Chance: So, you may be wondering, “How on earth are you gonna show a death battle? Is that not too gruesome for TV?” And I say don’t you all worry your pretty little heads. This battle royal is simulated, meaning the contestants will not feel a thing. As it’s styled like The Hunger Games, the aim of the game is to be the last one to survive! The last contestant remaining will get the Victorious Ones trophy from yours truly!

We’ve sent everyone down into their districts. Before I give the signal for everyone to begin, let’s have a listen in to some contestants thoughts through our live video screen!

Chance: Oh ho! A bit of smack talk from one of the contestants! This will be exciting! I wonder if the other contestants are feeling as confident or whether their nerves are getting the best of them!

(The 200 follower event is a go! Each week, I will post what the simulator mentions on it and add some drawings about what’s happened. As I said, I’m not gonna make them gruesome or serious. It will be in a comedic tone with slapstick-styled “deaths”.

Now that you know the very first pairings, feel free to draw your character either talking smack to the other character in your district or perhaps some other form of dialogue. This is not mandatory in any way! This is solely for a bit of fun before I get to drawing the events that are taking place! Even if the Kalos Quintet are all really silly and unprofessional, they still want to break into their art form and spread their wings one way or another.

Serena wants to make horror movies. She longs to be a movie director, making up her own horror stories to tell the world. Not just be someone that tells of others people’s stories. She loves horror and urban legends so much, it was something that gave her comfort in her life. And her desire to make critically acclaimed movies is her giving back to that.

Calem still wants to pursue live-streaming and let’s plays, but he wants to host big events that all the other big streamers do. Going as far as wanting to host the first, in person influencer pokemon tournament, hosted in a stage and everything. He wants to build a sense of community within his live streaming career. Creating a special little hole where he can enjoy himself with other creators, while still entertaining the masses in new and exciting ways.

Shauna wants to make a webcomic. Put in all her heart and soul into making a story that’s inspired by everything else she’s created fanart for. She wants to experience the joy of creating to its fully, while also defining her own sense of self by meshing together different aspects of media she loves, but at the same time coming into her own. And she wants to inspire people through her own stories the way her favorite media has inspired her.

Trevor wants to write pokemon documentaries. Sure he likes telling weird, obscure fun facts about them, but he doesn’t really get to talk about them at length outside of forum posts and his channel. He wants to show people in depth, capture footage on his own, and just learn and tell more. His desire to complete the pokedex and finding out more on his pokemon journey is just that first step.

Tierno wants to make a career out of dancing. He finds dance to be the easiest way to express himself, sure, but he also genuinely finds it fun and enjoys the thrill he gets dancing. Enthralling both himself and the crowd, all while listening to music he loves. He wants to continue getting better and better. Taking pride in improving himself and seeing people wow at what he does. He’s only a hobbyist right now, but he wants to take himself to the stage, appearing in music videos, and film.

They all want to make art. They all want to create. They’re all highly passionate about what they do. It’s only when Lysandre offers them opportunities to make their dreams come true do their dreams and passions start to become corrupted.

Ever since swsh gave the rivals something to do after the fact( something that I believe only happened to Blue), I can't help but think of the rivals prior who haven't. What do you think they end up doing? I know that Blue ends up becoming a gym leader, but would still be interesting what you plan for him too! :3

Hi there @ihopethisendswell! So actually, it's the norm typically for the rivals to have something to do, even if it's just continuing being a roaming trainers. Being a roaming trainer is still just as valid of a career path as other routes given the way the Pokemon world works, it's just not as solid of a career path as say gym leader or research assistant. Pokemon Sword and Shield is one of the only main games that really puts emphasis on the rivals' alternate careers paths as part of the plot outside of the gen 5 games. So like you have Blue who becomes gym leader and also helps his grandpa with his research by still be a roaming trainer (much to the frustration of anyone trying to challenge his gym). By the time of Sun and Moon/USUM he has ditched the gym to become battle facility which ultimately given his status as a former champion ends up being a much more fitting role. Granted he needed that time as a gym leader as long standing humbling exercise so it wasn't a bad call at all. Then we have Silver, who remains a roaming trainer, though he kind of mainly sticks around the Dragon's Den because he really wants to avenge that loss to Lance and show how much he has changed. Then we have Brendan/May (when not the protagonist) who end up going back to being full time assistants professor Birch. Wally on the other hand, is much like Silver in that he continue to be a roaming trainer, with him staying around the Battle Resort in ORAS with him eventually going to the Battle Tree by the time the SM/USUM events occur.

