this was the first song i ever heard of his back in 2018.
his music is so fun, unique, and beautiful. it really stood out in the synthwave genre and pioneered it.

Gosh I love writing. I can solve a problem I invented, based on some completely made-up physics, in the span of a single sentence. Incredible stuff!

im on one tonight with TDC skeksis analysis. anyway i like imagining that there was some moment (or several discrete moments) for every skeksis where they thought of turning back and getting put of the skeksis insanity pact before things went too far. like some moral dilemma was put in front of them related to their specific role within the skeksis empire where they could have chosen to back off or double down. and all of them doubled down.
#i've imagined a few of those scenarios for various skeksis and every time its fucked up#for skekso the first one was probably when he decided to attack skekshod. very very early on cementing himself as All In.#but probably every now and again has another moment where he can decide whether to ramp up the insanity even more or to leave off#and every time he chooses the former#for the scientist i think one of his would be first deciding to start experimenting on himself in pursuit of immortality#for a moment he wonders whether immortality is even worth it and then fear of repraisal from the other skeksis and the emperor in particular#moves his hand#(disregarding the jhp comics i havent read them) skekgra is probably one of the only skeksis who managed to wrench himself away#motivating what sequence of events would lead to his exile#i could do this for all the skeksis but its half past midnight#the pom! signal#the dark crystal#theyre soooo echo chamber nightmare blunt rotation crab bucket analogy frog and scorpion parable#doubly interesting to imagine something similar happening among the mystics but the other way around#where one of them has the opportunity to do something for the benefit of many and chooses not to
