My controversial Kdrama opinions

1. Ko Moon Young was just a psychologically messed up girl. She isn't the 'girlpower' or 'badass' that the Kdrama fandom likes to dub her into.

2. In 'Hotel del Luna', they could've just chucked the entire character of Gu Chansung out of the window and gave Chang Myung a rebirth/rebirths,make him go through various trials and tribulations to repent and earn Man Wol's forgiveness. Didn't have to make it unnecessarily tragic.

3. Unnecessarily tragic reminds me, the 'realistic' ending of 2521 was a JOKE. There was NO point of developing such a power couple if they were to break up for such a mundane reason.

4. Romance genre isn't Song Kang's 'thing'. He shines better as an actor in non-romance genres.

5. Had they focused on developing Ju Kyung as an individual character who finally learns how to completely take a stand for herself instead of dangling her between Suho and Seojun, 'True Beauty' would've become a more popular and appreciated drama.

6. The love line between Hwang InYeop and Seo Hyun Jin's character in 'Why her: Oh Soo Jae' was absolutely unnecessary and awkward.

7. Jo Bo Ah and Ahn Bo Hyun and an amazing chemistry in 'Military Prosecutor: Do Bae Man'. However, they could've developed a slowburn romance between them instead of abruptly putting a kiss sequence in the last episode out of nowhere.

8. In 'Snowdrop', Eun Young Ro forgiving Soo Ho later on didn't make sense. Their kiss sequence was purely fan service,nothing else.

9. Individual acting aside,Kim Hye Yoon had more chemistry with Lee Jae Wook(2nd lead) than Rowoon(main lead) in 'Extraordinary You'.

10. Writers are overusing 'Let's kill off the main character and make the show tragically memorable' trope wayyy too much.

11. As much as it physically hurts me given the chemistry of the actors,Choi Do Il and Oh In Joo not having any proper romantic sequence till the end of 'Little Women' makes sense to the storyline(the shipper me might've wanted a hug though).

12. Also the writers should stop doing the 'lets make the second lead better than the main lead'. Its annoying to see one person actually making sincere effort for the girl but the girl ends up totally ignoring their effort and like the ML. Not in just Kdramas but in all sorts of dramas. I actually saw a Chinese drama where the second lead finally turned into a villain. I LITERALLY commented 'good for him' lmao.

13. Sunho in 'Cheer Up' is problematic. Neither his sad backstory nor his sincere feelings for Haeyi changes that fact.

14. The Heirs(2013) drama wasted an opportunity to pair Young Do(Kim Woobin) with Yoo Rachel(Kim Jiwon). No, they didn't need to be 'siblings'. I'd have chosen the two heartbroken yet sassy and tough people romance over the sappy romance of the main couple in a heartbeat. And the actors would've NAILED it.

15. Jojo not ending up with Sunho in 'Love Alarm' finally broke the 'Cinderella and Prince Charming' fairytale trope of Kdramas. That girl was too messed up in the head . She didn't need the rich,fierce and impulsive lover, but the quite,patient and thoughtful one. So don't go ahead and say the ending sucked. Maybe they could've made things more coherent, but no the ending didn't suck.

16. Moon Dong Eun should have remained single, with the last episode ending with him crossing paths with Do Yeong, with Yeonjin & gang & all the revenge agenda gone, she could hv offered him a smile and a game of Go, keeping an open ending for them. Lee Do Hyun was fabulous in playing Yeojeong and their chemistry was amazing. But they could hv just been partners in crime with their teamwork without the romantic plot between them.

17. No. Ryu Shi Oh doesn't give second lead syndrome. Byun Woo Seok is a very good actor but he plays the villain in 'Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon' and not anti-hero. Lee Yoo Mi and him should be paired opposite to e/o in some other project in the future but Shi Oh and Nam Soon ain't the 'enemies to lovers' you think it is.

18. After Byun Woo Seok's popularity skyrocketed with 'Lovely Runner', many people dug up his previous works & lamented over not noticing him earlier. People even felt sad that he got his recognition late. But honestly, he wasn't very noticeable as an actor in his earlier stages imo. He kept working hard on his acting skills to get to where he is now. What I applaud about him is not giving up & putting the efforts in all right places but he didn't start from a 100.

19. I'm actually glad they brought back the fresh romcoms in 2024. Got tired of consistently watching crime thrillers,school violence,zombie apocalypse and stuff. I mean, of course they're good. But the key ingredient for Kdramas will always be those cringey classic slightly over-the-top romcoms.

