He’s Mine - open roleplay - Dark/Possessive/Manipulative Macaque x Sun Wukong

Idea: Macaque getting possessive over Wukong and Mk after several demons try to kidnap Mk and force Wukong into a demon marriage.

‘Well shit.’ A figure thought carrying a small squirming bundle in their arms as they raced through the alleys and backstreets. Their energy practically drained from the arcane laws the ones chasing them had invoked. Golden blood leaked from a deep wound on their side while flashes of a thick black choker was wrapped snuggly around the being’s dark blood-drenched neck in the weak lights.

The being was tired and exhausted but the fear of what would happen to the squirming bundle in their arms if they got caught spurred them on as the being came to a dead-end ally jumping to the corner and using the walls and their reduced agility to maneuver to over the wall tucking into a roll on the other side as the ring of a firearm followed by blinding pain in their leg nearly made them crumble. “Fuck!” the being cursed as they forced their body to keep running as more echoes of firearms came from being them.

They ducked into a slim dark wedge of a side street hidden behind some dumpsters panting hard while their heart pounded in their chest, pressing their back against the cold metal to help them focus on anything put the pain in their leg.

They slowed their breath as they heard many feet just outside of their hiding place.

“God damn it! How hard is it to find a bright gold monkey with a slave collar bleeding out and shot several times?! He should be incapacitated by now!” a demon snarled while the clicks of a gun being reloaded filled the hidden one’s ears.

“He’s still a God in his own right Boss. He went utterly savage on the few that tried to grab the kid he took under his wing.”

“Find him! Find him and bring him to me! I'm going to enjoy threatening that kid that fucking monkey has and making that false King scream when I hold a gun to that other monkey’s head!”

The being hiding in the the side ally grit his teeth and makes his choice. […Shadow… please… I need help…] the being mentally projected down a frayed and decaying connection long ignored hoping he didn't make the wrong choice as pain flared around his neck from the choker squeezing his his throat shut depriving him of breath causing instinct to kick in. [*MIHOU!*] they mentally screamed while they gasped for air golden tears glittering down their face in the dim light try in to pull off the choker that sent shocks of divine energy into their body.

Shadows writhed and grew around the being writhing and gasping for breath vision swimming as a blurry black figure with glowing purple eyes came close tenderly cupping their face in their hands. “Shush~ I'm here now Gem~ Sleep, i’ll take care of the *pests*~”

The being felt their body go slack before they slipped into the darkness of unconsciousness free of the pain their body had been subjected to for the past month running around the city from demon after demon trying to make them submit. They felt light in the black void but they knew it was only a matter of time before they woke up in the Shadow’s possessive embrace. ‘One must pay a price to leave the Diyu before the cycle claims them… I gave up entering the cycle of life and death… Just what did he give up to become so obsessed with me after he became free from that ice bitch?’

Me: YOU NEED TO REST (drifted off Again tonight oops)

Also me: what if I saw Monkey Man again, ah and King Tide looked pretty good (chants Ocean Ocean Ocean), and I’d see Fall Guy… and there’s an event I need to go see bc one of my friends made part of it and in addition to saying I’d go if I could I REALLY want to see it and Thursday is the only day I’m free for it I think bc my schedule is FUCKED for Mother’s Day (I decorate cakes) and so I work the Friday/Saturday and then Sunday-Thursday so I work 7 in a row :( (it’s ok bc I’m fucking off for a vacation to visit a beloved friend and then see sleep token at the end of May though :)) (even if I still need to find out if I’m getting my vacation pay bc something beginning of new fiscal year vacation time reload I don’t fully understand this accrual system.

…this is going to require COORDINATION and poor impulse control. (I mean something something I don’t want to miss out) (…I’m going to have to draw out my options methinks…) (and bc I kinda suck if there’s one or two concerts I can get concert week tickets for I probably would… if mum pays me back for the groceries by then bc I asked her to bc currently I’m broke after paying my taxes) (I’m not in *as* bad a position as I thought I’d be but it’s still not great bc I don’t know about my vacation pay)

Discworld | Part 8

Time to continue my exploration and gathering information on what it takes to be a hero. Next up I went to the Inn to see what was happening there now.

Inn:

New stuff outside!

We've got an inn/bar-keeper, a sailor, Gaspode the Wonder Dog who talks and his wooden man, I mean totally normally man and not a weird puppet? at all.

