Lost Relatives

Maddie Fenton is Iris West's sister, the two lost communication after Maddie focused on her inventions; Hoping to reconnect with her sister, Iris invites her to her wedding.

When the Fentons show up at the wedding, the only way Barry can describe them is...eccentric. He didn't expect his bride-to-be's family to be so quirky, though he didn't mind Iris's request, he hoped they could reconnect.

That was until he was near Danny Fenton and felt the Speedforce lean toward him. Almost as if it was calling out to him. Danny looked at Barry curiously but didn't comment on it. Barry wondered if there was a flaw in the Speedforce.

Danny had a bad feeling about the wedding ever since he saw Clockwork grinning like a maniac after he mentioned the event to him.

He clearly didn't expect to find the "criminals who keep altering space-time" that Clockwork kept complaining about. He wondered if he could feign ignorance until the end of the event.

Some of the ghosts flinched, straightened, or showed other signs of surprise when he greeted them.  The woman from before, the one with braids, pushed her way to the front and gestured at him, presenting him to the other ghosts.  

But none of them said anything, or made any other sound, much less started to explain anything to Danny.  

“So,” said Danny.  “Why are you all here?  Why are there so many of you?”

The ghosts looked at him.  They did a lot of that, didn’t they?

Finally, the woman with braids stepped forward and tapped her throat three times.  Deliberately, maintaining eye contact, she shook her head.  

“You can’t speak?  None of you?”

The woman nodded, the rest of the ghosts following suit.  

“Could you maybe… try?”  He winced.  “I mean, you usually can’t be seen, right?  Maybe I’ll be able to hear you, too.”

The woman sighed, exasperation exaggeratedly clear on her face.  She opened her mouth and closed it several times, her lips forming the shape of words.  

“Okay,” said Danny.  “I guess not.  Maybe you could write something?”

The woman pointedly swiped her hand through the kitchen counter.  

“I could hold a pen and you could move my hand?” suggested Danny, miming the action, one hand ‘holding a pen,’ the other ‘holding paper.’  He didn’t really want to do something like that.  Not for very long, anyway, but it would be better than mime.  

The woman took a few quick steps forward, and put her hands on top of his.  She paused for a moment, and looked up at him, clearly surprised.  Then, she pushed down.  Danny couldn’t feel it at all.  

“Sign language?”

The woman raised an eyebrow. 

“Alright, I don’t know sign language, either,” admitted Danny, defeated.  Even if he did and they did, the ghosts here probably wouldn’t have used American Sign Language.  Or even, necessarily, a living sign language.  “Charades it is.  If you can tell me why you’re all here, I’ll try to figure out a way to help you out.”

Assuming, that was, that what they were here for wasn’t murder and mayhem.  Then, the only thing that Danny would be helping them out of was the living world.  Not in the sense that he was going to kill them, but in the sense that he’d be sending them back to the Ghost Zone.  Somehow.  All several hundred of them.  Across an ocean from where the portal was.  

At least he had the thermos?

The woman gave him a small smile.  It was probably reading too much into it to interpret it as hopeful.  

She turned away, and made a separating motion with her hands.  The ghosts cleared a path, and she led Danny through it, to a door.  Danny followed, a touch of ectoplasm tingling his fingertips, just in case.  

The door led to a large, formal dining room.  There were pictures on the wall, family pictures.  Danny felt his breath catch in his throat as he saw one with him and Jasmine in it, sitting among the rest of the ‘kids’ of the family.  Vivian, Lewis, Leo, Iris, George, and Eugene.  He remembered Martin taking that picture, just a couple years ago. 

He looked around at the rest of the pictures.  There was one Fenton family portrait after that, and a few scattered photos of Maddie and Alicia from when they were younger.  Of the others, most of the others were of Martin’s immediate family.  His parents, Theodore and Cathrine.  His brother, William.  His sister-in-law, Sophia.  His nieces and nephews, Vivian, Lewis, and Leo.  The rest were of Danny’s other cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, great grandparents.  All of them in casual clothing, in casual settings.  

It… hurt.  Martin must have done the decorating, or at least decided which pictures would be included.  

Danny couldn’t believe he was dead.  

The ghost woman flitted from picture to picture, pointing at people in them.  Martin, William, Theodore, Isabella, Alfred–

“Something about the– my– the people who died,” said Danny.  The woman nodded sharply.  “Did you–  Do you know what killed them?  Do you know why?”

