Seeing your posts on how you've despised the way season 6 handled the Mordecai/CJ/Margaret love triangle, did you read about writer Matt Price's posts on a Reddit AMA regarding why Mordecai didn't end up with Margaret or CJ in the end?

He said "We felt like the Margaret/CJ story was complete, and they were both on their own path already. We also felt like Mordecai had moved on in his life. He finally left the park to pursue art, and we thought it'd be cool if he met someone while doing that. But we love Margaret and C.J., and we're sure that they're happy without Mordecai! He was too wishy-washy with them!!"

To make things worse, Matt said that Rigby's Graduation Day Special planned to have CJ react to the Park crew going to outer space with an annoyed look implying ""Whatever, I'm glad that guy is in space."" Really feels he was trying to push the "CJ hates Mordecai and Margaret after their breakup" thing way too hard (glad it didn't make it to the final cut).

He also said that CJ apparently cut off all contact with Mordecai, Margaret, Rigby, and Eileen, which is a contrast to him confirming Margaret still keeps in touch with and remains friends with Mordecai, Rigby, and Eileen. Would you say this is kinda sad knowing CJ never got to even reconcile with Mordecai as friends like Margaret did in season 7? Plus making Eileen's sadness on not being able to hang out with both CJ and Margaret in I See Turtles even sadder with the implications of CJ cutting off contact with her in the end (likely just because she associates with Margaret) too.

Nope. I don't really keep up with regular show news. I still like the show and I loved close enough (RIP), but I just don't. But since CJ is near and dear to my heart as a character this does intrest me so let's get into it.

On not having Mordecai get with either of them: It was the right call. I didn't really mind when I saw the finale and time, maturity and what have you have only made me like the decision more. Part of it is where the series was at: The "Mordecai nukes his happy relationship arc" was a mess i've still only barely watched and plan to cover someday, but so far haven't gotten to. It was easily the worst thing the show's done and made me stop watching it for a season.

It was absolutely the right call to instead have him conciously take a break from dating, work on himself. He didn't do much of that before they got shot up into space, but it was a good effort. He burned that bridge with CJ the second he kissed Margret and them getting back together was a huge mistake: Mordecai never really found the right way to apologize and CJ clearly never got over the betrayal or her paranoia he'd do it again. Instead having the major arcs be "setup for next season" and "Rigby tries to better himself by going back to school' were a better choice, as was just.. putting the final season in space.

With those arcs it also meant there really wasn't room to speedrun a new relationship fans woudln't want. It makes more sense that after finally deciding to focus on his art, he grew up, had some time to mature and THEN met the love of his life. Margret had moved on with her life, Mordecai moved on with his. I do think the show fucked up with the love triangle, but this is the only move they could really make and I support that. It may blow a little Mordecai and Margret seemingly ends with a whimper.. but it's what the show and the character sneeded. Sometimes... life and cartoon shows dont' work out. People drift apart.

On the deleted scene: Seconded bud. Seconded. I do think the show REALLY fucked up with how it treated CJ during season 6, and really underestimated how attached fans had gotten.. which itself is baffling. She was part of the main cast. She took Margret's spot. She was in a decent chunk of episodes. Fans liked her and took her side in the breakup, and while she was super paranoid with mordecai, it's really hard not to blame her. Less easy to forgive the attempted murder but what can you do. So having her just go "Whatever I dont' care" feels wrong. Her not carring MOrdecai got shot up into space? In character, she dosen't have to care about her ex anymore. he fucked the relationship up beyond any hope and she made a mistake taking him back as she clearly coudln't forgive him. But her not having the slightest horror at Rigby or Eileen getting shot up , her friend and her best friend, feels so wrong it hurts. Eileen was the only thing that got her to actually be around margret and not fly into a jealous rage. What the fuck.

On the cut off thing: that just feels sad.. but i've come to accept it more. I DO think her cutting off Eileen is dickish and like to think she at least parted as amicably as she could.. but I also get it. Eileen is with Rigby, marries rigby, has his kids. The two are in a fantastic supportive relationship that shows how far he's come as a person and how far out of her shell she's come. It's adorable.. but it also means being around Eileen runs the risk of seeing Mordecai. Being Eileens friend means a pretty solid chance of running into her ex any time Eileen has a party, at the wedding, at the birth of her kids etc.

Being petty about Eileen being friends with Margret is one thing. margret fucked up.. but geninely tried to back off after making a heat of a moment mistake she clearly regretted deeply, and only told the boyfriend lie to save herself from a helicopter crash, an entirely fair reaction. Being shoved on a double date with her ex and his justifably jealous girlfriend who not so justifably tried to unalive her was not her idea. The two could manuver around each other, maybe awkwardly say high, I See Turtles proved they could at least be civil for Eileens sake.

