd been tasered first?"

"That's possible, why?"

"Security guards on campus aren't allowed guns. They carry tasers."

"Can you get me an employment list of campus security?" Gideon asks Jim, and he complies right away.

Emily leaves the group just as you're finishing up the profile because the pictures of the defense wounds are in the conference room with everything else. When you're done giving the profile, your team and Jim meet with Emily in the room.

Film Recomended Untuk Ditonton - Tahun 2020 menjadi tahun yang menarik di dunia perfilman dunia. Beberapa film franchise, siap muncul lagi bersama cerita yang lebih fresh atau jadi sekadar untuk nostalgia belaka. Mulai dari James Bond yang barangkali dapat dibintangi paling akhir kali oleh Daniel Craig, Duo detektif berandalan di Bad Boys, sampai Tom "Maverick" Cruise di Top Gun: Maverick.

Bad Boys for Life

Bad Boys for Life merupakan seri ketiga dari film Bad Boys. Kali ini, film selanjutnya mengisahkan tentang aksi pasangan detektif Mike Lowrey (diperankan Will Smith) dan detektif Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence). Semula, mereka tak lagi menjadi rekan dalam satu misi sebab Burnett udah tua dan menjabat sebagai inspektur.

Mike, sapaan karib Michael, ditugaskan untuk menggerakkan misi bersama sekelompok polisi muda. Misi selanjutnya tidak terjadi bersama lancar supaya Mike akhirnya dipersatukan lagi bersama Burnett.

Film bergenre komedi aksi ini merupakan sekuel dari Bad Boys rilis terhadap (1995) dan Bad Boys 2 (2003). Menurut keterangan, rentang saat yang cukup jauh dari film di awalnya sebab persoalan bujet.

Film Bad Boys ketiga dikatakan udah dibahas sesudah keberhasilan yang kedua, bersama Michael Bay memperlihatkan tertarik untuk lagi ke kursi sutradara, namun keterbatasan anggaran mempersulitnya.

Film ini disutradarai Adil El Arbi dan Bilal Fallah yang di awalnya menyutradarai film Snowfall (2017) dan Patser (2018). Bad Boys for Life juga dibintangi oleh Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Paola Núñez, Kate del Castillo, Nicky Jam, dan Joe Pantoliano.

Birds of Prey

Film Birds of Prey secara formal tayang di Indonesia terhadap 5 Februari 2020. Berikut sinopsis film lepasan tentang karakter antihero Harley Quinn yang dibintangi Margot Robbie.

Ia merupakan salah satu personel perempuan di kelompok penjahat Suicide Squad. Dalam Suicide Squad (2016) ia dilukiskan sebagai kekasih Joker yang selamanya berada di bawah bayang-bayang sang pacar.

Dalam Birds of Prey, Mary Elizabeth Winstead berperan sebagai Helena Bertinelli dengan sebutan lain Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell sebagai Black Canary, Rosie Perez sebagai Renne Montoya, Ella Jay Basco sebagai Cassandra Cain, Chris Messina sebagai Victor Zsasz, dan Ewan McGregor sebagai Roman Sionis, dengan sebutan lain Black Mask. Sonic the Hedgehog

Film yang diadaptasi dari video gim produksi Sega ini menceritakan usaha Sonic melarikan diri baik di planetnya dan Bumi. Berikut sinopsis lengkap film Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sonic merupakan landak biru luar angkasa yang bisa berlari bersama kecepatan supersonik. Sonic mengerti dirinya dicari suku Echidnas untuk kepentingan kekuasaan.

Di sedang peristiwa bahagia tersebut, Sonic tak sengaja mengeluarkan kekuatan dari bulu-bulunya dan memicu listrik kota padam. Hal itu memicu kegalauan pemerintah Amerika Serikat, yang kemudian mengirimkan Dr. Ivo Robotnik, dokter aneh dan jenius untuk melacak mengerti penyebab listrik padam.

Bagai terlepas kandang singa masuk kandang buaya, Sonic lagi menjadi 'buronan'.

