Don’t You Forget About Me - Sherry

This is my entry for Day Five of the OC New Year's Challenge!

When I thought about who of my babies I have neglected and who deserved more attention, I was at a bit of a loss. Even my most unpopular OCs were at least included in the polls for the Halloween Challenge, for example. But then I realized that one of them was missing:

Princess Sherry of the Mushroom Kingdom

So, I went back to my pixely ways of art-ing and made a little gif for my magical princess.

Welcome to my Rp canon/headcanons maybe AU? mainly focused on Kamek and king boo aka the ancient beings of the Mario universe

First off big thing I gave a big 5000 year timeline for kamek because I essentially made him a immortal being because He studied vigorously in ancient times from age 15 to 34 on making a immortality potion at 34 he did drink that potion and forever looks the same as back then other than new scars or clothes choice.

Kamek is a much older type of koopa we’ll call it feral koopa or just Ancient koopas. he is unsure if there’s any other of his type though in a few very opinionated history books from the old blue toad emperor their name is shown as the feral,Savage,Barbaric Koopa. But later on the telling of the 2 Koopa wars he was in was more accurate. Kamek was hatched a few years after the 1st war of the 3 koopa/mushroom wars in history.

a few tell of sightings of this strange koopa in the Red heart Forest which is known for its pulsating trees that glow red.

Prince boo of the past one of the two princes of the long gone spirit kingdom him being the oldest and the younger being prince Roo. He use to act very Noble playing the acting role of the perfect prince he did protect his citizens the best he could but he still had many traits of the current king boo we see nows personality hidden underneath

Now Kamek similarity acted much more arrogantly in the past with a love for combat and a dislike of any kind of monarchy oh and if anyone were to truly see the list of his past actions they would never think of that Crazy but polite old koopa in a wizards cloak of the current days,but that was nowhere to be seen for another few thousand years.

In the very far past king boo who was back then alive called prince boo till he turned 20 and kamek had studied in the wizard tower together before they both graduated at 16. Oddly enough they were pretty close friends if not both a little messed up constantly playing pranks and scaring each other. One of the very few people kameks instincts let him care about.

The wizard tower in ancient times was a school to learn magic only royal family’s kids or students chosen to be let in by all of the instructors could get in. Prince boo being one of the spirit kingdoms royals the one in line for the throne and kamek being the young cryptid he is broke through the magic barriers at 5 years old and get accepted as worthy to keep around before that 5 years kamek was hatched in that red heart forest and had survived like any other would eating raw meat.

The wizard professors were quite corrupt if you hadn’t geuss already first off they always have the royal kids under watch as they teach magic/make them redo the dirty work. Secondly they withold information and resources which they completely keep for themselves. Also sending kids out to die because it’s a funny game to them oh how surprised they’d get to see a few students surviving but also delighted to see many not coming back.

They took all of the wizard professors trials though each one more suspicious than the last starting from gathering magical herbs the students could never get their hands on in any other place to Hunting down magical creatures for their materials the last trial being to get a part off a dragon. If you died or were in danger none of the instructor wizards would help a student after all that was “beneath them”

After the graduation Kamek killing a dragon (shhh don’t tell anyone it was a old passing away dragon) with his magic infused knuckle bracers which may or may not have been allowed the rules were unclear kamek actually felt guilty when he had some time to think to himself “… their sentient why did non of the books or wizards mention that” and Prince boo bringing back 2 green dragon wings proudly bringing them back home to hang on a wall.

Things started to take a turn someway somehow prince roo had created a rift between Boo and Kamek using boos care for his younger sibling against him convincing him kamek was a danger to him and the entire spirit kingdom.

which led to king boo threatening kamek “If I ever see you anywhere near my kingdom your head will be put on a Pike” normally this wouldn’t bother kamek so much from anyone else in the current times but this was the only person he had found to actually have any care for. Kamek was shocked wanted to say something but couldn’t he went away after seeing the look in prince boos eyes.

After all of the other now graduated students went home to there royal families. Kamek had a plan so he pretended to leave the magic tower then scoped everything out. After all he can’t just let unchecked power happen any longer especially since he learned what he needed already. “Oh who cares about reasons *cackles* there’s nothing like a good prank right.”

That’s right he demolished the wizard tower watchin the chaos as it crumbled. when it’s defenses just weren’t high enough because of graduation day.

Age 16 information complete feel free to ask questions im not a good writer for stories but I do enjoy making lore.

Kind of a Q to just go out there

But hey, and this is kind of broad maybe idk, but anyone got any good suggestions on how to get into the Mario fandom?

I know a lot of people have grown up on the Mario franchise and stuff, and I grew up with it around me, but was never too interested in actually getting into it when I was little. I mean, don't get me wrong, I remember playing a couple levels of the original and watched the old cartoon every once in a while but that was about it.

BUT, lately I have gained interest in it, especially after seeing the trailer for the movie! Heck, even before the movie I've thought about getting into it more, but have just been lazy. You can't blame me, there's tons of games to catch up on and build ups in the story so yeah

Anyway, I've looked into little things and I've started watching the old cartoons again and I think it's a start, but if anyone wants to, then could I get some tips on how to enjoy the Mario universe better lol? Like maybe, games to start off with or whatever would help! Thanks!

Adding to the OC collection: This is a moodboard for Princess Sherry - the mystery character I showed you a few days ago!

Bet you couldn't guess she's a Mario Universe OC. Sherry is Peach's younger sister. Because of Bowser's kidnapping attempt as a baby (Mario & Luigi Partners in Time, past era), Sherry was raised outside of the castle and without the public knowing she's Peach's sister. Not even the Mario Brothers knew! To protect her, Sherry was given a magical amulet that she carries with her at all times.

Sherry's first appearance would've been in Superstar Saga where she acts as Peach's decoy, visits Little Toad Town with her and then helps Prince Peasley gather the Beanstar fragments. She isn't present in Partners in Time, mostly because she wouldn't have a past counterpart as her baby self would not have been born at the time of the game's past sections.

However, she plays a very big role in Bowser's Inside Story, accompanying Bowser on almost the entire journey. He has never met her and doesn't know she’s actually Peach's sister, so he accepts her into his squad of minions. The two of them get along pretty well. At the climax of the game, Sherry fights on Bowser's side, not on Mario and Luigi's, and regularly visits him in his castle, maintaining her minion-esque status.

I haven't thought about the other games yet, but you best believe I will. I left out a lot of details too! In case you're wondering what she looks like, have some character maker images!

She never wears her dress and crown - only for very formal occasions where she has to act as the princess she is. Aside from that, she prefers more practical clothes and going on adventures - which is one of her motivations for choosing to stay with Bowser. It does make for awkward/funny moments when Bowser kidnaps Peach again. ... Hi, sis!