The woman raised a hand and tilted it back and forth.  

“Kind of.”

She shrugged.  

“So, you know what killed them?”

Another hand wiggle.  

“You know why they were killed?”

A sharp nod.  

“Was it murder?”

The ghosts around them bared their teeth in a dozen silent snarls.  Danny understood the impulse.  

The woman nodded.  

Well, it wasn’t as if Danny hadn’t expected it, but the information came as a blow.  He let himself close his eyes for a moment to regather himself, a necessary habit when strong anger made your eyes glow green.  

Someone was trying to kill his family.  Someone had killed his family.  

Well.  Turnabout was fair play.  

“Do you know who did it?” Danny asked.  

The woman nodded, then touched her mouth and shook her head, then shrugged.  

“You know, but you don’t know how to tell me?”

The woman tilted her hand from side to side again.  Kind of.  

“Okay, maybe I can just go through letters, and you can tell me when to–”

The woman was shaking her head vigorously.  She held her hand up, fingers splayed, and then brought them together.  Then, she held up both hands and lowered and raised her fingers several times.  

Danny glared at her hands, stumped and frustrated.  She repeated the motion, then threw back her head in a display of frustration that echoed what Danny was feeling.  She strode over to the other ghosts and gathered up a group of them.  She made an open-handed motion at them, then another as if lassoing them together, then that earlier motion, of raising and lowering fingers.  

“There’s more than one.  It’s a group.”

The woman snapped her fingers - there was no sound, of course - and nodded.  

“But do you know who they are?”

Shuffling.  Some nods, some shrugs, some shaken heads.  

“Could you point them out to me?” asked Danny.  

The woman shrugged.  

Danny pulled a chair out from the dining room table and sat down.  “Do you at least know some of them?”

Nods.

“Okay, I can work with that,” said Danny.  “But… why are all of you here?  Were you killed by these same guys?”

The woman laughed, soundlessly, pointed at herself, and shook her head.  A moment later, her clothing rippled, shifting from something fairly modern to something a viking woman might have worn.  A long smock dress with a strap dress over it, a belt, a cloak, and brooches and beads tying it all together.  Golden clasps glittered in her hair.  

She looked familiar like this.  Like someone Danny had seen in a picture somewhere, once.  He frowned trying to think of where, and only stopped when he noticed her frowning back at him.  

“Sorry,” he said.  “Just thinking about about something.  So… You’ve been around for a while?  Viking times?”

The woman made the ‘kind of’ signal again.  

“Can you - Do you know the year?  I know the calendars changed, but…”

The woman held up nine fingers, then three, then two, then signed ‘kind of’ again.  

“That’s a long time,” said Danny.  “But, then what do you get out of this?  What do any of you get out of this?”

The woman walked across the room, straight through the table, and pointed at another picture.  It was of a young William and Sophia sitting on a picnic blanket in the middle of a flowery field, but Kyr Argyn was clearly visible in the background, and that was what the woman was pointing at.

“Under the castle… is it related to what happened to my grandparents?  Or are you buried there or something?”

The woman froze, then nodded, once, twice.

“Is it… for you, specifically, just that you saw… whatever happened to my grandfather?  To Prince Leon?”  That didn’t explain all the other ghosts, or why they were ghosts in the first place, but it would make sense as a motivation for the woman.  If someone had been murdered on top of his grave, he’d want to do something about it, too.

The woman’s face twisted up, as if she were trying to figure out what, exactly, to say, and how to say it, but then all the ghosts went stiff and turned to face the door.  Danny felt it, too.  An approach.  A newness.  Mist dribbled sluggishly from his lips.  

He stood, turning as he did so to face the dining room door.  Vivian was standing there, her face pale.  Right next to her, on the wall near the door, was a photo of her, and it struck Danny that she was dressed just like she was in the photo - business casual, large colorful barrettes, the lesser seal and key on the bracelet on her wrist.  

The expression she wore now couldn’t be more different, though.  In the photograph, Vivian was laughing.  Here, in the dining room, her face was twisted with despair.  

Danny saw her mouth the words oh, ancestors, but she didn’t say anything out loud.  She couldn’t.  

After all, Vivian was quite dead.

