Something really just. Nice that I noticed with the bros is that each of them has shown off some pretty interesting skills.

Raph is the one who fixes April’s ceiling fan for her, Mikey takes on half the work when making the new puppy rescue for Todd, and Leo is outright able to reprogram Shelldon’s AI (he messed up, but the fact he was able to do this at all is like??? Raph and Mikey were there too did they know Leo could do that because they were not surprised-)

Of course, this is nothing compared to Donnie’s own immense talent and skill for inventing and science in general, but it shows that the others are not incapable of assisting in his field if need be.

What I like to think with all of this is that they listened to and likely helped with Donnie’s various ideas growing up. Sure they may not get the specifics, and complex science talk goes right over their heads, but in a pinch they’d be able to get Donnie the right tool or set a wire back in place. It’s not as necessary now that Donnie is much more independent when he makes things, but it’s cute to imagine there being a time where the others had to pitch in and learned some stuff because of it.

Leo looked at his phone for a good second and then left it on his bed, unattended. he ran to your residence hall— it didn’t matter to him that it was quite literally on the other side of campus. he needed to hear you say the words he had been waiting to hear since he was fifteen. he’d always had a slight crush on you, mostly off and on.

But during the summer, he had fallen for you even harder than he thought he could. he never thought that he could love someone as much as he loved you. anyway, he was practically dying as he ran to your dorm! his hair was disheveled, and he was panting a bit. he wasn’t sure if he was sweaty because he was nervous, or because he had just ran to get to your dorm.

He knocked on your door three times.

You jumped out of your bed. you felt like throwing up from how nervous you were. you quickly slid on your slippers, and looked in the mirror before you opened the door for him. (making the poor boy wait). you adjusted your hair, making sure it sat right.

You took a deep breath before opening the door. you almost didn’t, but a voice in your head was telling you that you’d be an idiot if you didn’t open the door. your hands gripped the doorknob, and then unlocked it. leo was practically dying because you were taking years to open the stupid door. you finally opened it, getting met by a disheveled-sweaty-flushed leo valdez.

“Hi.” he croaked out, his voice cracking slightly. he felt like he was on fire, literally. he wanted this to be over with! well, no, that’s a lie. he just wanted to be your boyfriend already.

“…Hi.” you answered, your voice was quiet. you had an awkward smile on your face. you were praying that you would just drown at this moment. you’d much rather enjoy that than this.

He cleared his throat, and finally spoke after a long minute of awkward silence. The two looked at each other “I really… really like you. I.. Uh.. You obviously know that already, but I wanna tell you in person?” he said, nodding along with his own words. his hands went to fumble with the hem of his shirt, anxiously waiting for your response.

“I really like you, too.” You replied. you didn’t feel as nervous as anymore when he started to talk. you felt your face getting hotter, and your smile getting bigger. he grinned at you like an idiot.

He thought that he was dreaming when you said you liked him. The start of something. “Really?” He asked, just wanting to hear you say it again. He couldn’t help but grin like an idiot. He thought never in a million years that you’d ever like him! You were totally out of his league. you were so awesome, so pretty, and so sweet.

You nodded again, rolling your eyes. “Yes, really.”

April noted his behaviour as you left the lair and immediately pulled him aside.

"Okay, spill." She sat him down in the kitchen and gave him her best 'big sis time' look.

"I- don't know what you mean," he said slowly, clearing his throat and looking away. "Now if you excuse me-" he started getting up.

"Sit," she ordered and he sat back down. "Come on Leo," she softened her tone. "I want to help."

He sighed heavily and tapped his finger over the table. "Fine," he sighed, finally giving in. "It's- well,... How do you ask somebody out? Asking for a friend."

April smiled and was about to answer when as if summoned Mikey popped up behind them.

"Who is asking who out?" He asked.

"No one!" Leo tried to stop the train from crashing but too late.

"I think Leo likes your new friend a little more than 'just friends'," April informed him.

"That's nothing new." Suddenly Donnie spoke up from the coffee spot. He had crawled out of his science cave to inject more caffeine in his blood stream. "You aren't that hard to read Leo," he added seeing the shocked face of his brother.

"Can we stop with the bullying?" The blue masked turtled sighed.

"Who are we bullying?" Raph asked as he emerged freshly post work out with a towel around his neck.

"Leo." All three replied.

The terrapin in question sighed again leaning his head down and rubbing a spot on his forehead. He could feel the headache coming.

"Oh, really?" Raph grinned. "What about?"

"He wants to ask Sweetness out," Mikey informed him.

"I never said I want to! It's for a friend!" Leo protested.

"Really? What is his name?" April asked with a wide grin.

Leo opened and closed his mouth. He then made an undignified noise and slid lower in his chair.

"That's what I thought," she said smugly.

She made an 'eh' face. "Depends."

"Or a poem." Raph placed one hand on Leo's shoulder. "I got one for you bro."

"Thank you!" Leo called out, hoping the torment was over. He was wrong.

"That being said -," Donnie took a sip of his coffee and cleared his throat.

"Oh, no." Leo sunk further down.

