D.P. (Season 2)
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2023
D.P. (Season 2, 2023, South Korea)
Director: Han Jun Hee
Writers: Kim Bo Tong & Han Jun Hee
Mini-review:
The moment has finally come: Netflix's best Korean Original has made its return with a second season. And these two years of waiting have been more than worth it. It seemed impossible but, somehow, this new season is even better than the first one. It preserves all of its many strengths, and then it takes them to the next level. Both the directing and the writing are amazingly intense. I spent six whole hours on the edge of my seat, biting my nails to the quick, and the last two episodes left me breathless. I also loved the show's attempts at experimenting, like the musicality in episode 3 or the horror undertones in episode 4. As for the acting, is there anything left to say? This is a cast full of incredible actors, and all of them give career-best performances. This time round, Jung Hae In and Son Suk Ku are probably the MVPs, but everyone does a flawless job. To sum up, this second season blew away my sky-high expectations, and I really hope we get a third one, cause TV shows don't get better than this.
P.S. There's a lot of triggering content here, so please be careful with that. Those of you who watched the first season already know this, but I'm saying it just in case.

Spring Days 7
Story: 7
Acting: 9
Chemistry: 10
Comparable to: Heaven’s Coin (kdrama)
Considering this is an oldie kdrama, 2005, to be exact, nuttiness and cliche’ness is going to be expected. You know the average amnesia, love triangle, rich boy/poor girl, nasty parent sort of deal. For me I love the old classic dramas so I don’t mind the overdramatic moments which this can seem to be dialed up to a hundred. It’s also nice to see all the actors in their younger years, Jo In Sung was just as brilliant in his early twenties as he is now, as well as Ji Jin Hee, Go Hyun Jung, Han Go Eun. I will add it does have one of the most long LONG looooooong frustrating love triangles ever and the female lead is written in a way where sometimes you just want to throttle her.

Reactions to Miracle Creator's Chapter 150
TL;DR - Jang Hyung vs CH. Jang Hyung's purification. Competition between Namgung Clan, Demon Cult, and Kunlun School. Cale heads to the Evil Alliance.
Soos?
LSH = ❌
CJS = ✅
Jang Hyung versus Choi Han
To be honest, I did not expect to see a fight scene in this chapter. Nor the poetic lines to describe the fight, courtesy of Jegal Mi Ryeo and Heavenly Demon. CJS got a mention here because CH was being compared to him.
There was also the fight between two dragons: CH's black yong (dragon) versus Jang Hyung's Eight Great Styles of the Cloud Dragon (signature technique of the Kunlun School).
I was excited about the fight scene because this was rare! Of course, CH won in the end.
Jang Hyung's Purification
This was probably the longest purification so far - more than two hours. It was because the Black Death Energy had already reached the upper dantian (the brain part).
There was some hostile tension between Jang Hyung and HD, but after the purification ended, Jang Hyung's hostility towards HD lessened.
The Competition
This part was quite funny:
Namgung Tae Wi gets purified -> I, the Sword Saint, and the Namgung Clan will take the lead in the battle against the Blood Cult!
Heavenly Demon gets purified -> The Demon Cult will take the lead in the battle against the Blood Cult!
Jang Hyung gets purified -> The Kunlun School will take the lead in the battle against the Blood Cult!
I guess Cale will not have to worry in his fight against the Blood Cult.
Cale and the Evil Alliance
Cale's interaction with the Sima Clan was also funny. 🤣🤣🤣
Raon: Snacks please.
Sima Pyeong: I have prepared some for you, teacher-nim.
Cale: *sighs and covers face with both hands*
Toonka, Ha Mun, and Sima Jung: *laughing and fighting since morning*
Sima Dan: *drinking alcohol*
Sima Gong: *inviting Ron to a game of dice*
Cale: (I don't want to go to the Evil Alliance. I just want to go home...)
Ending Remarks
Next week is finally the Evil Alliance arc. I wonder who and how many Living Jiangshi we'll encounter there. Anyway, I'll end this post with a translation of HD's perspective on CH's fight.
ROOOOOOOAAAAR!
The black yong chased after it with a roar instead of a cry.
Leisurely, and without hesitation too.
"He's shouting."
Heavenly Demon lightly smiled as if he was interested.
'He's shouting I am here.'
Choi Han.
The owner of that sword was not silent.
He was constantly making his presence known.
Like a lost child shouting that he was here in a place where only darkness lingered.
However, Choi Han did not look like a lost child.
'It's the opposite.'
Choi Han was shouting at the deep darkness.
I am here, embracing a light that was a tiny speck compared to the darkness.
So it seemed like he was shouting to the lost to come here.
'Interesting.'
He was like a child in a way, but his heart was pure and unwavering.
Therefore, that heart must have been contained in his sword.

KARA has released "Hello" ahead of their upcoming comeback with "I Do I Do" on the 24th.
You will of course remember "Hello" was Hara's b-side from "Midnight Queen," her final Japanese single album, with the MV for "Hello" itself being released after her passing.
As it turns out, "Hello" was actually a KARA song that was scrapped out of "Full Bloom," and now, the girls have released a complete version with all six members' voices.
I love you girls 💞❤️

Study introduces lead-coated nickel catalyst for enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction efficiency
In a recent collaboration, a research team developed a hydrogen evolution reaction catalyst that minimizes degradation caused by reverse current in alkaline water electrolysis systems.
The team consists of Professor Yong-Tae Kim, Dr. Sang-Mun Jung, and Yoona Kim, an MSc, from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) and is led by Professor Jeong Woo Han from Seoul National University. Their research was published as a cover paper in the journal Advanced Functional Materials on July 3.
The electricity generated from the renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal are not constant; it fluctuates with weather and climate conditions. To harness and utilize this energy, it must be reliably stored and delivered to the grid, and hydrogen plays a crucial role in this process.