Kembali diburu banyak pihak, Sonic menghendaki bantuan kepada idolanya, Sheriff Tom Wachowski dan istrinya yang seorang dokter hewan, Maddie. Namun, Sonic tak mengerti Sheriff Tom dan Maddie sesungguhnya dapat langsung pindah ke San Francisco dalam saat dekat.

The Invisible Man

Sutradara Leigh Whannell lagi menebar teror kepada pemirsa lewat film horor yang kali ini bertajuk The Invisible Man. Film selanjutnya mengisahkan serangan psikologis dan fisik yang dirasakan sang karakter utama dari orang tak terlihat. Berikut sinopsis The Invisible Man.

The Invisible Man di awali dari Cecilia Kass (Elisabeth Moss) yang terjerat dalam hubungan pernikahan tak sehat bersama Adrian (Oliver Jackson), seorang ilmuwan pandai dan kaya raya. Cecilia sepanjang ini selamanya menjadi korban kekerasan bersama kehidupan di bawah pengecekan suami.

The Invisible Man merupakan film sci-fi horror yang disutradarai Leigh Whannell. Ia di awalnya berduet bersama James Wan menuliskan cerita beberapa film horor hit layaknya Saw (2004), Dead Silence (2007), Insidious (2010) dan Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), dan juga menyutradarai The Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015).

Onward

Tom Holland dan Chris Pratt dapat lagi berpetualang bersama. Kali ini, mereka dapat menjadi pengisi nada dua karakter peri (elf) dalam film animasi Onward yang diproduksi Pixar Animation Studios untuk Walt Disney. Berikut sinopsis film Onward yang dapat tayang terhadap 4 Maret 2020.

Dahulu kala, dunia penuh bersama keajaiban. Namun sejalan berjalannya waktu, teknologi jadi berkembang sampai akhirnya sihir dan mantra jadi dilupakan. Hingga suatu hari, Ian (Tom Holland) dan Barley Lightfoot (Chris Pratt) menerima sebuah misi untuk mendapatkan lagi sisa-sisa keajaiban tersebut.

Hal selanjutnya di awali saat Ian berulang tahun yang ke-16. Sang ibu (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) memberi mengerti Ian dan Barley punya hadiah pribadi dari papa mereka. Hadiah selanjutnya baru boleh diberikan saat mereka berdua udah berusia 16 tahun.

Ayah Ian dan Barley, Wilden Lightfoot (Kyle Bornheimer) ternyata memberi mereka tongkat ajaib, batu permata dan surat. Dalam surat tersebut, Wilden menyatakan hadiahnya bisa memicu Ian dan Barley berkesempatan bertemu dengannya lagi dalam 24 jam bersama cara menyatakan mantra ajaib.

Hal itu bagaikan hadiah terindah bagi Ian. Sebab, ia sama sekali tak punya kenangan apapun tentang ayahnya. Ketika Ian lahir, ayahnya udah tiada. Ian langsung mengambil tongkat selanjutnya dan membaca mantra ajaib.

Perlahan tongkat selanjutnya memperlihatkan keajaiban. Sepatu, kaki, sampai pinggang papa Ian dan Barley terbentuk. Namun, keajaiban selanjutnya terhenti supaya badan sampai kepala Wilden Lightfoot tak terbentuk.

Barley menyatakan mereka perlu jalankan petualangan melacak batu permata baru supaya bagian tubuh sang papa bisa terbentuk sempurna. Hanya berbekal satu tongkat ajaib dan pengetahuan tentang mantra dari gim, Ian dan Barley mengawali petualangan seru dan penuh emosi.

Sutradara Onward, Dan Scanlon, menyatakan Onward punya kisah unik yang belum pernah diangkat Pixar dan Disney sebelumnya. Scanlon memperlihatkan film selanjutnya terinspirasi dari hubungan bersama saudara laki-lakinya.

I was guessing some of the scores (”slovenly or stylish” or “disarming vs creepy”? What kind of scale are those?) but it’s probably not entirely wrong.

Note

How many times has Namor’s kingdom been over thrown or invaded at this point??

