I miss there being clocks everywhere, outside, especially in cities, especially analog.
"But everyone has a cell phone! We don't need buildings to have clocks!"
And to that I say bullSHIT. What if my phone died? What if it's cold and I don't want to take out my phone? What if I left it at home? Or don't own one? Or just wanted to go without looking at it? What if I'm holding a child's hand and they ask me what time it is and I want to use it as a teachable moment to explain how the hands of a clock work and what the numbers mean? What if I just miss the aesthetic of cities coated in time? Bring back public outside clocks, you cowards.

The works of graphic artist, M.C. Escher (1898-1972) became enormously popular during the late 1960s. Many of his creations were printed as posters and given the Psychedelic treatment with added florescent paints that would glow under black lights. Like Lovecraft, Escher explored architectural themes that were impossible by the known laws of physics. Lovecraft's description of Cthulhu's cosmic city brings Escher to mind. Though Escher would resemble Lovecraft's biographer, L. Sprague deCamp, in his later years, there are certainly some similar aspects in his facial features here to H. P. Lovecraft. Lovecraft, however, would never be seen wearing a beard! (Exhibit 288)
