"June, you've been talking about your encounter with Chilly for the past 15 minutes. Why don't you tell us about your date with Leah's cousin? How did that go?" Vittoria asked. 

"Oh, it was ok."

"Are you meeting again?"

"He's coming to Saturday's game and then we are going out for dinner. I just hope Chilwell isn't at that game, I don't want him to ruin the day again and… why are you laughing?" she said, looking from Vittoria to Lauren.

"Because you are back to talking about Chilly. You had a nice date with a nice guy, yet all you can talk about is the guy who supposedly is obsessed with you."

"He is obsessed with me, Lauren. Not supposedly."

"And don't you think that maybe you also are a bit obsessed with him?"

"Me?"

"Yes, you, June. You can't stop talking about him."

"Because he… he… urgh."

"Yes, he urgh" Lauren laughed. "Anyway, changing the topic. You guys are coming to Reece's birthday party."

"I'm not."

"June, it wasn't a question, it was an order. Besides, it's a costume party, it'll be fun."

"We could go dressed as the Power Puff Girls!"

"No" June and Lauren said at the same time.

"Boring" Vittoria replied, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I'm dressing as Lara Croft."

"Oh, cool. I'm thinking about choosing something princessy like. What about you, June?" Vittoria asked her.

"I already told you, I'm not going."

"It's gonna be a big party, you won't cross paths with Mason if that's what worries you."

"I wasn't thinking about him."

"She was thinking about the man she definitely isn't obsessed with" Vittoria giggled.

"I'm not obsessed with him!" June protested.

"Of course not, honey."

"If we stop saying it will you come to the party? Please, please, please. Do it for Reece" Lauren pouted.

"Do you promise you will stop saying I'm obsessed with Chilwell?"

"I promise. Vittoria?"

"Yeah, I promise" she said, rolling her eyes.

"Then I guess I'll attend the party" June sighed.

"Yay!" Lauren said, hugging her. 

"But only because I like Reece and I know he'll want me there."

"Only because of Reece."

"Thank you very much for coming, June. It means a lot."

"You're very welcome. And again, happy birthday."

"Thank you" Reece smiled. "Oh, I must go say goodbye to those guys. See you soon, ok?"

"See you soon" she replied before leaving his apartment. Outside it was as packed as inside, but it looked like no one else was leaving. When she walked into the lift, it was just her and another guy. 

"Going down?" he asked.

"Yep" she said while the doors closed, busy texting Lauren to tell her that she was going home. She had asked Reece to tell her, but he would definitely forget about it.

"Maxwell? Is that you?"

"Chilwell?" she said as she turned to look at the guy standing next to her. "What the fuck?"

"I could say the same thing. Where is your Julius Caesar, Cleopatra?"

"There is no Julius Caesar."

"That was fast" he chuckled. "But good for him. He realised how annoying you are and left before it was too late."

"Ha ha ha" she replied, rolling her eyes. "Where is your Sandy?"

"Making out with Spiderman."

"Your date is making out with one of your best friends?" June laughed. 

"It wasn't Mason. There was another guy dressed as Spiderman."

"I see… You don't look too gutted about it."

"Meh" he shrugged. "You don't look too gutted about Leah's cousin either."

"He couldn't come, he has to work tomorrow."

"Yes, of course" Ben smiled.

"He does, he is a teacher."

"I believe you, Maxwell. No need to explain anything" he said, still smiling.

"Whatever" she replied, crossing her arms over her chest. Though if she had known what was going to happen, she would have not done it.

The moment she did, the lift suddenly stopped, making her lose her balance and land on Ben's arms.

"Are you ok?" he asked.

"Yes, yes. Thank you" she said, quickly leaving his embrace. "What happened?"

"The lift stopped."

"No way, really?" June said, rolling her eyes. "I meant if it was you or if it was the lift on its own."

"I didn't touch anything."

"Great. So we are stuck inside a lift."

"Looks like it. Let me call for help" Ben said, pressing the emergency button. "No one is answering. That's odd."

