Sooooo anybody remembers the PS2 era?

Like, yeah everybody remember the good games on there like maybe DMC 1-3, All the DbZ games, or the naruto ultimate ninja.

Fa uns anys vaig crear una activitat dinàmica per a les classes de repàs amb un alumne de 5é de primària. Digam que necessitava una mica de marxa, ja què jo acudia a donar-li classe justament mitja hora després que ell eixira de l’escola. Quina manera d’avorrir l’alumnat! Aquest es passava assegut amb mi fins les 19:30h de la vesprada. Era un crack!

Doncs bé, un dia estudiant anglès, no hi havia manera d’estudiar els verbs irregulars, ja què els més coneguts els sabia traduïr a l’espanyol, però la llista era prou llarga. Així doncs, com que a mi m’agrada molt jugar, vaig crear un “Memmory” amb dos colors: les targetes blaves tenien escrit el verb en una llengua i les roges en l’altra, de manera que el meu alumne i jo hauríem d’emparellar cada verb irregular en anglès amb la seua traducció a l’espanyol. La diferenciació de colors ajudava a agafar dos verbs de diferent idioma i no caure en l’error d’agafar dos verbs de la mateixa llengua.

Encara empre les cartes, per suposat que les vaig plastificar, car ja que havia invertit el meu temps en pensar aquesta superidea, volia conservar-les. Vaig fer bé. Hui en dia és un joc meravellós per fer memòria (mai millor dit) a qualsevol nivell educatiu que estudie els irregular verbs.

And why Fredrick Douglas in particular. Is it because he also was some sort of white supremaclst pro-slavery person?

No. It’s because he was vocally anti-socialist. So he shares the same fate during the same rioting and destruction of monuments and property as the confederate statues, the Lincoln memmorial, the Jefferson statue, and Hans Christian Heg.

This is why it’s called, ‘the mask slipping.’ Because they may talk a big game about just hating the white supremacist parts of American history and allegedly the society of the past, but the reality is they consider the entire society and country to still be white supremacist. Because it’s not socialist. That’s their idea of getting rid of white supremacism. Getting rid of capitalism and everything that is not socialism.

It’s one thing to have a beef with confederate monuments. It’s quite another to behead figures like Heg and Douglas. And they can claim that it was actually, “Nazi fascists” that did that, or claim “it was just people that didn’t know better uwu.” But, the truth is, that’s just not likely.

These particular activists with their particular ideology and playbook want equality the same way white supremacist tradcons want peace and prosperity. By which I mean their ideas and definitions of both stem from very warped and masturbatory ideologies about what constitutes those positive things and why we don’t currently have them.

These people have hid like wolves in sheeps clothing and co-opted every civil rights struggle over the 20th and 21st century purely to advance their goals by proxy. But the more diverse the country becomes, the more everybody will be offended or outright combative to the overarching goals. And the more blatant and honest they’ll eventually have to become about what they want.

After he finished the story how he made everyone in Asgard believe he turned into banana, he got back to teach you anatomy and proportions of a human body. He really was a great teacher.

You held the paper close to your chest as you fell asleep.

"As you all know, I'm a genius. And geniuses like me get amazing ideas. And one came to my mind this morning."

"The last time you got an amazing idea we had to fight bunch of robots on a flying city," Wanda noted.

Everyone in the meeting room had a 'never again' face. A very common expression whenever someone mentiones past catastrophies.

"We fixed it, and Bruce and I won't try to make anything like Ultron ever again. This is about holidays," he switched the gigantic screen behind him on. Footage of the last year's Chistmas appeared. Crowded party deck, drunk avengers, broken christmas tree...

"And here I thought I was a chaos maker," Loki chuckled. He was sitting directly next to you, occasionally playing with mini illusions in-between his fingers.

"Exactly, chaos! Christmas is about peace and family. And that's why tomorrow we'll all leave and spend Christmas like a family in Alps. And by all I mean ALL. Clint, pack your kids, they're invited too."

You perked up. "Are we going to be completely isolated there?"

"Yes, nobody but us will be there. And don't worry, there are books," you and Loki fist bumped.

"Anyways, since we're leaving tomorrow, this is the last night we spend in tower this year, we have to spend it meaningfully. Any ideas?"

Thor's hand was slowly rising. "Oh and no drinking games you can't go on a plane with hangover. I don't want anyone throwing up," Pepper announced.

Thor's hand slowly fell down again.

Loki poked your shoulder. "Hey, watch," he inconspicously moved his hand towards semi-sleeping Sam. A giant taratula started crawling up his arm. The moment he noticed he nearly fell ftom his chair. It took too much of your will power to hold the laugh inside.

"Loki," Steve looked at Loki, quite annoyed.

"I'm just keeping him conscious."

"By scaring me to DEATH?!"

Bruce slammed his hand on the table, startling everyone. "Can we focus for 5 minutes?"

"Movie night anyone?" all heads turned towards Natasha, relieved at least someone was using braincells for more than pranks and sleep.

"I mean, that mini cinema of yours is collecting dust, why not use it before we completely forget about it?"

Steve looked at her. "Not a bad idea, but we have to agree on a movie, which has never happened before," he glared at Tony.