Study Sessions

You stared at your father as he called a family meeting, usually, these go horribly wrong. Especially as of recently, when your father decided that you, the youngest and the only girl (other than your older sister, April) should go to school…and not the school Donnie and (as of recent) Draxum have been teaching. No, human school. A human high school. You sat down at the table and hugged your knees to your chest, Donnie leaning on the wall, Raph and Leo sitting in the chairs and Mikey sitting on the counter. Splinter smiled but before he could speak Red spoke “ Pops- if this is about school I’m sure Donnie could teach her about algebra and..whatever else human kids learn! “ Donnie snarked “ I could teach her rocket science! “ Splinter nodded “ I’m sure you could purple but, she needs to be with other humans, learn to socialize “ you looked away as he slid papers on the table “ April’s parents did me a favor and enrolled her with Casey Jr! “ you felt doom and anxieties cloud your chest, you took the papers and read it, the papers were illegal documents that Donnie made…you read through each line before getting your schedule. The next few weeks came quicker than anticipated. Donnie made you and Casey matching bracelets, they were emergency bracelets (ignoring that your ninpō could just…tell them if something was wrong). And of course they were genius tech! He was making an empire after all! You did clothes shopping with April and also learned how to be socially acceptable with not only April's help, but also Sunita…and finally, the dreaded day. You and Casey stood shoulder to shoulder and stared at the high school, it was bustling, a few interesting faces but mostly everyone already knew each other. There was a larger group, of about seven people. You noted how one had a pretty sapphire necklace and a prosthetic arm that was so fluid it rivaled Donnie’s own he made for Leo. You gave Casey a hopeful smile and walked into the high school, you were immediately overstimulated. Going from a rather empty sewer to a high school was anxiety filling. A blonde haired girl bumped into you, when you turned to apologize for being in her way she immediately apologized. When the class finished you saw the white haired boy meet up with a brown haired girl with a tiger eye brooch. All the jewelry you’ve been seeing was very similar to Sunitas cloaking device, the brown haired girl seemed to be a senior based on how old she looked and sounded. You smiled and led Casey to your other classroom. Science.. how lovely, you knew you’d get this fine. Casey had a bit less of knowledge than you, they didn’t exactly have a need for schooling in the apocalypse. While you…well your brain has been nurtured by your older brother since the both of your youth. You could speak four different languages fluently, you could do some math that college students learn, you could do most things. Your biggest problem? American history. You learned Japanese history, your father telling you myths and legends that he learned. And you knew a bit of history from China. A sudden electrical feeling ran through you and Casey, it was simply a blue warmth, less like a fire or a sun and more like an electric heat. You were more than happy to welcome it into your ninpō, walking with it through your science class. It was simple biology, you slept through most of it with Casey and answered any questions sent your way. It left soon after second period and left you alone during third.

Then it was time for your language class…you spoke flawlessly, holding a full conversation with the teacher in Spanish before halfway switching to Japanese to see if the teacher could too. Casey suddenly spoke up next to you and you turned, the two of you happily chattering in Japanese, sometimes clicking at each other before you realized that was weird, so you continued in Japanese. Yes, both you and Casey are fluent in the “ turtle language “ but shhh that doesn’t matter. Language class moved quickly and then off to fourth. You met Nyssa again, they said hello as you sat down next to Casey in biology. It was announced that you’ll be dissecting something. When you questioned what the teacher smiled “ oh! we’ll be dissecting something super exciting tomorrow, a red eared slider! “ you felt queasy. Quickly shooting up your hand to ask for the restroom, you sped off and found yourself emptying your stomach in the school hallway, a trash can in your hold, your ninpō going crazy and altering not only all of your brothers of your panicking but also a feeling…someone who was spewing mystic energy somewhere in this school, and no, it wasn’t Draxum. His mystic powers felt a certain…way. It wasn’t long before Casey found you and rubbed your back. The feeling of Raphs sturdy ninpō wrapping around your panicking one helped calm you down. You breathed and wiped your mouth with a sanitary wipe Donnie was demanding you keep with you. Slowly you and Casey went back to class, you still looked clammy and jumpy as you sat down and looked anywhere but the board that was a display of snapping turtles insides, Casey was holding it together, but barely. Like an overstuffed suitcase. The bell soon rang after that.

You made your way to lunch where you spoke to Draxum a bit and then was swept away by Nyssa. Brought to a table with the same few interesting people you’ve seen that day. When you really got closer to them, most of the jewelry was spewing mystic energy…cloaking devices. The brown haired senior was named Bellezza, there was a tan girl with short curly hair and a seal coat named Öskra, a blonde senior with blue eyes named River, she had a opal gemstone in a choker on her neck. A brown haired girl named Ésme who shared a ruby ring with the white haired boy (whom you learned was named Mason) and was the only one who didn’t buzz with mystic energy. And the last person, a black haired boy with burgundy eyes named Alexander, he had a garnet bracelet on. They all seemed to be able to pick up on your free flowing ninpō, and how it was prickling from previous panic. You were stuck close to Casey as you rested through lunch, your ninpō reaching and searching for two in particular. One that kind of felt like Mc Donald’s sprite and the electrical warmth. They both responded immediately, their ninpōs like two cats curling around a scared kitten. Your ninpō is the metaphorical kitten.

You didn’t eat lunch that day, moving into fifth period, ELA. The teacher gave you a free period and you simply slept. Your lashes attached to your cheek before you woke up with a startled noise, your eyes wide before looking up. There was your purple clad brother, staring at you as you looked at the ceiling tiles. You glared at him, before looking around and getting yourself into the roof quickly “ what are you doing here?! “ you hissed “ I’m just seeing how my dear sister is doing! and if this school is really better than my teachings! '' you sighed “ it’s super easy right now- “ Donnie laughed “ of course it is! He said confidently “ you smiled at your brother and sighed “ How’s everyone holding up at home? '' Donnie hummed “ Nardo has been fighting Raph to not just portal in this school and hunt you down. I didn’t let him come! “ you stared at him dead panned “ and you can? '' Donnie stared and then slowly backed away into the shadows of the dusty air vent. You dropped down quietly after that and slipped back into your seat, knocking dust off yourself. The bell rang again…god you were tired of that damn bell. Time for sixth period.

Next was a world history class. The teacher had turtles as a class pet, you were immediately drawn to them. Casey watched as you quietly chirped and rumbled at them. The turtles craning their heads closer to you as you made noises at them, their quiet voices responding. You quickly scampered to your seat, far away from Casey. Squished between two boys that made your ninpō scream and demand you return to Casey’s side, anxieties pulling your brain into mush. The teacher put on a video about ancient Egyptian mythology. Stuff you already knew. Your eyes grew heavy as you fell asleep, halfway through your rest the sound of a large bang startled you awake.

