There's an interesting parallel I've noticed about Rebecca and Kyros's story with Bonney and Kuma's

Besides the fact we have strong buff guys with curly black hair who love their pink haired daughters to death and would be willing to sell their own liver to give them the best life (do I hate this one piece "trope"? Hell no. Give me more good papas !),

Both fathers became non human, were in direct contact with royals and have had bad rep attached to them as well as a criminal record

Both daughters lost their mothers really really young and learned to fight early in their life

Both are about poor families who didn't have much beyond each other

Both stories are about fatherhood when the father in question left too soon

Both are about daughters remembering their father to some extent

Rebecca and Kyros's present is probably the perfect ending Bonney would've wished for her and her father. The ending of her nearly 3 years long quest that she now knows she can never obtain

Yeah you're definitely right, but the biggest difference is Bonney and Kuma aren't related by blood. I think that adds and means a lot. It doesn't detract from the bond between Kyros and Rebecca ofc, and it is so touching to see these dads do everything in their power to keep their daughters safe 😭

i was thinking about rebecca's character because i'm disagree with kyros's take about her and weapons. i see her as a fighter. a fighter for her life, her happiness, her kingdom and ofc her dad. so i really wanted to see her as gladiator again: in normal armor, holding a sword like it's a continue of her arm. to see her as a part of good old dress rosa corrida coliseum where fightings weren't bloody murderous shows but the symbol of courage, braveness and strength. my girl deserves so much better than a boring stereotypical "women's" life

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Kyros stepped out of his car to let you slide in the backseat. He was a striking, tall man with a kind face and gorgeous black locks. You weren’t expecting to be driven by a chauffeur but that was apparently one of the perks from being honorably discharged from the army, according to him.

While the two of you sat in the car comfortably,  Lieutenant Colonel – no he insists you call him Kyros, please – pulls out the neatly folded pamphlet from the matchmaking medium.

“I have to be honest with you, ______. I did not sign up for this matchmaking event. My daughter signed me up. But please, do not take it the wrong way. I am excited to be here, I just have not dated in a very long time and I’m not sure I know how to do it anymore.”

His voice had a foreign accent you couldn’t quite place but it suited him well. Everything about his appearance suited him. The way his suit accentuated all his muscled mass, the way his hair was pulled back and not trying to hide the scar on his face, everything about the way he presented himself was confident and impressive to say the least.

So, it shocked you to hear how…insecure he sounded.

He held his hands up in surrender, “Wait I do not think that came out right. Argh, I’m sorry I think I am already, how do you say, blowing it up.”

You giggle, cautiously reaching a hand to his arm. He tensed a little.

“Its ok Kyros. I haven’t been on a date in a while either.”

He looked you over, analyzing your face. He let a smile form on his face and his body relaxed. “My daughter would say I am a hot mess right now.”

That made you laugh and he took the opportunity to quickly glance at pamphlet, the car finally humming to life as the driver plugged in the GPS coordinates. Kyros blushed, eyes narrowing as he read over the ice breaker topics. You noticed some sweat droplets forming on his temple.

“Tell me about yourself Kyros. You’re retired from the army with impressive honors and you have a daughter old enough to sign you up for blind dating. But what makes you Kyros the man?”

“______, that’s…” he sighed, “That’s a bit of a long story.”

It was but you hung on to his every word. His unfortunate and rough background, his criminal record, how he turned himself around and joined the army, finding and losing his first love, and the life of a single dad. By the time he finished speaking, the car had pulled up to the restaurant.

“Ah, I’m sorry I spent all that time talking about me,” he nervously massaged his neck.

“The date technically hasn’t started so don’t worry, I won’t hold it against you,” you smile warmly.

Kyros felt relieved by that. Truth was, he did see his daughter sign him up for the blind date but he became so flustered at the gesture that he pretended he never noticed. So far you hadn’t been turned off by his anxiety, his disability nor the fact that he had a teenage daughter. He felt like those would surely be deal breakers for most people; not you it seems and that gave him a spark of hope.

Being the gentleman he is, he held the door open for you and pulled out your seat for you. You were not used to someone being this well-mannered. Could your era of dating fuck boys finally be at an end?!

Drinks and food were shared between you as your night continued. You told him more about yourself: your crazy work schedule from the job you were very passionate about, your family, your hobbies, what you were looking for in a relationship.

Kyros drank his mimosa and listened politely to you. He appreciated how lively you were talking about your passions and your family. Kyros valued family above all else. He appreciated that your principles lined up and he was pretty certain you were feeling the same way. But he had to know…

“_____, I know we’ve briefly talked about my daughter and I don’t want to keep bringing her up while we enjoy our night getting to know each other. I find that I am quite enjoying your company. A lot. And I just need to know now that you do not have any reservations about it. My daughter is my life and one of my deal breakers is someone who could not accept Rebecca because she is a reminder of my last marriage. So please, tell me now before I start to fall for you – will that be an issue for you?” his gaze was firm, analytic.