"So shoot me captain, I don't like musicals. How about some action?"

Thor looked up at Tony. "Our life is action."

"Speak for yourself, my life is a comedy," you leaned into your seat.

Loki smirked down at you. "It has to be funny in order to be a comedy," that little teasing shit.

"Loki!" you laughed. You knew him long enough to know this wasn't an insult.

Clint smirked. "How about we give those two a chance to finally kiss and watch a rom-com?"

You and Loki immediately stopped teasing eachother. You wished the floor would swallow you and your overheated face. Thankfully someone took the attention away from you two. "Why don't we watch a kids' movie and relax. Spirited away, for example. Or another Ghibli movie," Clint suggested.

Everyone seemed to agree. Everyone besides two norse gods. After Tony let you go to pack, both of them went to you for explenation.

"It's a good movie about a little girl who got into a magical spa house with a friend dragon. No more spoilers. You'll enjoy it, trust me," and just like that, you were off to your room.

You tried to pack as many warm things as you could into 2 bags. You also tried to make room for your phone, laptop, earphones, chargers and your favourite plushie you never leave without.

'Fuck it, I'll do it later' you thought and walked to your door. As you opened it you colided with a strong torso covered in black sweater. A pleasant smell of pine trees and leather hit your nose and you instantly knew who it was.

"I was going to ask you if you're finished with packing."

You laughed a little embarrassed. "Yeah I'm going to finish it later. So, can we go to the movie room?"

Loki smiled warmly at you. "Yes, we can."

The movie started and you already felt like a little girl. That movie brought back so many good memmories. The Avengers were finally relaxed, watching a movie under blankets, either lying or sitting on comfortable couches.

You were sharing a blanket with Loki. He snaked his hand around your shoulders and made you lean on him. It was so warm and comfortable and too perfect. He stroked your shoulder with his thumb from time to time. Your eyes checked Loki's face. From what you were seeing, he was enjoying the movie. Especially magic parts. You could see the happiness in his face, when he saw Haku use magic the first time and the biggest smile broke out when he found out Haku can shapeshift, just like him.

Loki however noticed your staring. "Why are you looking at me and not the screen? I know I am handsome but you said you loved this movie and wouldn't want to miss a second of it," he whispered close to your ear.

"I still love it. I wanted to know your opinion on it. Looks like you like Haku the most," you smiled at him.

"Yes, he is quite skilled sorcerer and I enjoy it. But I also want you to enjoy the movie as well," he tightened his arm around you, brought you even closer to him and planted a soft kiss on your forhead. He took your chin between his forefinger and thumb and turned your face towards the screen.

"We'll have the whole tomorrow to talk about this wonderful movie, darling," he promised you.

You leaned your head directly on his shoulder. He let his head fall on top of yours and the both of you spend the rest of the night snuggling under the blanket.

Piltover Legends Chapter 1 Memmories of the lost life.

Hello everyone ! I think I can say in name of many that we all fell in love for Arcane. This show turned out to be one of the best animations ever made, with amazing story, character and awesome music. I’m known as a patient man, but this time I really wont be able to wait calmly for season 2 :D That’s why I got this crazy idea, to write a series of three stories (that’s the plan at least ;)) that would tell a story of characters presented Arcane, but I wont be guessing the course of riot story telling, so I decided to skip couple of years in the story, hoping I may be partially lore accurate. It is a first story I wrote in a long long time, also english is not my native language so please be gentle. Without delay I present You all first story of the series.

Is there a game that makes me forget Shrek Forever After?

This reminds of 2 stories:

In one game I played, there was this character who I think claimed to be a wizard. We knew that that was complete B.S. cause he only ever cast like 3 different spells. He used them all the time, but only those three. Then, by special arrangement with the D.M., he made it so that his class features that wouldn't be obvious in game to our characters were used without our knowledge (e.g. in world if a rogue uses sneak attack other characters wouldn't be able to tell the difference between that and a regular attack, so us as players had no idea)

In the end he ended up being a weird flavour of rogue, with some wands and specific rogue powers/feats.

The other time was when I was a D.M.:

There was an NPC I was playing around with, that I wanted to introduce but wanted the players to interact with as if they were a pc, and I was having trouble doing so (there were some weird particulars with the storyline, not completely inportant).

At the same time a new player wanted to join, so I saw my opportunity.

Through various machinations (worked out with the player before hand), he joined the party (as a rogue), put on a cursed ring, and was semi-possesed by an oracle NPC (kinda cross between a cleric and sorcerer).

Each day would be a coin flip of who was in control, they were stated differently, did not share memmories, etc. (they kept a journal that they read everymorning so the other would know what was going on).

During fights (when the oracle was in control), he would hide throw an arrow to make it look like he just missed, and cast spells like hold person, murderous command, etc.

Somehow the other players never caught on, they just thought random magic was happening, and he was a shit rogue.

The reveal was great.

