OMGGGG WHAT THE HECK IS THAT NEW TUMBLR ICON?! I get them wanting to try something new and so called “aesthetically pleasing to the eye” but that’s not it! Ok the weird creepy one for October I get it I guess 🤷‍♀️ BUT this one?! They couldn’t make it a cute simple logo with hearts ♥️ around it for February or something?????!!!!!! Thinking about how mandy and mickey would react to seeing each other for the first time after the show ends. They haven't seen each other since they were teenagers, we don't even know if they talk. The last thing she says about mickey is that ians new bf is better than him, and now gallavich are years into their marriage. They're father, the person who is probably the reason they were close and why they drifted apart is dead now. Both of them live such different lives now.

I would like to think they hug, like when mickey gets out of juvi or a fiona type reunion hug, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was sadder than that. Instead of jumping into each other's arms, they stand apart, shocked and staring at how different they both have become. There's an awkward hello followed by more stunned silence. It must be so weird to see the person who was, at one point, all you had and know nothing about their new life.

ok so i want to talk about what debbie did to matty and julia so tw: sa.

also, in advance, i have been sa’d before. not getting into the details because this is tumblr and i just simply don’t want to, but i’m explaining her behavior and defending it somewhat, but awknoleging that what she did was sa and was not ok. this isn’t me completely defending everything she did, because yeah, a lot of it wasn’t right.

so first of all, matty was also in the wrong but y’all aren’t even ready for this conversation yet. matty groomed debbie and was into her. that’s not even up for debate. he was twenty and she was thirteen, and he was aware of this. he was older than both lip and ian. and before anyone says “they were just friends” no. no they were not. you don’t call a thirteen year old sexy, invite her to your house, have her sleep in your bed next to you, go to her house, and say that you’ll have intercourse with her once it isn’t illegal and just have it be platonic. that’s grooming. debbie is just barely a teenager and has a shitty education that definitely doesn’t teach her sex ed, but what she does know is what she learns from her friends. mandy encourages her relationship with an older guy and advises her to send him a “picture” (keep in mind mandy also raped debbie’s brother a season earlier so….) and holly and ellie basically encouraged the entire thing (in their opinions, consent DOES NOT MATTER and i vaguely remember hearing one of them say that getting him drunk was a good idea but idk). debbie raped him, yes, but she also literally had no idea what rape was…like literally. he had to explain it to her and she was still like “we were on a date??😃”. she was a kid. no, that doesn’t excuse it. yes, minors can rape people, but it’s a bit different in her case. i would also like to point out that debbie fully awknoleges that it was wrong later on, which is something that many people on the show would probably not do (not to name names but… “it’s a gallagher thing”). however, something that mandy said had some truth to it. matty was upset about being raped, rightfully so, but he was also very fixated on debbie’s age, which he hadn’t been before. but he was more fixated on the fact that now that something has actually been done, now that the creepy things i did actually had consequences, i could get arrested. he knew exactly what he was doing, and she didn’t. people always paint it like she did know, but she really didn’t. it doesn’t excuse it, but it does explain it.

with julia, i can’t believe that people actually use this against debbie. julia was ten months younger than debbie, and probably had an upcoming birthday. it all happened before like…february/march 2020, and debbie was 19 (she turned 19 in december) but julia was 17, and 10 months younger. however, carl is born january 2002 and is older than her. so i’m gonna say that they just messed up the timeline (like they always do) and she was probably born around february 2002, so she was 18 when debbie was arrested, but 17 when they had sex. a 10 month age gap is ridiculous, and that was kind of the point. debbie said it herself, she only got in trouble with the law because she was a lesbian. claudia reported her simply as revenge, and it fucked up not only debbie’s life, but franny’s, too. the writers weren’t trying to antagonize debbie in this- but people read it that way. and hell, maybe julia’s birthday was a little after ian and mickey’s wedding and she actually was 17 with carl, making him also guilty. people shit on debbie for something so unreasonable and it’s just clear misogyny. debbie, out of all shameless characters, is a victim of misogyny throughout the show. she and lip both drop their babies on accident due to sleep deprivation, but only debbie is in the wrong. debbie and literally every one of her siblings (even liam) uses somebody to their advantage, but only debbie is in the wrong. it’s bullshit.