Barry also follows the roaming trainer route with him staying Stark Mountain in Diamond/Pearl and with Platinum he hangs around the Survival area.

Gen 5 is where the rival's future goals get the most attention, and was the best well done (SwSh in my opinion failed hard on the rival's goals bar Klara and Avery's). Bianca is still my favorite "how to do a future career path" ending in the entirety of series which is she really doesn't know. She ends up taking up a position as Professor's Juniper's assistant. However it's this linefrom Bianca in Pokemon Black 2/White 2 that I really enjoyed:

"Actually, I'm not sure being a professor's assistant is really what I want to do... But when I do the work, I have lots and lots of fun!" I really appreciated that they allowed Bianca to have doubts that this is her final career path. She's still a child and I can remember when I was her age (God, I sound so old) how many career paths I thought about in that time frame...and only one of those comes even remotely close to what I'm attempting to go back to school for. I liked how she's just trying to things and aiming for experiences while not trying to commit herself to one specific path. Now obviously this could theoretically be true for any number of the rivals as with the exception of Blue (and Wally although for some odd reason they didn't give him an aged up model considering he'd be just as old as Red and Blue are) we don't see them as adults and their ambitions could very well have indeed changed over the years. Then you have Cheren who after that scolding from Alder really begins to question his pursuit of strength and what he really wants to do. Cue 2 years later in BW2 where we see him as the Aspertia City gym leader as well a lecturer at the trainer's school. Fitting as it shows his desire and capabilities as a trainer but also allowing a more concrete goal than just pursuing strength but actually overseeing the future generations. And Hugh, another one of my favorite characters, concludes his story arc on forgiveness (since he had absolutely none for Team Plasma at the beginning of the story) ends up a roaming trainer but also helping the good side Team Plasma in Driftveil City reunite Pokemon that were stolen during the events of Black/White to their original trainers. So he has a goal and really touching one I might add, one of the few that doesn't revolve around battling or researching.

Then there's the XY rivals who were admittedly the most shafted. They all pretty much end up as roaming trainers except for Trevor who already had the aim of completing the Pokedex for Professor Sycamore and he continues to do so.

The no specific aim works the best, in my opinion, for Shauna as she really didn't have much of a goal to begin with outside of travelling/making memories, and much like I said with Bianca, it's okay for characters to not have a specific end game (although I personally see Bianca's route as better as although she isn't quite sure what she wants to do, she does take initiative and actively pursue a goal to gain experience and see if it's for her).

Serena/Calem (again when not the protag) having no set aim also works because they were most competitive of the group and continuing to be a trainer makes sense, but since they get hardly any development it just feels hollow and not satisfying. At least with characters like Wally, Silver and Barry who are roaming they all went through some major development. Lack of major development plus no end game just makes Serena and Calem unfortunately just not stand out.

Then Tierno...poor Tierno. He's my favorite XY character and I hate that screwed over so poorly. He actually a goal but the game doesn't allow us to see how a dance team would work. Kalos really could've benefitted from a Pokemon Contest/Musical like sidequest where Tierno shines in. So him being a roaming trainer is just...meh.

Now moving on to Gen 7 and best boy Hau (Hau's up there with Blue and Leon as one of my favorite Pokemon characters PERIOD). In both Sun and Moon and USUM he's a roaming trainer but I argue that Sun and Moon actually wrapped up his character better, despite USUM giving him much more in the way of development. By that I mean he explicitly mentions to the player that he wants become strong enough to find his father who fled Alola because the pressure of being the Kahuna's son was too much. So yeah he is still just a regular trainer, but he does have an explicit goal that goes beyond just trying to continue to measure up to the player. He also helps to train the reforming Team Skull grunts in the art of Alolan SuMo. In USUM this is erased for a more generic roaming trainer scenario unfortunately. Gladion's fate also changes depending on what version of the Gen 7 games you play. With Sun and Moon he ends up taking over as Aether's president but also still trains on the side as he is one of the challengers that can come for your title in the post game. In Ultra Sun and Moon he actually takes the "I'm going to Kanto" route instead of Lillie although he actually back and is essentially a roaming trainer since Lusamine's villainy was nerfed and therefore allowed to stay as Aether's president

Then there's Trace who ends up champion then loses it, but keeps on going in this endless circle of trying to reclaim it from the player. And then finally the Gen 8 rivals where we have Bede, Marnie, Klara and Avery all become gym leaders and Hop is a professor. Despite this cast having the most focus on their future paths since the gen 5 rivals I don't think they were done that well. Like Klara and Avery's worked, really well and they're probably the only rivals bar Trace and Blue who actually their goals (with them actually maintaining there dream status because their goal didn't involve becoming champion).

