Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack. The screenplay by James Ashmore Creelman and Ruth Rose was developed from an idea conceived by Cooper and Edgar Wallace. It stars Fay Wray, Bruce Cabot and Robert Armstrong, and opened in New York City on March 2, 1933, to rave reviews. It has been ranked by Rotten Tomatoes as the fourth greatest horror film of all time[5] and the thirty-third greatest film of all time. The film portrays the story of a huge, gorilla-like creature dubbed Kong who perishes in an attempt to possess a beautiful young woman (Wray). King Kong contains stop-motion animation by Willis O'Brien and a music score by Max Steiner. In 1991, it was deemed "culturally, historically and aesthetically significant" by the Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry.[7] A sequel quickly followed with Son of Kong (also released in 1933), with several more films made in the following decades.

Episodes 0 :Introduction
The planet is called Mobius, and the year is 2133. The city is named York New, a place where Mobians and humans live together in special harmony. Amidst the bustling streets, a young fox races through with agile grace. His true name is Miles Prower, but everyone knows him as Tails. Tails is a unique fox, born with two tails, and his yellow fur and sky-blue eyes make him stand out.
Tails' life is marked by both tragedy and talent. His older adopted brother, a brown hedgehog, disappeared mysteriously one day. Despite media coverage calling it a mystery accident, no one knows what happened. Left alone, Tails had to fend for himself. He is a mechanical genius, able to design, build, and repair anything mechanical.
However, Tails has a secret: he is actually only eight years old, not the eighteen or twenty that everyone believes him to be. The laws in York New prohibit anyone younger than fifteen from working, so Tails lies about his age to earn a living. His small stature often raises questions, but he deflects them with clever responses. He might joke, "Oh, umm, what tiny body? You saw this in a horror movie called Orphan? The character Esther Coleman was the same. Calm down, it won't kill you." Or he might say, "Oh yes, like in that medical drama House MD, season 3, episode 10, 'Merry Little Christmas'. Remember Maddy Ralphean? Tiny bodies can be deceiving."
The fear of going to an orphanage drives his deception. Tails has several reasons for avoiding it:
Fear of Harm: He worries that potential adoptive parents might be abusive
Bullying Concerns: He fears being bullied and hurt by other children in the orphanage.
Neglect: He dreads that caregivers might not provide the help and support he needs
Poor Conditions: He has heard troubling rumors about the orphanage being filthy and filled with sickness.
Despite the challenges, Tails finds solace in his small apartment. His earnings from his mechanical work are enough to live comfortably, allowing him to maintain his independence and avoid the perils of the orphanage. Few people know the truth about his situation, and he keeps a low profile.
Tails does have two close friends: Amy Rose and Cream the Rabbit. They visit him regularly, providing companionship and support. Tails cherishes their friendship and often dreams of adventures. However, his deepest wish is to one day reunite with his older brother, the brown hedgehog who vanished without a trace.
Unbeknownst to Tails, his life is about to change forever

"King Kong" (1976) Blog Essay
By: Dayanara Ramos
The 1976 remake of "King Kong" is not exactly a regurgitation of the 1933 film with the monster included, but rather a process of cinematic development like the socioeconomic anxieties of the time mirrored in the story. Instead of being a visual copy of the 1933 film, it is visually surreal in that it revisits the visual style of the 1976 version directed by John Guillermin and produced by Dino De Laurentiis and is a more adventure-like version of the original story. Nevertheless, it utterly makes that by taking the frame of early 1970's USA, exchanging the movie crew. The interconnection of present-day economic issues into the plot is also achieved in a subtle and skillful manner. The film "King Kong" (1976) was released in theatres by Paramount Pictures, and it premiered on December 17, 1976. Acting as a $24-m budget film, the picturesque landscapes and incredible mechanical Kong were supposed to be the attractive features of the events and impress the audiences of the 1970s. The plot is centered on the oil crew of Fred Wilson (Charles Grodin) who by some way meets the mighty monkey King Kong on the island where they fortunately landed on to conduct the expedition. They resolve to bring the primate to New York in an ambitious enterprise that will get them millions of dollars and wealth. Even though the movie is about the relationship between Kong and Dwan (played by Jessica Lange) in her first role after the shipwreck will be saved from it. A beautiful lady and a monstrous creature are seen in an unedited gameplay. This is the manifestation of romantic which is a tragedy.  With a ravenous audience at the end of 1976, it received quite a mixture of reviews, but nevertheless managed to provide one of the most engaging and breath-taking experiences with box office growth of $90 million worldwide. The famous critics such as Roger Ebert gave it a rating of three out of four stars, cutting off its extraordinary special effects and a more serious and less captivating approach compared to the original. However, some of the dialogues and the pacing of the film were pointed out as shortcomings in the film's making. On the other hand, the performance of Kong (guided by Rick Baker, who designed a suit for ape) garnered kudos from spectators because it functioned to evoke sympathy. This is a significant break from the more monstrous representation used in the previous versions of Beauty and the Beast as suggested by John Kenneth.
