The way he looks at her when he says it, too; tries to make himself both nonthreatening to not invoke her ire or suspicion, yet aware enough to convey he can still competently complete his side of their agreement (along with a bit of pettiness, wanting to believe he has more control of the situation and not wanting to let it seem like she can pull a fast one on him. Knowing what's to come in less than 48 hours is heartbreaking), all while having the most subtle sad and tired tinge to his eyes and subdued grin to mask it.

LISTEN. the Water 7 Saga absolutely rewired the way I understood the crew and how each member views themselves and the roles they play. And it’s been some time since the Strawhat’s exploration of the New World has allowed them to really take time and consider themselves and each other like that again.

And Elbaf just sounds (MUAH) like such a wonderful opportunity to do exactly that, it sounds perfect, primarily in the way it ties all the way back to the Strawhat’s early days on the Grand Line. And when you look at the presence of the Giant Pirates in Little Garden and Enies Lobby, what they share is that both times the Giants Served the purpose mirroring the conflicts between the crewmates and highlighting the importance of loyalty and comradery. Shit writes itself. Come on Elbaf don’t let me down. Come on Usopp I know you can hit us with another world shattering arc just take the stage love.

Reward for Loyalty || Closed

The first thing Sevika heard was the beep of a heart monitor somewhere nearby. Slowly other sounds began to filter in as well as other sensations. There was some other machinery in the room other than the heart monitor which meant she hadn't been taken to one of the shitty little clinics she was familiar with in the Lanes. Heh, probably why she was still alive.

Memories of the events in the Cannery played through her mind. Being chosen to accompany Silco as one of his guards, watching Vander's brats think they were so clever getting in. Vi hadn't been a bad fighter at least. Still rough around the edges but not bad. Then came the explosion. Sevika hadn't had time to think. Her job was to protect Silco so that's what she did, shoving him out of the doorway and putting herself in the line of fire.

After that it was blinding pain and blackness. Sevika assumed that she had been carried out to wherever this was for treatment. Well, at least if she wasn't dead then it meant there was a good chance Silco had survived as well. Heh, and her old man said there was no job security in this kind of work.

Well, she could only stay down so long. She had likely already been out for long enough. She tried to sit up only to realize that only one of her arms was responding. She still managed to sit up before looking over at where her left arm should have been. Instead there was empty space connected to a bit of her upper arm and shoulder. Probably just enough left to attach a decent prosthetic to. Not that she had the money for that sort of thing. She'd have to make due without an arm it seemed. She wouldn't let it stop her from doing her job but it would make things significantly more difficult for the foreseeable future.

She was pulled out of these thoughts and plans by the door to the small room she was in opening to reveal her boss. Silco. Come to visit her it seemed.

Wild when you realize that a 1-year-old warrior actually has two entire seasons they've never handled alone. A kit for 6 months spends most of their time in camp and an apprentice trains over the next 6.

A warrior can train over spring and summer and not actually know how to hunt in snow. A warrior who's used to being extra careful in frost could lose prey for being too slow.

This is why it should be a rule that a cat can't have an apprentice until they're 2 years old, tbh. Has been a full warrior for 1 full year... even then, 3 is a much more reasonable age.

Archer is a starving doggie he is so starved and desperate his eyes go wide and his mouth starts watering at the mention of his boss' ankles. Also when Giovanni just like waves his hand a little, Archer practically starts shaking cos his brain goes 'PAT??? ME??? A GOOD BOY???' (it's never a pat) please he wants his boss so bad he's doing such a good job please look at him

He is properly taken care of but Archer can't help but be a bit too greedy, even considering he is in Team Rocket. That seems only fitting though, don't you think? :D

He thinks he hides his hunger well when Giovanni crosses his legs and Archer can feel an itch at his teeth when he sees boss' ankles and a tiny bit of calves, or at least he thinks he does (He does, for most of people, and Giovanni isn't one of those hehe)

(Maybe Giovanni will let him have a bite later, as a treat) (Or maybe never)

On that note, Giovanni's line of "I'm expecting great things from you, Archer" from Pokemas is definitely something he uses to push his doggie a bit further uwu "It's never a pat" I feel like you are implying something a bit more sinister and I am enjoying that thought :3
