Some of my favourite characters in skyrim, and why 馃懝
Balgruuf The Greater: i think this speaks for itself tbh, my favourite Jarl
Balimund: I don't actually know, kinda just looked at him and said "yes, he's the one." Or at least one of them anyway lmfao
Brynjolf: cocky thief with a *small amount* of issues, need i say more?
Captain Aldis: Self Explanatory. he's pretty, good personality, wants books, and lots of muscle? Yes please
Captain Gjalund Salt-Sage: idk he just smiled at my character once and it did things LMFAOOO
Captain Lonely-Gale: Father? Sorry, Father? Sorry-
Falk Firebeard: Steward whos probably a borderline alcoholic? Possibly involved in scandals? Pretty? Yes please
Glover Mallory: no.1 Smith, thief gone good, first I've found to sell Daedric stuff, what more can you want?
Halbarn Iron-Fur: personality is on point, easily lovable, one of my favourite smiths along side Glover
Idolaf Battle-Born: Dilf with an attitude, fuck yeah
Igmund: As with Balimund, I'm not even sure
Korir: if Siddgeir and Balgruuf had a child, he's them. Personality wise anyway, bit of a wanker tho
Kraldar: idk he's just there and he's sweet
Roggi Knot-Beard: Our favourite alcoholic, lovable character, ray of sunshine.
Rune: He's baby. Todd let me help him find out who his parents are i beg
Torbjorn Shatter-Shield: Dilf, I feel so bad tho oh my god, I killed Nilsine in Muiri's quest... never again. I don't need the bonus.
Ulfric Stormcloak: I can fix him

Made a faction for Skyrim based on the witch hunters from The Witcher and real witch hunters from the 1600s
So they are called The Witch Hunters of Skyrim aka The Witch Hunters (tho unlike Vigilants of Stendarr witch hunters that only hunt witches these witch hunters believe all magic users are witches) and they are made up of mostly Nords but there are other non Nordic humans in The Witch Hunters except for Bretons
The Witch Hunters were formed not too long after The Great Collapse of Winterhold they are a bunch of anti magic religious fanatics who worship Talos not only do they hunt mages but they also hunt any non human races as they believe them to be an abomination to Talos they also hunt Bretons due to them being half elf
They are obviously Stormcloak aligned and primarily operate in Stormcloak territory however they have been found in Imperial territory however they stay out of the cities
In Stormcloak territory they have free reign to detain any citizen they deem to be a magic user and publicly execute them in ways similar to the witch hunting methods of the 1600s
They however will not detain a jarl's court wizard without permission of said jarl but they do have schemes on attacking The College of Winterhold
Jarl Korir has given them full permission to take on The College however they have yet to do that as they know the gate will not open to them
The reason they have yet to detain Nelacar is because they think he is a Thalmor spy due to him being a high elf so they don't wanna take him out of the picture until Ulfric becomes High King so they don't tip off the Thalmor about him going missing they do not however know about Ancano
They also don't believe that Vaermina is the source of Dawnstar's nightmares and instead choose to believe that Erandur is using magic to plague Dawnstar with nightmares
Many NPCs in the base game are apart of The Witch Hunters such as Heimskr and some of the citizens (minus Benor as my HC of Benor is like how he is in Denizens of Morthal) of Morthal that don't trust the jarl or Falion and they believe Idgrod and her son to be practising dark arts but they know they can't attack them because they are in Imperial territory
They also forbid the use of any magical or enchanted items believing them to be evil
And they also believe any claims of Tiber Septim being a Breton is lies made up by The Aldmeri Dominion

Today on I Like Skyrim Characters Who Suck: Korir is a terrible jarl of the crappiest hold and I love him for that. Not unlike cosnach he just sucks so much. Every day he walks across the street to get a beer and then walks back and sits in his empty house. He stubs his toe and blames rhe mages. 10/10 wouldn鈥檛 change a thing

For the Meme, how about. . . .Jarl Korir of Winterhold?
First Impression: I thought he certainly had a very fancy chair for a guy ruling over a population that is only slightly larger than Riverwood's.
Impression Now: It...hasn't really changed. If you listen to his and Thaena's dialogue with other residents it becomes clear that despite the title of "Jarl" and getting to sit in the big fancy chair, he doesn't actually have much power in Winterhold. All he can do is gripe about Dagur making money renting rooms to people visiting the college. Thaena and Birna snipe at each other, and in one of these conversations Thaena says "Trying to keep from freezing to death, trying to keep food on the table." This makes me think that being Jarl of Winterhold only really has any sort of power when it comes to going to Moots - that is, power outside of Winterhold. Inside of it, there's really nothing.
Favorite Moment: This conversation... Korir: "Looks to be another cold day." Thaena: "Aren't they all?" Korir: "Not like this. Feels colder than usual. Bet it's those damned Mages." ...just sums everything up about Korir. If it snows (IN A PLACE CALLED WINTERHOLD) it's gotta be those rascally mages!
Idea for a Story: Since Korir moves into Brunwulf Free-Winter's house instead of the Palace of Kings if the Empire wins the civil war, I figure they MUST have some connection. I would love to see a story exploring that, and how they navigate their relationship with Korir being even more bitter but relying on an Empire-backed friend's generosity.
Unpopular Opinion: Despite how cartoonishly paranoid Jarl Korir seems about the mages...I think he's right about the College of Winterhold. Not completely right - the mages are obviously too disorganized and plotting against each other (academia is the same everywhere) to actively plot against Winterhold, or Korir personally, but really the College has a SHOCKING body count. Magic entities escape and wreak havoc in town, the college is hosting Thalmor, they go grave-robbing and bring back obviously dangerous artifacts (I can just imagine the hullaballoo marching the Eye of Magnus through town caused), entire cohorts of students just disappear...some wander off, some die horribly summoning the most blood-thirsty daedric pirate Tamriel has ever known and others turn themselves into giant balls of pure energy. And they've never fixed that bridge. The college, at this point, is an attractive nuisance at best, and a death trap for talented youth of Skyrim at worst.
Favorite Relationship: We never see them interact, but I just love that his court wizard, Malur Seloth, is a totally lazy scam artist collecting a paycheck to not be a mage. We stan a quiet quitting king and his oblivious boss.
Favorite Headcanon: These go with my unpopular opinion, that Jarl Korir is correct about the college - I think the Augur of Dunlain was responsible for the Great Collapse. The collapse occurred in 4E 22, 69 (nice) years before the events of Skyrim. Tolfdir and Colette will say that an experiment went wrong, and that it happened before their time. I think the magical forces required to turn someone into a ball of purse consciousness and energy would be enough to cause some landslides and once-in-a-century storms.

winters in winterhold are so lonely and dark and dreary鈥攆rozen seas shutting out visitors, sunlight shining for only a few hours a day鈥攖hat the conjuration students will inevitably start soliloquizing to skulls unless everyone works together to keep the most desolate hours busy. all the business of groundskeeping and cooking and maintaining the walls that the students and masters alike hate to pitch in on for most of the year becomes a welcome distraction from cackling alone with increasing derangement over one's books in one's lonely study. on holidays the students are encouraged (during kraldar's time as jarl...korir would have frothed at the mouth at this) to go wassailing in the village. the good-natured ones fill the air with magelights as they stamp along until it looks as though all the stars have come down to visit

Sometimes I find myself thinking "what if some of my ocs weren't Dragonborn/Hero of Kvatch?" and admittedly I do want to write that for some of them...
