MC A.D.E., 1985: "Bass Rock Express"
An early classic of electro and apparently the beginning of the Miami bass scene, from back when hip-hop was still intensely influenced by Kraftwerk. It's not the only remix/cover of "Trans Europe Express", but the reason it's on this blog is that--as far as I know--it is the only one to spice it up by also throwing in the Green Acres Theme

There's a brand new dance and it's coming your way;
It was started in Miami by the Ghetto DJs.
Say some call it nasty but that's not true,
It's just the only dance that you can do.

@afloweroutofstone do you have hiphop recs that are very 808 Miami bass heavy without like the cornball factor of 80s hip-hop
Like this vibe but like better real hotdog ship but this isn't the best writing I've heard in my life
When left to my own devices on spotify I keep like ending up listening to like 80s electrofunk but I need more cunt

everytime I listen to some rave songs with some rave stabs I got this uncanny feeling just because I'm a 90s Brazilian baby and for that reason I grew up in contact with funk carioca everywhere, and the 00s funk uses the same stabs 🤌🏼