You whipped back with a noise and fell out of your chair. Backing up a bit, you didn’t see a classroom. You saw the tunnels, kraang infested as they chased you and your brothers. Raph missing. That was your whole mission, to retrieve your oldest brother. Leo and Casey Jr got separated. Mikey and Donnie hid in the tank. Leaving you, to get stolen away. You fumbled and looked around for something, anything to fight the kraang. Someone grabbed your arm and you started hitting it, the arm didn’t relent, it was softly pulling you away from the tunnel. The whole…incident… was traumatic for you. any really, everyone. You, Casey, Raph, and Leo got the nastiest of the flashbacks. The yokai therapist that the family got said they were classified as panic attacks. Even as the soft arms pushed you to the floor you continued hitting and thrashing, pausing when the feeling of something wrapping around your ninpō entered your brain. Your body is basically shocked to real life. Casey was holding you by your arms, you had hot tears running down your face and hurt vocal cords. You stared at him and blinked before letting out a quiet sob and leaning forward, him just holding you throughout the entirety of sixth period.

You guys didn’t go to seventh period. You just sat in the corner of a hallway and breathed, at some point the same blonde senior, River, came and sat down with you two. And after that? Mason, the albino boy, and Bellezza the senior with auburn hair joined her. They were all siblings, Casey theorized that they were wolf yokai based on how they flocked like a pack. Seventh period ended quickly, when April came to get you guys she immediately noticed the tense mood from you two, walking back to the sewers…she could only wonder how the brothers would react. When the three of you walked in, Raph was the first to notice you being back, he looked at your and Casey’s sour faces and lowered his snout so it rested on your head and hugged you, chuffing hard enough your entire body vibrated. You made small similar noises, but they were weak and halfhearted. Raph was so worried about what happened to you at school. Leo and Donnie soon returned to the main area and joined the upwards cuddle session, Casey and April being pulled into it as they all wrapped around Raph to feel his churrs, Mikey soon attaching to Raphs shells and starting to chur as well, you forgot how amazing it felt to be held like this. You took off your cloaking device and the scars that were hidden from the public eye became known. Downside is that too many people can get painful as there's too many people, sometimes she projects what she's feeling so others can feel her emotions by accident ? Well first of all the turtles are legit screwed because- well, since you hear their thoughts...you're most likely gonna run away due to how problematic-sounding they are.

In terms of all their abilities, I think Donnie would be by far the most fascinated by the science behind it- (no he will not call it mystic powers bcs fuck that). The others are amazed by it too, but more so by what your abilities are.

By any chance you're in pain, they're all concerned, but Donnie and Raph are panicking (Leo and Mikey are angry at the cause of the pain-)

If you ever project your emotions to them they'll react accordingly on how you feel (negatively they'll be wary); however, Mikey? Bro will take any projection and sees it as an omen. Istg you could just be hungry and he thinks he needs to solve world hunger or something.

His body was burning, head pounding like someone was hitting him from the inside. Everything was going smoothly until a werewolf showed up and bit him right on the shoulder. 

The transformation was a terrible process. He was sweating more than usual. His body temperature raised so high, it was like he came down with the flu. 

Donnie was completely helpless during this phase; the poor man passed out because his body overheated, his brothers called out to him as soon as he hit the ground. 

When he came to, he was in his bed, the covers barely covering him as he shifted and a groan left him when he did so. His shoulder ached, his head was having the worst migraines he ever had, and he just wanted to go back to bed and sleep everything off. 

But he can't. He has so much to do and laying around will do nothing but waste time. 

Getting up was the hardest thing he could ever do; like everything felt so sore even though he barely did anything yesterday. Yes, he trained like usual but it's nothing out of the ordinary. He just wants to kick himself for being a baby. 

Brush it off, it'll pass, he thought to himself as he got up from the warmth of his bed and into the living room. He was too deep in his thoughts that he didn't realize one of his brothers was coming towards him. 

"Hey, Donnie, are you feeling okay? You don't look too good, bro." Mikey says as he touches his arm, making the purple clad turtle jerked from the contact. The youngest took a step back, eyes held a hint of sadness. 

"I-I'm sorry, Mikey. You just startled me, that's all." Donnie's voice sounded deeper than usual, the youngest noticed. His skin pale and sweat glistening. "I was just having too many thoughts."

"It's fine, my dude! Should have called for you next time." Mikey gleamed, glad that it wasn't his presence that made his brother jerk away from him. 

With that both of the brothers head to the kitchen. Leo and Raph were talking to each other as the other walked in. 

"Donnie," Raph smirked as he watched his younger brother rub his eyes. "You good, bro?" 

With a nod, Donnie let out a sigh as he sat down on the many chairs from the dining area. "I'm fine, just have a headache." 

"Probably need to eat something." Leo comments. "When was the last time you had a decent meal?" 

The genius winced, knowing that he hadn't been eating properly. Leo and Raph shook their heads. 

"Well good thing that I'm in the kitchen, huh?" Mikey cheered as he looked throughout the pantry. "You want your usual Don?"

Donnie hummed as he shook his head. "Maybe some steak? Make it medium." With his response, he looked up and saw his brother's expressions. They were all surprised with the genius's request. He was never a fan of having blood in his steak, it makes him squirm and has that bitter taste in his mouth even with the seasonings. 

Mikey looked at his older brother, worry filled his being. "Really? You don't usually go for the steak, bro. Are you okay?" 

"Yes, for the third time today, I'm fine," Donnie says with aggravation. His blood slowly bubbles with anger. 

Since when does he get angry easily?