I've talked about Hop's on this post before but the lack of genuine foreshadowing just made his sudden declaration of wanting to be a Pokemon Professor just come out of nowhere. And honestly considering the fact that he had just come out of a depressive stage and still hadn't quite addressed his idolization issues I think he would've been served better with the Bianca route where yes he becomes Sonia's assistant, but it's clear that he's still trying to find his new path and that he's just open to trying out research rather than making a rather bold claim that this was his new career path. Either that or do better in the foreshadowing where he shows he has a much clearer interest in academia but feels like he needs to be a champion like his brother.

Then there's Marnie who I've also stated was kind of screwed over. Because she made it rather clear to Piers she didn't want to be gym leader (which makes sense given that she saw how that position screwed over older brother that she admires). She's pretty much doing this because she still has the motivation to save her hometown which is extremely admirable and mature. But also it's sad, like if she didn't have to do this, would she honestly still be gym leader. I think not, at least not immediately. Considering that gym challengers can still compete on the big stage with the champion's cup rematches and some even can be invited to the Galarian Stars Tournament, I think if I had of written that I would've focused on how with Leon as the head of MC he's going to actually work with Spikemuth to revitalize without shouldering the responsibility on one single person, especially a minor. And let her be a roaming trainer and live for herself and not continue to be Spikemuth's martyr.

Then there's Bede who quite vocally states when crashing the Champion's Cup that he was ready to retire. Like poor boy goes from being used as Rose's wishing star collector and fall boy to Opal's reirement plan. Like yes it's great that Opal actually remembers his name and gives him a support system and teaches him some discipline. But still it's kind of sad as he was very much okay with retiring but more or less gets goaded into staying because of the stadium audience.

So this post got way longer than I what it was going to be but hey that happens. But yeah too long don't read, all of the rivals do have a goal, even if a lot of them end up as roaming trainers. If I'm honest in most cases (bar the gen 6 rivals because they lacked developent) the roaming trainer thing works. Because they're kids and they still have their whole lives ahead of them and they don't need to have concrete job just yet. Especially because in some cases the concrete plan just doesn't always fit the character. It works best when it feels like an organic part of the story and not just trying to wrap things up for the sake of wrapping things up.

Finally, to answer your question about how I deal with Blue. Well in my Pokeverse (dubbed cactusverse in case you see me refer to my AU as this), I tend to be fairly canon compliant to the games. So after he loses his champion title to Red he becomes Viridian gym leader, slightly patches things up with grandfather by helping with the research and eventuallya head of the Battle Tree as an adult once he gains the Battle Legend Status (which is an actual legitimate title in cactusverse held currently only by him, Red and Leaf, although one of my OCs gets this designation as well). So nothing that really deviates from canon except for some offscreen events. Basically the battle legend status is bestowed if a major event happens that is taken care of by an already established powerful trainer. So there's a rather major plot thing the Kanto Trio gets involved in that once they take care of gives them their status.

Also for cactusverse there's the whole issue of the Viridian City gym. So it eventually it gets passed down to Trace as Blue has shown that he's become a bit too powerful to be a gym leader. He was honestly when he first got it probably still a bit overkill for an 8th gym leader, but he also really needed an attitude adjustment. And with Lance being a far better father figure to him than Oak could ever dream of, with the help of Agatha tried to rein in his egotistical and self important ways by giving him the position. Which worked very well. Still in cactusverse there's rules on the win percentage a gym can have and that's determined by position. Win too many for your rank and you get moved, vice versa if you lose too many, and sometimes you might even lose your position. The first and last gym leaders are always the most at risk of losing their status. This actually happens to Wallace, Iris and eventually Raihan because they just end up exceeding the strength of most challengers who try to challenge them. Hence why all three of them end up champions at some point cactusverse (Raihan does not become Galar's champion, but Johto's champion since I really like the idea of him spreading his wings beyong Galar).

