You hand Stephen a grilled cheese and he looks at you like you just resurrected his soul.

“Marry me,” he says immediately, mouth already full.

You roll your eyes. “That’s the fourth time you’ve proposed this week.”

“This time I mean it,” he mumbles around a bite. “This sandwich has spiritually altered me. I’m changed.”

“Because of cheese?”

“Because of you, babe,” he says dramatically, holding the sandwich like a religious relic. “This is grilled devotion.”

You laugh and shake your head, flopping down beside him on the couch. “You’re lucky you’re hot.”

Stephen leans into you with a pleased sigh. “And humble.”

Later that week…

You’re mid-spar in the Batcave, sweaty and pissed because he keeps letting you win. You finally land a hit to his ribs and he collapses backward onto the mat, groaning.

“Ugh, marry me.”

You throw a towel at his face. “That one definitely doesn’t count.”

“Sure it does,” he wheezes. “Violence and vows? My favorite combo.”

You try not to smile. He’s ridiculous. But your heart does this stupid flutter thing anyway.

A week after that, in the middle of a rooftop chase:

“Cover the left!” you shout.

Stephen flips over a fire escape, lands beside you, tosses two smoke bombs, and yells, “Have my babies!”

You almost trip.

“What?!”

“I mean—awesome teamwork!”

“That’s not what you said!”

But he’s already vanishing into the smoke with a grin.

That night, back at the apartment:

He’s got a scrape on his cheek, and your hands are gentle as you clean it. He’s unusually quiet. Fidgeting.

“Hey,” you say. “What’s going on in that chaos brain of yours?”

He swallows. Then, almost shyly:

“I wasn’t joking, you know.”

You blink. “About… what? The babies?”

“About all of it,” he says, softer now. “The marry me. The have my babies. The you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I want to wake up next to you for the rest of my stupid Gotham life stuff.”

You freeze.

He’s staring at his lap, suddenly nervous. “It’s not a bit. Not really. I mean, yeah, I say it like a joke, but… I meant it. Every time.”

Your heart is loud in your ears.

You touch his jaw, making him look at you. “Stephen.”

“Yeah?”

You lean in and kiss him, slow and steady and real. The kind of kiss you only give someone who’s no longer a punchline — but a promise.

“Good,” you whisper, “Because I was starting to hope you’d say it again.”

He grins, eyes lighting up.

“Marry me?”

You laugh into his chest. “Finish healing first, lover boy.”

“Then have my babies?”

“Let’s start with finishing the grilled cheese.”

He does. With reverence.

And then he says it again, right before falling asleep with his arms around you:

“Have my whole ridiculous heart.”

This time, you say it back.

Honestly, Ursa's face was really hard to edit but I did my best😅❤

I imagined a male Ursa would still have a soft and somewhat feminine appearance.

It would make a nice contrast to female Ozai's SHARP features that could puncture a hull of an empire class Fire Nation battle ship and leave thousanda to drown at sea😂
