Fire Emblem Awakening Mistletoe Headcanons

Here I am, back once again, sliiiiightly late as per potentially usual. The holidays are a busy time for anyone, after all, and I am not exception! Still, I hope you enjoy what I have in store. This year’s set for Awakening follows Henry/Olivia, Tiki/Say’ri, Lissa/Ricken, Gaius/Maribelle, Cordelia/Sumia, Vaike/Chrom, Inigo/Gerome, and Tharja/F Robin.

Henry/Olivia:

I feel like Henry absolutely employs the help of the crows to get Olivia under the mistletoe. The two of them are probably just having a nice winter’s dinner together when one of the crows flies over to land on Henry’s head. Olivia can’t help but smile and coo at it, laughing at how much the crows love Henry and how close they are to him. It’s only once Henry points out that there’s something in the crow’s mouth that Olivia clues into what’s actually happening. She blushes and asks Henry if he’s sure, to which he responds that he is, and that he wanted to do this in privacy for the sake of her shyness. Olivia is touched, and agrees to a nice kiss between the two of them. Henry is very gentle and careful with her, and he cannot help but appreciate the way she seems to melt into his embrace.

Tiki/Say’ri:

I feel like Tiki is oblivious to some of this mistletoe romantic stuff because she was just like, asleep for most of its establishment? So it’s Say’ri who has to bring it up to her once they accidentally get caught under the mistletoe. She’s quite flustered about the whole thing, insisting to the voice of Naga that she needn’t do anything she isn’t comfortable with, but of course Tiki believes that they shouldn’t shirk tradition. She closes her eyes and puckers up ever so slightly, so Say’ri cannot help but complete the link between them, surprised at how her heart seems to flutter when she meets with Tiki. Heat spreads through her chest, and she can’t help but snake an arm across Tiki’s waist and pull her in closer — something the manakete doesn’t seem to mind.

Lissa/Ricken:

Ricken’s probably the one that does the planning, but I can’t say that I feel as if he would do much with extravagance. He’d probably just hide the mistletoe in his robes until he had a private moment with Lissa, and then, when the two of them are alone, he starts talking about how pretty she is with the fallen snow in her hair, and asks her if she would do him in the honour of sharing a mistletoe kiss. Lissa laughs, insisting that she didn’t know that Ricken was such a sap. Still, she is more than willing to oblige the kiss, happy that her boyfriend is so romantic. The kiss is probably one of those sweet, innocent ones so commonly affiliated with puppy love, and maybe not the most skilful, but it’s happy and it’s sweet, and absolutely a smooth move that Ricken will brag about for years after.

Maribelle/Gaius:

I feel like when these two get their moment, it’s through the making of a candy-mistletoe. Maribelle has it made specially to ensure that she gets one — although she’d never admit it, because she’s a lady. But she got them made, and presents them to Gaius as apart of a dessert plate. He notices them right off the bat, a smirk creeping across his face as he asks his precious Twinkles if she planned this. She insists that she doesn’t know what he is talking about, but he is more than willing to tease her about wanting some sugar herself. Maribelle rolls her eyes, but cannot help but smile as Gaius pulls her in for a passionate, romantic kiss that lasts more than just a few minutes.

Cordelia/Sumia:

Sumia and Cordelia probably get caught under the mistletoe during an attempted play that Cordelia makes for Chrom. She hangs up mistletoe around a few different places in camp, hoping that maybe, just maybe, she’ll be in the right place at the right time to get it done. Sumia, on the other hand, is just curious about what her friend is up to. Which, of course, lands her right under the mistletoe. Naturally she and Cordelia blush, with the red headed pegasus knight insisting that she needn’t do anything. Sumia decides to kiss her cheek instead, but finds even that embarrassing, promptly apologizing and running off… Cordelia can’t help but wonder what all that was about, knowing in the back of her mind that something about Sumia’s lips on her cheeks felt… different. Did she still want that one with Chrom on the lips? … Somehow, it was hard to know anymore.

Vaike/Chrom:

Vaike probably got Chrom into a romantic position for mistletoe kisses via a challenge of some kind. I could honestly seem him doing it as a plain old sparring match, but maybe he could do a test of wits instead. He’d have a series of questions asked, ones that would all be catered towards his own knowledge, and of course Chrom is rolling his eyes the whole time. Eventually, they get to the million-dollar question, the one that will make the person who answers it the automatic winner. The question? “What is the tradition associated with mistletoe?”

Chrom answers it quickly and wins, and is then told by Vaike that he gets his prize… and then of course, he has to pucker up. Chrom rolls his eyes again, shaking his head.

“I should’ve known with you, Vaike,” he almost laughs as he leans in.