Okay, Carlos you are complaining about TK putting off the 'what are we' talk with all his little silly topics, but you were the one sitting there listening to them! And I bet you loved it! Getting all smiley listening to him talk about Brad Pitt. I see straight through you Reyes.

"The elephant in the juice bar" this line actually makes me cringe. And almost nothing makes me cringe.

No, no. It's fine, TK. I'm fine. Look I'm even paying for your boba. It isn't the end of the world. Me? Devastated? Nahhhh. I don't feel like my only chance at the love I've always dreamed of is passing me by. That would be ~crazy~. I only barely cried at your bedside in the hospital.

Michelle answering her cell phone in the used gloves she has on.... girl. Also... did she take the one on her left hand off by pulling on the fingers? Michelle, Michelle, Michelle.

I love them all going upstairs after Owen disrespects the espresso machine. They all just immediately know something is wrong.

Everyone agreeing that TK has to come to his decision about his career on his own and no one else can tell him what he should do and Judd immediately cutting in with, "want me to talk to him?" Hilarious.

I do like that we see evidence of Judd's lingering anxiety about losing members of his team again. Like not wanting Owen to go up in the plane to rescue the man with sclerosis. And it comes up again with Tommy late in season 4. And I know there are other examples.

Just seeing how TK is with the bus driver and everything he does for her, like giving her mouth to mouth while's she's underwater--it's just so clear he's meant to be a paramedic.

HE'S AN IMPRESSIVE GUY. HE'S MY SON.

Michelle finds Iris. Still do not really have an investment in this storyline. But happy to see Iris! And she mentions Carlos is a very familiar, friend-like way. So that's a win!

So I like the space station call a lot, obviously. It's incredibly heart-breaking. And very well acted and a great moment for Grace. But... and I don't know how to explain this exactly. But something about it feels like it belongs in OG 911, not lone star. And I really have no reasons I can give for why I feel that way. But everything about this feels like a call Maddie would be dealing with.

Owen was very right that TK looked like he was about to jump off a cliff (CUZ HE WAS) (METAPHORICALLY)

My dad. My captain. Again, could write an entire thesis about when he chooses one term over the other.

Do we think that Carlos knew what conversation TK was planning to have with the crew beforehand? And maybe he offered to come pick TK up afterwards?

I'm so ready to be rid of Michelle. "I found my sister... and then I lost her again...." Girl, are you being vague on purpose?? Just to piss me off???

Also was there supposed to be an extra episode in this season or something? Or is the Iris/Michelle storyline wrapped up in such a rushed way this ep just because they didn't know if they would get a season 2?

I do love the last little vignettes of this season. Judd and Grace, Marj Mateo and Paul, Owen and Buttercup, TK and Carlos, Michelle and Iris. And with the green sky!

This is Lucy, she is a Forest Elf from the Tree witch tribe joining Azalea's Church. She loves collecting shiny objects and treasure and is a bit of a kleptomaniac.

Hydrangea of the Iron witch Tribe. The Iron witches have a great relationship with the Goblin tribes of the Great Forest often swapping blacksmith techniques with each other. The secrets of communing with stars and the magic they grant is only known to the Iron witches and many go blind using this magic until they only see the stars.

Ninebark of the Tree witch tribe, she is one of the tribes foragers and spiritualists. She helps repair damage done to the forest and regularly travels to the other tribes of the Great Forest to trade or visit which are - the Iron witches, the poison witches, the Harpies and the Goblins. She can also commune with the forest spirits like slimes and fairies. I will not post the picture of her sister - Iris here, since I don't know the rules of this site, still it will be on the other platforms and stuff :) Iris is the restless Forest witches Shaman who passed on her knowledge to Lucy so she could uphold her duties instead of her, but she has no Idea where she ran off to.

Blacksmith Flint (Left) Knight Arkose (Middle) and Scout Marl (Left). The Goblins are known for their blacksmiths and skilled knights, and can vary wildly in their height and body shapes so many of their armors and clothing are custom made for each person and many goblins are taught how to make their own clothes and gear. A recent war was waged between the Kingdom of the Meadow Elves and the goblins. The goblins lost the war with many casualties on both sides and now many are prevented from entering major cities or settlements and many meadow elves hold hatred in their heart for their kind.