This is really long and if you wanted to count each time it has been destroyed and invaded it’s better to just give you a summary of the history of Atlantis’s treatment in Marvel. Marvel constantly destroys Atlantis, and it’s constantly under threat or has been invaded or Namor has been usurped. We also can’t forget the story of Atlantis begins with its destruction because it fell into the sea. Total count that I can recall is: 20 times of invasion or destruction. Of course there are some issues where the conflict was resolved within the same issue, or there were poisons and toxins as the water was polluted. Also the times that Namor’s cousins tried to take over the throne. These are the major ones and I tried to keep them in order. I hope someday Marvel can actually world build Atlantis rather than constantly tearing it down.

- Atlantis is destroyed and falls into the sea. This is called the Great Cataclysm.

Namor’s whole story begins in 1920 when his home is destroyed.

- When Namor’s father Leonard McKenzie and his crew began blasting the ice above Atlantis which at that point was located in the Antarctic waters, the debris from the explosions caused the city to become damaged and many died. (This is why Princess Fen was sent to the surface, to see what had caused the damage and bring back information, she falls in love, and has Namor.)

- During WWll his waters were invaded by Nazis, though not necessarily the main city, since Atlanteans were kinda spread out and Namor’s people were hurt/captured for experimentation.

- After the war, during an unspecified time in the years that followed, Namor gets amnesia and wanders the surface world and when Johnny Storm helps him regain his memories he finds an outpost that had been destroyed and his people were killed by the humans testing their nuclear bombs in the water. During this unspecified time Atlantis was destroyed by massive earthquakes, Princess Fen and Emperor Thakorr were killed. The reason for the earthquakes occurring were due to the serpent crown being discovered and used by human named Paul Destine (codename Destiny) who was the man who gave Namor amnesia.

- Emma Frost (the white queen) was ordered to bring Namor into the Hellfire Club since Sebastian Shaw (the black king) wanted Namor to become the white king. She fakes a suicide by drowning to get Namor to save her and take her to Atlantis, when Shaw didn’t hear from her for some time he sent out Sentinels to Atlantis, they destroyed parts of it in an attempt to kill Namor. Emma was horrified when she found out Shaw was responsible for the Sentinels.

- Llyra the Lemurian, attempts to marry Namor while disguised as Lady Dorma to usurp the throne and have control of the kingdom, but her plan failed because Namor had already signed the bonding contract with Dorma days before the ceremony. She then kills Namor’s bride after running off from the ceremony. Namor leaves Atlantis because he wants to hunt her down.

- Namor finds a unconscious Magneto in the Savage Land and brings him back to Atlantis to heal, meanwhile Namor goes off on an adventure with the Fantastic Four and returns to find that Magneto had usurped his throne, Namor kicked him out.

- Namor deals with Attuma the Barbarian (an Atlantean enemy) constantly through his comics. Attuma is always trying to take the Throne of Atlantis, so I can’t count how many times Namor has had to fight him off.

- Namor attempts to create a new city for himself and his people after his marriage to Marrina, since he isn’t welcomed back in Atlantis, this city is abandoned when Namor is taken by Neptune to face trial against Zeus.

- Namor fights off the ancient faceless ones, an ancient monster race who attempted to invade Atlantis.

- Namor’s mother, Princess Fen is discovered alive after Namor regains his memories from another round of amnesia, (I think at this point it’s his third time having it?) but in truth it was not Princess Fen, but rather a witch-queen called Artys-Gran, who stole Fen's body in order to release her husband Suma-Ket, a pagan sorcerer-king who had been banished by Namor's ancestor Neptune thousands of years earlier. Fake Fen attempted to usurp the throne as well, but was defeated by Real Fen who was stuck in the witch-queen’s body and Real Fen sacrifices herself for her son and people.

- Llyra (the woman who poisoned his cousin Namora, killed his wife Dorma, and helped kill his father and is Namor’s arch enemy) comes back, disguised as Susan Storm she r*pes Namor (he didn’t consent to sleeping with her) and attempts to tell everyone that her son Llyron, is Namor’s son.

(I need to take a minute here because dammit Bryne. This isn’t how Atlantean society WORKS.)