"I don't know, man, you look like you've been through Hell and back." Raph says as he approached Donnie, but stopped when his brother let out a sound he was not familiar with.

Was that a growl?

Yes, they're turtles but they never make this type of animalistic type of growl. This is a sound of warning, to alert the others of their territory. The sound was usually from canines, so how can Donnie make such a sound? This is very abnormal. It made the brothers stand on end.

“Uh, Dee?” It was Mikey’s trembling tone that made Donnie realize what he just did, yet the purple clad turtle still felt that growl start to form in his chest. He had to get out of there. It made him feel terrified of himself, doesn’t trust himself at this moment.

“I’m sorry, guys. Let me go back to my lab and I’ll be fine.” Donnie soon got up from his seat but it felt like he got punched in his chest, and could barely breathe. Then, the migraine that came barreling through was excruciating. He clutched his head and let out a pitiful whimper; his vision became blurry, his heart pounding in his chest as he could sense one of his brothers walk towards him. 

“Stay away from me!” His yell caught the guys off guard but it fell on deaf ears because one of his brothers stood behind him.

“Donnie, what’s going on, bro?” It was Raphael. 

Donnie could smell Raphael’s pheromones. He knew that the brute is an alpha, no doubt about it, but why does he feel threatened by that? Is it because he carries himself so high that the genius wished he could do the same? 

Or was it. . .

“Leo, call Y/N. Something is wrong with Donnie.”

That’s when his body tensed; his heart pounding even more as his blood boiled. 

They have her number.

Raph and the others knew his feelings for Y/N, so why do they have her number? The logical part of him knew why. You are friends with his brothers, or he hopes you’re only friends. Yet that other side of him, the territorial side, was burning with anger. The dark voice in his mind was seething. With Raph right behind him, it sees him as a threat. 

That’s when he let out a muttered gasp. 

What if you were with Raph the whole time?

What if you prefer alpha males like his brother?

Donnie’s heart broke with every thought that came through. All those times you two spent time together, the late calls and texts were nothing? Just someone to talk to when his brother wasn’t available? That part of him howled inside of him and begged to be let out. In that moment, Donnie let it and his vision turned dark. 

He finally gave in.

Raph felt utterly useless. He has no knowledge in the medical field, that was Donnie’s job. Seeing his younger brother in this state has him blocked in all corners. He could have a headache because of the lack of food and water, maybe sleep as well. 

He didn’t notice that Donnie started trembling until he fell to his knees. “Hey, Donnie? You with me?” Raph asked when he touched his shoulder.

Leo and Mikey went to help their brother but stood on end when Donnie spoke. His voice wasn’t the usual shy and introverted one. It was deep, guttural, and downright terrifying.

“Mine.”

Raph was confused. “Mine?”

That’s when it started to throw down. The brute’s eyes widened when Donnie turned so quickly he didn’t have time to react and attacked him. Raph grunted when he was being pinned down to the kitchen floor and went to push him back, but his blood ran cold when he saw his brother's eyes. No longer the beautiful hazel but bloodshot yellow. Not only that, but he grew fangs. 

He soon went back down to earth when Donnie continuously started punching him, but Raph blocked every blow and threw him back. When the purple clad got up, his stance wasn’t the usual ninja stance that they’ve been trained to. It was more of a hunched posture and - if he was a different animal - he would be on four legs. He growled out in warning when Leo and Mikey went to pick up Raph from the floor. 

“Geez, dude, what’s going on?” Mikey says when he brought Raphael to his feet. 

“That’s not Donnie, not anymore. Look at his eyes.” Leo and Mikey looked at Donnie’s eyes and shuttered when Donnie stayed in that position, waiting for them to strike. “Those are the eyes of a killer.”

“When he said ‘mine,’ does he mean Y/N? He does have feelings for her.” Mikey says as he took a step back when Donnie growled once again. 

“Yep, that’s it. He did get bit by that wolf, so he probably got turned into one.” Leo concludes as he stands in front of Mikey, big brother instincts kicking in and starts to protect his brothers. “How do we change him back though is the question.”

“We can find that wolf man that did this to him and get some answers.”

“How? He’s with the police and under investigation.” Raph says as his focus stays on Donnie. He lost his focus once and it won’t happen again. 

“If we tell them what’s going on, then they will bring him in for questioning.” Leo says as he eyed Donnie. “But we need Donnie locked up for now. Otherwise, he will end up hurting everyone. We can’t let him near Sensei.”

“Got a plan, Leo? Cause I will gladly be the brute force.” Raph smirked as he cracked his knuckles. “This is payback for attacking me like that. Brother or not, you wanna fight? I will give you a fight.”

Donnie chuckled. “Best man wins.”

Leo sighed as he sidestepped away from his brothers with Mikey behind him. “I will give you permission this once, just don’t destroy the whole place. Knock him out.”

Raph laughed at that. “You hear that Donnie? Leo gave me permission to go all out. So prepare yourself.”

With that, they both collided. 

Fists and curses were thrown as they fought. Grunts and growls were heard as Raph pushed Donnie away and soon picked him up by the waist, carrying him away from the kitchen. He winced when Donnie beat on his side, the one that isn’t protected by his shell. It made him loosen his grip and Donnie kneed his plastron, making Raph breathless. Since when does Donnie have so much strength? 

No longer in Raph’s grasp Donnie kicked Raph in the face, making Raph spew out blood from his mouth. “Y/N is mine. You think you’re better than everyone? Well, guess what, you’re not. Strength doesn’t help you in every situation.”

“Well it does in this one, brainiac.” Raph growled as he charged at Donnie and got him pinned down to the ground. “If you actually tell her how you feel, then maybe you won’t go territorial on everyone.”

Donnie paused. For a split second, his eyes turned their natural color again. “Wait, you’re not dating her?”