Hazel, a priestess in training who is obsessed with knowledge. She is great friends with Lucy, Maddie, and Mira. She has a fantastic memory and a bad habit of giving long winded and in depth explanations of why things are the way they are or why someone is wrong and is incredibly meticulous. She longs to become one of the Church's Librarians.

Maddie the Arrogant Prodigy, A Meadow Elf Tinkerer with other tinkerers helped further the advancements in technology in the capital city Westmourne. The city would eventually fall to Cultists and Maddie one of the few survivors would loose her right arm in the event and was rescued by the Church of Azalea. she would join later as an initiate but would also lose her passion.

Honeydew the Huntress. A Forest Elf of the Poison witch tribe who became a hunter for the Forest Harpy tribe and is best friends with the harpy Crowe. The poison elves are the most isolated of the tribes for the toxins they naturally produce. Honeydew learned to control her poisonous nature as to not harm other living beings with her presence. She loves hunting and is a fantastic tailor.

I will use this site a bit more but mostly so I can write stuff for my characters. I would love to make a game or webcomic or something, so writing this stuff is MOSTLY to help me remember and stuff :) Anxiety really controls me in a way that infuriates me to no end, but I hope posting this kind of stuff helps alleviate that a bit. I really am bad at talking to other people and just being awkward in general and it does help a bit that not too many people see my works but still It's nice people DO look at all. Drawing is fun and writing this background stuff for my characters is fun so I will always be trying to learn new stuff even if not too many people see my works (Not that I'm torn up about it, anxiety can't act up). Decided to go onto JumpStart and look at the old stories I had posted there back in 2014 and share them here

Shame that nothing new has been added to the stories and photos and jokes and questions page in a loooooong time, I hope someday they update that again since it was so much fun seeing what people made and it’d be great if the game got popular again

I love how I just gave up on rhyming in the end and just said “I woke up back home. The end”

(censored out my cousin’s name for privacy reasons) “Magic” was the name I gave my character when talking about her online since I didn’t want to call her my irl name online. Her name was my real life name but her name is now Iris. And yes, I am still working on this story concept but the characters have new names and designs. It was initially sort of a Toontown fanfiction but later became its own thing. 

Their names now:

Pixie Dust- Pixie Brooks, Big Books - Brianna Brooks, Crystal EyeJewel - Christine Gem, Fire Gem - Fiona Gem. Character with my cousin’s real name isn’t a character anymore and she was literally just my cousin but with magic powers, same with Magic who was just me with rainbow powers. Marissa’s name is likely Marissa Brooks now since she was Big Books’ cousin, but I haven’t written her into the current canon yet

For some reason for a while when new stories were added the endings got cut off, so this and several other stories I and other have made had the ending cut off and since this was almost ten years ago now I don’t remember what the intended ending was I don’t think we’ll ever know what the full story was, rip. I’m surprised the staff never tried to fix this, since MANY stories had gotten cut off. Also, “there” instead of “their” XP 

“she a” SHE A WHAT I WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING. I’m going to assume those 3 girls were in game friends of mine or maybe they were names I made up for the game, I don’t know.

another cut off ending, which is a shame since I remember really liking this one when I made it. Going to assume the last sentence was supposed to end with “the baby was going to be a girl” but I don’t know.

This was a side profile of mine where my character was a boy and his name was Blake Feather to match my main character Alexandra PinkFeather (my name prior to becoming Maddy SilverDreamer) but I changed his name to Steve SilverDiamond after the dreaded character design update since I wanted to turn him into Steve from Minecraft and I changed Maddy to Alex SilverDiamond and I tried giving them white eyes to be like Herobrine to rebel against the change. Several years later and those ugly and poorly optimized character models are still being used, but the game is pretty fun. Shame not many people play anymore, my favorite part was chatting and exploring with my friends.

I was REALLY proud of this one when I made it!!! Btw, Vanessa Bear was my cousin’s character. If only we had more text space when submitting stories, there were more details I had wanted to add but I ran out of room.

What??? Did the ending get cut off since last time I read this one? The ending was different and I KNOW the ending was there since I had read it multiple times, it was something about the two sisters becoming famous in their town and being called the Magic Gems and when people saw them they’d say “There goes the Magic Gems”. Maybe I’m mixing it up with one of the other stories I wrote that all had very similar plots.