20. Cha Eunwoo's acting in 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty' isn't as bad as people try to make it. His character actually demanded those stank cold expressions that he delivered. In fact, I'd say his character Do Kyeong Seok was one of the first Kdrama male leads that actually understood and empathised with the FL's situation and protected her in his own way without going over-the-top cliche "she is my yeoja and only I can bother her" about it.

Cha Do Hyun (Ji Sung) é um rico herdeiro de uma grande empresa. Com o passar dos anos ele é diagnosticado com transtorno de personalidade múltipla devido a um trauma que aconteceu em sua infância. Constantemente o rapaz é obrigado a travar uma batalha com 7 personalidades diferentes que querem assumir o controle sobre sua vida.  Toda essa situação causa um grande sofrimento, mas ao conhecer a médica residente, Oh Ri Jin (Hwang Jung Eum), ele tem a chance de ter de volta o domínio sobre seu próprio corpo. Em paralelo a história, Oh Ri On (Park Seo Joon), irmão gêmeo de Oh Ri Jin, é um grande escritor que está determinado a descobrir todos os segredos do herdeiro.

Tive o prazer de assistir muitos doramas, porém até hoje nenhum me conquistou tanto quanto este. Confesso que os primeiros episódios quase me fizeram abandonar a história, mas fico grata em ter insistido. Kill Me, Heal Me é o melhor drama que tive a felicidade de conhecer, uma história inesquecível com personagens marcantes que fazem você se envolver completamente com o enredo proposto pelo autor. O ator Ji Sung dá um SHOW no quesito atuação, fazendo com que os espectadores se sintam convencidos que cada personalidade é de fato uma pessoa diferente. Através disso, somos levados a nos envolver com cada uma delas, entender o motivo de estarem ali e o peso que cada uma carrega. Os episódios são surpreendentes, criativos e extremamente divertidos. Pode ter certeza, não existem arrependimentos ao assisti-lo. Esse dorama vai te conquistar!

Oh My Ghost (2015)

Na Bong Sun (Park Bo Young) é extremamente tímida, possuindo uma baixa auto-estima que atrapalha não só seu trabalho como também faz com que ela não tenha amigos e não consiga se aproximar da pessoa que ama.  A jovem possui um dom que a permite ver fantasmas, apesar de ter essa habilidade especial Bong Sun não consegue ver isso como algo bom.

Certo dia, a jovem é possuída por Shin Soon Ae (Kim Seul Gi), uma sedutora fantasminha que está desesperada porque seu tempo na terra está acabando e ela precisa ir para “o outro lado”, pois pode se tornar um espírito do mal. O acontecimento faz com que Bong Sun de repente se transforme em uma mulher confiante e dinâmica, o que chama a atenção de Kang Sun Woo (Jo Jung Suk), o dono do restaurante onde ela trabalha, um arrogante famoso chef de culinária, a quem secretamente a mocinha tem uma queda. As duas garotas então decidem se ajudar.

Oh My Ghost é surpreendente, o que parecia ser somente uma história clichê da menina tímida e sem graça que se apaixona pelo chefe descolado, se torna uma comédia divertida que se desenvolve e cativa de forma agradável. A fantasminha rouba a cena do começo ao fim, proporcionando bons momentos com muitas gargalhadas e trazendo uma ótima narrativa com sua história, que se revela algo diferente daquilo que estamos acostumados a ver em diversos doramas. Um outro grande destaque é o vilão que apresenta uma ótima história pessoal e um bom desenvolvimento, tornando a trama mais envolvente.

Oh My Venus

Kang Joo Eun (Shin Min Ah) era linda, popular, invejada por todas as outras garotas e desejada por todos os meninos na época do ensino médio, tudo isso pelo fato de se encaixar nos padrões de beleza, um corpo lindo e um rosto considerado perfeito. Com o passar dos anos ela conseguiu tudo o que queria, um emprego estável e um relacionamento perfeito de 15 anos com seu namorado do ensino médio, Im Woo Sik ( Jung Gyu Woon). Porém com o tempo a personagem se descuidou tanto com sua saúde quanto com seu corpo e acabou ficando com sobrepeso. As coisas começam a desandar no dia do seu aniversário de namoro, quando Woo Sik decide terminar com ela, deixando a protagonista arrasada.