"Let me call Reece" she offered. "Fuck."

"What is it?"

"There is no signal" she said, starting to feel her heart beating too fast.

"I'll keep calling the emergency button. There should be someone on the other side and… Maxwell, are you ok? You have gone so pale… Come, sit down" Ben said, helping her. "Better?"

"No" she said, taking deep breaths. "I feel so hot."

"Well, you aren't wearing too many clothes, I don't think we can do much about that" he chuckled. "Wait, June… Are you afraid of getting stuck inside a lift?"

"Yes" she whispered.

"Oh, ok. Ok" he said, sitting down next to her. "What can I do to help?"

"Talk."

"Talk?"

"Yes, talk. About whatever you want, but just talk. That way I won't think about where I am or what is going on."

"Ok. What about your performance in yesterday's game?" 

"Anything but football" she said, giving him a murderous look.

"Anything but football. Got it. I… umm…"

"Why the guy from Grease."

"What?"

"Why did you choose to get dressed as the guy from Grease? Isn't that too… basic?" June asked.

"Meghan had always dreamt about dressing as Sandy at the end of the movie, so" Ben shrugged.

"But then she changed Danny Zuko for Peter Parker" she laughed.

"Yeah, she did" he chuckled. 

"I can't remember the last time I saw you with the slick hair" June said, resting her head on the lift's wall and looking at Ben.

"I hadn't worn my hair like this since… you know" he sighed, also resting his head against the wall. 

"Bad memories."

"Yeah. When I did it earlier it felt so weird... It was like traveling back in time."

"If someone told me right now I couldn't play football anymore, I don't know what I would do, to be honest."

"Kill that someone, probably" Ben laughed.

"Yeah… it's very likely" she smiled. "I'm sorry."

"About what?"

"About what happened."

"It's in the past, don't worry. But thank you" he smiled back. 

That probably was the first time June had seen him properly smile at her. He wasn't teasing her or making fun of her, it was an honest smile. And she liked it. She liked it very much. She liked the way his eyes wrinkled, the way his upper lip curled. He had one of the most beautiful smiles she had ever seen. 

"Are you feeling better?" he asked, bringing her back to the real world.

"I don't feel as hot, so that's something. Thank you."

"Look at us, saying thank you to each other" he laughed.

"Don't get used to it, Chilwell."

"You are the one who should not get used to it, Maxwell. Once those doors open, my facts will come back" he said with a teasing smile.

"Your wrong facts, you mean."

"They are not wrong" he said, slowly leaning forward.

"They are wrong. Very wrong" June said, also moving towards him. 

"Meh meh meh" he whispered, his face now way too close to hers.

"Idiot" she whispered back, her nose brushing against his.

"Hello? Is anyone there? Hello?"

"Holy shit!" June yelled, jumping and hitting her head against the wall. "Fuck."

"Are you ok?" Ben asked her.

"Yes, yes. Who is that?"

"Hello?" the voice said again. "Is anyone in there?"

"The emergency button" Ben said, quickly getting up. "Hello? We are stuck inside the lift."

"Oh, finally. I thought it had just stopped and there was no one inside. Are you alright?"

"We are, but we would like to get out of here the sooner the better."

"Give me a couple of minutes and you'll be free. Sorry for making you wait."

"It's ok" Ben said, looking down at June. But she wasn't listening, her mind busy repeating over and over again what had just happened.

She had almost kissed Ben fucking Chilwell.

Can we see Julius meeting his future wife? I think she was Ren and Leah's daughter?

Julius hadn't been to a lot of weddings, despite the fact that his family was massive.

Soyeon was the first to get married, although her relationship with Taeil wasn't something anyone was surprised about. They'd been best friends since they were children and maintained that relationship, now getting married.

While he was happy for his sister, Julius wasn't an overly social person. Sulli was the social butterfly, the same as her father and brothers, moving between the different crowds and chatting up a storm.

Julius stood near the bar, holding a drink.