Blue between the time of BW2 and SM had ended up getting to a point that no one had gotten a gym badge off of him in a couple of years which is unacceptable by league standards and he would've gotten booted out sooner had Lance not personally asked my OC Terra to come kick his butt and get a badge off of him. And cue possibly the most iconic and brutal gym battles to have ever gone down in a region of outside of Galar because two heartbroken champion tier trainers, who broke each other's heart is a recipe for a frightening battle. Lance happened to referree that match and might be a little traumatized. Terra won and he was able to give out his last badge before Red came back from his latest global trip and said let's go to Alola.

Kalosian Fashion Week: the event to top all events.

Many may not peg the Johto girl of humble beginnings one to care about such ritzy soirees—and those many would most certainly be wrong. Whether it’s window-shopping in Goldenrod, or tuning into DJ Mary’s show to hear the latest on the trends taking the globe by storm, Kris always has had an interest in the world of entertainment and the arts (despite her ineptitude in either fields).

So, when the delicately-written invitation to attend the prestigious event landed in her mailbox (a written invitation, in this day an age!), she packed her overnight bag and headed to Kalos.

I... suppose I’m a little underdressed, she muses to herself, walking the aisles to find her seat upon the very first row. Her dainty sundress certainly isn’t as flashy as the couture worn by many of the other attendees, their ready-to-wear designer threads tailored to perfection. This is no time to be self-conscious! I’m an honored guest, after all...

Hands folded on her lap, her blue eyes wander around the dimly lit room. The runway before her, high above seating level, looks to be rather intimidating this up close, certainly more towering that they typically appear on television. For a second, Kris swears she sees Elesa and Diantha conversing on the opposite side of the room. Her heart skips a beat, though, the moment she notices someone settling in the seat beside her. Someone who’s face she’s seen countless times, whether it be in the tabloids or in an editorial.

“Excuse me, you wouldn’t happen to be... the Serena, would you?” Her tone hides her starstrucked, feverish excitement, the glimmer in her cerulean eyes perhaps betraying that composure.

A quick presentation : As generation 1 kid, I grew up with Pokémon since the beginning! I had the occasion to create and craft my own little AU around that universe that I love deeply, and thought it would be fun to do a little Ask-Blog, as suggested by a dear friend !

Some rules : As stated above, this blog is based on my own AU ! Which is mostly canon-compliance, but also a lot of my own things in it. Basically I take what I like and ignore what I don’t! =p Biggest difference from canon is, of course, the characters aging up ! Some events didn’t happen in the same order as the anime (Alola happened before Kalos, for example, and is based mostly on the game’s story rather than the anime + but papa Kukui is still a thing). I’m totally ignoring Sacha’s travelling to Unys too, even tho you may see some BW characters from the game popping here and there. More infos in the characters’ bios !

I also add my own little twist of some characters getting some sort of elemental powers. Like, the Pokéworld being ruled by elemental magic/energies that gives their powers to Pokémon, and some humans have it too, to a lesser extent. It remains rare and it’s usually a gift from Legendaries Pokémons. It’s something I imagined when I saw the second movie in theaters, and it always stuck with me, because it’s fun?

It means for a long, long while, if Lysandre personally donated a large amount of money to the company-- either out of wanting to support the art because preserving beauty or as a tax write-off--, his damn name would be on every program of every performance 

Like, it would probably be under his family name rather than Lysandre Labs, and especially after the events of X, they’d probably change it from his full name to just the family name so just

on every program. In every performance she’s in, if he had it set up to donate every year automatically. 

And it’s just. Absolutely cursed even in that aspect of her life, he still has a damn hand in it (at least in Kalos)}

I’ve changed my mind, after finishing my 6th art yesterday, I decided to do one or two more (maybe even three, but that's very unlikely) for this event, as I have few more ideas and time for that.

It’s my first comic, not counting terrible Pokémon ones I have done as a kid years ago. That's my first and the best idea and the biggest project for this year Adrienette April. I knew that if Miraculous characters are going to play a video game, that's have to be my favourite series. Pokémon is a big part of my life since my childhood, it's been almost 20 years since I'm a fan (October/November 2000, I think). Although things I like in Pokémon franchise have changed over the years, it has began with the anime, now I can't stand it. And Pokémon is the reason why drawing is my hobby, I spend lots of time at drawing Pokémon and I have designed so many my own monsters (they're called Fakemon in the fandom) in childhood/teenhood, though most of them are terrible.