Gaspode was basically using the wooden man as a ventriloquist dummy and every time I tried to talk to the sailor Gaspode would take over there, too. I tried giving Gaspode the bone, but he just spat it out when I tried talking to the sailor and I lost it. I reloaded then left for now but would be back.

Street: Toy Shop: the toy bin had new toys: this time a dinosaur! Otherwise things were unchanged.

Dino.

I didn't find much else of interest in the Street areas, although the fishmonger was back and no longer being tormented, I mean loved on, by the toilet octopus.

Shades: Hovel: Found a knife in a bag of thief's tools.

House of Negotiable Affection: I chatted with one of the ladies there and found out a hero should have camel-flage (possibly a kind of perfume according to her?)

My last location in the city was the newly opened Sybil Ramkin's Dragon Sanctuary for swamp dragons which are far less dangerous than the current full dragon terrorizing the city. Swamp dragons are mostly a terror to themselves with their tendency to explode very easily.

I met her at the door after knocking but she told me to come round the back as she's feeding her darlings.

So to the dragon pens!

And this has gotta be a Monkey Island reference. "That's the second largest woman I've ever seen!"

Monkey Island: "That's the second biggest monkey head I've ever seen!"

Unless they're both referencing something else.

There were a few things to do here. I scooped up a nail and a leash. She seemed fine with me just taking the leash... Of course I had to examine all the dragons it would let me.

There was also a blue rosette and ribbon, but I couldn't grab it without Sybil chatting at me. It was a reward for one of her prize winning dragons. The dunnyking, er, custard king, was calling his custard blue ribbon custard, the best custard. So I figured there's a connection there.

I chatted with Sybil and discovered she WAS the woman at the barber's from early in the game as I wondered. I also learned of the swamp dragons' drive to eat anything that will help work their digestion up for flames but will often overdo it and explode. One of them sadly exploded during the conversation.

I moved on and decided to deal with the areas outside the city next.

I went to the woods only to find the barber still there still waiting on the girl ever coming to meet him. I didn't get anything else though. I next went to the Edge of the World, or rather I tried to but then things took a little diversion.

As Rincewind started to enter the water a big monster showed up.

By its many eyes and tentacles I can only assume it's meant to be a Thing from the Dungeon DImensions, which I'm not sure the game has mentioned yet or I may have forgotten. It's possible one of the wizards referred to it before. Either way, things weren't looking good for our wizard here until a giant hand suddenly came down and scooped him away leaving him in a tight place.

Then I was shown a scene of the gods in Dunmanifestin. The gods were arguing about cheating and trying to swap dice. The God, Offler seems to be planning another meeting with one of his monks. This was all, I assume, meant to be in reference to some events in the first books, but it felt like it came from nowhere in this game and would probably confuse players who hadn't read The Colour of Magic... I guess it's a note that the gods are watching and life on the Disc is all a game to them. Certainly, Rincewind's fate is.

Anyway, after a bit of back and forth it had turned out Lady Luck (I assume her) had whisked away Rincewind and stashed him in her bosom... She released him again and placed him back on the Disc.

Then I was back to my own devices and continued on my way to the Edge of the World where I found nothing new.

After all of that diversion and potential foreshadowing, there's really nothing to do but carry on business as usual. I moved onto the mountain pass, but found nothing there either, so I continued on to Nanny Ogg's place. She's home now and was knitting.

By examining a very long winding string of wool, Rincewind started following it until finding a hatch that led out back where I found a mallet and a sheep!

Aside from getting the mallet and appreciating the sheep I wasn't sure what else to do here, so I made note of Her Wooliness and took off again.

Cue another wander and fiddling with items while I tried to figure out what to do next and what I might have missed.

I went again to the inn, and tried the bone again, but still resulted in Gaspode spitting it back out with no further hints. So, I left and went to the dungeon to see if I could get another bone. That wasn't a problem and while I was there I took another look at the mouse-hole. Just like way back when I was trying to get an imp, I tied the twine to the worm and set the worm on the hole. A rat came out and Rincewind caught it.

Examining and using it revealed it had a zipper on its back and was actually just a rat costume for... an imp! Or possibly the same imp! So I've got the imp back for the camera.

