I think my favorite decision in the current demo is using the one question Cienna gives you to ask if she's ok. It's such a nice character moment for her, and it gives the reader a lot of say over how their MC behaves. So thank you for writing it I suppose lol

I’m glad that’s something you’ve enjoyed! It reminded me of the one scene in Infinity War (the iconic Why is Gamora)… Everyone always asks: “Where is Cienna?” | “Who is Cienna?”

But no one asks: “How is Cienna?”

One of my favorite scenes comes after the fact:

Roger Dean studied furniture design in college, which equipped him to do this album cover for Walking Circles, by Midnight Sun. Here’s what Dominy Hamilton and Carla Capalbo wrote about the art in the 1975 Roger Dean art book Views:

“Dean decided that after 5,000 years of chair design the only sufficiently different variation as yet unattempted, as far as he knew, was the bio-chemical approach. Dean's proposal was based on a mechanism favoured by lizards for re-growing their tails. Dean finally abandoned this project because of lack of facilities.”

Reasons autistic Bella is canon and real and true

Charlie: "I don't know if she's going to get over it– I'm not sure it's in her nature. She's always been such a constant little thing. She doesn't get past things, doesn't change her mind." So Bella has always been this resistant to change

In twilight, there's the occasional mention of her fidgeting when she's nervous, but in midnight sun, edward notices her stimming so many times. it seems like her usual habits are tapping her toes, playing with her hair and wringing her hands

She tries to mirror those around her & copy their tone, even when she's uncomfortable, because she thinks that's just How You Socialize (telling Eric that she also wants to go to comic con despite her having no idea what it really is, her talking very politely and casually about Edward's hunting habits, etc etc)

Poor motor skills

Horrible at evaluating risks / consequences

When she's feeling overwhelmed and needs sensory input she puts on headphones and listens to the same album on repeat for several hours at max volume

Covers her ears for most of the baseball game

Often unaware of her tone when she's speaking. There are moments in twilight where she's like "'xyz,' I said with as much enthusiasm as I could muster," that, in midnight sun, are changed to "'xyz,' she murmured, sounding unsure even as she said it." (The most hilarious example of this is "Go team!" vs "Go team?" in the baseball scene lol)

Since the family is getting more attention, I wanted to throw out there that I love the idea of a younger MC having their favorite times of year be whenever the family got together since they could more easily get sweets from their uncles/grandparents/Viktoria

😂, I think the only family members that’d actually have candy, and give it away, are Dimitri, Calcifer, Viktoria, Elias, and Rainier…

Dimitri would have sugar free candy, or healthy alternatives, on him, while Cal would sneakily give you the sugared version of it behind his back.

Viktoria would have a bag of sweets for herself but she may be inclined to share — as long as you like spicy candy.

Elias would just be that typical grandparent that has hard candy, like butterscotch or those strawberry things, to give out.

Rainier… I don’t think he’d necessarily always have candy, but he sometimes munched on old sweets — not actually old candy, but sweets that he used to have when he was human — and he’d be inclined to share them with the MC too if asked.

in midnight sun when edward sees his siblings playing a convoluted chess game, knowing they won’t let him play, and in new moon when bella watches him & alice play, but the game happened entirely in their heads & only took a few minutes LIKE. no wonder edward was happy to spend their honeymoon playing chess instead of fucking lmao he hasn’t had a good opponent in over 80 years