Characters are playing Pokémon X and Y versions, a pair of VI generation games released in October 2013 worldwide for Nintendo 3DS, they all are playing on 3DS XL, since it's the best version of this handheld available at that moment. It's the battle in early game, because I wanted to show starters in their first evolutionary stages. All in-game text is written in French of course (thanks YouTube videos and PokéPedia, French version of Bulbapedia). There're also French names of Pokémon: Marisson = Chespin Grenousse =  Froakie Feunnec = Fennekin

Froakie's moveset is: Pound Lick Bubble Quick Attack

The choice of the games is not accidental. Pokémon X & Y take place in Kalos, a region based on France. It's second non-Japanese-based region in the Pokémon universe, after V generation Unova (United States-based). Marinette is playing X version as its mascot is Xerneas, Legendary Pokémon of Life (part of Aura Trio), which is related to Creation. While Yveltal, Y version's mascot is called Legendary Pokémon of Destruction in the English version (in the original Japanese it's Death Pokémon, Americans are afraid of using words like "death" or "evil", Dark-type is known as Evil-type in Japan). This is why I have drawn Legendary Pokémon for the background, too. Reshiram and Zekrom of Tao Trio from V generation games would fit Marinette and Adrien too, since they are related to Ying and Yang, but they are not from France-based region.

The choice of starters is based on their colors, Marinette's is blue Froakie, Adrien's green Chespin. I know that Marinette is too smart to use one of the weakest Water-type move against Grass-type Chespin, but bubbles are too fun to draw. ;) Alya and Nino are here too, because I wanted to show all three Kalos starters, besides fennec fox fits the fox Miraculous user perfectly. She loves to pet her Fennekin as much as she can in Pokémon-Amie. Unfortunately, there's no fourth starter for Nino, but he's also playing Pokémon games, although his Kanto starter (which are distributed in Paris-based Lumiose City by professor Sycamore) is Water-type turtle Squirtle of course.

Earlier I also got some ideas for Pokémon x Miraculous arts, like designing Pokémon-based Kwamis or drawing Marinette and Adrien in the Pokémon world in more Pokémon-ish artstyle (and Alya with her fox), but there're always more important things to do. I'm not giving up on my ideas, I'm planning to make my Pokémon AU arts someday. At least I hope. ;)

Because @inhibitcomic wants to hear fan theories, I have a theory that Eve Greenwood’s Inhibit and Spire Eaton’s Recoil (@recoilcomic) exist in the same universe and at/around possibly the same time, but in different countries. For example:

Inhibit occurs in the United Kingdom and Recoil occurs in the Chicago area.

Recoil begins in 2009, evidenced by the breach form Kalo signs in Chapter 3 (as of the latest update, it’s unknown how long Kalo has been at the Croft Center, given time works in weird and strange ways there). Inhibit takes place assumably during present day, placing Victor’s initiation into Urquhart sometime before or around the same time as Kalo’s placement at Croft.

Variation (Inhibit) and Attribute (Recoil) are two words meaning essentially the same thing. A exceptional mutation of human capability not quite powerful enough and/or controlled enough to be labelled a superpower. This could be chalked up to the long documented history of American English/British English terminology differences.

Both societies have different operating policies for individuals with super powers based on historical trends of each country’s experience with the superhuman and their political stances on the imprisonment of dangerous individuals, reflected in Inhibit’s public works and housing/education system/interactions with police, designed to aid individuals in fostering powers, and Recoil’s off-the-grid Croft Center, designed to control/enslave individuals.

Furthermore, Inhibit mentions a grand tradition of super-powered people aiding in society, and Recoil mentions the FAC was created in response to the Witch Hunts of Colonial America, implying powers have existed in-universe long before both series’ events. Agent Fukuda’s talk with the Montberrys confirms the general public know about attributes and the FAC in Recoil. While the FAC in Recoil seem to infer powers are a top-secret operation, it could be that those who have maximum control over their powers are allowed outside, based on the idea of a “release date”. Those without total control end up at Croft, making it like a really messed-up Xavier School.

The inhibitor technology shown in Recoil resembles a universal collar, compared to the retrofitted inhibitors seen in the Earl Institute (bracelets, hearing aids, etc.) This shows either a ten year difference in technology or a difference in how each society treats those with superpowers.

@sethtalon has a theory that Paulina and Victor from Inhibit experience powers outside of the eight variations system, and that the system may be inadequate. Recoil shows attributes can exist well outside of the eight variations system, though this could be chalked up to The United States and The United Kingdom’s population density. If only eight variations show up in the UK, it could also be due to regional differences of how powers are gained, and there may well be only eight powers showing up on British soil. Much like how certain viral infections are more common in Europe or North America.