You had to suppress any noises for fear of giving the wrong impression.

“Of course not, Kyros. If it was, I would have stepped out of the car the second you said you didn’t sign up for the event.”

Kyros eyes nearly bugged out of his face. He forgot he did mention it while the car was still parked in front of your home. You had the free pass to exit right then and there and you did not take it.

“Right,” his face relaxed. “Good to know.”

And that was the last wave of tension that rolled off his shoulders. The rest of your night was full of excitement and fun. Kyros didn’t let completely loose, still maintaining his decorum as a highly decorated officer of course. That did not however, stop him from borderline hogging the karaoke machine.

There was no line or official sign-up sheet, so Kyros took that as permission to sing his heart out. Finding covers by artists you mentioned you enjoyed, you were extremely pleased to hear that Kyros was a PHENOMENAL singer. Like he could go on The Voice and probably win he was that good.

You cheered him on and that inspired him to serenade with the final song of the evening. It was the best rendition of Santana’s Smooth you’d ever heard in your life. That was the moment you felt something blossom in your chest, flush reaching your cheeks and ears, clapping with the audience who stood to applause him.

Kyros paid the bill and walked you out with his arm holding yours. As he opened the car door he looked at you with a charismatic smile, one that nearly made you swoon.

“If you would allow me, I would like to take you on another date. Perhaps to the local national park trail and enjoy a picnic?”

You hoped the smile on your face could match even a fraction of your delight. “I would love a second date.” The happiness in his smile reflected the shine in his eyes as he reached down and pressed a kiss to your temple.

“I am glad we were matched tonight, ______.”

Hi there @n-eela and thanks for the ask you're lovely as always! Also sorry I took so long to answer but I am slow OEVDLDHEO-

Favorite character: BABY BASTARD SAVAGE SUNSHINE BOY LUFFY I LITERALLY CRY OUT OF LOVE FOR HIM EVERYDAY. And more seriously this guy saved my life and taught me to be a better version of myself. I simply adore him. I just really enjoy how he is so simple yet so complex? He is the analogy of Freedom itself and while One Piece has it fair shair of tragic flashbacks the ASL one is by far the one who made me the most depressed.

Least Favorite character: Hmmm hard one....I think the characters i don't like are characters that the writer intended to make the readers dislike anyway soooo I really haven't gotten an answer. Hmm let's say Perospero, Trebol. These guy annoys the shit out of me but again so does OroSHIT for example.

Character I find most attractive: pre time skip Robin can walk on me and I had thank her.

Character I would marry: Lol Luffy may be my husbando but I wouldn't marry him. I think he had rather live free, traveling the world with his friends and tbh so do I :D

Character I would be best friends with: I think me and Robin might have a lot to talk since we share lots of interests! But since I am more of a louder type I might join the Luffy, Ussop and Chopper trio too!

A random thought: Luffy never went to Ace's funeral since he was still in coma. Do what you want with this information.

An unpopular opinion: I can't believe some people still think like this but the next one I hear saying " Girls in One Piece are useless because they don't FiGhT" is gonna have the pleasure to taste my fist.

My canon OTP: Toki and Oden again! Also Kyros and Scarlett are kinda sweet !

Non-canon OTP: hmmmm Oda still didn't make this official I mean so I guess I am obliged to consider NamiVivi non canon right😔 !?

Most badass character: hey, guys never forget that Brook still kept his joy even after 50 years of loneliness and emptiness okay !?

(Also Sanji has his reallyyy cool moments and I love a moss head with his swords)

Pairing I am not a fan of: AceLu or SaboLuffy because I literally can't view them as anything else than brothers. Also Luffy×Hancock, Zoro×Robin and Nami×Sanji. I dunno it really doesn't do it for me.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I feel Tashigi's development post-time skip could have been handled way wayyy better. I loved how through what happened in Alabasta she begins to have a more nuanced take on justice compared to what her mentality was back in Loguetown and wished she and Zoro would have continued in that sort of mini rivalry of theirs. It was funny while it lasted.

Also Sanji's creepy perverted side doesn't do it for me and the nosebleed joke ain't even that funny anymore. It doesn't annoy me to the point I would actually deslike him, because my bby cook has been one of my faves since day 1 but really I think that him continuing to be more chivalrous and gentleman instead of chasing ladies would have been more interesting.

Also I think Toki could have had more spotlight in the flashback instead of kinda just being "Oden's wife" but I feel that Oda has something more prepared for her. Maybe at the end of Wano of for the ancient kingdom flashback we'll see.

Favourite friendship: (ASL brothers is a given so-) THE STRAWHATS! They are all so unique and so caring for each other and have built special relationships between all of them AND THEY ARE ALL MY BABIES AND I ADORE THEM TO NO END. I love the trope of "traumatized people meet and become family" so yeah I simply love these dorky criminals.