Turns out that Namor was sterile (HOW? TELL ME HOW BRYNE) because he was a half breed (EVEN THOUGH HE HAS TONS OF KIDS IN AU VERSES. This was also ignored/retconned in later comics) and Llyra had also been sleeping with a bunch of men (disguised as Phoebe Marrs) including Jim Hammond (who can’t give you a baby Llya, he is a freaking android) and Namor’s long lost half-brother Leon McKenzie (turns out Leonard got married at some point and had a kid) Llyra then shows up in Atlantis with a freaking full grown adult son, who was aged by a mad scientist, to lay claim to the throne of Atlantis through his McKenzie blood.

(AHHHHHHHHHH. BRYNE LISTEN THE WHOLE FREAKING POINT OF WHY NAMOR EVEN HAS CLAIM TO THE THRONE IS BECAUSE THE BLOOD OF NEPTUNE! NEPTUNE! NOT MCKENZIE FLOWS THROUGH HIS VEINS! ATLEANS HATE SURFACERS! WHY WAS THIS EVEN ALLOWED, EVERY SINGLE ATLANTEAN COUNCIL MEMBER WHO SIDED WITH THIS WAS TAKING CRAZY PILLS THAT DAY.)

Namor’s nephew Llyron gets the throne and kicks Namor out of Atlantis, right after we have the Atlantis Rising event, where Morgan Le Fay rises the whole city for her purposes and uses her magic for her plan. She is defeated by all the heroes coming together in this crossover event. Namor’s people die horribly, many of them suffocated in dry air, and Atlantis is broken. Namor sits upon an empty throne with no people left.

- At some point Atlantis is restored, during the Civil War arc (first one) Namor sides with Captain America, after the war, Tony Stark occupies Atlantis by keeping his army on the outside border, accuses Namor of terrorism. Namor discovers his long lost son, Kamar, who was responsible for the trouble on the surface, and even after proving that Atlantis had nothing to do with the attacks, still has Tony refusing to leave them alone. Namor orders his people to evacuate secretly, and then kills his son, and the man who murdered his cousin Namorita, by blowing up Atlantis.

- Atlantis is now gone, the people are scattered for a while, Namor sets up a city called Oceanus, then later is approached by Magneto to rebuild Atlantis under Utopia. New Atlantis is made and there is trouble with underwater vampires. This is the Utopia arc during the time of the X-Men. Atlantis is destroyed after Utopia/the Phoenix Five falls.

- Atlantis is rebuilt at some point, and then we have Avengers Secret War event and the Incurisions. Namor and Black Panther (Tchalla) are hostile to each other. Namor attempts to make peace. Queen Shuri orders soldiers to attack Atlantis as revenge for the attack on Wakanda when Namor was phoenix possessed. Namor’s people lay dying as Proxima Midnight invades. Namor sends her to Wakanda.

- Atlantis is now somehow rebuilt at some point. The Squadron Supreme destroys Atlantis and kills Namor. Namor got better by some of Squadron playing with time to bring him back to life, and some members rebuild Atlantis with him.

- Hydra invades Atlantis, and destroys a temple before Namor pretends to comply with them.

- Namor joins Jean Grey’s X-Men, the Kid Abomination is sent to Atlantis and destroys some buildings before being stopped.

- Namor’s warriors were killed by Roxxon soldiers while they were trying to stop Roxxon. Namor captures them, and brings them back to a broken Atlantis. Atlantis had been destroyed by the Final Host, his city was crushed. Namor releases the Roxxon soldiers to the Avengers, however he later kills them by flooding their cells in the surface prison. Meanwhile, the children of Atlantis, tired of their home constantly being destroyed tried to go to the surface to get help from the Avengers. They died on the beach while humans looked on and laughed and didn’t help the atlantean children as they suffocated on air.

After learning of this Namor declares war on the surface world and begins to rebuild Atlantis. This is where we currently are in the comics as of Avengers (2018) #9.

Pairing: Billy Hargrove X OC Bi reader (fem)

Summary: The one where Billy Hargrove meets his match: both are fond of speed, sex, hiding their broken hearts with a cocky smile and drinking away their pain.

Words: 2k+Warnings: Alcohol, Abuse, Strong language, Slight angst.