The Earl/Urquhart/Miller/Larner facilities were designed with enough customization in curriculum and regiment to give people with variations residence, education, variation training, and military training. Croft is based on American mental health facilities, as described by the author. While we don’t know of any other facilities in Recoil, this difference in visibility to society and lack of funding could explain the complete lack of oversight on the part of Croft and the marked difference from Inhibit’s facilities, despite similar technology being available.

A organization like Chalice in Inhibit could have arisen in response to the nature of facilities like Croft being exposed. Given we don’t know much about the Miller facility attack, it could have been pulling similarly heinous actions against its residents.

A lot of Recoil’s fans found the comic specifically from reading Inhibit and vice versa (surface level, but a connection).

Eve Greenwood hella comments on Recoil’s official website and both creators have produced guest art for the other (again, surface level, but a connection)

In conclusion, Recoil and Inhibit are in the same universe, occur around the same time, but Inhibit’s plot could have been caused by Recoil’s plot/endgame.

Headcanon 01: Fashion Week

A fashion week by definition is: a fashion industry event, lasting approximately one week, wherein fashion designers, brands or "houses" display their latest collections in runway fashion shows, displayed on models, to buyers and the media. These events influence trends for the current and upcoming seasons.

Fashion is such an integral part of the pokemon world. It’s used to define a trainers look, a coordinators presentation, a persons personality. It’s integral, and important in the everyday life of trainers, coordinators, athletes, the common person, and so on. 

Fashion Week, some of the biggest events in the fashion world, is a way for designers and stylists to show off their skills and creations. Thus the word couture comes into play. This is the fashion that is seen on the runway. More often then not the models are sewn into these not even five minutes before their walk because the designer was still putting the finishing touches on it. Couture is the fashion that designers create and put forward to showcase their skills and what they can do and create. 

There are four main cities, often referred to as the “Big Four”, there are many notable Fashion Weeks around the regions but the main four cities are the ones of most notoriety (as these were the first four cities to start and hold fashion week). The “Big Four” cities are as followed: Saffron City (Kanto), Hearthome City (Sinnoh), Nimbasa City (Unova), and Lumiose City (Kalos). An invite to any fashion week is of huge honour, an invite to one of the big four is of highest prestige. Guest, model, or designer many vie for the chance to go to one. 

Elesa is often asked personally by designers to walk and showcase their work. A big honour to be asked personally, as many models have to audition for the positions to walk is such a prestige show and even then spots are limited in the show. So to be asked and personally selected to be the one the showcase the artistic and creative designs is of the highest honour in the modelling world. 

Fashion week, though an honour, is a giant blur. There’s so many known faces that show up to see the shows. Guests come show off their own style, designers vying for names walking the carpet before the show to put into their dresses, suits, or outfits. As a model there is no down time as you’re constantly being whisked from one show to the next. From one outfit to another. Then the after parties where the models, designers, and notable guests all mingle. Then repeat. Elesa herself has walked in many shows, being in the blur and whisked around, but she loves it. Loves the passion is brings, the art, the creativity, and the community that fashion week brings to all. 

It’s a spectacle, one that the world, media outlets, and fans alike look forward to. To see what is in style upcoming. what is the best items, accessories, or outfits for contests. The most durable outfits or clothing for battles. The most flattering wear for everyday fashion, or the best conductive material for mega evolution. It brings people from all walks of life together for the weeks of fashion!

Natural Appearance + Incognito Adventures (link here):

- Lisia’s “canon” look is something she has to work for/put on. Her hair is naturally very wavy (see this heckin gorgeous art), so for her Idol look, she has to use various products to prepare and style it into the smooth ponytail and fringe.

- When she wants a break from her fame and fans, she will go out in casual clothes, with her hair down or loosely styled with pretty much no product, so its all wavy. No one recognises her like this. This is her, like, one way to have freedom, she does not share this secret with anyone unless she trusts them. She doesn’t like lying, but if required, she will say her name is Andy Badeaux.

- Personas. This is a very important one. Lisia is different when she is being an Idol and when she is ‘Incognito’. Her fame has a big impact on her. She is more ‘free’ to make mistakes and be more human when she is not an Idol. (link here)

Sootopolitan Bloodline (link here):

- Lisia (and Wallace, and secretly Proton) are descended of the ancient Sootopolitans. This is rare enough as it is, due to the history and mixing of bloodlines, but these three have the recessive traits of the turquoise hair and eyes which was the signature of the ancient Sootopolitans as well as their affinity and connection to Water type pokemon (link here).