The 1970s were a flashing sign of the economic turmoil that culminated with the oil crisis of 1973. The historic context is the key factor that allows one to understand the essence of the given filmmaking; it is introducing the oil exploration as a parallel to the film period greed and self-defeating rapture over the resources. The transition in the plot reflects the environmental and ethical problems of the time, presenting Kong as a victim of corporate exploitation instead of just a movie star.
The "King Kong" film adaptation of 1976 which is different from the original 1933 version in the fact that the film's cinematography is in full color; this makes the escapism of Skull Island more intense and makes the grandeur of the 70s New York more than ever so palpable.
Tumblr media
The movie makes use of a romantic and soft approach in Dwan and Kong scenes whose visuals represent this manner immensely. These scenes are obtained with a dreamy effect that shows their developing but finally doomed relationship. The primitiveness of the visual effects, which should be attributed to the period it was produced, was nevertheless ground-breaking in its field, especially on account of the special effects incorporating a life-size model of Kong in some scenes, which provided a tangible yet unwieldy authenticity to the sequences that depicted the monster's interactions.
Tumblr media
"Kong" (1976) keeps mostly to the plot (read 'motion picture' template) of this type of movie, along with a rare theme of coercion and liberation. Nevertheless, it adds a new aspect by showing how the emotional and moral impact of Kong's capture is more important than the physical aspects. In the film, the screenplay gives Kong another plotline that is emotional and sorrowful, especially in this final moment as he is atop WTC instead of the Empire State Building. It expresses the modern outlook and the creative styling of the metropolitan New York skyline.
In the end, "King Kong" (1976) is a movie that holds a special place in the history of cinema of the 1970s.  It is closely related to the cinematic legacy of the 1970s and the social and economic stories of that era. The movie tries to blend magic, the unknown, tragedy, and evolutionary issues by making significant advances around special effects while exploring the sphere of moral congruence profoundly and creatively. With the power to enchant us as the 1933 original does, it is still calm stories of humankind's cruel domination of nature and such a tragic price we pay.

(I forgot to post this yesterday. I had some things on my mind)
This was requested by @kutekite in trade for some art work
They asked me to talk with Luigi about what it can be like to be overshadowed by Mario.
[Interview start]
Garth: Thank you for talking with me today Mr Jupmin.
Luigi: You're welcome and you can just call me Luigi.
Garth: I'm trying to be formal.
Luigi: Well Mister Jupmin was my grandfather's name. Mister Giovanni Jupmin.
Garth: Giovanni Jupmin?
Luigi: No. I said Mister Giovanni Jumpman.
Garth: So his first name is Mister.
Luigi: Yes.
Garth: Uh...why?
Luigi: Well. Back in Italy, my great-grandfather, Lorenzo Jupmin was trapped in a tunnel. The man who saved him went by the name of Mister.
Garth: And he was named after this man.
Luigi: well it was either that or Tharowup (pronounced throw up).
Garth: Okay
...
Garth: So anyways. The question I wanted to ask you. Do you feel like You Are overshadowed by Mario?
Luigi: Uh. That's kind of a complicated question.
Garth: I have time we don't have to get to the airport for another hour.
Luigi: Uh. I guess we can talk on the way. But only if you help me get polterpup into his cage.
Luigi then pulled out a cage that was obviously modeled after a poltergust.
It took us about half an hour to get the polterpup in his Travel Carrier.
Luigi: Hurry up and get in the shuttle. We have to be at the airport in half an hour.