But seeing her ex every time her best friend had a huge life event... that's a lot to ask. Eileen would be heartbroken.. but would understand why CJ had to break off their friendship and while I See Turtles was a good ep.. it WAS a lot to ask CJ to be around Margret right after what happened. Personally even if it's not how the creators see it I see the two reconnecting with time. CJ's moved on with her life, maybe gone pro with dodgeball, Eileen's a professor with a loving stay at home husband.. thier in a place they can be friends again and CJ, while not necesarily ever forgiving mordecai, can stand being around him. I could see her holding that grudge for a while, understandably so and people CAN hold onto grudges forever if they want.. but it just dosen't fit here. CJ grew up, and while she dosen't really keep in touch with her ex.. I like to think she got her friend back. Maybe her and Margret even become friends

Hell honestly I just had the idea margret and CJ eventually hook up: Margret genuinely apologizes for everything, CJ does the thing, one thing leads to another. I mean they do kinda fit: CJ's mordecai with his shit together, Margret is kind and empathetic, and I did really like it the last time an asshole's exes had better chemistry with each other instead of him.

SO TLDR: there honestly isn't anything that obnoxious in this. I don't like the idea of CJ cutting eileen off.. but most of it fits and the one part that didn't was cut out as they realized it didn't. For how badly the crew fucked up that love triangle.. they recovered fine.

hi kait. thank you sooo much for this ask. television is my first and true love and i have a great many things to say about it.

Black Sails - Black Sails is like a show made in a lab to please me. It is a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island" which integrates the fake pirates from the book with the real pirates of history. It is about my number one interest of all time, historiography, the way that we tell the story of history. It is about the way that society uses stories and shame to control people. Its epic.

Trust FX - A miniseries. This is also about historiography, you will sense a theme. This is about the Getty kidnapping. It is full of beautiful sexy Italians and horrible horrible Americans. Brendan Fraser slays as a PI slash Greek Chorus. Luca Marinelli gives the performance to end all performances as Primo Nizzuto.

Justified - A tribute to the now rightfully dead Western Genre Justified is about a bunch of guys who suck that you cannot help but root for. A big city Marshall is forced to return to his hometown of Harlan, Kentucky after shooting a man. Some of the greatest characters of all time come from this show. Raylan Givens, Dickie Bennet, Dewey Crowe, Tim Gutterson, Rachel Brooks, and above all, Boyd Crowder. If you are compelled by slow talking, fast drawing men with problems, you will love this brilliantly witty crime drama.

MASH - Hawkeye Pierce is like a real friend to me. This too is about historiography. 11 seasons of swirling 70s sleaze and the hardest hitting antiwar commentary wrapped up in the warm and fuzzy packaging of a pleasantly green sitcom. In the first season Frank asks Hawkeye if he's ever serious, Hawkeye responds "I tried it once, everybody laughed," and it felt like my life flashing before my eyes. Trapper John McIntyre, BJ Hunnicutt, Margret Houlihan, these are just a few of the greatest characters ever written. And they're on mash.

This is where things get hard, this answer has changed a lot over the years, a few years ago, It's Always Sunny would have been like 2 on this list, as far as number of funny episodes, its still pretty high up there, I also have to mention The Monkees of course, Turn: Washington's Spies was a formative classic for me and me alone, Star Trek: The Next Generation is brilliant. There are the modern classics, Succession, Severance, and Santa Clarita Diet. The old greats, Cheers, Taxi, Star Wars the Clone Wars. My past obsessions, Jonathan Creek, TAITV, I Made America, Torchwood. Flight of The Concords and What We Do In The Shadows informed my humor so much. But I think in the end the 5th greatest television program is the San Diego Padres. Not a show in the traditional sense, but TV certainly, and a program I have probably spent more time watching than any other.

Row 2: Starting off with the dangerously flirty Robert Hardy; following it up with the four great hellraisers Richard Burton; Peter O'Toole; Richard Harris and Oliver Reed; and a woman who's starred with all four, Vanessa Redgrave.

Row 3: Sid James, the man with the filthiest laugh in films; the delicious Ava Gardner; the "Sound of Music" couple that wasn't to be Christopher Plummer and Eleanor Parker; the divine Alain Delon; and another great Frenchman, Serge Gainsbourg.

Row 4: The Swedish row: Harriet Andersson; the brilliant director Ingmar Bergman, this man's understanding of women is truly remarkable; Max von Sydow; Georg Funkquist, one of Sweden's great character actors; Jarl Kulle my beloved; Eva Dahlbeck.

Row 5: The Norwegian row: Anne-Lise Tangstad; Rolf Søder, the man with a laugh that nearly rivals Sid James's; Per Sunderland who has a voice that does things to me; Knut Wigert who is one of the most sensual men I've ever come across; Arne Aas; Ingerid Vardund.