"So," Minhyuk grinned as he approached the blonde, the tall brown haired male all too similar to his father in looks, "My sister,"

"You have three sisters," Julius stated bluntly.

Minhyuk just laughed, slipping his arm around Julius' shoulder, "I mean Sulli, you two are inseparable, should we be expecting this from you two next?"

Disgust twisted onto Julius' features as he shrugged off Minhyuk's arm, "You clearly don't know your sister well enough,"

Julius walked away from the man, shaking his head. The open balconies of this mansion offered some sort of peace of quiet, the night sky illuminated by the massive moon. He didn't know how much their father had splurged on this wedding, despite the fact that Soyeon was quite well off herself.

His father had said it was his position as the father to pay for the wedding and he did just that.

Julius sipped his drink, looking up and furrowing his brows together. He stuck out in the crowd, his blonde hair like his mother's in the crowd of dark hair made him easy to find. But there was another head of blonde hair sitting on one of the outdoor couches on the balcony, the woman looking over the garden's of this place.

He slowly stepped forward, curious as to who this person was. Her hair was too nice to be dyed, Julius remembered that burnt orange color that Alex's hair become one summer when he tried to dye it blonde. This woman turned her head, eyes going wide as she stared at him in shock for a moment.

She had a round face, her eyes almond shaped but a warm brown color. Her blonde hair was neatly flowing over her shoulders and back, little freckles dusted on her nose.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to-" Julius mumbled before he stopped, noticing the hearing aids in her ears.

Julius fumbled with his hands for a moment, his sign language rusty from the few moments he'd interacted with the youngest Choi child. This woman giggled, her nose scrunching slightly before she typed on her phone.

"I'm not great at Korean sign language," She typed in English.

"Ah," Julius pulled out his own phone, typing on it, "I only know bits and pieces from Chae,"

The woman nodded, "Chae and I usually talk in ASL,"

"I don't know any ASL, just Korean Sign Language," Julius typed on his phone as he sat down, "I'm Julius, Soyeon's brother,"

"Annalise, Soyeon's cousin," She smiled as she showed the phone.

"I didn't know Ozlo had a daughter," Julius typed.

"My mom is Ozlo and Hayoon's cousin," Annalise giggled as she typed, "Ren and Leah?"

Julius nodded, smiling, "I've met Leah before, I've never seen you before though,"

"My dad's a bit protective, we usually stayed in Japan," Annalise explained as she typed, "Natural blonde?"

Snickering, Julius laughed, "Been blonde since the day I was born,"

"I guess the Asian genetics didn't win this time," Annalise laughed.

Julius couldn't help but smile, shifting closer to Annalise. She smiled back at him, leaning closer.

I don’t know if I mentioned it, but I’ve set myself a goal to read 52 books this year. A book a week would be ideal, but some books are going to take longer and some won’t so I’m going to read them at my pace and enjoy them (hopefully) as I go. 1992. Not Safe, and So Sorry.

Donning a Julius Caesar haircut, courtesy of yet another bubblegum incident, Kelso is hastily wrapped in a bedsheet. Hastily kept together by a singular safety pin.

Kelso haughtily smoothes out his makeshift toga. "Damn. It's called a safety pin for a reason, Brooke."

But his wife, clad in a Rockford Peach costume, is far from receptive. "I don't think your costume is appropriate for a kids' Halloween party."

All the while, their troublesome teen dramatically sighs, with her mother's wits and her father's unfortunate bravado.

Without even a vague semblance of a costume, Betsy is seemingly too old for childish games. "I mean, Leah is wearing nothing but Pull-Ups and a witch hat."

Kelso smiles, as if his daughter has somehow proved his point. "Thank you, Bets...."

However, Kelso is suddenly interrupted by Donna's persistent coaxing, as Leah flashes James's plastic sword.

The other Rockford Peach throws a theoretical ball right down center plate. "C'mon, Lee-Lee. Put on your costume."

James is on the sidelines, a knight without a sword or a country, as Leah's terrible twos undoubtedly take center stage.

"No!"

"Some sweatpants?" Eric, a Jedi knight, desperately pleads.