Ao voltar de uma rápida viagem de negócios que fez para o Estados Unidos, Joo Eun tem um embaraçoso encontro no avião com o famoso personal trainer Kim Yeong Ho (So Ji Sub), que após se envolver em um escândalo acabou sendo forçado a voltar para a coreia, no intuito de esperar que as coisas se acalmem. Neste vôo, Joo Eun passa mal por ingerir pílulas, cafeína e outras bebidas, atento o personal acaba salvando-a.

Em sua volta para Coréia, a protagonista se depara com uma cena que corta seu coração, seu ex-namorado estava traindo-a este tempo todo com sua nova chefe, Oh Soo Jin (Yoo In Young), uma antiga amiga da escola.  A situação espantosamente proporciona um segundo encontro com Kim Yong Ho, que novamente a salva de um cenário humilhante. Determinada a mudar a advogada decide pedir ajuda para voltar a sua boa forma física.

Oh My Venus é uma adorável comédia romântica, que vale a pena ser assistida. Na minha opinião o que a história quer transmitir não é o fato da protagonista tentar se adequar aos padrões impostos pela sociedade, mas sim o momento em que ela entende que ela tinha suas próprias escolhas e que sua saúde era muito importante independente do formato do seu corpo ou sua aparência, ela devia se cuidar e se amar.  A história de amor é bem desenvolvida, o casal principal se ama além daquilo que os olhos revelam. Outro ponto positivo são os personagens secundários, que poderiam até ganhar uma história só para eles.

4 Do you prefer chinese, thai, japanese, or korean dramas?

Probably Korean, since that’s what I started with and have watched way more of. Kdramas are usually the most popular and easiest to find to watch online. While I’ve seen very few, when I do watch jdramas I tend to really take to them, so I’d probably say Japanese dramas as a close second. 

19 Favorite drama couple?

As for main couples in romance dramas, I really like the ones from Flower Boy Next Door and Descendants of the Sun (as well as the wonderful secondary couple!). 

 Now, apparently I cannot just answer this quickly so, with the qualifications being that at least one character is a lead and that the pairing is actually a couple in some capacity at some point, others I love include:

Wang Jung and Hae Soo (Moon Lovers)

King and Taliw (Kiss Me)

24 Favorite male lead character archetype?

I don’t think I really have one... Does second lead count?? Not that there aren’t any I like, but I don’t think there is a specific kind of male lead I will most likely enjoy.

32 Most aesthetically pleasing drama? 

Mr. Sunshine is beautiful, (though the excessive close-ups on dead hands detract from the visual appeal), along with DoTS, Moon Lovers, and Memories of the Alhambra. 

Arthdal Chronicles has some gorgeous scenery shots too, though I didn’t like the look of most of the other scenes.

Literally anything snowy and wintery. Winter clothing, wintry colours, snow!? Automatically beautiful. 

I also enjoy, not just the sweeping scenery shots, but on the small scale, just cute locations like in Age of Youth with the Belle Époque house or Nail Shop Paris.

“Con il 2018 che volge al termine, è arrivato il momento di considerare le parti migliori dell’anno.

Le agenzie mediatiche coreane “News1″ e “dongA” hanno intervistato diversi professionisti del settore per raccoglierne le opinioni sui migliori artisti, rookie ed altro dell’industria K-pop di quest’anno.

News1 ha intervistato i seguenti venticinque dirigenti di agenzie d’intrattenimento:

Resumenes del día 04/02.

Han Mi Young, Huang Ji Sook, Lee Jin Ah y Nam Ae Ra (HABITACIÓN 3, FEM.):

Poco a pocos las chicas van llegando a su habitación, primero Lee Jin Ah, seguida por Huang Ji Sook, Han Mi Young y Nam Ae Ra. No tardaron en presentarse e ir escogiendo camas sin discusiones o polémicas de por medio, los únicos avisos vinieron por parte de las chicas de PLM, una alegando que tendía a levantarse por las noches y otra que no soporta el desorden. Una vez estuvo todo decidido, parecía que las chicas poco tenían que hacer allí, así que fueron abandonando la estancia una a una.

Kang Hyo Yoo, Ho Tae Yoon, Ho Tae Woon (HABITACIÓN 3, MASC.)