Gerome/Inigo:

Gerome is too cool for mistletoe kisses. Inigo is too embarrassed. What do you get when this happens? Spontaneity. Inigo has stopped by to chat with Gerome for a minute as he’s tending to Minerva, when suddenly they notice that she’s got something in her mouth. When Gerome asks to see what she has, the wyvern proudly sits up and shows them that she’s got some mistletoe, and she’s dangling it above their heads. Inigo is shocked, and Gerome can barely form words, but their desire to refuse the call of tradition makes Minerva grumpy, so they figure they’d better go through with it just to keep her happy. The kiss is awkward and stiff — just what you’d expect from these dweebs — but not altogether bad. Although they agree to not talk about it again for awhile after… but they will. It sparks some feelings, after all.

F Robin/Tharja:

Tharja will act like she does not care about being caught under the mistletoe with Robin. She cares immensely. Robin knows this, so she pretends to call her for a second pair of eyes on her battle pans for the next meeting. Then, as Tharja is looking them over, she smiles and points at the mistletoe. A dark, almost creepy smirk crosses the mage’s face, but Robin knows her girl well enough to know that this is her being happy, so she can do nothing more than lean and a plant a big, loving kiss on her. Tharja lets out a surprisingly cute giggle as she reciprocates, tangling her fingers in Robin’s hair and jokingly tugging on one of her pigtails.

If awakening ever gets a remake, I think certain characters should get a time skip design up date. Like Lissa, Ricken, and Donnel, would all go from 15 16ish to 17 18ish, they should visibly age.

Plans For Version 7

With the addition of Lissa/Tharja in version 6, I’ve decided to set my next goal on creating the ‘expanded’ version of the mod. This will involve me first combing through the support options to make sure everything is consistent, so hopefully this will take care of all the remaining mismatched support speeds. While I do this, I will be hosting a google form for you all to fill out regarding Lissa, Donnel, and Ricken's S support options, which you can find HERE.

If looking for suggestions on which supports to work on for this update, I would check and see if those three characters have any supports that haven’t been coded, regardless of whether or not they would be restricted to the expanded version. I know they don’t have much written, but any of the writers out there are free to fix that! The submission box is always open, and I encourage you to join the Discord, where you can find a writing support channel to help you with ideas and feedback!

you know what would be sick? the fire emblem awakening remaster giving its characters timeskip designs reflective of the passing of like, 2 years between chroms coronation and the conflict with walhart. nothing drastic cos its only 2 years, but reflective of some of their changed positions/roles in life. chrom having to appear a bit more regal now hes king and not at war. robin changing out of those old clothes they found them passed out in the mud in PLEASE. maybe some haircuts. at the very least lissa, ricken, donnel etc should look like theyre about to be adults and not like. 15/16 year olds anymore.

What are your favorite ships from Fire Emblem Awakening? Outside from Chrobin, you seem to like: Vaike x Lissa, Henry x Olivia and Frederick x Sumia. I am currently writing a fanfic about the Shepherds and their life's (During, After, and Before the Plegian war) and some of your videos had somewhat been inspiration on how the character's interact with each other. I was hoping if you could give me some insight.

Gladly! Most of my reasoning are going to be from my own messed up headcanon world and because i am a lunatic, i am going to name like 25% of the Awakening cast because I use like 20 units (most of them being child units and dlc) and never switch them out. So im prolly not gonna be much help

Chrom x Robin - Chrobin had always been my favorite, because of the whole Romeo and Juilet thing goin on with Chrom's Exalt blood and Robin with Grima's blood. Plus i imagine that their kids are the strongest in the whole game due to their genetics. I also imagine Robin is the one who REALLY wears the pants in the relationship (even tho Chrom doesn't want to admit it) But I love the image of the royal family being probably the weirdest bunch out of the entire Ylissean Royal bloodline. With Chrom being a man who can't stop breaking things with his immense strength and doesn't think about things all the way, Robin being the technically only smart and logical one, but still doesn't know how to be a proper royal (neither does anyone else in the family), Lucina is smart yeah, but not with common sense. And Morgan is gifted with Robin's intelligence, but somehow manages it to only put it to making traps and finding ways to use Falchion as anything else but a sword.

Frederick x Sumia - Frederick is a perfectionist that married a complete clutz. And Frederick was a complete sweetheart during their conversations. He was so patient with her and never gave her a hard time for her mistakes. Plus Cynthia is practically Sumia who is hyped up on coffee 24/7. So for Frederick to have to deal with his chaotic family everyday, is not only wholesome, but hilarious.

