A Dumbo Octopus mermaid I made for Mermay 2019 but never “finished”. I worked on it on and off and tried to have it ready for the 2020 one but never felt satisfied. I’m at a point now where I’m okay with it and don’t want it buried in my files any longer so here it is! It’s the first of May today, and that means it’s time for #mermay! I didn’t like the ‘official’ prompt list so I’ll be just drawing mermaids based on whatever comes to my mind. That’ll probably means bizarre sea creatures! :) . The illustration was the cover for the MerMay sketch zine I put together in 2019, I’d love to create an updated version this year.
