YEAH RIGHT. HE FUCKING LOVES ME.
Edward Sallow was born in 2226. His family originated from near the Boneyard in the New California Republic. After his father was killed by raiders, his mother sought protection from the Followers of the Apocalypse when Sallow was two years old. She worked at the Boneyard Library as a cook and cleaner, where he learned how to read and took free courses. Sallow became an anthropologist and linguist, and was sent east to the Grand Canyon on his first expedition when he was 20 years old. Joined by a physician named Bill Calhoun, he was assigned to learn the dialects of local tribes. They met up with Joshua Graham, a Mormon missionary who already knew several dialects and planned to teach Sallow. [X] Joshua Graham was born in New Canaan, a Mormon community established in what remained of the city of Ogden, Utah. He grew up in peaceful times, learning the trade of a missionary and an interpreter, due to his natural aptitude for languages. In 2246, Graham received the mission call for his sacred service, to spread the good word to the people of the wasteland. By the time he left his home, he was already fluent in several tribal dialects. His knowledge made him a natural choice when the Followers of the Apocalypse asked for assistance in their expedition to the Grand Canyon. Graham departed Canaan, following the Long 15 and 89 south towards Arizona, meeting Calhoun and Sallow on the way, sent by the Followers to provide education to local tribes and study their dialects. mamma mia! here we go again. this time, instead of sexymen, we're voting on who we Fucking HATE. who's the biggest bastard in this godforsaken franchise? i've picked out some of our fan favorite punching bags to what i hope is your utmost satisfaction.
remember, polls only have room for 12 choices; if i've forgotten your precious behated, feel free add them in the tags! if you disagree with the options, i will send you an unsealed jar of uranium
make your choice, cast your vote, and as always, may the worst one win.

joshua you will be famous forever
(AU explanation under the cut)
graham folger and joshua gillespie were friends since before everything happened, so after MAG2 joshua calls graham and tells him what happened. they both try to find out information about the supernatural to figure out what exactly was going on with the coffin, and consequently end up in a few statements¹. graham starts being hunted by the not!them (and decidedly doesn't tell joshua about it), and after a while joshua ends up deciding it is Probably Not The Best Idea to be actively searching for things that want to kill them, so they drop it for a few years.
then MAG3 happens but since graham had already known that supernatural stuff was real from joshua, he tries to call him but accidently calls oliver banks (who had broken up with him a little less than a year ago, and had started seeing the dreams² at this point/working at the magic shop). oliver declines going to graham's to try and help him with the not!them, but eventually ends up going anyway later out of fear of not being able to do anything about another death.
in the meantime, graham writes the "keep watching" notebooks after realizing that amy patel's stalking keeps the not!them away. joshua finally comes over and convinces graham to talk to amy about the not!them. she agrees to keep an eye on graham more often, and graham gets some better goddamn lights in his flat³.
oliver arrives and confesses that he's also been experiencing the supernatural through his dreams, and the four of them form the "Spooky-Solvers" (name coined by oliver while joking about ghostbusters).
shenanigans ensue
notes:
1. im writing a fanfic (edit: too busy right now might pick that idea up in the future) in TMA transcript format and WILL be making fanart for it. joshua content forever
2. graham and oliver's relationship is all messed up timeline-wise, so i pushed back oliver's stuff by a few years. they broke up in 2003, and he started having his dreams early 2005.
3. lights don't break, graham lives!!!!!! :3
bonus: i draw joshua with The Lonely mist because i am a big advocate of the headcanon that the "Mr. Gillespie was the only person living in that entire building, other seven flats being utterly vacant." was because it was one of Peter Lukas' lonely apartments. forever funny to me