“Gods, no. I have someone else in mind, bro,” Raph said as he rolled his eyes. “For a genius, you are pretty stupid,” With that, he punched Donnie in the face and knocked him out cold. 

Donnie woke up with the most excruciating he ever had. Not only that, his face was sore beyond belief. What happened? He looked around the room and saw that he was in his room. He barely remembers what all that took place; the feeling of anger and betrayal was there, then the animal side of him took over and everything went dark.

Tossing the blanket off him, he slowly rose from the bed and headed towards the door. When he went to open it, however, it was locked. Did they lock him in here? What all took place when he wasn’t in the right mind? Panic filled his being, he needed to get out of here. Usually he doesn’t mind being locked in here, but this is different. He must have done something that made his brothers lock him up in his lab. 

Looking for the keys to the door and unlocking it, he slowly opened it and tried not to alert anyone. His head poked out and that’s when he saw his brothers. Raph holding an ice pack on his face as he spoke to the others. Donnie’s heart clenched. 

Did he do that?

Did he fight his brother?

“Glad that Donnie is in one piece. I was getting worried that Donnie will win,” Leo teased as his arms crossed over his chest.

Raph tsked and leaned back on the couch. “Whatever, Leo, I had it under control.” His eyes turned somber. “He got me good though, never knew Donnie could put up a fight. Turned or not, that brainiac got strength.”

Mikey chuckled. “Is that praise I hear? If Donnie was awake, he would be happy knowing that he almost brought down the beast.” He laughed as Raph shoved him, but the brute was chuckling with him. 

But Donnie wasn’t happy at all. 

He almost killed his brother. 

With this in mind, he stepped out of the lab and that’s when eyes were on him. Raph stood up and sighed. “I may be bruised but I can still go for another round.”

Donnie shook his head, breathing rapidly. Leo saw this. “Wait, Raph, this is the real Donnie you’re talking to.” 

Raph turned back to Donnie and eyed his being. His stance wasn’t like earlier, it’s the timid and nervous one that he was all too familiar with. He looked into his eyes and they were back to the hazel color. This is the real Donatello. 

“I-I hurt my own brother,” Donnie says as he sidesteps when they were walking towards him. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you. I don’t know what came over me.”

After that, his head starts to pound once again. He could feel that the animal side starts to return and he doesn’t know if he could hold on. He needs to get away from here. What if Y/N came in and he was like this? She will get hurt because of him and he would die if he had done something like that to her. 

And he did what he was known for. 

He ran. 

The yells from his brothers were calling him back but he ignored them. He can’t turn back, not when he has control to get away from everyone. Donnie reached the man-hole cover and ran some more, jumping and running on top of buildings. That sickening feeling of his crush looking at him with terrified eyes. 

Donnie felt tears pricking his eyes as he found an abandoned alleyway and took shelter. The purple clad buried in on himself as he let the tears fall, cries of pain left his lips as memories from earlier came rushing at him. He hurt his brother all because of jealousy and anger. 

That’s when he made his decision, he isn’t coming back home - for his brothers and Y/N’s sake.

Because he is really and truly a monster.

“What do you mean Donnie is gone?” Y/N was on her way home from work when the turtle brothers called her about what happened earlier that night. The part where they were on patrol and a wolfman came out of nowhere, bit Donnie, then the genius turned into a wolf himself even though he doesn’t look like one - only the characteristics. The animal side of him was more prudent and had no control over it, even attacked Raph when he mentioned something that only Donnie can answer. 

And it aggravated the woman. She doesn’t like secrets but, for now, the woman can deal with it. 

“Donnie ran out of the lair before we could get a word in, probably guilty for attacking me.” Raph spoke through the phone as she continued to walk down the street. “Can’t blame him though, especially the conversation before it happened. Triggered his animal instincts.”

“Either way, it’s my job to find him?” Y/N said as she looked through alleyways and found nothing, not even a stray cat. “Good thing I just got off from work.”

“We really don’t want you to be part of this but it’s not like we had a choice in this,” Leo says as he eyed the many monitors in Donnie’s lab. “I don’t know how Donnie put up with this technical stuff, too many wires. How do you even log in to his computer?”

“You barely know how to work a phone, bro. You can’t say anything.” Mikey snickered as she heard movement from the other end. “Let me do this. Or you’re gonna get it from Donnie when he comes back.”

“Call me old fashion, Mikey. I prefer it that way.” Leo argued back and Raph laughed.

“Instead of walkie-talkies, we had to use smoke signals for Leo. Otherwise, we’ll overload his ‘old fashioned’ mind.”

Y/N can’t help but to laugh at the brothers' antics. If Donnie was there, he would laugh at Leo’s complaining about technology. “Well try not to overload his mind, guys. There’s no telling what kind of stuff you will go through without him.”

“Hey!” Leo says and she could hear him pout through the phone, making her and the brothers laugh once again. “I will get you guys back, watch your backs.”

“Yeah, yeah.” Raph says as he pauses for a second. “What do you have Mikey?”

“He actually didn’t go that far, but it depends on Y/N’s location.” Mikey was surprising everyone with how smart he has gotten. “What’s your location, Y/N?” 

When she was about to give your location, the woman felt like she was being watched. Turning her head to a dark alleyway, her heart sped up rapidly when yellow eyes stared back at her through the darkness. The figure was tall and she felt so intimidated. 

“Y/N, are you there?” Leo says through the phone. 

The woman swallowed whatever was in her throat and said, “You said Donnie has yellow eyes, right? Well I think I found him.”

“You shouldn’t be here,” Was Donnie’s response and he turned away, the glowing yellow eyes no longer there. 

“Donnie, wait!” Y/N called out to him as she went into the darkness. She knew that following him would be dangerous, considering that - even with the city lights - it’s still dark and could barely see anything. 

“Be careful, Y/N. Bring Donnie back and we’ll get some answers.” With that, the call ended. 