     They’ve spent the day in bed. Kyr, Cerberus and Dash have, anyway. Koshi’s off somewhere or other and, as Kyr has insisted all day, it only feels the best when it’s all four of them together. He bemoaned the Koshi-sized gap in their cuddle pile ‘til the other two kissed him quiet.      Now, all three of them perk up at the sound of the door opening. Koshiro’s barely stepped into the apartment before his three boyfriends are yanking him onto the bed, tangling together ‘til there’s little indication of which limbs belong to whom anymore. There’s just warmth and welcoming laughter and Dash’s faint complaints that he’s getting squashed.      Eventually, Dash wriggles out ( never one for too much affection, that boy ) and seats himself atop Koshi’s hips, leaning down to thread fingers through his hair and bestow a brief kiss on his lips. Gentle, because he’s learning to be a lover and not just a fuck. He lingers for just a second, aware of his boyfriends grinning dopily at how soft he’s gotten, and then he slips away, muttering that he’ll go make his stupid boyfriends some tea or something.     “Missed you,” Kyr informs Koshi, having nestled against his side to press idle kisses against his temple. He grazes his lips lower, mapping the line of his lover’s jaw, smiling against it. Cerberus seems content to watch, his usually-serious expression soft and intimate. Eventually, he takes Koshi’s hand and kisses his palm, then his wrist. Kyr wiggles his own hand for kisses, which are playfully given. There’s a contented sigh.     When Dash returns it’s with pizza instead of tea, but nobody questions it. He sidles to a place at the edge of the bed, permits his various lovers to drape themselves close to him, and slowly, slowly, relaxes.     “Now it feels right,” says Kyr softly.

She would be a patron of judges, attorneys and those looking to upheld the law. She would be firm in her seeking of stability and order, and would demand her followers to follow suit. She’d be associated with the colours gold and black and often dressed in intricate dresses with a crown on her head. She would have beautiful temples accross the world where people would go to worship her and ask for assistance and an order of priests that would help people resolve issues of judicial manner between each other. The written texts containing her teachings would also have a complex system of laws and rules she would expect her followers to adhere to.

11. What causes them to fight?

they honestly rarely fight, they usually have a lot of respect for each other & are on the same page with most things. they fought however during the time she slowly became more powerful and started to disregard and question kyros (& we know how our dear tuna is with kyros). once he pledged himself to ophelia however, their main topic for fights is ophelia’s inability to stay out of battle and on top of that her brutality and recklessness during those moments. when you watch her it sometimes seems like as if she is waiting for somebody to take her down and tunon really isn’t about that at all!!

15. What are traits they dislike in one another?

ophelia is either a stoic cold leader or a reckless hotheaded murder machine. she is unpredictible & you cannot control her. ofc tunon really doesn’t want to do that anymore, but he believes in the future she wants to build and worries, u know. he dislikes her hotheaded side, even if it doesn’t often come out infront of him.ophelia never really disliked anything about him.. damn? lmao but there is this contradicting thing with her: they are both very private people in public, so she is glad for that, but something in her wishes that he would be a bit more… risqué, sometimes? lol

17. What senses (sights, smells, feelings, etc). remind them of each other?

mhhm sappy but for ophelia its safety? she was in the fighting pits for the majority of her life and honestly didn’t knew how safety feels like until she was free & tunon made her a fadebinder. this is also why she appreciates him so much and a reason why she grew to love him later on.for tunon it’s the soft feeling of her hands? he didn’t let anyone touch him for decades… now he catches himself thinking about them sometimes.

21. How have they changed each other for the better/for the worse?

ophelia unpredictability was much worse when she first got recruited until now. she became calmer, smarter and more collected under his guidance. so it was definitely for the better.tunon became more open about himself, actually answering personal questions instead of dodging them? it might be because of her rank now, but also because he trusts her. :3

Okay I accidentally stayed up till 3 am but I wanna write down some thoughts about.my Fatebinder cause I know I'll forget by the morning

He's obviously ambitious but even now he doesn't seriously think he could challenge Kyros, even though other people seem to think he'sa threat. His powers are a literal shadow of her's, his magic uses sigils empowered by past Archons, he knows nothing about the Spires...It's foolish to even think about if he can't even create something of his own.

On that note, he thinks it's wild that people think he outsmarted Kyros by letting what's her face abdicate her baby's throne. He's pretty certain that Kyros purposely phrased the Edicts to allow for wiggle room.

Idk exactly how his body might change as his power grows but it would for sure have something to do with fire. He proclaimed the Edict of Fire, uses mostly fire magic, his banner is a phoenix - it's his thing.

He didn't want to push his luck and try to implicate both Ash and Nerat in court, but it was easy to choose to go after Nerat first. Anius has a lot more respect for Narat and the Chorus than the Disfavored, so ofc he needs to get rid of the bigger threat asap.

At one point Nerat says smth like, he would have preferred you in red, and Anius would have ended up in the Chorus if the Court hadn't handpicked him first, so now I can't help but wonder about that au. I might have to replay and do a Chorus run at least.