Row 6: Jack Nicholson, he always had it never lost it; Ann-Margret; Robert Redford, I saw him in "The Great Gatsby" when I was 12 and that was it; Alan Bates, we love a bisexual king!; David Hemmings; Anna Quayle.

Bradley and Bob going to visit Bob’s family and it’s just so cute because they’re so welcoming and Bradley chokes up because it feels like home

Fe. Fe. FE. A brilliant explosion of color lined the road, the fall foliage on display everywhere he looked. Bradley glanced over at Bob, who was humming along with the song on the radio as he drove. One hand on the wheel, the other holding Bradley’s. Thumb smoothing over the back of his hand. It was still all so new, despite being together for nearly a year now, and when Bob asked him to come home to meet the family, Bradley panicked. Bob had put up with it all. The silence, the nerves, the eight million questions when Bradley decided that yes, he would go home with Bob to Tennessee. “You alright?”

The soft question startled Bradley out of his thoughts. “Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. It’s gorgeous out there.” “It’s gorgeous in here too.” Bob grins, and Bradley’s heart skips a beat. He squeezes Bob’s hand gently. “Last chance to back out,” Bob says softly, turning down a dirt road. “I’m ready.” The drive widens slightly, winding along. Immense pastures spread out as far as he can see, the sunset setting everything ablaze in shades of oranges and reds. There’s a slight dip in the road, Bob taking a hard right, the crunch of gravel giving way to concrete. The drive ends in a loop with a sprawling ranch house. Bob pulls up next to another truck. There’s a blonde woman, a child on her hip talking to man who has an identical child on his hip while two more race around the truck. “My sister Ellie, and that’s her husband Jeff.” Bob says softly. “The twins are in a Dr. Seuss stage and only answer to Thing One and Thing Two. The boy with the cowboy hat is Jensen, and the little girl is Aubrey.” “We like Jeff?” “We like Jeff.” Bob repeats. “Margret is on the porch, and her boyfriend is probably in the house.” There’s a blonde woman standing on the porch, laughing as three dogs escape out the front chased by two more children, a teenager following lazily after them. “The two little kids belong to my cousin.” Bob says, “They’re staying with momma while Rhett’s working the circuit. The teenager is Charlie, he’s Margret’s.” Bob startles when there’s a thump to his window, turning to see a third woman with her face pressed against the glass comically. “That’s Cassie.” Bob says as Bradley laughs, seeing the slow realization in her eyes that Bob isn’t alone in the cab of the truck. “You ready?” “Absolutely not.” Bradley says with a soft laugh, but he’s got his hand on the door release. His feet hit the ground, and there’s a moment of quiet. He can feel all eyes on him, taking his measure. And then Bob gets out of the truck. He slams the door closed, walking over to Bradley taking his hand. “Behave, all of you.” There’s another moment of silence, broken by a thunderous crash, or the call of a very large bird of prey, Bradley’s not sure. The two kids who had been running around the other truck turn and barrel straight into Bob, taking him down while the dogs, and two other younger children join in. “Ellie,” the woman with a toddler on her hip, offers her hand. They shake, and he grins. “Hold this,” She hands Bradley the toddler. “Robert Floyd you didn’t tell me you were bringing your boyfriend?” Ellie takes a foot to her knee and she joins the dog pile as Cassie knocks into her. There’s a whole lot of wrestling and yelling and hysterical giggles. “Are you Thing One, or Thing Two?” Bradley asks the blond toddler who blinks brilliant blue eyes at him. The kid holds up two fingers, before there’s a tiny hand slapping against his mustache. “Pleased to meet you Thing Two.” Bradley murmurs and is rewarded with happy laughter. “It’s safer inside.” Jeff tips his head toward the house, Margret was moving down the stairs zeroed in on the mass of bodies rolling around in the dirt. They head up to the house, Bradley’s stomach rumbling when he smells something delicious coming from the kitchen. “Welcome to the chaos.” Jeff says with a smile. “Go find Nanna, tell her Uncle Bobby and his boyfriend are here.” He sets one twin down, and takes the other from Bradley. It’s warm and noisy, there’s toys strewn about, shoes piled up in the entry way. A television is playing cartoons, there’s music coming from the kitchen. Bradley feels his shoulders drop, the last bit of nerves evaporating from his belly. He hadn’t felt like this in years, and it was something that he had missed deep down in his cells. Home. The door bangs open behind them, bringing with it a gust of chilly autumn air. Bob’s draped on his back, Bradley supporting his weight, feeling himself blush when a soft kiss is pressed to his cheek. “Come on, let’s introduce you to Momma.”