A/N: I really like the Bad girl meets bad boy narrative so i gave it a try. The reader is Bi so please don’t read if you’re not comfortable with it. (although there’s nothing wrong with being bi). Also this will be a slow update.

Hawkins was a small town in Indiana. With a handful of people living together, greeting each other every day (willingly or unwillingly) it was easier to keep a record of the faces filling up the spaces in the town. Therefore, when a new truck of movers drove into town word spread around like fire. A new family moving in next to the Jones’ house was the only buzz around town.

The Jones were the perfect picket fence family. Mr. Arthur Jones was a sales manager and worked out of town. Mrs. Carol Jones, his wife stayed at home and volunteered to help at the community centre and the church which the family religiously went to every Sunday. The Jones had twin daughters.

Deborah Jones was 7 minutes older. She was the good girl; the star of the family; the poster child for preppy. She studied at an all girl’s school out of town. The school only admitted girls who had the will to excel in the future (re: become good wives by obeying their husbands and looking after a hoard of children). The school was as obnoxious as it sounded and so was Deborah or Debbie as she preferred. The favourite child right from the get go, she was pampered and given the maximum attention.

This perfect family, however, had one ‘stain’ as they liked to privately address her. It was their other daughter, Evelyn.

Unlike her sister, Evelyn went to Hawkins High. Since she became old enough to separate good and bad, she realised she was the child her parents never wanted. She was the black sheep; the rogue wolf; the disappointment and her parents made sure to remind her of that every day. Today, being no exception.

Like every Sunday, the family woke up and got ready to go to church at 7 am and like always Evelyn got ready to go to bed after being out the whole night. Lucky for her she was dropped off by her friend Steve who carefully led her to the window of her room. Evelyn for once was thankful to her parents for giving her the room on the ground floor. She opened the half open window completely and got in as stealthily as her hungover self would allow her to. Much to her dismay her mother opened the door to her room at the same time as she shut the window.

“Evelyn Lily Jones” Evelyn could hear the disapproval dripping from her mom’s voice and she cursed herself for not locking the door the night before.

“Mother dear.” Evelyn turned around wincing at the sight of her mother. Even with the dark tinted sunglasses covering her eyes she could see her mother angrily marching to her.

Her mother angrily snatched the glasses causing Evelyn to wince as she tried to adjust to the sudden brightness.

“You’re hopeless. I know you never come to the church and frankly we don’t want to be seen with you, what with the way you act. But at least start being responsible.” Evelyn resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

“I am sorry, your royal highness. I will clean up and wait here like a good girl while you go to the church and bask in the holiness. Sounds good?” Evelyn stifled her laugh as she could practically see the smoke coming out of her mom’s ears.

As Evelyn was about to turn around her mother grabbed her by the elbow digging her freshly manicured nails into her daughter’s skin and pulled her closer, “I am excusing your behaviour this time. But if you don’t behave tonight in front of our guests I will let your father deal with you. Sounds good?” Her mother gave her a menacing smile.

Evelyn nodded curtly as her mother pulled away. Smoothing her dress her mother gave Evelyn her usual sickening smile and walked out without a word.

As her mother shut the door Evelyn looked down at the skin around her elbow. The marks left by her mother’s fingers were already darkening, tainting her skin. Just another addition to the collection of unlimited bruises that littered her body.

Without any more thought Evelyn walked into the bathroom adjoining her room. Instead of taking a warm bath as she had initially planned Evelyn turned on the faucet and stood under the shower. The cold water cascading down made goose bumps rise on her naked body.

After a long shower Evelyn felt somewhat refreshed, the slight headache from the hangover was starting to fade away. Drying herself off, she walked towards her mirror and stared at her reflection. Unlike her sister’s naturally blonde hair, she had black hair that reached her shoulder. She still remembered the day she bought the dye and coloured her hair without telling her parents. She almost remembered how her father slapped her twice before grounding her for a week for doing that. After that she continued dyeing her just to piss off her parents.

After wearing comfortable clothes she got in bed and pulled the blanket over her head and decided to rest before that dreadful meeting with her parents’ guest.

At around 12 in the noon Evelyn was woken by the shrill ring of the phone. When she padded into the kitchen to receive the phone she realised her family had not returned yet and she was thankful for it. As soon as she picked up the phone Tina’s voice fell on her ear.