I went to a local fabric store today that I haven't visited before and while they have more fabric to offer than any other store here I've been to so far, I'm not sure it'll be my favorite... because the owner was just. A Lot.

Like. I didn't ask for a lecture on how a 300€ sewing machine can't possibly do a good job and that especially new sewers need the better equipment and that starts at 600-700€. That's an insane amount of money! Especially for someone who is just picking up a new hobby and doesn't know whether they'll stick to it long-term! Even horseriding is cheaper to pick up, and that's a hobby that's notorious for being expensive to begin (and maintain).

And to then have the nerve to imply that me being happy with my machine comes from a place of unconsciously justifying my choices! As if I haven't seen experienced sewers consistenly do incredible stuff with machines cheaper than mine. As if the art could only ever be good if you use the most expensive, inaccessible tools. As if my machine (good girl) isn't fun to work with. (Side note: I've had her for six months now and already heard from two people that they'd love to take her if I ever upgrade, unprompted. But sure, she's no good 🙄)

If anyone read til here: you don't have to spend 600€ on a sewing machine. You don't even need 300€! While I dearly love mine, I know I'm in a privileged position to have been able to afford her. Sewing doesn't have to be this luxurious hobby *some people* are making it out to be. There's only a handful of stitches/functions/etc. that you really need, everything else is mostly just nice to have and therefore very optional.

What if Lou was accepting of all dolls, all pretty and uglydolls.

Okay, so I've got caught a lot of asks to get through 😅but I love it! Some of these (like this one) will be explained rather than integrated into a story. If you want a story for this, let me know, but the request may have to be more specific.

Lou is my favorite character BECAUSE he does not accept the UglyDolls. While I love the optimism and being happy, Moxy crosses that fine line between hopeful and naive. Lou has been through so much that he is more grounded in the reality that not every doll IS able to pass the Gauntlet. Love and compassion are the main goals to pass, but even then, not every doll can do that.

We even see in the movie that it's not just Lou that sees the Uglies as repulsive and undesirable. When Lou is performing his song "The Ugly Truth" there is a clip of the Uglies moving closer to the stage and a red-headed female doll leans back in disgust. This is before Lou even calls them out on their appearance. Kitty and Lydia do the same thing when the Uglies first arrive.

This begs the question, if Lou had accepted them truly (mind you, he put on a front and the Uglies were still despised by the other dolls) would anything have been different for them? Ox had been wholeheartedly accepted by Lou when first coming to the Institute, and yet the other dolls shunned Ox for being different. It seems as if Lou has no real impact on what the other dolls think.

In actuality, Lou may be conforming to the majority rather than the majority conforming to him.

When Micheal (the blue-haired doll) and Meghan (the purple-haired doll) are first made, even they naturally scream in fear when the Uglies are revealed. This is without any knowledge of their purpose, the criteria to get to the Big World, any of that. By nature, the dolls are driven to look, what they consider, normal.

Aside from Mandy, Lou is the ONLY doll who is shown to give natural affection to the Uglies -- this is referring to when he first met Ox. So, it seems to me that Lou had first put on the act of despising the Uglies in order to fit in with the other dolls. His opinion or act toward them would not have changed what the majority would think.

But that's just my take on it. There's plenty of evidence to argue against my thesis as well.

I’m petition for my parents to literally never leave me alone again. I literally just about had a full blown panic attack. I was laying in bed getting comfortable to wait for my meds to kick in. Gibbs is under the blankets laying up against me and he got up very fast and was trying to get out of the blankets and he did and then he proceeded to go into the hallway and starts barking and howling in his “big boy voice” and that makes the other 2 freak out which is causing me more panic.

I literally called my mom she didn’t answer I gave it a second and as I was about to recall my dad called me and he’s like what’s wrong. I told him and made him look at the cameras to just make sure he didn’t see something I missed.

I have like maybe 2 hrs before my meds kick in and I’m honestly really fucking scared right this second.