Garth: Alright. Alright. But still you said you would tell me what it's like to be in your brother's shadow.
Luigi: Sigh. Fine.
Luigi: When we were younger, we grew up in Brooklyn. I was always considered the weaker brother. I was always picked last to play basketball. It took me longer to learn how to fix a leaky pipe.
Garth: Wait weren't you taller and could jump higher than Mario. Wouldn't they pick you first to play basketball.
Luigi: It was more about how I acted that made them not want to choose me.
Garth: Well how about when you were older.
Luigi: Me and Mario in high school and college we we're still trying to figure ourselves out. But we were a bit more balanced in our lives. It really wasn't until we had a video game based on our adventures that I started getting the short end of the stick.
After a major plumbing accident happened in the New York sewers. We were hired to fix them. This drum up a lot of business and got the attention of a game designer called Shigeru Miyamoto.
He's already spoke with my parents about what happened with Cranky Kong after a deal with trying to make a game about Popeye fell through. That made the Donkey Kong game.
He wanted to continue and make a game based on our plumbing escapade.
That game happened to be Called Mario Brothers.
Garth: But wasn't that an adventure that you both had.
Luigi: Apparently they changed it for brand purposes. They even did it when we went to the Mushroom Kingdom.
Garth: Side note. How did you and Mario get to the Mushroom Kingdom, I've seen some alternate interpretations.
Luigi: Okay. One day a woman called us up to fix her bathtub, she had to get ready for a party or some other event.
Garth: Whatever happened to her?
Luigi:Not sure. But I want to get back to the story.
Luigi: So me and Mario travel throughout multiple locations to try and find the kidnapped princess from King Bowser Koopa. We eat some mushrooms and fire flowers. We use a power star but because we didn't know it's true power it just gives us invincibility. We meet Toad and he gives us a rude gesture (not the one you're thinking of). Rinse and repeat 8 times till we find the princess.
Garth: Oh I know it happens next. You both move to the Mushroom Kingdom after Merida offers you both the title of SUPER. But I still don't understand why you didn't want the title.
Luigi: It was a personal choice. I didn't want it. I didn't know that much about it or understand why a robot dressed in Tweed is talking to us about being a hero. I'm willing to help my brother and others. But I didn't understand the concept enough to accept it.
Mario however was the more heroic of the two of us. So he took the offer.
Garth: So it is true. Only a willing person can become SUPER.
Luigi: That's nice and all but I thought we were having this conversation about me feeling overshadowed.
Garth: Oh sorry. Please continue
Luigi: As the years passed I felt a bit...Small. it would always Be the "Super Mario Brothers" and never "SUPER Mario and Luigi". In fact I would sometimes not even appear in games regardless of whether or not I actually went on those adventures.
Garth: Must have been tough. Was there any way that you coped.
Luigi: Well there were things that I did to try and get my mind off of it. I played sports like tennis and golf. Of course there were also some unhealthy ways to process this. I can give a pretty deadly stare if someone passes ahead of me while driving. When I go use the poltergust (which is an entirely different matter I don't want to get into right now) I can get the little rough when capturing a mean ghost. And of course it is my power star form. Negative Zone Luigi. Which is the literal obvious representation of me being in my brother's shadow.
Garth: Man. That is..Something.
Luigi: That isn't the last of it though. During the events of the Pure Hearts and Count Bleck. I was hypnotized and became Mister L.
Garth: Oh. So you also reference your own grandfather while also chaneling your possible rreincarnation of Bleckss Grandfather.
Luigi: Look if you know the story as well as I do. Why don't you tell it.
Garth: Sorry. Uh. Please continue.
Luigi: After the whole fusing with Dimentio thing and returning to the Mushroom Kingdom. I had a talk with Mario. I actually revealed that I wasn't entirely under the control of Dimentio's spell. It was just that that piece of me that wasn't under control was my resentment.
[Flashback]
Flashback Mario: So You are...upset with me?
Flashback Luigi: Well...kind of.
Flashback Mario: You don't have to tell me if you don't want to.
Flashback Luigi: No. I feel like things won't get better unless I confront these feelings head on.
Flashback Luigi: Mario. I feel like I am not respected.
Flashback Mario: I respect you.