Los hermanos Ho (Ho Tae Yoon y Ho Tae Woo) fueron los primero en llegar a la habitación, seguidos por Kang Hyo Yoo. La bienvenida por parte de los chicos de METEOR fue un tanto ruidosa, escogieron las camas con facilidad, y rápidamente se pusieron a bromear sobre sus nombres y que estos confundirían a la audiencia. Parece que todos serán unos chicos bastante ordenados, y no tardaron en ponerse a colocar sus cosas; el resultado final fue un Ho Tae Yoon cayendo dormido sobre su cama, y Kang Hyo Yoo abandonando la habitación.

Kang Hyo Yoo y Lee Jin Ah (ZONAS COMUNES)

Parece que tras abandonar sus habitaciones, Lee Jin Ah y Kang Hyo Yoo, se encontraron en los pasillos, dejándonos ver que son amigos desde hace mucho tiempo. Jinah admitió que le habría gustado compartir habitación con él ya que en su habitación hay una compañera intimidante; dice que se comporta como si todos tuvieran que hacer lo que ella quiere. Además de eso, Hyoyoo le cuenta sobre la situación en su propia habitación, y le hace saber a Jinah sobre el chico con el que comparte cuarto, el amor platónico de la chica. El mayor aprovechó para bromear sobre sacarle fotos a Ho Tae Yoon, sonsacarle información e incluso hablarle sobre ella. Después de algunas risas y negativas por parte de Jinah, ambos se despidieron el uno del otro para volver a sus aposentos.

Lee Jin Ah pierde 5 puntos por hablar mal de una compañera de cuarto y otros 5 puntos por hablar de su crush frente a las cámaras con otro trainee.

Cai Jianjun y Gyeon Jin Woo (HABITACIÓN 4, MASC.)

Un reencuentro de los dos chicos de la misma empresa, parecen grandes amigos y muy cercanos.

Los chicos de VYR, Cai Jianjun y Gyeon Jin Woo, no tardaron en reunirse en la habitación que compartirían, demostrando desde el primer instante en que el que se vieron, que los dos eran bastante cercanos. Lo primero fue escoger las camas, seguido de sacar alguna de sus cosas y ponerse al día. A los dos chicos se les veía algo nerviosos, o al menos habían acudido así a la residencia, y no tardaron en llevar la relación a la gala, empezando a pensar inmediatamente en canciones que podrían escoger. Finalmente los dos decidieron ir a buscar algo de comer.

Huang Ae Sook, Kim Min Ji, Kwon Ae-Ri y Izumi Sayuri (HABITACIÓN 5, FEM.)

Las trainees de VYR, RCKTSR, KSJ y una de las artistas independientes, llegaron a su habitación, presentándose entre ella y disponiéndose a elegir cada una su cama. El primer y único tema que salió a relucir fueron los hábitos nocturnos de cada una, dándonos a entender que Izumi Sayuri habla en sueños y que Kim Min Jin, da patadas y se ríe dormida. Después de ponerse al día, algunas decidieron abandonar la estancia para investigar, mientras que otras prefirieron quedarse para ir instalando sus cosas.

Seong Chan Woo y Ahn Kang Joon (HABITACIÓN 2, MAS.)

Los torbellinos de SYK y KSJ coincidieron como compañeros de habitación, comenzando sus presentaciones con chistes y llenos de risas. No tardaron en elegir sus camas, quedando el uno junto al otro en las literas, y tras unos cuantos de chistes, decidieron que lo mejor era descansar antes de que todo el ajetreo de las preparaciones a la gala comenzaran.

Joo Jae Ki, Liu Jiang Yu y Dai Qiang (HABITACIÓN 5, MASC)

Los chicos se presentaron nada más llegar a la habitación, escogiendo de inmediato sus camas. Además, después de que Dai Qiang escogiera la que estaba junto a la ventana, su compañero de dormitorio, Koo Jae Ki, decidió asustarle con una historia de terror basada en un hecho real, donde su tío acabó con un brote psicótico porque decía que veía por las noches a una anciana asomada a la ventana y arañando las paredes

Chae Gyuri, Park So-Min, Janey Kim y Kwon Soo Yeon (HABITACIÓN 2, FEM.)

Janey Kim llegó primera a la habitación y se hizo con la individual, y tras la llegada de Park So-Min se saludaron amigablemente ya que eran amigas de compañía, escogiendo ella una de las literas superiores; pero cuando llegó Kwon Soo Yeon el ambiente cambió por completo. Parecía que quería una de las camas a toda costa e intimidó a las chicas con sus palabras, menos a Janey, que fue la única que le saltó; alegaba que las dos primeras (Somin y Janey) le debían respeto por ser la mayor. Al final el desenlace llegó, cuando Chae Gyuri (la mayor de la habitación) decidió por todas, y la distribución quedó hecha.