Vaike x Lissa - Vaike was willing to discard his rivalry with Chrom to make Lissa happy when he proposed to her. And he respected her and Chrom for being a royal and not having a boujee attitude. And he said Lissa was "beautiful as a goddess" Plus a big bonus for this ship is that Vaike's and Chrom's rivalry seemed to be passed down to Owain and Morgan

Maribelle x Ricken - I love the fact that both of them are Ylissean nobles and Ricken always tries to prove himself to others that he is not a child but he also wants to restore his house to it's former glory. But a cool little parallel to Ricken and Maribelles relationship is that Maribelle did the same thing to Ricken what she does to Lissa, when Ricken saved her from Gangrel. She became overprotective and tried to get him out of the shepherds in an attempt to protect him

Lon'qu x Cherche - Cherche (being the best girl as always) is the one (out of two) who lifted the burden off of Lon'qu about Ke'ri. Gerome being Lon'qu kid kinda makes sense too. I imagine Gerome is a big loner compared to the rest of the Future Shepherds.

Stahl x Cordelia - This is purely because i think Stahl and Cordelia are neat and Cordelia was the first girl i S-supported when i first got the game 10 years ago. And because im a fool, i figured to put two of my favorite people together. But i will say this tho, Severa with Stahl's hair color is not bad

Henry x Olivia - I feel like this is probably the most chaotic family outta all my favorite ships. Henry is just a lovable killing machine. Olivia is an adorable crit/killing machine. And the stats they give Inigo aint too bad neither. Henry's and Olivia's C support made me fall in love with Henry's character. But Im going to ignore the copy-paste supports with Henry getting mad at Inigo in the B support because its somewhat out of character. But i feel like both Henry and Olivia are always compassionate to their son. Olivia is the tender one, who showers Inigo with love and affection and Henry is the one who always makes sure Inigo never loses his smile. (And completely unrelated to the ship by Inigo having Plegian blood is kinda cool because i ship him with Lucina and she too has Plegian blood, soooo.... yea)

Those are pretty much it. Everyone else is either because i dont use them or they dont have supports other than Robin

FE Awakening AU; White Sheep House

After the sneakpeak I posted a few days ago, I went and changed some things.

1. Severa's last name. Taimo is Cordelia's JP name (big shocker), but I didn't really like the idea the more I thought of it. So I gave her another last name and instead of von like everyone else, she gets a middle name.

2. Owain's father. The more I thought of it, the more I realized there's no way Vaike is nobility. I went with RIcken because he's the only member left that could pass as nobility. Lissa marrying a commoner would be quite the problem lol.

And now without further ado, let me ramble on about this little AU I constructed in the depths of my brain.

The Halidom of Ylisse is one of the 4 major countries in the Region of Ylisse; one of the 2 great continents. The Halidom thus has a house representing them: The White Sheep. The house values honor, strength, compassion and skill above all else. Chrom and his to-be-friends all attended the Officer's Academy in their younger days and formed The Shepherds. The Halidom was once the Great Kingdom of Altea, with the Hero King Marth at it's forefront. 800 years has passed since then and the land has known drastic change.

bit more background; the timeline isn't the same as the OG. Emmryn died when Plegia invaded one day, storming the castle town and claiming her head. Chrom then ascended the throne after driving out the invaders. The children did not go back in time. The invasion was caused by a power struggle between the Grimeal and Gangrel, 20 years before current day. A truce was settled between Gangrel and Chrom after he got rid of a few annoying Grimeal, although this was never publicly disclosed.

Now about the Crests, I can't just make them up and not list their abilities so here we go

Exalt; May heal half of the damage dealt to the enemy to the user. (If damage to enemy is 30, dealer heals 15)

Themis; May conserve a use of healing magic.

Burton: May raise the magic Mt of an attack by 30%

Florence: May increase Mt by half when using Combat Arts.

Taguel: Allows the bearer to transform into a beast form

i think one of the many reasons i love the golden deer so much is that they feel like the shepherds 2

you got the brilliant tactician mastermind whos strategies are really fun and unique making for great so many moments (robin/claude)

pigtails, has some cutscene relevance despite not being the main character, and big axe (lissa/hilda)

you got the snooty lovable noble who eventually really means their best but theyve grown up in nobility all their life they dont know how to show it well (maribelle/lorenz)

...however you also have a noble that is trying to flirt with everyone but has no rizz (virion/lorenz)

good with animals but quite clumsy (sumia/marianne)

the studious mage who doesnt really wanna be bothered (miriel/lysithea)

..but also a mage who's young but hates to be treated like a kid (ricken/lysithea)

guy who is just here to eat cheeseburger (stahl/raphael)

really really cool women (sully/leonie)

and our protagonist who stands alongside the tactician and they definitely kissed said tactician (chrom/byleth)

Expanded Support Results

After reviewing the results of this poll, I've solidified the support options for Lissa/Ricken/Donnel. First and foremost, you all decided that the MAIN DOWNLOAD should be the one with the expanded options. The download with UV's restrictions will still be available as an optional download if you would prefer to use that! I will not be maintaining the UV version after I put out the next update.

More importantly, here's what you're actually here for! Mostly self-explanatory, Platonic unless written means I'll keep the option at A support until an appropriate S is written. Whether or not the non-romantic options will have platonic or no support at all is up to my discretion.
