(Medieval times, there's a Prophecy. Nightmare rules over this kingdom and is supposed to complete this prophecy, he refuses to because it would harm the people. Dream was sent away and banished by Night because he was dis-illusioned into thinking the prophecy was a Good Thing abd what he was raised to complete. Night collected his Knights (Killer, Dust, Horror, and Cross most recently) and trains them and tells them the truth of the prophecy. They're loyal to him. One day the magic of the prophesy (Apple Magic) leaves Nightmare unexpectedly, returning him to the state he was in before he accepted the mantle. This puts a target on his back and gives Dream a huge advantage in maybe making a comeback. The Knight's decide that their King (newly a young lad and variably scared and frightened) must be protected and they run the kingdom as he normally would, while also ensuring he survives and that the prophecy can't be completed.)

It sucks sometimes, being one of the walking wounded. Sometime early on you learned to separate emotion from motion and now you can operate well past all tolerances. You wake up, you go to work, you even smile at the right times, but it's just what you are supposed to do. You can't not. You can't stay in bed. You can't be sad. You can't be mad. Not for any length of time anyway. It doesn't really matter how you feel. Someone might ask but the world doesn't change anyway.

You'll still have the test, you'll still have rent, the lawn still needs to be mowed. Not doing it isn't an option. There's nothing beneath you if you fall so you can't fall.

Hi, just wanted to pop in and say sorry for no art lately. I'm trying to work with my PT to find ways to keep working with less strain. Right now I have a couple of commissions under me and I'm trying to work on those as best I can (I know the wait times are a bit longer right now and I do apologize for that).

I'm trying to get my studies, work and sick leave paper work done, and I'm hoping I can get government aid to afford my meds, since my living benefits will be cut by 80€/month due to government re-working the student benefits act. I am still working somewhat full time at the school and with the children's social services. It doesn't really pay much but the little extra income is necessary right now.

I really want to get back to art, I see all of the wonderful art this community makes and it inspires me to no end. So thank you for sharing all of that.

I hope tomorrow brings more answers, I hope tomorrow is brighter.

D'you ever think about the way Kaito, as Mouri, was one of the only people in on the "fake out that everyone kills each other" plot who didn't make even a fake attempt at someone's life?

Instead he acts (rather in character, but still) a little lost throughout the whole thing, and when he goes down it's to someone turning on him.

In fact, he's one of the first on the scene when Hakuba is the newest "body" and this boy has been to murders. He's seen people die in front of him. He's even killed himself, even if it was his own robot self and counts as self-preservation. But here's someone he knows and if circumstances were different, this could have been real and Hakuba could've died.

Even in disguise he's not willing to play the villain role to that extent - or perhaps he just didn't want to when someone had used his name and implied he would be willing to murder for personal gain.

"No one gets hurt" might not be codified into canon but I think Kaito has his own "I don't want to see people get hurt and die in front of me" and "I don't want to understand the feelings of a murderer" codes written into him regardless.