Was the same story posted twice somehow but the endings changed? The people approving stories must have accidentally posted it twice with alterations to the ending. I know the staff sometimes altered parts of posted stories, like some lines were different in the golden flower story than how I originally wrote it. Weird.

eden x callie. two geniuses of my heart. i feel like. okay eden lives in the future in his book but like. he gets really sick when he’s little by a plague the government gave him and that leaves him almost blind. ten years after his brother basically overthrew the government and was the face of a revolution, they move and he becomes one of the best engineers and graduates early. he’s not big into activism activism but he could build things that would help callie’s cause. i think they would be great buds. i also think it’d be nice because them both trying to escape their families names and make names for themselves.

miller x kelly. i simply thing Best Friends. 

leoni x lydia. FRIENDS. ugh leoni my sunshine baby. they’re frequently referred to as a delight, sunshine, always optimistic etc. i just think lydia could use a good presence in her life who also believes that things will work out and she’ll be able to move past her trauma and live. where they won’t have to just get by!! and also just finding the Good Moments where they are and focusing on those.

The Casthur kids and their love interest. Also, new character reveal! I have to thank my sister for helping me name Darcy's werewolf hybrid wife! I didn't make a ref of Iris (Erika's love interest) because I didn't think it was necessary. Maddie needed her ref updated badly, and of course I had to do one for the new character. Yes, I'm working on the rewrites still. Turns out trying to fit three generations worth of stories is very time consuming...

How is your version of the Monster High movies different from the canon? Like, what’s your version of Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love, Escape From Skull Shores, Boo York, Scaris: City of Frights, Fright On, Ghouls Rule, Friday Night Frights, and 13 Wishes? I would LOVE to hear how you would rewrite them for your Reimagined series!! I also love how you have background characters like Invisi-Billy and Johnny become the main cast instead of just all girls. I also want to know what town Monster High is set in because they never said WHERE the movies take place.

Okay, this is gonna be a long one. Let's start with the name of the town near Monster High. Old Salem. Cuz the human town in Ghouls Rule is named New Salem. That's all I could come up with.

New kids at School.

A new School year at Monster High. We get to see the first month of school for new kids, Frankie, Gil and Abbey. We also get to see Invisi-Billy dealing with his new roommate Johnny Spirit.

So, last night, after some convincing by some party guests at the Red Iris Tavern in Ebonhawke, Aurelia returned to Divinity’s reach and reunited with Luciano and their parents after ten-odd years of them believing she was dead. It came as a shock to the three of them, sure, but thankfully they welcomed her back with open arms instead of getting mad at her for not contacting them sooner. What’s more, her parents welcomed Aurie’s wife, Lupa, to the family.

Luci was so excited, he pretty much contacted his best friend and girlfriend right away all “HOLY FUCKING SHIT GUYS YOU WILL NEVER GUESS WHAT JUST HAPPENED!” Lius was happy for him, and Maddie… well, Maddie already knew, as did Ophelia. They’d just kept it under wraps as Aurie wasn’t ready to reveal herself just yet.

Ophie knew Aurie would reveal herself in time, once she’d built up the courage to do so, so when she contacted her via QDC, telling her she was ready and on her way to the Asura Gate to DR? She knew she had to act fast. She called Luci over from his office work, telling him and her parents that she had something important to tell them, calling a family meeting in the mansion’s foyer. She had gathered everyone there and was just about to admit her secrecy on her sister’s behalf, when they heard a knock at the door. Luciano, Gods bless him, was the one to answer, as much as Ophie had wanted to get to the door first. Damn clones, too quick.

Their parents were stunned, as they had every right to be, but once they’d partially recovered from the shock, their father, Basilio, was the one to suggest celebration. And celebrate they did, Hoelbrak style, as per Lupa and Aurie’s recommendations. It was definitely a new experience for Mr. and Mrs. di Angelo, having never been to a Moot, but they had their own little mini-Moot that night. Drinks were drunk, food was feasted on, games were played and joy was had by all.

Aurelia, by the end of the night, was kicking herself for not revealing herself right away. How could she have been so afraid? It seemed so silly now, her hesitancy. She had to thank those that had spoken to her, convinced her to go through with it.

As short as the weeklong stay would be, she was finally home.