“Evie my parents have gone out and we are having a small get together. Now everyone would kill me if you don’t show up. So I am sending Artie to pick you up. No excuses.” Evelyn shook her head at her friend who was probably already tipsy. She knew she had promised her mother and if she failed to keep up with the promise the consequences would be dire. But Evelyn was not going to give up on free booze either. So without giving it another though she changed into something more presentable, hopped into her friend’s car who arrived only minutes later and was off to Tina’s house in no time.

The moment Evelyn arrived at Tina’s house she was greeted by a very drunk Carol who hugged her and refused to let go till her boyfriend pulled her off. She finally made her way to the mini bar after greeting a dozen of people. This is the life Evelyn thought. Booze, friends and more booze. She smiled as she downed the concoction which tasted oddly like cola and whisky. She wasn’t fond of the taste but she liked the warm feeling the alcohol left in her throat. To be honest she craved anything that made her feel something. So she drank some more.

Like Evelyn had predicted Tina’s “little get together” soon turned into a proper rager. This was the best way to spend the weekend and Evelyn wanted to make the most of it. But her happiness was short lived.

Before anybody could scurry out the cops barged in through Tina’s doors. The ones close to the back door ran away while some of them ran away before the three cops could catch them. Evelyn was a little tipsy but she could have easily ran through the back door still she halted when she saw Jim Hopper, the police chief pointing a finger at her as if ordering her to stay where she was. If there was one person she respected and listened to it was Jim Hopper. So she stopped. Within seconds Hopper walked over to her and ushered her to follow him out.

The moment Evelyn stepped out the cold air enveloped her. The sun had set and was now replaced by the moon that shone bright. When she sat in the car Evelyn looked at the watch on Hopper’s wrist, 7:15. Evelyn was hoping that she could miraculously skip the dinner but fate (and Jim hopper had other plans). To top it all the constant glances from hopper were beginning to annoy Evelyn so she just chose to look out the window.

“Why are you doing this Evelyn?” After a moment of silence passed between them Hopper finally spoke up.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about?” Evelyn shrugged and put her feet up on the headboard.

“Hey! Feet off.” Hopper bellowed forcing Evelyn to get her feet off and cower closer to the passenger door. Hopper sighed at her reaction, “this is not healthy Evelyn. Nothing good will come out of this.”

“Has anything good ever happened to me anyway?” Evelyn smiled but the smile did not meet her eyes.

“Kid, you can get out of here. You’re a brilliant student. Just put in some more eff-

“And go where Jim? I don’t belong anywhere. I’ll always be a freak, a disappointment or whatever. My own family doesn’t accept me what makes you think anyone else will?” by the end of her rant erratic breathes left her mouth. This silenced the chief and he sped towards her house. As soon as they reached her house Evelyn sat up straighter and almost as if a switch went off Evelyn’s demeanour changed. She held a shit eating grin and looked over at the older man.

“Wow! That was an intense ride. Need to take the edge off. Got a cig?” Evelyn continued to smile at Hopper.

“No! Now I am gonna take you to your house and I don’t want to see you causing any more trouble.” The chief said as he opened the car door.

“Come on chief as if you didn’t do messed up things back in the days!” Evelyn sassed back.

Rolling his eyes Jim rang the bell. The lights on the porch went on and Evelyn’s dad opened the door.

“Ah! Chief and Evelyn?” Her dad’s expression went from happy to sour.

“Yes! She was helping the guys…uh… at the store to clean up the graffiti from the store wall. I saw her and dropped her off.” Hopper shook her dad’s hand who gave him a tight smile in return and walked in immediately after, completely disregarding her presence.

“Evelyn behave.” Hopper glared at her before walking to his car and driving away.

Evelyn rolled her eyes at his behaviour, “well at least he saved my ass (with a terrible lie)”, she thought. She heaved a huge sigh and made a dash to her room only to be stopped by her mother.

“Evelyn honey come meet our guests.” Her mom’s sickeningly sweet voice fell on her ears. To others it might seem normal, motherly even. But only Evelyn knew it was the silence before the storm. So she walked into the dining room where four unfamiliar faces were sitting with her own family.