- Sootopolitans like Lisia have unique aura (link here) which is very similar to that of water type pokemon and helps draw them to her and bond with them. This aura is also what allows the, now rare, occurrence of pokemon that evolve via Water Stone to evolve without said Water Stone. Lisia’s Vaporeon is evidence of that.

- Lisia has the potential to learn how to use her aura to manipulate water (link here)

- She is drawn to the water and finds it hard to be away from it, it can interfere with her concentration (link here)

NPCs:

- Chaz. A Rich Boy Coordinator that debuted the same day as Lisia. He calls himself her rival. He thinks they have a special connection, and he’s always trying to get her to spend time with him.  (link here)

- Wallace. Lisia’s Uncle. Her idol. He’s the one that got her into Contests. (link here)

- Karine. Lisia’s younger sister. A Pokemon Racer in Kalos. Lowkey rude af. (she doesn’t have to be included, I’m not forcing her on Wallace rpers with them being family etc) (link here)

- Lisia’s Manager. She seems kind and caring and she’s excellent at her job. Lisia trusts her and thinks she has her best interests at heart, but the woman is subtly manipulative. (link here)

Contests and Idol stuff:

- Idol duties + more. Lisia is a very busy girl. A lot of her activities revolves around Contests but there’s also quite a bit more, which opens up opportunities for interactions! (link here)

- Contest Passes. They are what allows someone to participate in a Contest, Lisia carries a few ‘special’ passes around that she gives out during promotions. (link here)

- Entertainment Bureau + managers. There are Contest Halls in certain towns/cities. They’re where the Contests happen, there’s the huge stage areas, multiple dressing rooms, etc. They’re big places. But they’re not where all the organising and such takes place. In the big cities and a few towns, there are Entertainment Bureaus. They’re large office building complexes with multiple divisions within. Different floors have different specialties but they all work rather closely together. The business actually started when several entertainment groups joined together.They all come under the one ‘Entertainment’ umbrella but some of the bigger departments do have their own branches in certain places as well, where the demand is. Pokemon:

- Lisia’s only canon pokemon is her Altaria, Ali. I’ve given Lisia more pokemon for her ‘on hand’ team (link here). Since she has such a huge love of them, Lisia also has a whole hoard of water pokemon and other pokemon she loves particularly. These pokemon are not kept in a PC. (link here)

Interests:

- Space/Stars. Lisia’s mother was an astronomer and so Lisia feels a big love and connection to stars and space. (link here)

- Water/swimming. Due to her Sootopolitan heritage mostly (Sootopolitans favour water type pokemon), Lisia feels a huge calmness from being in/around water. She loves swimming and she would love to meet anyone with water type pokemon, especially the water type specialists.

- Music/Dancing/Theatre/Singing. She took dance, music, and theatre classes when she was younger (link here). She’s also very good at mimicry/impressions. (link here)

End game:

I’ve seen a few rpers talk about ‘character arcs’ which is Awesome so this is my kinda version since I think its super important to have something like that in mind. So…

The Pokemon Journey™ and her view of trainers is very important to her. In the Game, after the Player defeats her in the Master Rank Contest, she says…

“I said the other day that I wondered what made you so special… I think I’ve got a better idea now what it is. See… It’s probably ‘cause you don’t do just contests, <player>… You’re out there filling your Pokédex, taking on Pokémon Gyms, and all kinds of other things! You and your Pokémon shared all those experiences… That’s why you can show off the real appeal of your Pokémon better than any one of us can! I’ve started thinking that I should do the same, Gyms and Pokédex and all.“

Even before I had read that, I had always felt like Lisia would pursue a change such as taking a break from Contests to try a journey. So, as I see it…after enough main verse interactions and development (likely with trainers), Lisia will-

- Take a break from Contests and start a Journey in another region (I’m betting Unova) - Struggle and develop, learning about herself and her pokemon. Grow to be more independent and learn to let herself be herself. And of course become a super badass battler along the way. - Make her return to Hoenn. Perhaps return to Contests since she only intended it to be a break. But I feel like they’ll be too easy for her now maybe. - Want to have more responsibility. Take over from Wallace as ‘guardian’ of the cave/sky pillar. Maybe become Gym Leader one day.
