I have concocted a whole ass AU where Solus Prime not only escapes death but also manages to find/land on earth. There she eventually meets Marissa Fairborn and somehow a piece of her spark gets lodged inside of the human's chest. Eventually more present day transformers come to Earth and a treaty is set up with Marisa being the go-to with humans along with Solus. Of course they are also in love and together too.

How the Transformers franchise should handle human characters:

Stop featuring the military, especially as an antagonistic force. We can leave space for the EDC, but remember that this was a defense force for Earth that worked together with the Transformers.

Remember that humanity heckin' loves robots. Would we have so many giant robot shows if we didn't love the whole concept? Bring in NASA, any other scientific organizations, or nerds. Interspecies friendship guaranteed.

Write humans as being competent in their own right. The G1 cartoon did this to excellent effect. Carly was an MIT student who fixed the Dinobots' circuits so they could escape captivity. Chip Chase was... Some sort of scientist and slapped a control device on Devastator to stop him from rampaging. Dr. Harding sent satellites into space and, when finding out she was a target, only paused long enough to throw a chair out the window before jumping out herself. Sparkplug Witwicky was a blue collar mechanic, fixing Autobots right along with Ratchet. Raoul could do mechanic work plus he was quick thinking and scrappy. Marissa Fairborn was a liaison of the EDC and a capable and daring pilot, loyal enough to throw hands with a Sharkticon.

Humans have always been a part of the franchise and shouldn't be removed. Writers just have to put in at least some effort into making them likeable.

Like everyone else in TTB though, Buster is a little different here!

He’s a scrappy little wire-haired Jack Russell terrier who TC discovered as a stray puppy near the base of operations for Marissa Fairborne’s NGO.

At that point of time, TC was feeling extremely lost, so Buster (so called because this little little bastard ‘busted the balls’ of everyone who tried to approach him except TC) gave him something to ground himself to while he collected his bearings and figured out where he wanted to take his life’s path from here on.

Buster’s been his Good Boy ever since and is 720% read to square up with anyone who has a bone to pick with his human dad.

Let’s Talk about Rise of the Beasts!

So I just finished watching Rise of the Beasts in theatres, and here are some things I noticed:

Optimus acknowledges Bumblebee’s relationship with Charlie from the Bumblebee movie, confirming that the two movies take place in the same universe and that ROTB, while not exactly being a sequel, is a continuation of that universe.

Scourge’s badges display various Autobot badges, Decepticon badges, Predacon, and maximal badges. This confirms the existence of all these factions within the established universe and sets up potential new characters such as Blackarachnia or Dinobot.

Scourge mentions “Primus would be ashamed” when he discovers that Optimus is a Prime, introducing the cybertronian religious aspects we usually only hear about in the comics or in TV shows, such as the lineage of Primes or the original 13 and their connection with Primus.

I didn’t think Pablo could get any worse from the promo art and yet somehow he got way worse the moment he started talking and I’m glad he wasn’t in the movie all that much.

I still wish we could’ve seen the bot modes of the Maximals, we only see them transform in battle and it’s not very clear what they look like. Airazor didn’t transform at all.

The ending of the movie not only sets us up for a sequel, but an entire new continuity and expanded universe. Plus with the introduction of G.I. Joe, one of many references to things we really only see in the comics, there’s a possibility for things like Skywarp’s involvement with G.I. Joe, Marissa Fairborne, Thundercracker, etc.

The G.I. Joe operative that Noah speaks with mentions that they’re “in the middle of a war”. This can be connected back to the Bumblebee movie and the arrival of Decepticons on earth, and could potentially set us up with the main Decepticon/Autobot war in a next film.

They wrote Optimus so well and I love that it shows Optimus building trust with humans instead of having that trust already be established. Very refreshing. His dynamic with Primal was wonderful.

Mirage being able to turn into a suit that Noah can wear is something I personally don’t think has ever been shown in Transformers before in any media or comics? I could be wrong but it’s definitely very very rare if not a completely new concept.

Using Arrival to Earth for the last epic moments was a punch to the gut like wow my feels. And I don’t even like the bayverse movies.