I realized I forgot to go to the brotherhood's hideout when I was doing my city sweep, so I went there, did the usual password at the door and got handed a custard tart. I will never be free of custard.

Back at Nanny Ogg's I took a photo of the sheep.

I went back to Sybil's and this time figured out how to get the blue rosette by knocking at the front door to summon Sybil then leaving her without saying anything to go back to the pens and snag the ribbon before she came back. I've had that framed octopus picture for ages. I was able to put the sheep picture in it instead... I look forward to seeing what that'll be used for. I went again to the toy shop thinking maybe I could somehow glue the blue ribbon? Get it to stick to the custard tart container? I dunno. That didn't work but I realized, sticky! I needed something sticky to keep Gaspode from spitting out the bone. And so I glued up the bone. That would hopefully solve my problem with Gaspode.

Yeah, the gluey bone kept Gaspode from spitting it back out, so I was able to talk to the sailor without interference this time. He wanted some milk but I was able to get some from the barkeep then he talked.

He told me some tales about Amazon women, but also, importantly the topic of his tattoo came up. However, he won't say where he got it until his parrot, Polly, is found. He gave me a whistle to summon the parrot.

The only place I've seen birds is at the edge of the world, so I went back there again and with the whistle was able to summon Polly. He stayed in the air and like a stereotypical parrot, he did the ol' Polly want a cracker. I didn't have crackers, but I had a firecracker... I launched it at him knocking him into the water, but still out of reach. He's fine just a bit stunned. I tried the butterfly net and Rincewind did do an animation with it reaching out, but it couldn't reach.

I hit a point of just trying stuff on stuff. I thought maybe the snake might be involved somehow? Since it's long? Turned out I could stiffen it with starch and make it longer with the fertilizer for an extremely long stiff snake with magic markings and even with a knob on the end.

It didn't work for extending the butterfly net, but a knob on the end brings a wizard's staff to mind and Windle still had one, so I went back to UU. And swapped his staff again.

I got an extending stick which I could attach to my butterfly net and I caught the parrot at last.

Triumphant, I brought him back to the sailor only to discover that I had dropped his whistle. Now, something had gone by when I was catching Polly and I guess that must have been the whistle and I didn't realize. That was his handcrafted Hublander whistle from his mother, so now he was too distraught to talk still and I had to go back and find the whistle that was swept over the edge of the world.

At first I thought with the fork there looking like part of a slingshot maybe I'd need to launch something. Like maybe one of the birds had scooped the whistle or caught a fish that caught the whistle as the game had made a point that the birds catch fish going over the edge.

With that in mind I thought of the rubber belt as part of the dunnyking's machine. I was able to use the knife to cut away the belt and get it. Unfortunately, that wasn't the answer.

I needed to use the magic hat with the endless ribbons. That led to a ribbon rope going over the edge that I was able to use to climb down.

Part way down I had another run-in with Death who's just watching as usual as it's not time yet, but he dropped some more foreshadowing for seeing Rincewind again in the Square...

Then I climbed further down to end up on the shell of the Great A'Tuin itself, the world turtle.

The whistle was just lying on the shell and I was able to grab it. I didn't see anything else but hopefully didn't miss anything. I left anyway.

After all that, I was able to finally find out how to get a tattoo: go to the barber. That's it. I suspected it'd be him.

Except, he's still waiting for the girl. I stopped by his shop just in case and it was a good thing I did as I had missed a pair of scissors and an appointment book with nice big pages. I brought the book to the milkmaid/actress to get her to sign it which she did.

I then went to see the barber in the woods who was too busy thinking about her to come back, but with the signed appointment book was convinced she would come in for an appointment, so he went back.

Finally, I thought. Before I went back, since I had to pass through the City Gate anyway, I talked to Nobby again now I had collected a bunch of information about what a hero needs. I was able to try different combos of things to get the odds again and confirm what I learned.

Trying everything resulted in odds too high. It's gotta be exactly 1 million. The combination I'll need is:

Magic Talisman

Mustache

Birthmark

Magic Book

Camo-flage

Sword that goes ting

Six items again. I'm hoping the dragon summoning book counts as the magic book, though, so that I only need to find five items and I was well on the way for the birthmark as that's what the tattoo would cover.

So, I moved on to the barber and talked with him. He went into somewhat graphic detail about giving a tattoo and Rincewind chickened out. However, he offered another suggestion: a temporary transfer fake tattoo. His son gets them with bubblegum. His son is the lovable street starfish. And so this all continues...