Days 1-3, the journey begins

Day 1

On the morning of November the 5th, I woke up with a blocked ear and a severe lack of sleep. Unfortunately, coffee could only fix one of those problems. After getting dressed my wonderful girlfriend, Sarah, drove me to the Gold Coast airport where we met up with my Mum and Sister. After a tearful goodbye, I met with the rest of the students travelling on the same flight and at 7:00AM we boarded our flight to Cairns. The inital flight was one of comfort as I had a row to myself, listening to music in my one good ear and eating stale lolly airplanes while staring at the gorgeous Great Barrier Reef. I managed to fit in a session of Smash Bros. with Caleb before departing once more. The six-and-a-half hour flight to Narita airport consisted of me applying ear drops and watching an interesting anime on Netflix to pass the time. Upon arrival, I collected my belongings and bought an unlimited data sim to use on my phone for the month which only cost 6000 yen (Roughly 80AUD). After everyone was together we took the Keisei line to Narita station where we met up with the Leigh Sensei and the rest of the group. After giving our luggage to the Kirinoya Ryokan owner, Katsumata San, we took a short walk down the streets of Narita towards our ryokan, taking in the views along the way. After we arrived I was required to take off my shoes and wear slippers while walking along the hardwood (a very common practice in Japan) then into another pair while walking on the tatami mats. There was even a seperate pair just for the bathroom. After putting my bags away in the room I shared with Ethan, I went to the dining area and ate a delicious traditional dinner prepared by Katsumata-san’s family. Afterwards I went to bed to prepare for the next day.

Day 2

After a traditional Japanese breakfast of fish, nori, omelette, rice and miso, the group and I went to the scenic Narita-san park where we saw dozens of huge multi-coloured koi fish and visited a Japanese caligraphy mueseum and then to the Narita-san Shinshoji temple where we saw the locals praying with incense and money offerings. After the temple tour, I walked back to the Ryokan with Katsumata-san, making small talk (as best we could) about Narita and our lives. Katsumata-san was kind enough to have his son drive me to the local ENT clinic to get my ear looked at so I could avoid an infection. It turns out Katsumata-san’s son was a big fan of video games, which made making conversation a piece of cake. After getting my ear cleaned out I felt like a new man and was ready to tackle to rest of the tour. I was dropped off at the Aeon mall and met up with some of the boys to get some lunch and check out the shops. I finally got to try Mister Donut and it was so good that it has ruined all other donuts for me. After eating we wandered around, buying some bits and pieces here and there that would be useful on the tour, we began the lengthy walk back to the ryokan just as dusk was settling. After returning and eating the katsudon and side dishes prepared for us, Katsumata-san let us see his family heirlooms including a 100+ year old gun, a katana, the helmet of a samurai and some interesting wooden face masks which everyone got the chance to hold and take photos with. Once dinner was finished, Billy, Ethan, Caleb, Arnold and myself took a small stroll down to the local Family Mart where we bought some snacks and a few cans of the infamous ‘Strong Zero’ which had a 9% alcohol content. This was the first of our many mistakes that night… After returning to the ryokan we drank our drinks and definitely felt the effect kick in. The suggestion of a second trip to family mart was floated around until finally we left to buy some more drinks (Our second mistake). I couldn’t get over how cheap the food and drinks are in convenience stores in Japan. A 500ml can of alcohol was 220Yen, roughly $3AUD. After our final purchase my remaining memmories of that night seemed to dissapear as fast as the alcohol did…the last thing I remember was poorly organising my futon before falling fast asleep.

Day 3

My third morning began with two unclogged ears but one pounding headache, I guess I didn’t drink enough Pocari Sweat. After packing our bags we had a final traditional breakfast at the Kirinoya Ryokan, although I didn’t have the biggest appetite… After gathering my bags and walking to the station, the group and I then spent the rest of the day travelling north on a series of local trains towards the Tochigi Prefecture and eventually, Nikko via the Tobu Railways limited express line. After arriving in Nikko we struggled to get all the groups into taxis, they were probably frightened off by the big group of suitcase dragging gaijin. The remaining group took the local bus to the closest stop and then walked to the Turtle Inn which we were staying at. I was rooming with Oliver and Caleb this time in a small tatami room with futons. After settling down our things, we all went to explore the local scenery, including the Kanman-ga Fuchi Abyss which follows the Daiya River. This path was lined with jizo statues which adorned pink knitted caps which were supposed to help them in the afterlife. The scenery was astoundingly beautiful and I could tell that would be a common theme in Japan. After walking through the path and taking lots of photos, we went to the vibrantly red Shinkyo Bridge which was built in 1636 and stretched across the Daiya river. After taking a small tour through halls of the Kanaya Hotel (the oldest western-style hotel in Japan) and viewing its rich history of famous guests, we went to Gusto’s Diner for dinner. I had the 'Meat on Meat’ special which was exactly what you’d expect it to be. After dinner, Ben, Leigh, Matt, Arnold and myself went back the the Kanaya Hotel and paid a visit to the bar. While the vibe and setting was very appealing the service was less than kind and came with a high price tag. A fun experience with some good company but I probably wouldn’t go back. After drinks the five of us made our way back to the Turtle Inn and shared stories in the lobby until the late hours of the night. It was a good chance to get to know everyone. Afterwards we went to bed to rest for the big day ahead.