Polyamory CAN work (long post)

As a black, queer woman who could very well be poly, I am always looking for content to feed my soul and have for a few years now. I know I grumble about white/het couples a lot which makes me sound some kind of way but I ship a ton of white couples, that isn’t the problem. It’s the way representation is stepped on these days with toxic white couples being seen as true love that upsets me. And this is coming from a chick that lowkey ships Reylo.

I don’t understand and never will why writers in 2020 think that the only demographic there is are the people who can’t handle seeing anything but a white male and a white female be together. Interracial relationships CAN and DO work and f/f or m/m relationships or any race CAN work, so guess what, so can relationships involving three or more people and while difficult, it can work, even if the people are different races.

My annoyance also stems from Poly woman really getting shat on when writers hit a wall. Very few times have I seen it work out and that’s so stupid to me because she shouldnt’ have to choose.

I start with Wynonna Earp, a CLEARLY Poly woman with a strong sexual appetite that never gets shamed. She loved both Dolls and Doc and though Shamier left the show effectively forcing her to Doc, they still made it clear that she was poly and capable of having feelings for more than one man when they brought in Charlie. He was patient and sweet and while all three men wanted Wynonna to themselves, they NEVER gave her an ultimatum and even while PREGNANT WITH ANOTHER MAN’S BABY  Dolls still loved her and held her in bed. I believe that had Shamier (Dolls)  not left that they would have went on waiting for her to choose but also letting her know that she didn’t have to.

Then there’s my first real Poly stan, Bo Dennis from Lost Girl. Unapologetically bisexual and poly, Bo was in control at all times, both of her relationships and her sexuality. While she needed sex to feed like a vampire needs blood,she also enjoyed it and didn’t view it as a curse or burden and her partners were alwasy consenting, which was amazing. Lauren never shamed Bo (in fact she praised her sexuality and wished she could keep up) for liking men (thus not being toxic to bi women, which is an issue in the community I wont get into) and Dyson, Bo’s male lover never pressured her to submit to him. Here she is pictured with Tamsin, Dyson and Lauren, all her lovers, at once.

If all three of them can be respectful and understanding while each of them were with Bo alone, not a quad, then why do they make it seem so hard to have three people love each other? And yes, I know that couples break up, but on Tv they just dont need to when it’s what a show is based on.

I could go on about Bo all day but I will move on to one of my favorite movies: Prof. Marsden and the Wonder Women.

Now real or not this story had everything. It showed how slowly and steadily they grew to love each other, the highs and lows and the shame of the community that made them all stronger together. Was there jealousy at times, yeas, but they addressed it and learned that they didnt’ need to be and that they could all be together happily and that it could be easy to be in love with more than one person. Sure, it was the 40s but in this day and age it’s nothing to hide, and if they could have a happily ever after back then, why couldn’t it happen now? 

Could it be because of race? Without kidding ourselves, we know that every fandom is capable of being toxic and that it’s just fact that the black girl is often hated. I call it the Iris West treatment, where the clear canon couple is hated and the black girl is trashed for the white option. I quit Supergirl after Season 2 but I hear that Jimmy’s sister is getting said treatment now from a friend that still watches and I am not surprised.  You can’t force an actor to stay on a show and I get that having their ship destroyed build animosity, but I really can’t help but feel like had the other girl been white it wouldn’t have been such a huge issue. A Stefan vs Damon issue none the less, but still, less so. I say that because I have seen actual people defend Mon El in that fandom but saying “what’s wrong with owning slaves?” NUff said. 

Another reason I bring up why it could be race is because of You, Me, Her.

I really enjoy this show and will be sad to see it and and while I recommend it, there are flaws, but none of these flaws seems to be that the three of them can’t work past it and get back together. 

Emma and Jack are married, Izzy comes in and shakes up their world and they both fall ass over elbows in love with her and her with them. They go through the usual things:jealousy, favoritism, hiding their relationship then coming out, but they always work through it. When Jack leaves to date an ex, he comes back. When Emma leaves to date and ex, she comes back. When Jack and Emma think about moving away and Izzy doesn’t want to, they come back. When Izzy has a thing with a co-worker, she still chooses Jack and Emma because they know they all need and love each other. They even have babies together! Izzy sees the sonogram and her heart stops. She realizes that she is going to be their actual mom and they all get married and even look into tri custody because they know they are a family and that it’s not an odd man out type of thing. They try it with other people and with just one another but they know where they’re hearts belong. It works. Does it work because they’re all white? NOPE