I went to talk to the street urchin, but he wouldn't just give me one because he's collecting them.

So I needed to figure out some way to get it from him while he's holding it up being all taunting. Or I need to do something to him before that stage. I don't know, but the steps to get this tattoo feel never-ending and that's just one of the items.

I also talked to the old folks again while I was in the square in case they had anything helpful. I had the option to ask about the magic talisman that I must not have checked back on with them. They suggested the "Eye of Offler" in the secret temple of Offler. Only the bravest, most fantastic adventurer could stand a chance of finding out where the temple is. I figured on that braggart in the Broken Drum.

So, my next steps will be to take a last look at my current stuff with this street urchin and then if nothing works there, start pursuing the Temple of Offler in hopes that maybe I'll find something helpful along the way.

Hopefully next time will come much progress on getting these items.

taskmaster (s1-5): haven't done an early seasons rewatch in so long, s4 and 5 are basically perfect 2 me. incredible that mark watson manages to be both my favourite type of taskmaster guy (hopelessly despairing) and also nearly won the thing lol. nish forever obviously

silo: got well into this! probably at some point apple will stop throwing millions at sci-fi shows but i'm going to enjoy their folly in the meantime

mission: impossible ii: hadn't seen this one! the weakest of the lot but the john woo of it all is undeniable

mission: impossible iii: PSH outrageously good as the villain, hi keri russell

mission: impossible - ghost protocol: so much fun, especially the sequences where you can see brad bird's animation brain going

mission: impossible - rogue nation: ILSA my beloved, the opera sequence is so gorgeous, no notes!

mission: impossible - fallout: it's good when henry cavill reloads his arms, it's better when tom cruise is sprinting around london rooftops and breaking his ankle etc, my most basic trait is that i Love when they're in london like oooh tate modern. anyway i'm very ready for dead reckoning

asteroid city: the bits about making art really got to me! the vending machines were cool!

joint security area: crash landing on you prepared me for this, blank check weren't lying when they said it was homoerotic, song kang-ho forever etc

arctic monkeys - sometimes you just want to be in a field with one of your oldest friends singing the songs of your youth!! i love the 70s act actually! there are so many sexy songs on AM!! the skies finally cleared for the beautiful full moon, thank you belgium, good night

Hello again Monkey Ruler! Also I'd like to ask...

Is there any JttW movies that're futuristic/modern era? I've watched a few JttW movies where it takes place in the times where it takes place (during the journey), but what about in the future?

Idk I like the idea of both collide. I remember Nezha Reborn being dystopian Steampunk, but I wanna know if there's a cyberpunkish one~

So there are like… ESTRANGED future versions from what I’ve seen.

The two biggest future shows I can think of is like 1978 Sun Wukong and the War of the Stars 손오공과 별들의 전쟁 孙悟空与星球大战 and 1978 Science Fiction Saiyuki Starzinger SF 西遊記スタージンガー which were really big on the science fiction but with Journey to the West. Otherwise, there haven't been a lot of 'future' takes similar to that at least recently.

There is this one called a 2016 Bling 슈퍼 프렌즈 机械西游? It’s strange and less of a sci-fi and more of a robot movie. And 2010Laughing Journey嘻哈游记 that looks more like some kinda barely Xiyouji connected media.

And as for modern tv shows or movies, there are just too many to count really. I’m still categorizing the shows but from what I can tell I have about 27 continuations and about 15 of those are in modern times. There are also a few alternative universes that are just a different settling altogether in modern times.

The earliest version of Xiyouji characters in modern times goes back to 1969 The Monkey in Hong Kong 孫悟空大鬧香港 and animated wise was 1980 Ding Ding (Tintin?) Fights Sun Wukong 丁丁战猴王

Of course he is going to swing his arms back and forth as he holds his granddaughter's hands, happily walking with her in the moment. It was always fun to spend time with her — even small things like some shopping. He did need to pick up a few things for the New Years celebration after all PLUS he didn't mind spoiling her to some extra presents even after Christmas.

Whatever she wanted right now, he'd get it for her. Humming away as they walked along the various shops that lined the streets.