“This is my other daughter Evelyn, Evelyn these are the Hargroves.” Mrs. Jones grabbed her daughter’s hand and pushed her towards one of the empty chairs forcing her to sit down.

“Evelyn I am Susan, this is Neil my husband, that’s Maxine my daughter and Billy her step-brother.” Evelyn turned her head to Billy when she heard him scoff. She had to admit it he was good looking. He looked a little different than his family. Almost like an outsider.

Oblivious to his remark Susan continued, “Your mom talked a lot about you.” She smiled.

Evelyn raised her eyebrows and looked at Susan, “Well Susan let me assure you that I am nothing like my mom described me. I am a good person, contrary to what she must’ve said.” The moment she said this her mom hit the spoon in her hands on her daughter’s knuckles which were placed on her knee, under the table. Both her parents, shot daggers at her. As she managed to look away from their faces she saw Billy giving her a smug smile almost as if he was impressed.

“I am just joking.” she said biting her lip to keep herself from smiling.

Susan laughed nervously and so did Evelyn’s mother. Once again they started talking. Susan was busy sharing recipes with Mrs. Jones, while Neil and Mr. Jones excused themselves to walk to the bar. Debbie on the other hand was too busy making eyes at Billy, completely oblivious of how he was looking down her top instead of her face.

Evelyn’s eyes now fell on the little girl, Max. She was sitting quietly, looking down at her plate. She could see Max pushing the peas away from the rest of the food. But when Susan shook her head disapprovingly she groaned and stopped. Evelyn suddenly grabbed the napkin from her lap and gave it to the young girl. She looked up at the older girl questioningly. In response Evelyn nodded towards the peas and back to the napkin. Slowly Max pushed the peas into the napkin and handed it to Evelyn. Both the girls smirked at each other as Max placed the spoon back on the plate.

“Well if you will excuse me.” Evelyn looked at the six people at the table and got up. Disposing the peas in the trash can without anyone noticing she made her way to her room before anyone could object.

Once in her room she threw her jacket away and began unzipping her boots when a knock came on her door.

Rolling her eyes she got up to unlock the door. Evelyn was surprised when she saw that boy from the table. “Billy”, she reminded herself. She raised her eyebrows and crossed her hands in front of her chest.

“Your mom and Susan thought we should socialize considering the fact that we’ll be going to the same school and sadly I don’t have many friends here.” He pouted as he walked in ignoring Evelyn’s protests.

“Dude what the fuck?” She yelled at him as he began pulling the pictures she had pinned on a display board.

“Who’s that?” He shoved a Polaroid in her face. Evelyn had pinned it at the corner of the board almost as if she didn’t want to see it but still refused to throw it away for the sentimental value it held. She pulled the said Polaroid out of his hand and took a good look at the picture. It was perfect. Or that’s what she had said then. Evelyn finally tore her eyes away from the Polaroid and walked away from billy to put the picture on her vanity.

Turning to Billy she said, “That’s none of your business.” He raised his hands in defence, “Just trying to be friendly.” He smiled at her.

“Why don’t you go and be ‘friendly’ with my sister? I am sure she’d love that.” Evelyn crossed her arms and glared at the boy.

“Your sister? Nah! Not my type.” He smirked at Evelyn who rose her eyebrows at him.

Before she could argue with him any further, her mom called for the two of them as the Hargroves wanted to leave.

As tempting as Evelyn thought it would be to stay in her room, the moment her father yelled for her, her feet carried her out of the room automatically. Neil, Susan and Max were already out of the door and as Billy followed behind her, Mrs. Jones who was holding Susan’s dainty fingers murmured, “Hope there was no funny business you two.” And both the women broke out laughing.

Evelyn could only roll her eyes and mutter, “as if.” Only to realise it was the last straw for her father. He grabbed his daughter’s elbow much like her mother had but harder.

“Don’t you wanna say goodbye to our guests Evelyn?” Her father gripped her elbow harder enough to leave a bruise. She suddenly tensed at his actions and blinking away the tears frantically, she muttered a goodbye.
