Sun going down on Dublin Bay??? by National Library of Ireland on The Commons Via Flickr: I know, I know! If you look down the Liffey from the Loop Bridge then you should be looking due East but the shadow on the ship to the right looks, to me, like those from a setting sun? We haven't visited the lovely Elinor Wiltshire for some time and this shot of the river and shipping from beneath the Loop Bridge is a great reminder of how she saved such memories for us! can you believe this is the first time ive managed to draw a fullbody loop whos standing up.

i can finally express my headcanon-- not that loop has body horror inbuilt perma-heels-- but that they've just got perpetual barbie foot. they just got too used to wearing their little bootsies. a real "hey dude do you like, want shoes or something?" type stance. i dont even think its a concious choice i think if you pointed it out they'd get embarrased.

Thinking hard about glinda’s “no one searched for her harder than you” / and fiyero trying to convince her to run vs being the one to tell elphaba she can never know.

Because Galinda spent the intermission trying to stop fiyero from sacrificing himself, and she failed. Only for fiyero, who spent just as long trying to get her to leave with him, to succeed in stopping her from getting the same fate when she would rather have died.

It wouldn't even be death either, but on her side she will die alone fulfilling a promise she made before hearing elphaba die just as she did fiyero. Probably not even a full 24 hours apart too.

Tragedies are magical.

Describing his aims in Manhattan Bridge Loop, Hopper explained that the painting’s horizontal composition was an attempt to give “a sensation of great lateral extent” and bring attention to the cityscape beyond the frame; “I just never cared for the vertical,” he later quipped. His depictions of the wide spans of the city’s bridges, its industrial landscapes, and its low-slung buildings elevate the quotidian and prosaic over the iconic, offering a powerful counterpoint to the awe-inspiring views of the New York skyline celebrated in the news and in works by many of his contemporaries. Alfred H. Barr observed of Hopper’s work in 1933: “His indifference to skyscrapers is remarkable in a painter of New York architecture.”

“So, your brother started a civil war against you because he wants to reclaim Lux Aurea?” Astrid checked, gesturing as she did.

“Yes.” Janai confirmed, hauling Embertail’s saddle onto his back. She grunted as the weight was relieved and leaned down to tighten the girth.

Astrid nodded unsurely. She wasn’t at all like this with Kosmo. “So he’s helping…why? Sorry, I don’t mean to be—”

“You’re fine,” Janai interrupted politely, rubbing Embertail’s snout. “He’s helping because it’s his only chance to stay alive.”

Astrid made an “O” shape with her mouth in understanding, bowing her head. Her wings fluffed up nervously as Karim approached.

Gren of all people was his escort. It was rare to see Gren angry or stone-faced, but the expression he wore had to have come from Karim saying something to him earlier. “Get on.” He motioned to Embertail.

Karim looked as though he were about to protest, but Astrid snapped her left wing open, pointing it at the Hotcat. Karim sneered at her, shoving past her and stepping towards Embertail.

Embertail’s ears pinned back and his tails swivelled. His head lowered dangerously, throat emanating a threatening gargle. A warning. His wings flared out nervously behind him and he shifted uneasily, whining and pushing his face into Janai’s midriff.

She made a rhythmic clicking sound, kneeling down to be face level with him. “Deorsum, Embertail. Deorsum nunc.” But Embertail didn’t back down, instead he shook his head violently and flapped his wings in distress.

Astrid felt for the Hotcat, face scrunching in sympathy. She gently approached him, holding a hand out. Embertail lurched forward in his panic, skidding to a halt a breath away from Astrid’s face. He panted, stressed, but the calm he felt thrust upon him was almost instant when he took a whiff of the Skywing in front of him. “Tu es tutum.”

It seemed to work, and even though there was still initial struggle on Embertail’s part, Karim was able to mount him with Janai as well. Astrid soothed him in Draconic, sat cross-legged on the ground and running her fingers through his mane, caressing his nose every time he rumbled wearily.

Astrid kissed the bridge between the Hotcat’s gentle eyes. “I’ll give you cuddles when we get back.” She promised, and Embertail purred.