There is a sad attempt by the sage to keep the bottle he had been nursing on. A pathetic noise emitted before he is reprieved of his liquor by his granddaughter. Managing to peer up from where his head is nestled against the cushions to give a mild glare — miffed to have his comfort taken away from him when he needed it.

Deep down, he knew she was doing this for his own good. He'd hate himself later for having sunk into another mood and leaving his beloved Xiaomin to look after him. It wasn't her duty to care for him nor should she ever have had to see him in such a state — not that she hadn't in the past. Ugh, she deserved so much better than this old drunk wallowing on his couch and hiding from the world. Why couldn't he just get his act together?! He was suppose to look after and care for her NOT the reverse.

Curling into a tight ball as his mood slipped further and further into the familiar abyss. Tempted to have one of his monkeys swipe another bottle from his bar for him — no no no, he can't. He's disappointed his sweet girl enough for one day. He's disappointed her enough to last a lifetime and beyond.

"I'm...sorry..."

He does his best to not let his words slur together. A feat when he was in one of his drunk stupors. Reaching to snag Xiaomin's wrist when she ventures close again to the area — no doubt to clean up any empty bottles littered on his table. A silent plea to stay, just stay close. Please. Her presence settling a small ache.

"...I'm sorry...小桃子."

Hatari 2024

(sequel to "Patches' Nightmare")

Garfield, Kissy, Nugget, Patches, and Peter greeted me as Kurt ushered me away from Queen Megen Ace, King Bruce Ace's wife, not the Queen Megen that was going to appear in the future and take over the catering operation. Garfield, Patches, and Kissy meowed a few times. Nugget barked several times.

"What the fuck do these cats want?!" King Dark Chocolate Blueberry Gummy Bear screamed. "What does that dog want?!"

"God only knows-" Lindsay started to say.

Someone called King Dark Chocolate Blueberry Gummy Bear's number. He picked up the phone. "Hello?!"

"Is this King Simmons?" some goofy man asked slowly. He sounded like a country version of Scooby Doo.

"No. You have the wrong number," King Dark Chocolate Blueberry Gummy Bear said flatly as he stared straight ahead.

"Are you sure? I'm looking for KING SIMMONS," the country Scooby Doo repeated.

"Yes I'm sure! Get yo country ass off my fuckin' phone!" King Dark Chocolate Blueberry Gummy Bear shouted before he turned his phone into a chocolate bar. He ate that chocolate bar.

Garfield and Kissy meowed a few times. Nugget barked several times. Patches meowed a long meow.

"I fed them! I gave them water! I hosed their shit and piss off in a landfill! What the fuck do they want?! Vanille! Pet Garfield, please! He's meowing near me!" King Napoleon-covered Cherry Gummy Bear screamed.

I rubbed up against Garfield and said, "Quit! I'm busy!"

Peter bleated loudly. Nugget barked again.

"Happy Relationship Day, and Happy Fucking Birthday, Uncle Evan!" I screamed before I growled at him.

My Uncle Evan, a short man with a bald head, a gray goatie, gray eyes, and a pointy nose appeared with a huge pot of spaghetti and meatballs. "Thank you. I brought spaghetti and meatballs," he said in a pleasant voice.

"Oh sure! This gentleman gets a birthday on the same day as Relationship Day. Fuck it. I'm eating rice," Cody said as he walked toward us before he walked away from us backwards. He added turkey and gravy to his rice and ate again. Hot damn that dog was hungry.

"Did you bring chicken nuggets?" Nugget asked Uncle Evan.

"Yes, I brought chicken nuggets. I remembered to do that after I yelled at the yellow spoon that refused to go in the goddamn drawer for 20 fucking minutes," Uncle Evan said in a flat tone. "Fuck that shit. It can stay on the floor."

A clone of Uncle Evan walked like a robot and brought a 20"x12" pan of chicken nuggets to us.

Peter bleated before he trotted away and started eating many leaves from the trees. He was bleating between bites.

Elephants were making their own holiday commotion. They were arguing, stomping, drinking water, and eating.

John Wayne shot at them.

The elephants bellowed in unison one more time before they traveled together to another watering hole to continue to bitch.

"Ugh. The holidays are dramatic enough. We don't need the elephants to add to the drama that is Relationship Day and family gatherings," John Wayne commented. He reloaded his shotgun. "This shit is a fucking joke, bro."

A rhino ran at us and wanted more drama.