Sighing she turned on the flashlight and gasped when Donnie stood in front of her, almost dropping her phone in the process. His expression was something she wasn’t familiar with, but she won’t deny that it was thrilling.

She has to be messed up because he could easily hurt her, but she knew he wouldn’t do it. 

“You need to leave. I told you once and I won't do it again.” He said as he crossed his arms over his chest. 

The woman almost drooled from the way his biceps bulged. Y/N knew that he has muscle but, good heavens, he looks so delicious right now. He isn’t the type to show it off like his brother, says that he prefers to keep his strength somewhere useful. Oh, how she wanted to yell at him during that point. He is a fine specimen and she’s angry that he talked down on himself. 

How can he not realize her feelings for him?

“What if I don’t want to leave? Are you gonna hurt me?” Y/N should be afraid of how Donnie’s eyes bore fury, but she’s not. The complete opposite. She was turned on by this.

Donnie was surprised by the questions. She doesn’t want to leave? Does she realize how dangerous he can be? It wasn’t until he smelt this sweet aroma that made him realize what was happening. 

Was she. . .?

Y/N smirked when his eyes turned dark with lust. “You like me, don’t you?” His eyes widened as she found out his secret, then he became flustered as he averted his gaze somewhere else. “It’s okay, Donnie, I like you too. That’s why I am prepared for this.”

She stepped forward as her fingertips gracefully trailed up from his abdomen, plastron, then his cheek. Her touch burned his every being and the animal side of him growled in want, devouring her until there was nothing left. Donnie lifted his hand towards her waist and pulled her forward; their bodies meshing together as he leaned forward, lips almost colliding. The tension was high between them as more of the sweet scent of her filled his nostrils.

Does she know what she’s doing to him?

“Are you sure about this? I don’t want you to regret anything once we start this.” Donnie says as his eyes locked on hers. He could feel her breath hitched as she stared at his eyes then his lips. “Push me away.”

The woman snickered and gripped the belt loops from his pants. “I don’t think so. You’re too handsome for me to pull away.”

He chuckled deeply at that. “All right. You wanna play that game, then I’ll play.”

His lips soon pressed to hers and she melted into his embrace. Y/N knew she had to bring Donnie back home, but it’s hard to do so when he looks like he’s going to devour her at this moment. 

How could she deny this man?

Not when she knew his feelings. 

The purple terrapin growled deep within his throat as he moved forward and pressed her against the wall, hand her cheek as his lips caressed hers. She tasted so divine; the sweetness and softness of her lips was so addicting. Pop Tarts got nothing on this woman. Tongues colliding, moans and groans shared, and all he wanted was to take her on this wall until she begged either for mercy or more. Having his woman whimper and moan for both made his heart race. 

He pulled away from her lips to her neck, trailing kisses and love bites as her back arches from the red brick - breasts pressing to his plastron. Y/N whimpered when he found a sensitive spot. “Donnie,” she moaned as his hands trailed down her waist and slid inside her shirt. “Hurry, please.”

“Impatient, aren’t we? That’s cute.” He chuckled as his fingertips gently grazed her back, sending chills up her spine. Donnie hummed as the turtle enjoyed the reaction he just received. “Safe word is pi to the ninth decimal. You better prepare yourself, darling.”

With that, he took off her jeans from her body. Donnie wanted to destroy them but she said otherwise, and doesn't want his brothers seeing her in this predicament. The genius can’t help but to laugh at the irony. She’s worried about his brothers seeing her but they are completely in the open. 

“Honey, you do realize we are in an alley. Even if it is abandoned, someone will come through here at any time.” She gasped when he lifted her up by her waist and had her legs over his shoulders while he stood. “Imagine someone walking down this way and seeing you like this. Legs spread while a man takes you to another realm with his tongue.”

Y/N moaned as he delved into her heat; his tongue dragged over her sensitive pearl and she mewled out her pleasure only for him. Donnie growled as he tasted her for the first time and he had to dive in for more, whimpers and moans were heard from the woman above him when he delved his tongue deeper from within. Her words of praise left her swollen lips as she rocked her hips, legs shaking by the ecstasy he’s delivering.

Just him picking her up and having her legs over his shoulders - showing her his strength - has her heart doing cartwheels and somersaults.  Whatever insecurities she had, they were thrown to the window. Cause if her man looks at her like she was his only meal and will devour her with any chance he could get, then sign her up! 

She will gladly offer to this man before her. 

With her mouth still covered, she wailed as she came once again - legs trembling when he drank from her. His groans and growls were everything, they resonated to her femininity and she wanted to cry from how good he was pleasuring her. after finding out he's trans from Draxum, Leo drops the news to his family with a joke and zero explication. The family wants to be a supportive as possible, but misunderstand and think that Leo just came out as transfem. The fact they didn't even consider Leo is biofem is surprisingly validating.

“Guess who just gave a new meaning to to word trans-portation!”

This is the first thing Leo says to everyone after going off with Draxum to who-knows-where for who-knows-what.

“Normally, I unfortunately understand the flow of logic for Leo’s puns, but I admit that I am blanking here.” Donnie says, looking at Leo with narrowed eyes.

Leo laughs - maybe a bit hysterically - as he saunters on over to the rest of his family. “Eh, just a little joke about my awesome portal powers mixed with- uh-“ He coughs into his fist, finding it difficult to keep his regular act up. “-a fab new finding about myself. Turns out I was born…a female turtle……?”

There’s silence for a moment.

Then- “Omigosh! Leo!” An orange blur rockets its way into Leo’s arms, making the slider let out and “oof” before steading both he and Mikey. “Thank you for telling us! Wait, is it still Leo? Or Lea now, maybe?”

The shock wheels its way out of Raph’s form as he comes over, eyes shiny, “I’m glad you told us, little sis.”

