what the heck happened to Mibba???? there are no stories on there anymore? where are all the stories did someone back them up or something before whatever horrible tragedy happened over there???

i think the thing i miss the most about mibba is the layout system. you could make your story page look so neat and polished or however you wanted. you didn't have to worry about finding the main story page and linking a million different things to it like you do on tumblr. and the stats system wasn't all up in your face like ao3 so you didn't really focus so much on a fics numbers to deem whether or not it was "successful" (i'm rolling my eyes so hard right now, as if numbers mean shit). you just tossed your fic out there and hoped someone would find it and rec it and hope by word of mouth that it would reach its target audience. nowadays fic is so curated and filtered, it's hard to find the hidden gems. sorry for the Back in My Day tangent I'm just feeling nostalgic going through my old mibba profile and trying to decide if i want to delete it or not. i miss those days. i miss when i felt like an endless well of potential and inspiration. ugh. i hope this post makes some sense. i'm gonna go drink some wine now.

Looking for a story…

I know it’s a long shot but does anybody know where I could find the Jared Followill fanfiction called “Pirate Smile”? I discovered it years ago (like maybe in 2010) on Quizilla and then later on Mibba. It was a beyond brilliant story just like the one by @ownisyoulove-blog.

It appears as though Mibba no longer works which is a real shame. Quizilla has obviously been gone for a long time too. And maybe the Kings of Leon fanfiction community hasn’t had much activity since about 2013 (I could be wrong though as I haven’t really checked into it since about then or so).

I remember being on mibba and writing a journal there but there were these two guys that would basically stalk the journals like it was their domain and comment on everyone elses while being pieces of shit but you couldn't block anyone. They were like 6 or 7 years older than the majority of the users or people they were even interacting with so it was basically 2 adults being assholes to a bunch of teenagers. Like at 14 I couldn't post a journal without some 25 yo and his 20yo little henchmen coming at me for my spelling then it evolving into them saying their poetry was better than mine like they weren't 6-11 years older than me college students harassing a HS freshmen.

I think about them a lot and I hope they got married and divorced I hope their wives took it all and they try to make money on poetry books but everyone instead roasts them for using the wrong form of their/there/they're while letting them know somone else poetry is better.

getting into mcr when i was 9 really permanently changed my brain forever. looking at frerard fanart on deviantart and watching those youtube videos that were just still images of them with text over them and reading fanfic on livejournal gave me a new lifelong mental illness.

Am I the only one who misses when your favorite online writer or somone would have a writing competition with criteria and topic and slots for entry and then have awards like a shoutout on their page, comments on your story, or like cowrites and shit and some sites had fourms dedicated to them and shit? Bc like I miss that so much, just a bunch of kids having fun and creating shit with eachother it was so much fun. Like half people posting wouldn't even be in the competition they'd just be reading for fun and cheering on it was amazing. Sometimes the layout of the story counted and you'd write like a 5 chapter masterpiece and html your way down to 3rd place. Everyone was a God.