Nugget and Lindsay took the pan from the clone of Uncle Evan and ate the nuggets.

The rhino ran past Nugget and Lindsay.

"Sis, I'm sorry for causing you issues earlier. There was too much bullshit going on during the Christmas holidays," Nugget said.

"I forgive you," Lindsay said as she fed him a chicken nugget.

Patches meowed with joy.

"Hot dammit," John Wayne said as he shot at the rhino. "I can't get away from it. He's a big one. Take your time with him, Pockets!"

"Yes, Bwana. I'll be careful, Bwana," Pockets said as he chased the rhino around while doing a monkey walk. Pockets was a literal circus clown without the outfit, hair, and make-up.

The rhino chased Kurt around.

"You're supposed to chase HIM around," John Wayne said.

"Tell him that!" Kurt screamed as he climbed the same tree Peter was eating off of.

"Casa Camba!" Pockets screamed at the rhino.

"Casa Camba!"John Wayne also screamed at the rhino.

"RILEY!" I sang. "The Ace of Riddling," I added.

Riley the Ace of Riddling scarfed the remainder of the turkey and rice from the table before barking 28 times. Then, he went out of his way to exist elsewhere and eat chicken nuggets. Duke the Ace of Dodging barked 28 times and followed him before eating a huge turkey leg. Nugget continued to eat chicken nuggets.

"Crazy ass dogs," Peter said as he shook his head and bleated. "I wish Tug were here. He was normal."

Then we heard a familiar howl as a familiar basenji charged up near the tree where Kurt and Peter were located.

"TUG! You have returned!" Peter said with an excited bleat.

"Hello, Dad," Tug said as he wrapped his body around Peter's leg. "Happy Birthday, Uncle Evan!"

"Thanks, Tug! Would you like some spaghetti and meatballs and chicken nuggets?!" Uncle Evan asked.

"YEAH I WOULD!" Tug shouted as he raced over to my uncle.

Uncle Evan then poured the spaghetti and meatballs onto a plate, and the mountain of spaghetti and meatballs grew so high that it consumed all of us.

Nugget floated above the spaghetti and meatball mountain and spun in a circle in the sky. An angel played with Nugget's black curly tail, and Nugget spun around and chased the angel and his own tail. He barked repeatedly in the process of spinning. He spun so fast that the spaghetti and meatball mountain unraveled and opened a portal to the sixth dimension.

Earthbound Week 2 Update

Hello!

Anyone who's keeping up with this is sure to assume that this week must have been lots of work done. Sadly, it wasn't. Due to things like work, distractions, and trying to do one thing in the game that took forever, I didn't get much done. Enough stalling though, what did I finish?

I left off at Dungeon Man. As promised, I tried to leave to get some items I missed in Scaraba, but I wanted to try getting back inside first. Turns out, I can't. I think this is because you can only go into him at certain moments and if I leave him before I complete the dungeon, then I've soft-locked myself. There might be a way around this, but I reloaded my save.

Of course, I had to read all the signs.

I'm happy for his transition, but I'm also terrified. I'm getting elements of body horror.

After completing his dungeon, he walked with us around the desert. Nowhere else to go, we went South.

I had to go through him again, but it was easier the second time. I didn't expect I needed a submarine to get to The Deep Darkness, though, I thought it was just in the forest on the left.

After arriving, I teleported back to Scaraba to get a broken item and the Piggy Nose. Getting back on track in Deep Darkness, I stalked up on items, organized my inventory, and got the new Multi-Bottle Rocket. Feeling ready, I went into the swamp.

Imma be honest, I don't like the swamp. The slow movement combined with drowning in the deeper parts makes the whole thing annoying. I think if they removed the drowning aspect, that'd make this area a lot better.

Oh, and I found a few Magic Truffles. They were a bit hard to find; I wish the nose gave better directions.

Deeper in the swamp, I found the reincarnated Belch, Puke. I'm happy for his transition, but I don't like him so he's gonna die now. At first, I was worried because a Spy didn't reveal any weaknesses, but on my second or third turn, I used the Multi-Bottle Rocket. After that, Grape came back and finished him off with his new move!

It was a cool scene, but I feel like it'd be cooler if I didn't defeat him so easily with the rocket.