Leo blinks at them. “Wait-“

“Please note that if any of our enemies or allies refers to you incorrectly I can and will use deadly force to correct them.” Donnie states, with a grin that looked a little too excited about the idea.

“Same here!” April states, pounding one hand into another, “And- it’s cool to have another girl around.”

Leo thinks something got lost in translation. “Uh, guys-“

Splinter comes up to his side, patting his arm gently. “Oh, my Baby Blue, I’m so proud of you, my daught-“

“Okay, no, no, you guys got it wrong.” Leo laughs again, more uncomfortably than hysterically this time. “I’m- I’m not, like, a girl. I was-“ He looks away, feeling way too embarrassed about all this for his comfort, “I was born as a female turtle. Biologically.”

A beat.

“Oh.” Raph blinks down at him, surprise on his face, “Oh we may have jumped the gun there.”

“Well, this is embarrassing, though my offer of violence stands.” Donnie states.

Mikey rubs the back of his head sheepishly, “So…still Leo? Our brother?”

Leo gives a fond grin, “Yeah, yeah, still your brother.”

(April makes a noise of amusement, elbowing Splinter as everyone turns to her, “Hey, y’know what Splints? I think your DNA may have accidentally became some kinda HRT for Leo.”

Donnie thinks, “It does make sense, if a female red eared slider were to become mutated with a male human’s DNA then hypothetically it could create a mutant that takes on a more masculine outer appearance while retaining the female make up that was used as the base-“

Leo cuts in, “Okay, okay, no science-ing my gender, bro, let’s just order some pizza.”)

i have to ask,,, what are some strengths of the next mutation,,,,, like original characters and interesting dynamics with the turtles,,,, i need motivation to watch it

Venus is a delight! She's such a sweetheart, just genuinely always trying to do what's right, and that often means it's her and Leo (and usually eventually just her) trying to talk the other turtles out of the shenanigans they get into. She also has a really fun playful side that comes out more as she gets to know her bros! Gotta admit, I am a sucker for siblings getting to know each other. I have two step-sisters and there's really no other adventure like it

Raph is very protective, which always gets to me. Of his siblings mostly but if he sees someone else in trouble his soft side comes out. Him and Leo also have a fun back and forth, and I appreciate the realness of how it genuinely is good-natured most of the time but sometimes gets mean-spirited and they have to back up and apologize

I really enjoy Donnie and Venus, they have an ongoing 'science vs magic' debate. Same as with Raph and Leo it can get a little too mean at times, but then you can catch the subtle moments where they're supporting each other in spite of clearly not understanding and that means so much to me

Splinter goes to the park regularly to play chess with his friend Andre, only shown in a couple episodes but implied to be routine

Splinter for me is one of the biggest strengths. He makes some pretty major mistakes, both addressed and unaddressed by the narrative, but what I love about this take on Splinter is that he admits when he was wrong, either laughing at silly mistakes or making serious long-term corrections.

I find the fight scenes quite fun! You do have to go in prepared for the right flavor though, it is absolute ham and cheese. 2% believability 5% plot progression 93% 'what prop can we add to make this kick into a pun'

Romeo is definitely my favorite out of the three (Taiga got some problems bro😭)

All in all I really loved the ep and it is a close favorite but jabberwock is still my No. 1 fav episodes rn

Hard agree about the anomaly design. It was very creative and cool looking! I am sort of curious about if we might see more instances of anomalies created by the happenings at Darkwick... it would be especially cool if that happened in Hotarubi and we could get some answers about why Taiga and Haku were together in the beginning because they're having the same problem...

Speaking of Hotarubi, I thought it was very interesting that Zenji was reciting the Crane Wife story... I forget the name of what exactly he is doing but I know it because it gets used in Monster Hunter Rise to introduce the new hunts. Here's an example with my favorite monster:

Anyway given that we've been talking about Towa maybe having once been an anomalous creature I thought it was interesting, interesting indeed...

Personally I think that the solution to the amount of guns MC has had put to her head in Book 4 is to give her one of her own. Come on Romeo give her a gun, she deserves it, I deserve it, we ALL deserve it for being forced to let Ritsu run roughshod over us in your book. I could see him doing it too, he was so soft on her by the end. I get that some people don't like guns but... Romeo teaching MC to shoot because he's worried about how little she's able to defend herself. He's really patient with her and super strict about it, but she'll be able to defend herself so help him.

Jabberwock is still the best book imho so far too. I don't know where I would rate the others though... I think I like Book 1 a bit better than 2? But that's because no Leo. I'll have to think on it a bit more.

Oh yes and the anomalies. Out of all the dorms the two who I think stand the biggest chance of actually capturing an anomaly are Hotarubi and Mortranken, one because they're allegedly goodie too shoes and the other because they're science brained morons who wanted to work with MC so they could do that from the start. But yeah... given our track record I won't hold my breath.

How do you think Mona’s relationship is with Raph’s family + Casey and April?

She really only interacted with Raph from what I remember and that’s a crime, she deserved more from the writers. Splinter showing her embarrassing baby photos of Raphael is everything to me💅

Yes! I've been wanting to talk about this! I really wish the show had Mona interact with more characters. The only people she truly has a dynamic/relationship with is Raph, Sal Commander and maybe Lord Dregg (but very little). Wasted potential for her character, so I'm gonna fix that! Here we go!