I love how they gave a legitimate reason why Scourge was so powerful instead of just going “oh he’s just really strong and hard to kill” but no Unicron buffed the hell out him.

When Araizor was being taken over by Scourge I gasped and whispered “rust plague” cause if you know you know that disease is a bitch.

Finally humans I can actually tolerate in a Transformers movie.

There’s a lot of potential for this new cinematic universe (I hope)! They left it very open ended and allowed space for all sorts of stuff both from the Comics, the other live action movies, and even the TV shows in terms of references and characters and even plot lines. It’s a perfect grab bag of various Transformers media wrapped nicely with a bow for both new Transformers viewers and old ones.

Why you 🫵 should vote for Thundercracker from Transformers to get into the bracket!

First of all canonically his species (cybertronians) are all asexual! They’re a bunch of kickass robots that turn into vehicles, dinosaurs, and other cool things and isn’t that just sick as hell!! Thundercracker himself turns into (in the g1 continuity) a blue F-15 Eagle fighter jet!

Second of all he’s a Decepticon who had a great redemption arc where he saves a city from utter destruction, get a dog (Buster, she’s the cutest), and after watching a bunch of earth media, he decides to pursue becoming a screenwriter!!

He makes friends with a lady called Marissa Fairborn & decides to live a pretty chill existence with his dog & his friends :) aromantic king

His trinemate (definition of this may vary depending on who you ask but let’s just say good friend) Starscream asks him to write a movie about him at one point, and Thundercracker shows off his skills as a triple threat. He writes, directs, and acts in “Starscream: The Movie”. He plays 3 roles in it & while it never makes it to the big screen 😔. He’s later hired for a different movie, which he wins a writing award for! Clearly he’s a guy you should vote for

Then we have Megan Overlord on the backdrop who Prowl loathes/works with unknowingly because he wants to leave.

The DJD cult as well as new Terrans popping up. Enter Tarn stage left.

Which gives us OCs and maybe some younger characters.

Robby and Mo are getting plotlines as they develop their powers. Maybe bring in Drift/Ratchet like the one pitched episode? Maybe Prowl sicks Ratchet on them as payback since he realizes Optimus hasn't told.

I'm surprised that no one asked about them yet, but what are the backstories of Thundercracker and Skywarp?

Gosh I haven’t actually sat down to bang out the whole thing with them! I do have some bits and pieces, but the whole thing likely won’t come to me until I draft their full character sheets ;u;

Skywarp is still being coy!

What I CAN tell you about Thundercracker is:

He was actually selectively mute when Shockwave first met him. He was adopted at the age of two by a lesbian couple comprising a standard human and a feline beastman, and his powers manifested early at four or five years of age in a particularly destructive tantrum in which he broke windows—forcing them to move— and permanently blew out his Catmum’s ears (she has to use hearing aids, but doesn’t because the ones calibrated for her cat ears are expensive and normal ones don’t fit her).

His parents still love him regardless—he was just a child who didn’t know any better and wasn’t cognisant of what he could do—but he was horrified at the pain he put his Catmum through and chose to keep mute since, communicating with them through sign language (which Catmum earlier learned to continue conversing with him) which they all thought was the safest avenue in not knowing the parameters of his power.

They decided to homeschool him (proper homeschooling!) for safety reasons, and the world thought he was mute/deaf like Catmum until he lost control of his emotions one day when Catmum was being harassed on the streets, and sent her harasser flying into the road with the force of his yelling.

That’s how Senator Shockwave caught wind of him and came to see him when he was ten. His two mums were VERY wary of Shockwave—they’re aware he’s an anomaly, but he’s THEIR anomaly—until Shockwave managed to reassure them that they weren’t here to take him away to a lab or something, just to a school to better understand his gift and help him hone/control them, so he can freely speak without fear of hurting people he loves again.

He was back and fourth between Shockwave’s Institute and his mums’ place until adulthood.

His mums are very supportive of his ambitions to be an actor, and what’s usually written in his contract is that they must have sign language interpreters for stage plays to make the shows accessible for everyone, in particular Catmum who loves seeing him onstage.

He still keeps in contact with them throughout the war, and was attempting to make his way back to them after he left the Cons before he was caught by Functionists and then freed by Marissa Fairborne’s men.