But the tiny redhead is adamant. "NO!"

Reeling the jester back in, Brooke sighs. "I don't think that's a compliment, Michael."

Instead, the jester is overwhelmingly distracted, as he summons the stubborn tot over.

"Your mommy had trouble keeping her pants on when she was little."

"Weally?" Leah looks at Donna, if only for a mere second, before lightning suddenly strikes in her blue-green eyes. With a stellar idea firmly in her mind, Leah yanks off Kelso's toga, sending the safety pin flying through the air.

The safety pin collides with the tan carpet, sticking out like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and Leah smiles. "You look like me."

Betsy chuckles, and Brooke feebly tries to hold a similar sentiment in, but to no avail.

Kelso pouts, refusing to heed to the tiny witch. "But I don't have a witch hat."

Leah stubbornly holds the hat to her head with one hand, and brandishes the plastic sword with the other. "My hat."

Racing past the tighty-whitey clad Kelso, colliding with his right side with particular gusto, Kelso collapses under the coffee table.

Touting the typical moniker, writhing in pain, he dramatically clutches his face. "Ow, my eye!"

Brooke is still chuckling, as she brings her wayward husband to his feet. "Et tu, Brute?"

But Kelso is confused, as Betsy and all of the adults laugh at his notable expense. "I don't get it."

In turn, Betsy vaguely clarifies. "It's a super good burn."

"Oh."

10th Anniversary Show: Thunderpussy Featuring Seattle Symphony on 5/10!

Welcome back, Blawgers! Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the 10th anniversary concert of the local Seattle-based band Thunderpussy. The event was a spectacular fusion of rock and classical music, featuring the Seattle Symphony conducted by Sarah Hicks and a special guest performance by local artist Britney Davis, who contributed her vocals and piano skills.

Thunderpussy, an all-woman classic rock band, consists of four talented members: Molly Sides (lead vocals), Whitney Petty (guitar), Leah Julius (electric bass), and Lindsey Elias (drums). Endorsed by Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, Thunderpussy delivers a unique blend of eccentric classic rock, reminiscent of the 70s music scene for the people of Seattle.

The performance lasted nearly two hours, with a twenty-minute intermission between sets. Throughout the concert, the band dazzled the audience with four stunning outfit changes, ranging from bright red feathery cloaks to shimmery silver dresses. Lead singer Molly Sides and the rest of the band showcased their creative flair not only through their music but also through their vibrant attire.

Not only was the performance dedicated to their 10 years as a band, but it was also the release of their next studio album “West.” With the Symphony and Britney Davis's support, Thunderpussy performed every song from the new album, along with some of their classic hits that have defined their journey over the past decade. Between songs, Molly Sides expressed heartfelt gratitude to the fans, whom the band considers family, for their unwavering support over the years.

I brought along a close friend who was visiting Seattle for the weekend but also studies music management in college. Neither of us had listened to Thunderpussy before this concert, but by the end, we were thoroughly convinced of their pure talent. We were mesmerized by the lead singer’s beautiful voice, along with the impressive joyous energy between the band and the symphony playing alongside each other. It was also my first time visiting Benaroya Hall, just above University St train station. The venue in itself was just as captivating as the Band and Symphony playing together. The whole audience was enraptured, as everyone stood and danced to the band's infectious rock and roll tunes throughout the show. Sides even came down into the crowd at multiple points during the performance, one of her appearances being right next to us. She brought her infectious groove to spread with the audience, bringing everyone together and to their feet. 

Overall, Thunderpussy's 10th-anniversary concert was an extraordinary experience that left us in awe. The combination of rock and symphonic music, the band's dynamic performance, and their heartfelt connection with the audience made it a night to remember. If you ever get the chance to see Thunderpussy live, don't miss it—you'll be in for an unforgettable show. I think it’s also safe to say the crowd felt the same way, as people remained standing and dancing for all of the band's upbeat, rock and roll tunes throughout this euphoric show. Go listen to Thunderpussy now on all streaming platforms!