Leo & Mona Lisa

Leo took the longest for him and Mona to really form a bond/friendship. Leo tends to have a hard time trusting people Raph's close with (Slash & Casey) and even longer to warm up to them. Leo was grateful for Mona, she has helped him and his brothers numerous times, they both respect each other as skilled fighters and have a mutual respect towards each other, but that was it for the longest time. It wasn't until one night when Mona came to the lair to visit Raph she ran into Leo instead. He tells her Raph is out and won't be back till later so Mona decides to stay at the lair and wait. Leo is about to watch a 24 hour Spaceheroes marathon, and not wanting to leave Mona bored and alone, he offers for her to join him and watch his favorite show. Few hours later, Raph comes home to find his brother and girlfriend sitting together wearing Spaceheroes merch, sitting inches away from the TV, watching in a amazement as they fanboy/girl over Captain Ryan. Raph realizes in horror that Leo has turned his girlfriend into a Space-Nick. The two now are really close and 80% of the things they talk about together are Spaceheroes and other sci-fi shows Leo has gotten her into, and other times they spar together and share sword fighting tips and tricks.

Donnie & Mona Lisa

Similar to Leo, Donnie took a while to really bond with Mona, but he and Mona were more quick to find something in common. She's more than just her strength, she's intelligent and handy too. There have been times Mona had to work on/repair many Salamandrian ships by herself when they were down and her and her commander were off planet. Donnie also really enjoys talking to Mona about intergalactic sciences, and Mona often shows and lets him borrow her old tech and gear for him to study and analyze, helping him improve his work and knowledge of many scientific fields. Out of all the brothers, Mona and Donnie have the most mature relationship/dynamic, if that makes sense. Sometimes they like to share a cup of coffee and catch up and chat about the latest stuff going on in their lives. I also like to think in the future Donnie is Mona's go to for medical treatment/her baby doctor when her and Raph start having a family. He also becomes their kid's personal tutor.

Mikey & Mona Lisa

Mikey is quick to befriend anyone he meets, so of course he and Mona quickly form a friendship. Mona, just like many others, adores Mikey and he feels the same. Mikey reminds Mona of all the Salamandrian children back on her home planet and she admires how positive and carefree he can be despite all the challenges he has faced in his life. Mona also really loves Mikey's cooking (I HC that Salamandrian appetites are similar to Saiyans from Dragon Ball Z,) and she will eat almost anything he makes, and Mikey wants to introduce her to all Earth's food, especially pizza. I imagine one day Mikey finds out Mona is unaffected by spicy foods (another HC of mine) so he just decides to make as many spicy foods as he can to see if he'll get any reaction out of her. Spoilers: he didn't. Mikey also likes how happy Mona makes his brother, cause out of everyone Mikey knows how grumpy Raph used to be before Mona entered his life. Now, whenever Raph is angry or Mikey wants his big bro to do something for him, Mikey just pulls the "Mona-Card". Mikey is also a big time RaMona shipper and always likes to mess with Raph when it comes to Mona, whether that's embarrassing him by telling Mona stories about Raph from past missions/their childhood or telling her about "the bug incident".

April & Mona Lisa

These two would be BFFs and you can't change my mind on this!! Think about it: April's first real best friend turned out to be a lie, being only a Kraang bot used to get to her and the Turtles. For Mona, she grew up in the military (my HC), there's no time for silly childish games and making friends, only war. April would start trying to form a friendship with Mona by using the "we're both aliens" conversation starter, which Mona thought was a sweet gesture of trying to make her feel more at home when she first started living on Earth. Eventually Mona began to ask April for dating advice and help her get ready for dates with Raph. Because of this, the two form a strong bond and become basically like sisters. Always chatting, hanging out, sometimes even training together. Two become emotional support for each other and help each other grow and improve in their fighting and skills. April is the spunky upbeat friend, while Mona is the blunt badass ("Someone will die" "Of fun!"). Also, April always tries to get a piggyback ride from Mona, because she's tall and April is small. It's cute.

Casey & Mona Lisa

This one was kinda tricky, but I imagine Casey and Mona's dynamic would be something similar to Joey and Monica from Friends. The best friend and the girlfriend team up to annoy the shit out of the boyfriend and mess with him over little things he does. April is the good influence on Mona, while Casey is the bad influence. Casey is probably the one who taught/convinced Mona to curse and is most likely the one to make the dirty jokes when he sees Raph and Mona together. He's a wingman at heart, gotta help his bro. Also, out of everyone, Casey is the only one not disturbed when Mona talks about her traumatizing violent and bloody war stories. Casey thinks they are "so metal!!"

YU-GI-OH! 5D’s — RAIN ORICHALCUM

FAMILY. Oh, there is nothing quite like sharing blood with Dartz Orichalcum.

I worked off an Atlantis AU in which Dartz had two children: Rain and Ranue. This was before the Spirit World existed, so monster and humans shared the Earth. Dartz despises monsters because they killed his father, Ironheart. Rain makes buddies with a monster (Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon), they fuse, aaand Rain is immediately outcast from Atlantis society by Dartz. Gotta keep the YGO trend of all the fathers of the year!! (She gets revenge by making him a prisoner in his own body but that’s a story for ANOTHER TIME)

Rain has a sister that is more like a clone because she was created by Rain splitting into her human and monster halves when the Spirit World came into existence. She’s named Rahlin(the one in the artwork wearing the suit)! They act as warm and close as if they were born sisters and care deeply for one another. Older bro Ranue is an inspiration to them both as he kept on supporting them even after her outcasting. He’s a super sweet boi who loves cooking and inventing using Orichalcos. Rahlin in particular takes after his science interests whereas Rain more aspires to be as kind and forgiving as him

And of course, with this being 5D’s, all the Signers become like a found family for Rain 💜 older bros Yusei, Jack, and Crow, lil Luna and Leo as the younger sibs, Aki as sis and fellow scarred psychic (and both of them being in love with uh… men that get them judged for it 😭) Jack is both who she fights with most AND the family member she is closest to lmao. They go through rough patches and at one point all lose their marks because of infighting!! But then they get them back plus the fun manga versions of the Signer Dragons :3c

Crimson Dragon, who is a speaking character in the series, actually is a good dad despite how cryptic he can be—he very much cares for his chosen children a lot and wants to see them all heal and succeed!