Sense8 was a brilliant show. Here everyone was represented and it was such a shame they killed it. Still, they showed us that sexuality can be fluid and that a fandom can be supportive. Raj and Kala married in spite Kala loving someone else. They never made her choose and in the end, they accepted that she was poly and wanted both and guess what? The two guys even fell for each other! Here is a white, bisexual male with his Indian partners. India isn’t the greatest with being gay so for Raj this must have been stranger and scary but they both made him feel safe and comfortable, loved and supported and in the end it was canon that they were all going to be together and learn as they go. Like with You, Me, Her, the fandom is supportive of this and while we didn’t get much of Rajalagang, it is clear that they can work regardless of skin color, religion, and even long distance.

So then why not Polymarine? It was clear it tested well with the audience, haters aside, so what made them feel like they couldn’t carry on? Sure, people fall out of love, but in the show, they just didnt’ need to. Before Ryn Ben and Maddie were together without issue for almost a year. It was made clear every time that he was in love with her, that they had chemistry and that he was attracted to her, so how do they justify saying that this:

Wasn’t real and meant nothing? That this

Wasn’t the same?

If other relationships can survive and thrive then what is it that was so hard, so difficult for the writers that they remove the credit that they themselves paved the way for and throw it aside for something that has been done literally thousands of times? Why throw away what made you unique to fall in line? Why does a show about mermaids have to have this be the “realistic” thing?

Of Conflict and Indoctrination

“Madeline is far too sweet to me. I should consider myself lucky that she is so willing to aid me.” Veronica would say to herself, having departed from this Madeline Parris only a handful of hours ago. The girl hanging heavy on the young Monk’s mind. Veronica’s silent foot falls carrying her through the darkened brush of Duskwood, on a path all too familiar to her. A mile or so deeper, she would reach the clearing she frequents to rest for the evening. “Oh, Veronica~” A sickly sweet voice would fill the air, interrupting her silent journey. Veronica’s body would freeze. “What are you doing here?” She’d say, her eyes illuminating. Their eerie, silver glow even brighter in the nearly pitch black forest. “Oh, sissy, you can’t possibly think you’re going to be left alone? After you killed all of mama's men?” She’d laugh, leaping down from a tree, her leather armor clearly embellished with her family crest. Pale skin and white hair, matching Veronica’s own, though it sat much longer restricted into a braid. “I was nowhere near our home, Elise. You cannot exile me from all of Northrend and you certainly cannot fault me for defending myself.” “No one is saying you were wrong to defend yourself, sissy! I’m not even saying you were wrong for killing daddy! But, you know that doesn’t matter.” She’d shrug, “I have to kill you, so please just shut up and let me get this over with.” Her voice was overly sweet. Veronica would take her stance, Madeline’s words echoing in her mind.

“We’ll just have to keep each other safe.”

“Safe.”

“Safe.”

“Elise, I give you one opportunity to return home.” Her iris's spinning, taking a red hue, the glow of her eyes following suit. “Ohhh, sissy~ That’s a new trick!” Elise’s own eyes would begin to glow, a similar silver to Veronica’s, as she charged forward. Elise’s charge was led by two hooked daggers, one swiping out for Veronica’s mid-section. Without breaking a sweat, Veronica would side step, swatting her blade down, before striking against the side of Elise’s face with her palm. Before she could recover, V would press her attack; multiple strikes cracking against Elise’s back and shoulders. Clank

Both of Elise’s daggers would hit the ground, her arms numb from Veronica’s strikes. “Wh-what the hell is this, Veronica!” “Mother sent you to die, Elise. You’ve never beaten me.” “Why the hell can’t I feel my arms?!” “Mother sent you to me, so she would have another crime to record against me.” “Shut up!” Elise would shout, her voice catching in her throat. Limp armed, she’d rush forward, trying to prove her sister wrong.

“I am sorry that you were involved in this, Elise.” V’s voice was incredibly calm, though a single tear would find its way down her cheek, dripping off her chin. Veronica would turn her hand, striking directly at the center of Elise’s chest. Silently, the life would slip from her little sister’s body. The glow in her eyes would fade, leaving nothing but bloodshot, tear stained eyes. Veronica would catch the body, holding it close for a moment, another tear slipping down her cheek.