Flashback Luigi: I know that but it doesn't feel like that sometimes. I mean with the video games and how people react to you compared to me. There was evan that time where I won that tennis game and you stepped on my foot repeatedly WHILE I was receiving my trophy.
Flashback Mario: Yeah. Sorry about that. I hadn't had enough sleep and I was a bit groggy after that night. But I did let you pull my mustache as revenge.
Flashback Luigi: Look. I don't want to talk about revenge or punishment. I want to talk about the root of the problem.
Flashback Mario: Oh. Well if you want to. Go ahead.
Flashback Luigi: I feel like I don't get enough respect and that I'm in your shadow.
Flashback Mario: Luigi. You know you're my equal.
Flashback Luigi: Do I? Because it seems like most of the time I get the short end of the stick. Super Mario Brothers instead of Super Mario and Luigi. My first ever game was an educational game based on an event that never happened. And the second game to focus on me only got made because of us both getting tricked by some boos plus the fact that Kopai needed something to show the Game Cubes effects.
Flashback Mario: Woah... Luigi. I didn't know you felt this way. Or at the very least is this deeply.
Flashback Luigi: Well I do. I'm hoping we can talk about this more.
Flashback Mario: I hope so to.
[Present day]
Luigi: We make sure that we talk about our relationship every once in awhile. And we're better brothers because of it.
Garth: Well that's nice to hear.
Luigi: Yeah it sure is.
Shuttle Driver: Hey. You two. The story was nice and all but you have to get off the shuttle. We arrived here 45 minutes ago.
Luigi: We better get off. We are late and our flight is in 5 hours. The rest of the game probably arrived here before us.
Garth: Okay but I have one last thing to ask.
Luigi: Make it quick.
Garth: Where's Polterpup
Luigi: That's easy. He is in his ca...
Luigi: Where is he!?!?
Garth: I think he's eating that venders kebabs at that kebab cart.
Luigi: [While running after Polterpup] POLTERPUP!!!
[Interview end]
Garth signing off.

A realistic New York City. (Franco Morgante)
As WWII was coming to a close, people were starting to get a little sick of the overwhelmingly patriotic propaganda of the time. The Axis powers have been defeated and without an enemy to fight, films started to pivot to more realistic stories. An article from Paul Schrader goes more in depth with this idea by saying “The realistic movement also suited America’s post war mood, the public’s desire for a more honest and harsh view of America would not be satisfied by the same studio streets they had been watching for a dozen years” (Schrader, page 55). People wanted films that were more realistic as the censored and sanitized Hollywood depictions of America had become tiring for audiences. This is probably why The Naked City takes place in New York City and features shots of the city at the time. As it was done to have a more lifelike version of New York City rather than a manufactured Hollywood set.
Another film that I saw recently that I think would fit this quote was Peter Jackson’s King Kong. Despite being in the film being made in 2005, New York City was designed to look more like how it did back during 1933 to provide a more realistic depiction of the film’s time period. However, this quote only applies to the settings of these films. Both plots of these films aren’t really about showing the day-to-day life of an NYC citizen per say. The Naked City is mainly a film noir crime drama and King Kong is a fantastical adventure film with a giant monster. Despite this these two films can still be appreciated for at least showing a more realistic version of New York City rather than taking the easy way out and building a set version of New York City.

1990s–2000s This era is home to some of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ most iconic films, including Beauty and the Beast (1991) and Aladdin (1992). Disney Theatrical Productions also launched in the 1990s, with The Lion King debuting on Broadway in 1997—and it’s still performed in New York today! We also see an ABC camera and an ESPN microphone in this piece to celebrate the TV networks, which joined the Disney family in 1996. Six theme parks opened during this era—Disneyland Paris (originally called Euro Disneyland) in 1992; Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park in 1998; Disney California Adventure Park and Tokyo DisneySea in 2001; the Paris-based Walt Disney Studios Park in 2002; and Hong Kong Disneyland in 2005—and Disney Cruise Line’s first ship, the Disney Magic, embarked on its maiden voyage in 1998. In 2006, Disney welcomed Pixar Animation Studios to the company, so we see the Pixar ball along with Woody and Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story films, Lightning McQueen from Cars (2006), Nemo and Dory from Finding Nemo (2003), and Carl’s house from Up (2009).
