A Simple Drabble {Angst}

“Why cant you just give. Up.” Heavy breathing filled the quiet room, gasping, wheezing breaths for air emanating from the man curled on the floor. Nemoto’s eyes bore into his assailant, his kidnapper. He glared. The other merely clicked his tongue, passing another rib shattering kick into Shin’s side that had him crying out behind his gag, gritting his teeth into the fabric. Blood bubbled into it from where he’d bitten his tongue, coloring and staining the threads red.  His hands were tied behind his back, in his hands fell the wristblade he always kept within the lining of his shirts. It was a slow fight as to not have it discovered, but the ropes binding him were slowly being cut and soon enough, he’d be free.  “Weak. Powerless. Idiotic. What the Chisaki Kai saw in you to take you in is ever beyond me. Especially, looking at you now. Maybe he’ll think twice about the men he takes into his group when he sees your corpse. The Shie Hassaikai was once a powerful group, one that was feared when the very name was uttered, and now look at them, taking on the quirkless like this.” The man above him, Tamaya Hide, gave a sneering grin. “That’s what you are right? I mean, with a quirk like that, that's all you'll ever be-” He was cut off by the sound of choking, a hand slowly raising to his bleeding throat as his eyes bulged in surprise. Shin stood ahead of him, risen from the floor and now covered in the bastard’s blood. His eyes seemed to glow in the dark of the room, burning with a fire that spoke heavily of the anger he suppressed.  He didn't dare let the mask slip however, carefully crafter, mastermindedly concocted. He wiped his blade on Hide’s shirt before gently tapping his chest and watching him crumple to the ground. “Weak. Powerless. Idiotic,” he spat.

“My quirk may be weak, sure. The same could be said about plenty. But the separating line between yours and mine, is that I'm stronger. Simply. I didn't need to let my quirk do the work for me.” He sank to his knees, straddling Hide as his hand moved to his neck, blade pointed over his eye. The cut to his throat was a simple warning. He had so much more in store for the man. “You lose your quirk and you're nothing. I lose mine and I go on. The Shie Hassaikai is a name feared not just for the name, but for the actions of its members. Why don't I give you a few examples?”

Odysseus and Woe.Begone

So in this episode Mike is talking to a past version of himself, I just changed up the name from Mike to Odyssues. Just imagine Monster!Ody talking to JustaMan!Ody after he drops the baby.

Odysseus, for what it’s worth, I envy you. You think that you have already lost what makes you human, but caring about that proves that you haven’t yet. You are going to. You are going to. I shudder to think what kind of Odysseus will look back on me and say the same thing. There is somehow always somewhere deeper to plunge. Just because you got used to the falling doesn’t mean the descent is over yet. I haven’t hit the ground, but this must be terminal velocity. We’re going to hit dirt hard enough to kill us, Odysseus. It’s too dark to see when that will be. It could be a time so far away that it is indistinguishable from eternity. What a horrible curse that would be.

It just fits so well! I love it so much. By far my favorite monologue in any podcast. Bro makes music too, PLS go listen. The discord community is so fun.

“If you think you’re going to gain answers from me, you’re sorely mistaken.” It was embarrassing to be captured like this, violet eyes glaring down the barrel of a gun as some lackey of a rival group argued with someone on the phone. Said lackey simply glared at him and shook his fist which nearly made Nemoto snort. There was already a bruise on his cheek, a black eye already forming. Anymore taunting and he was sure that he’d be gutted next. Tongue of snakes. He was used to getting in trouble for his mouth. Nemoto glanced down at his watch, finally tuned ears catching the barest hints of screams from the other side of the building. Seems help had arrived and not too soon. He grinned beneath his mask. Here he was, burdened with glorious purpose.