So in my Skyrim fanfic the Dragonborn gets this letter from the Archmage of the College of Winterhold. Says he's got a friend who's "slightly less than alive" and wants the man escorted to the face sculptor in Riften as he's heard the woman has started working on the undead. Promises a great reward if she does the mission, even if the face sculptor turns out not to be working on the undead.
So the Dragonborn goes to Winterhold because big reward, and the guy she's escorting has his face wrapped up in bandages like some sort of Dunmer version of Joshua Graham except only one eye is exposed. And he's a vampire, she can tell that from the one eye she can see.
(Spoiler: It's Dagoth Ur, and the Archmage is the Nerevarine who you may have seen on my page already from the art I commissioned, but neither of these facts are obvious.)
(Fun additional spoiler for fun future chapters: Her mother's an Ashlander and booooooooy is Ashlander mama gonna have a lot to complain about when she sees her daughter again)
I linked it elsewhere but this post is getting more attention so here's the link for those of you who are interested
Faal Hah Wuld (9718 words) by Aladayle Chapters: 7/? Fandom: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Elder Scrolls Rating: Mature Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence Relationships: Female Dunmer Dovahkiin | Dragonborn/Dagoth Ur Characters: Female Dunmer Dovahkiin | Dragonborn (Elder Scrolls), Thorald Gray-Mane, Nord Nerevarine (Elder Scrolls), Dagoth Ur Additional Tags: Post-Skyrim Main Quest, Daedra (Elder Scrolls), The Dragonborn is ADHD, The Author Also Has ADHD, Skyrim Special Edition, Skooma (Elder Scrolls), Skooma is Meth, Thalmor Being Assholes (Elder Scrolls), The Author Is Overly Ambitious, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind References Series: Part 3 of After Destiny Summary: My mother called me Sadrith, because I was born in a mushroom cave. The khajiit caravan we traveled with called me Bishu Aydith, what they told me meant little dreamer, for the grand dreams I was always having. Dragons, flight, empirical wars… Something is wrong with me. Something that makes everything take more to do. Something that scrambles my mind, that gives me wild creativity but takes my ability to do much with it. Something that only skooma seems to help. As my mother once said - Akatosh blessed me with the soul and blood of a dragon, and Sheogorath cursed me, that I may not turn into Tiber Septim. I have defeated Alduin, though as is my mind's wont, I have no idea what to do next. But perhaps with help, I could figure it out.

things that happened from playing fonv live on stream with my friends (playing the Old World Blues DLC edition):
- asked to report on whether every NPC I encountered (which was quite literally just the Think Tank this time) was tweaking or locked in. my verdict? dr. klein, borous, and 8 are tweakin' and dala, 0, and mobius are locked in.
- in honor of this post:
which is not mine btw I just linked my reblog- the phrase "you gonna love it" was uttered so many times that it's now like an immediate trigger for hysterical laughter for me
- one of my friends said Dr. Dala from the Think Tank was a "would" and this was the source of major debate for at least what had to be 5 minutes straight, maybe 10
- joshua graham's fucking special pistol with the really easy to craft .45 auto bullets was the only thing keeping my ill-prepared ass alive through the dlc so far
- I had to turn my difficulty down because I locked myself into Big MT still missing half my supplies after leaving a shitton of stuff behind to play Honest Hearts and didn't go grocery shopping before I left, leaving me with broken equipment, no bullets and pitiful weapons in an inescapable DLC that levels to your character aggressively even beyond LVL 30.
- said I was going to kill myself over the X-13 stealth suit tests multiple times
- visited yes man before making my ill-thought-through Big MT vacation decision just to enjoy his radiant company
- talked about arcade Gannon crucifixion
and so much more

MORE FALLOUT DISCOURSE. PLEASE FUCKING KILL ME I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS AGAIN.
Both sides of this argument are stupid holy shit.
Yes, Mormonism is a cult. Yes, it used to have many racist rules. Yes, religion played a role in colonialism.
But not every Mormon is evil. It isn't a morally bad thing to be Mormon. If anything, it is the church that is exploiting the people that is the true enemy.
As for Graham himself, yes he is unforgivable, but that doesn't mean he cannot redeem himself in his own way. He turned his back on the Legion. Sadly, in a post apocalyptic wasteland where people have to kill, pillage and steal to survive, doing the bare minimum is pretty fucking good in comparison to doing nothing.
Not to mention, when you see him in game, he isn't redeemed yet. It is up to the player to put in the work to redeem him.
Now, I hate Honest Hearts as much as the next person with critical thinking skills, but Joshua Graham is the only saving grace for that DLC just because he is interesting. The rest of that DLC is boring, racist trash. I am not defending it. I'm just tired of the mindless discourse around Graham's character.
EDIT: also if you think people posting about Joshua Graham is what causes people to become Christian Fascists, you don't understand how fascism works and that is dangerous. It takes more than a social media post. Fascism is currently taking hold of North America because of politicians and news hosts. It uses fear to spread it's message. As much as I dislike how conservatives use Graham's character and I think it can potentially be dangerous, that isn't the cause of Christian Fascism. Not to mention, Joshua Graham himself is rather tolerant of the Courier if they flat out tell him if they don't believe in God. If these conservatives don't realize that, then that is their fault for being plain stupid.