We won the Casey Bat, the strongest in the game, but with horrible accuracy. I did some research into other weapons so I can see what's worth keeping. I didn't equip this, I already miss enough. Instead, my endgame weapon for Straw is the Gutsy Bat, so I'll be looking out for that.

I healed up at the shy village, but they were too shy to help progress the plot, so I had to leave. I figured I'd just backtrack to Summers or something, but that's when Red Apple Kid called me. Mid conversation, he was kidnapped! He was last seen at Dr. Andonut's Lab, so I ran there!

Winters had new enemies, but it wasn't too bad. What was bad was that Tony was kidnapped too! With Bubble Monkey's help, we went across the lake. I had to take the long way because I forgot the Pencil Eraser. But once we got to the lab, we found that the doctor was kidnapped too! With the new Eraser Eraser, the only thing to do was go to Stonehedge.

Lots of dangerous and annoying enemies were in my way! It took me a bit to find my way to the Exit Mice, immediately leaving because I was Homesick, low on PP, and wanted to get better items.

After doing some research, I got a map to use as a reference so I could more easily get through the first maze. I also found out the Starmen Super had a rare chance of dropping Grape's only weapon, the Sword of the Kings. Since his attack had been lacking and it's literally his ONLY weapon, it seemed worth it to me.

This search is what took me so long.

The sword has a 1/128 (0.78%) chance of dropping. Bad, but I've had worse. I've even gotten a few of these rare drops from other enemies in the game already!

What made it harder were the Atomic Power Robots and Starmen. They both spawned in the same area as the Starman Super. The Atomic Power Robots explode upon defeat, making them annoying at best and terrifying at worst. To avoid them, I went up and down the long ladder or hid in the corner to reload the room's enemies.

The Starmen weren't as bad, but their overworld sprite looked the exact same as the Starmen Super, meaning I had to fight both before deciding if it was worth it.

Combined with the fact this was in the middle of a dungeon, it was very draining. I'd leave occasionally to heal up or reorganize my items. When I wanted a break, I'd go a bit deeper into the dungeon to get all the items. I couldn't defeat the boss though, as a walkthrough told me that when the boss is defeated, all the enemies disappear. This was my ONLY chance.

Yes, I used a walkthrough, only for the map and for tips on how to get the sword.

An extra punch in the face that happened during this was that I found a DIFFERENT 1/128 item! The Starmen have a chance of dropping the Brain Food Lunch. It's a great item, but it felt like the game was laughing at me.

In the end, I started using the switch's save state feature to RNG manipulate and save scum. I pinned a Starman Super into the corner and battled him over and over. This was much faster than the previous option of reloading the room to get a good enemy group, defeating them all, and then doing it all again. However, it still took me around 30 minutes of just this.

The walkthrough tells you you should have a team average of 55 before trying this dungeon. When I started, my team average was 52. By the time I finished this grind, our average was 75. Straw, my highest leveled member, was at 79.

After a break to eat some food and drink some water, I felt good enough to fight the boss. First, I had to walk through this room. It reminded me of Mt. Itoi from Mother 1, giving me the same disturbed feeling. Red Apple Kid, Tony, Dr. Andonuts, and Dr. Saturn...

The boss was easy, not just because of the sword and our high levels, but mainly due to the Multi-Bottle Rocket. It's a great item, but maybe they should have introduced it AFTER this boss.

With everyone saved, I talked to the crowd and got the Saturn Ribbon. I was just wanting to read some flavor text, but this was great! Due to its luck boost, I wanted this as Bana's endgame armor.

Red Apple Kid said he returned the book to the library in Onett. While I was in town, I visited Mom and bought the old house. I have so much money now!

The book was annoying to find. I got confused because of the guy who ran into the bathroom. I thought he was hoarding it or something. The masked guy told me it was on the bookshelves, but I checked before and couldn't find it. I even talked to the Hint Guy. I almost gave up but decided to do a comb-over of the bookshelves. At the very end, I finally found it!

The last thing I did was go back to Tenda Village and cure their shyness, getting some weird conversations, food, and a bag of Dragonite as a reward. Next up, I plan on getting some horns to trade.

I'm surprised how little I finished this week, but I'm glad I was able to find the Sword of the Kings. That was a pain and I hope I never have to do something like that again. Honestly, it's my most hated part of this game so far.

Aside from that, I'm loving this game! I can't wait to see what happens next week. See y'all down the road!
