deeply refreshing to see someone critical of Swift who also like, genuinely likes her. Like i'm neutral to positive on her, but the online discourse has been absolutely rancid. flipping between "Taylor Swift has never done anything wrong ever and she's a fucking genius" and "Taylor Swift is the worst lyricist of all time and also a bad person" is exhausting, so thank you for like. nuance or something lmao

not to make it serious for a sec but i genuinely think that being able to like things that are bad is really important. like I think that it's an important skill to be able to look at something and see what you personally enjoy about it and then take a step back and acknowledge that objectively it's flawed. and to also be able to acknowledge that liking something isn't necessarily an identity or a moral stance. and i think that fandom space in general could really benefit from more people taking the time to learn how to do that. it's okay to like things that are bad

we all know that taylor’s commitment to energetically dancing at award shows is amazing for many reasons from being incredibly fun to watch as well as being a compliment/courtesy to the artists (and how she has discussed that she always dances and sings at award shows because she finds it miserable to be the person performing at such events where the crowd is not hype at all etc etc) but we also kind of don’t spend enough time on the way she also says she’s just there to have fun and doesn’t see why she would waste a night of amazing performances just sitting down and pretending to be bored to look cool because i also feel like this goes to another level when you consider that taylor actually very rarely gets to see live music from an audience sort of setting and doesn’t really have the opportunity to go see her favorite musicians in concert. so getting to dance and sing to full out live performances at award shows is really the closest she can ever have to that

SORRY to be a hater again but i was a fan for over a decade im giving myself a treat. but like. the argument that everyone expects folklore/evermore levels of writing from every subsequent album and THAT’S why people are disappointed is sooooo stupid and oblivious. like you can write fun pop music or moody quiet pop or WHATEVER and it doesn’t have to be perfect prose it doesn’t have to have groundbreaking poetry for lyrics but for the love of god why do you sound like a tumblr post from 2014

Taylor Swift needs to stop with all these different editions of the same album but with different bonus tracks. It's just rude and greedy. I will buy one cd per album and it sucks that I would have to buy like a million exclusive versions just to have a physical copy of every song (*glares at Midnights concert exclusive cd that also isnt a complete version of the album but still is the only physical edition of certain songs and also completely impossible to buy*)

i’m really not liking the midnightsification of 1989 tv

like for me (and from what i thought taylor said) the main goal for the taylor’s versions was to own her own music but not necessarily profit

midnights was a whole new album so i completely understand why she went so hard on the vinyl variations for more sales and to go towards records

but the taylor’s versions weren’t really supposed to be that, like having songs exclusively on vinyl/cd to push sales especially for 1989 tv doesn’t really sit right with me because that wasn’t supposed to be the point :/

i mean i do not personally relate to sweet nothing being about mothers in general like....at all lol. my mother uses any and every vulnerability of mine against me eventually so i cant super relate to the softness and comfort of having a mom to run home to. but its just so andrea swift it makes me wanna die
