hi i think its rlly nice that, despite what Misty's been through, she keeps a mostly positive mindset and keeps trying to make friends. and i think its underdiscussed when it comes to them
misty is known as being tragic and sad and lonely, and while this is true, they also try to stay optimistic. despite their past with Barnacle Bessie and other suits, they continue trying to reach out and make friends.
When the toons first approach her in her battle, she invites them to learn Ip Dip with her. And at the end of her battle, she says she "hopes to share that pain with someone like you". She remains hopeful for friendship and connection despite what she's endured.
But i think this persistence can also be very harmful when she's desperate for that connection, shown through her relationship with William. They haven't left him alone, to the point he's claiming to have been harassed and stalked by them. Misty's desperation for friendship and connection has caused them to hurt other people, and I dont think that should be ignored either.
Misty deserves friendship like any other, but the way she goes about it can be harmful to both herself and the people around her. But her desperation also makes sense when you see how often she is turned down and rejected, for reasons she doesn't seem to understand (hence lines like, "I've done nothing wrong" and "I want to be friends with you toons. I don't see why it can't happen". They don't seem to fathom why toons and suits cannot be friends, despite the obvious war going on. They're very focused on themselves and the pain they've endured that they fail to pay attention to OTHERS' pain. Others like the toons and William.)

Texas chainsaw au where they advertise running a “haunted house” experience for tourists.
Orchestrated by Drayton Sawyer who wants to squeeze some money out of ‘regular folk’; impress grandpa and partially get off on ppls scared faces after being terrorised by the twins and bubba.

𝙍𝙀𝙑𝙀𝘼𝙇𝙀𝘿 - 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨? An Israeli held hostage for over 50 days by Hamas was locked in the attic of a Gazan father of ten, a teacher in an UNWRA school, with minimal access to food or medicine.  Another hostage was held captive in the home of a Gazan doctor. - Almog Boker, Channel 7

“why would elaena marry a dornishman when they’re nasty evil people who murdered her poor innocent brother daeron”
maybe because once elaena grew up she realized that there were better ways of bringing dorne into the realm than violent conquest, and that daeron got the death he deserved from not just a nobility that is valid for fearing subjugation from valyria but also a smallfolk sick and tired of these people showing up every few decades to set their principality on fire, and put aside any anti dornish sentiments she may or may not have harbored as a child to see the way her family had directly attributed to their suffering, eventually even falling in love with and marrying a dornish man??
also, considering daeron ii attempts a type of proto-reparations act in bringing dorne into the kingdom, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that someone as intelligent as elaena would recognize the inherent racism in the targaryen conquest of dorne and especially considering the very loud anti-dornish, deeply anti intellectual faction in the blackfyre rebellions, realized they wouldn’t be kind or understanding of an intelligent woman like herself and had no interest in herself or her daughters (of which she had four!!) getting shoved back into the maidenvault again?
like, daeron i is on some andrew jackson manifest destiny shit, and if it makes me an asshole for thinking “god i wish someone had merked jackson before he genocided & displaced my ancestors, good on the dornish for realizing you can’t negotiate with imperialists” than i am perfectly comfortable being considered an asshole right next to my girl elaena.

Israel made Hamas. Like if they didn't colonize the land bc some brit said so non of these would have happened. They backed a whole nation of people into a corner and expect them to just take it.
"I have no idea how Hamas keeps recruiting Palestinians to shoot at us. Anyway, let's treat literally every innocent civilian in Palestine as collateral damage, kill their families, maim their friends, traumatize whoever's left, and then cut off their water and electricity so they starve in filth and darkness. That won't cause radicalization at all."
We spent 20 years bombing Afghanistan and after all that, the Taliban is back in power. It doesn't work, we know it doesn't work, but throwing weapons at something makes you feel good so that's what matters.

Recently, my favorite Bloodborne headcanon has been about how different people see the beasts and the scourge. I like to imagine that those older and more cynical, mainly adults, have a harder time seeing and accepting the truth about beasts being human, whereas children and those with more innocent eyes can see it almost immediately.
So, if you put a kid that sees the world with a gentle outlook and a trusting heart in a place like Old Yharnam where the beasts are being killed, but their humanity slips out in subtle ways, that kid is gonna see the injustice and cruelty of it. Children, in a way, have more “insight” than adults.
However, certain adults with kinder hearts (people like Djura), can see it way sooner than others. It’s like the difference between the Narrow-Minded Man and the Chapel Dweller in the Ward. The Narrow-Minded man would say he’s a skeptic, not just buying into any “so-called truth,” and yet he is blinder than a bat when it comes to his direct surroundings. He says he sees Arianna look at the “saintly” Adella with envious eyes when the reverse is occurring repeatedly.
Then you have the Chapel Dweller who is a loving and trusting creature, even if a bit naive, who sees Arianna for what she is. Blunt, but kind. Good. Not the evil black sheep that everyone else wants to see. He defends the “Vileblood whore” that the others look down upon, because he has that childlike insight that allows him to see the real truth that hides itself from the self-declared skeptics.
The friendlier NPCs like Djura, Eileen, and Gilbert seem to share the same lack of animosity towards you for being an outsider, and even those afflicted by the beast scourge. Mercy is something they actually value.
It’s really interesting to consider the conflicted ones as well, like Maria or maybe even Gehrman (when we consider how he sleeps more peacefully after the Orphan is freed from its misery), because you can maybe see the potential of their repentance, but the position they were put in meant that such a decision to walk away from lives of violence was one too great, or perhaps it was even too late to do so. Could they really atone for their sins after everything they had done?
Then of course, there are the people like Logarius and his Executioners, who are so heartless and without conscience that they even slaughter beings that are literally humanoid in their external appearance. They paint this massacre as righteous and good, because they have no veil of beast hood or disease to hide behind. They use a corrupt system to achieve their own perverse goals, and at that point, who would stop them?
It’s really fascinating how you can see so many examples within the game itself and then deduce how different characters would have behaved from those examples. The variety is everywhere, and something about the idea that children or the innocent being able to immediately discern the human within the beast is so alluring.