Kwon Soo Yeon pierde 5 puntos por no ser amable con una extranjera e imponerle las costumbres de Corea a pesar de los intentos de las dos jóvenes por explicarle la realidad.

Ahn Sung Kyung, Lee Jun Hye, Kong Ji Hye y Song Bo Mi (HABITACIÓN 4, FEM)

Las chicas fueron llegando a la habitación, presentándose y dejando sus cosas sin ningún inconveniente. No tardó en salir a relucir el tema de si tendrían acceso a las salas de los chicos, dando con que estaba restringido y alegando que allí seguro que cada una tenían a alguien en aquellos dormitorios a quienes querrían ver para sacarles información. También hablaron sobre los hábitos a la hora de dormir, confesando Ahn Sung Kyung que a veces se lesiona por las noches sin darse cuenta, alentando a las demás para que no se asustaran; además, Kong Ji Hye, expresó su deseo porque Kim Eun Yong (de 7DAYS) fuera como profesor a la residencia.

Kill Me Heal Me

A story between a boy with Dissociative Identity Disorder or Multiple Personality Disorder and a girl who is a psychiatrist. As expected to a good kdrama, there are a lot of plot twists, revelations and such so be ready for that.

Jisung, who played the role of Cha Do Hyun, really did a great job portraying his character especially because he has 7 personalities.

If I were to give only one kdrama recommendation, this is the drama that I will recommend. This is good for people who doesn’t know about kdrama but wants to watch but they don’t know what to watch first. Tip: Don’t read anything about this drama in Wikipedia if you don’t want any spoilers.

This drama is just so good, what can I say more. I love love love this drama so much. It’s such a rollercoaster ride when I watched it. It might be very confusing at first (but seriously all kdramas are like that), but you’ll love it. Rate: 10/10

A story about a goblin and protector of souls who is in search for his bride that will end his long life and a high school student that has a painful past. This drama will make your mind go everywhere with all the scenes and events. This drama has a lot of breathtaking cinematographies and poetic lines.

I cried so much, laughed so much, it’s such a mixed emotions while watching this drama. But to be honest, it’s so confusing for my brain to handle with all those scenes and such.

Descendants of the Sun

A Story about a captain of a South Korean Special Forces unit and a doctor. Their love story is so confusing because you’ll never know why, when and how they got angry at each other and then make up together and then they had a quarrel again. Their love story might be confusing but their story is very interesting. Also the story between Seo Dae Young and Yoon Myung Ju and very interesting too.

Personal opinion about the drama:

Why did I even included this on my recommendation? It’s everywhere since last year, it was a major hit. But yeah, as I have said, their love story is very confusing that’s why most of the time I lost track of their relationship. If you have watched The Heirs and Goblin already, you’ll notice that it has the same confusing love story as Descendants of the Sun. If you don’t know yet, The writer of The Heirs and Goblin is also the writer of Descendants of the Sun that’s why it has the same feel about the love story.

I actually don’t know how write the plot of this without giving spoilers so I’m just going to keep it simple. This is a story about a girl who got bullied. Yeah sorry that’s all I can say. It has a lot of plot twists and I never been so angry in my life while watching this drama.

Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

A story about a girl that went back in time during Goryeo Dynasty and she encounters the princes that will change her life. This drama is very emotional and heartbreaking so prepare a lot of tissues for that. The OSTs of this drama are so so good. A lot of plot twists and revelations happened in this kdrama.

I even cried at episode two even though it’s not really something to cry for (I’m a crybaby). I super super love the OSTs of this drama, they give a new meaning to the drama itself. I badly need a season two.

Healer

A story about an illegal mercenary with the codename “Healer” and a girl who is a reporter. If you enjoyed watching Kill Me Heal Me, you will definitely enjoy this drama also. They almost have a similar plot but the plot twists are different, obviously.

From the chemistry of the main casts, the revelations, the plot twists and everything, they gave me goosebumps. I love the part when they play an instrumental every time Healer is about to do something good or bad.

Min Gu tenta se matar e acaba em estado vegetativo. Seu irmão mais novo, Kang Bok Gu (Rain), jura vingança contra Eun Suk. Bok Gu é um hábil lutador de K1 que tem vivido com Han Da Jung (Kim Sa Rang) por sentimento de culpa.
